Abstract

This paper investigates the factors that determine bank profitability in Indonesia particularly on state-owned banks during the 2007 to 2017. The research applied Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to measure short-term and long-term effects of independent variable on dependent variable. The research data ini this paper is drawn from two main sources namely Bank Indonesia (BI) and Financial Services Authority (OJK) from 2007 to 2017. The findings showed that in the long term, BOPO, LDR, NPLs, economic growth, and exchange rates have positive relationship toward bank profitability while in the short term, inflation and BI rates do not have effect on bank profitability. However, in the short run, all variables mentioned do not have impact toward banking profitability. In addition, based on Impulse Response Function test, it showed that there are only two independent variables are able to provide a response in case of shock, namely inflation and the exchange rate toward bank’s profitability.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between monetary indicators and bank credit distribution, including inflation, interest rate, and exchange rate in seven ASEAN countries namely Brunei, Indonesia, Philippine, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. This study applied a quantitative approach by engaging multiple regression analysis with panel data using cross-section data from 2012 to 2018. The data in this research was secondary data which gathered from the World Bank website. The findings of this study showed that inflation and interest rate had a negative influence on bank credit distribution, while the exchange rate had a positive effect on bank credit distribution. The study’s result also showed that variable inflation, interest rate, and the exchange rate had a simultaneous effect on bank credit distribution in seven ASEAN countries. These results suggest that for the policy makers in each ASEAN country should be able to consider a lending regulation.

Abstract

Investment as a means of developing assets is no longer a luxury activity reserved for a select few. Nowadays, as financial technology advances, everyone has equal access to investment information. This change generates new perspectives in which investing is not restricted to the wealthy, leading everyone, even on-budget millennials to be investors. The purpose of this research is to determine the variables affecting investing decisions at an early age, especially among millennials. This research adopted single-equation regression models to examine the dependent variable on several explanatory variables and estimate mean or average value. The data was generated using a questionnaire to 140 respondents. Three distinct variables utilized as independent variables are financial literacy, motivation, and the digitization of investing platforms. The findings indicate that financial literacy and motivation substantially affect millennials’ investment decisions, while digitization presents no correlation to the Millennials’ investment decisions.

Abstract

Indonesia has confronting economic challenges due to many factors such as uncontrolled population and urbanization, among others. It is therefore essential to examine such variables that may take essential roles in determining economic growth. In doing so, this study empirically examines the dynamic linkage between population, urbanization, poverty, and economic growth in Indonesia using a Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to capture the short and long-term relationship. The research involved data between 2000 and 2020 from the Worldometer and World bank data. The empirical results indicate that the inclination of population growth and urbanization rates have a negative impact on Indonesian economic growth. Conversely, the poverty rate that continues to rise impacts increasing economic growth in Indonesia. This study also concludes that in the long and short run, there are indications of the nexus between the variables of economic growth population growth, urbanization, and poverty level. The research suggests coordination between parties to manage population growth and urbanization with the planning of economic strategies. The government is directed to continually provide censuses to control the urbanization and population among Indonesian

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' 21st-century competencies. Differentiated learning with the gallery walk method is expected to provide learning competencies evenly and fairly. The development of Bruce Joyce's learning model, which actualizes individual abilities and differences, is the basis for the study of learning differentiation development in this study. Quasi-experimental quantitative research involves a control class with normal learning and an experimental class with the application of the gallery walk method and differentiated learning. Participants of this study consist of 60 students at Avicenna Jagakarsa High School - South Jakarta, Indonesia. A differentiated learning model using the Gallery walk method was conducted in two classes, then measured its effectiveness. The results of this study found that all students were able to take initiative, be active and build new knowledge and experiences, increase collaboration in learning groups, think openly and accept other people’s thoughts, and foster leadership. In the material aspect, students can analyze learning questions contextually and challenge them according to 21st-century learning competencies. For future researchers to be able to research learning differentiation in other learning materials as well as in different competencies.

Abstract

This research aims to develop theoretical prepositions of cooperative business development in the digital era as part of the education and development of cooperatives. The problem studied is the low competitiveness of cooperatives, on the other hand, the high public interest in various cooperative products so modeling solutions is needed in managing cooperatives competitively in the digital era. The cooperative needs to be studied and developed based on superior work performance so that it has a professional management process. This research examines performance theory, with a digital innovation approach. The method used is qualitative with literature and literature studies, theoretically and historically analyzing the development of cooperatives globally and their competitiveness. The results show that employee digital skills, service quality, and member loyalty with active participation predict cooperative business development in the digital era. This study also explains the theoretical measurement factors for future researchers and describes, explains, and measures cooperative business development based on the theoretical study. For future researchers to be able to develop this research empirically with exploratory factor analysis or confirmatory factor analysis, with a wider population and sample. Keywords: Cooperative business, Business development, Digital era, Innovative performance, Service quality

Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive overview of research on mobile health applications (mHealth apps) from 2013 to 2023. A total of 207 research papers from the Scopus database were analyzed. Based on keyword co-occurrences and co-authorship mapping, the paper identifies emerging trends and research patterns by using the VOSviewer software. Over the past ten years, there has been a discernible increase in the number of mHealth publications. However, a lack of attention has been given to the Asian context. It is anticipated that applications of mHealth will be observed in numerous health services given the high volume of citations obtained in this subject. The present review paper is assisted by the bibliometric approach and offers a rigorous analysis of journal papers on mHealth that have been published. The findings of the current work may serve as a foundation for further research in this discipline that focuses on bringing attention to the nature of the subject matter. This overview could be a central resource for researchers and practitioners looking for information that can help with cross-disciplinary projects by directing them to recognized peer-reviewed publications, journals, and networks.
