Abstract

Science began from the human admiration to both large and small scopes of nature. Human being as rational animal is equipped with curiosity. The characteristic of curiosity can be seen at their childhood. With simple questions to ask is a sign of desire to start to learn and to understand the universe. To have philosophy is essentially a trip to remember any activity everyone had done and enjoyed in their childhood. One of the appropriate ways to go into philosophical world is to pay attention to the children’s questions. There is simple truth, yet important. From children themselves, adults can find wisdom to educate them by stimulating their potention.A psychological study based on epistemological approach is a good andsignificant bridge for educators and parents to understand children in their philosophical questions as efforts to learn finding the truth through science and knowledge. Furthermore, consistent with the cognitive concept in Psychology of Learning, the way to give meaning on the responses we given to the children’s questions should be understood as a causa of the response. Therefore, the use of reason and sensorial meaning in children will be formed early. One of the ways is giving opportunity for children to make identification on their own questions, namely by giving responses that can stimulate their thought. It is significant to develop their own ideas so that they will continuously grow in using thinking levels from the simple to complex ones.Keywords : epistemology, psychology of learning, knowledge, children

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui (1) pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter melalui dongeng, (2) nilai karakter yang dikembangkan, (3) faktor pendukung dan penghambat, dan (4) hasilnya pada TK Lazuardi Kamila. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan Penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian yaitu (1) Pelaksanaan dongeng dimulai dengan perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. (2) Nilai karakter meliputi olah hati, olah pikir, olah raga, dan olah rasa. (3) Faktor pendukung lembaga adanya progam mendongeng, sentra Islamic character building, serta penyediaan fasilitas, dan dari pendidik adalah keteladanan. Dukungan orangtua berupa kemudahan komunikasi dengan pihak lembaga. Faktor penghambat lembaga yaitu karyawan belum bisa menjadi teladan, minimnya media dongeng, serta penilaian belum tersusun sistematis. Pendidik belum menyusun daftar dongeng, kesulitan mencari bahasa, dan penjelasan nilai karakter tidak utuh. Orangtua belum bisa menjadi teladan, dan rendahnya partisipasi dalam melanjutkan pendidikan karakter. (4) Hasilnya semua nilai karakter telah dilakukan, kecuali kepemimpinan dan cinta tanah airKata Kunci: dongeng, pendidikan karakter, taman kanak-kanak The Role of Tales in Character Education in Kamila Lazuardi Kindergarten in SurakartaAbstractThe aim of research to determine (1) the implementation of character education through tales, (2) the value of the characters are developed, (3) enabling and inhibiting factors, and (4) the results on TK Lazuardi Kamila. The qualitative research with case study method. Results of the study are (1) The tales begins with the planning, implementation and evaluation. (2) Value of characters includes careful though, if thought, sport, and if the flavor. (3) Factors supporting institutions for programs of storytelling, character building Islamic centers, and the provision of facilities, and from educators is exemplary. Parental support in the form of ease of communication with the institutions. Inhibiting factors, namely agency employees cannot serve as an example, the lack of media stories, as well as the assessment has not been systematically arranged. Educators have not compiled a list of fairy tales, having trouble finding the language, and explanation of the value of the character is not intact. Parents cannot be exemplary, and low participation in continuing education of character. (4) The results of all grades of character has been done, except leadership and patriotism.Keywords: tale, character education, kindergarten

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial dengan model team teaching melalui pemanfaatan lingkungan alam. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan subyek 15 anak usia 3-4 tahun di KB Rasi Bintang, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Keabsahan data menggunakan validitas hasil dan proses dengan analisis interaktif yang terdiri atas 3 komponen kegiatan yaitu display data, reduksi data dan pengambilan kesimpulan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, catatan lapangan, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan temuan, model team teaching melalui pemanfaatan lingkungan alam mampu meningkatkan keterampilan sosial anak yang meliputi 3 sikap yaitu peduli sebesar 81,2%, kerjasama sebesar 79,8% dan kemandirian sebesar 80,5%. Model team teaching dilakukan oleh pendidik dengan saling berkontribusi dalam pembelajaran melalui 3 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi dengan memadukan potensi lingkungan alam sebagai sumber dan media belajar anak. Proses pembelajaran berlangsung di lingkungan alam mendukung para pendidik dalam memberikan pemahaman, arahan dan pengalaman kepada anak untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosialnya.  AbstractThe research aimed increasing social skills with team teaching models through utilize of the natural environment. This research  is a Classroom Action Research with subjects 15 children aged 3-4 years in KB Rasi Bintang, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The validity of the data used validity of the result and validity of the process used analysis interactive consisting of 3 components of activities, display by data, data reduction and conclusions. Data collection techniques used observation techniques, field notes and document analysis. The research findings the team teaching model applied through of the natural environment can increasing the social skills of children involving 3 social, the care aspect in the amount of 81, 2%, the cooperation aspect in the amount of 79,8% and the independence in the amount of 80,5%. The team teaching model is implemented through 3 phases, which includes planning, implementation and evaluation by combining the potential of the natural environment as a source and learning media for children. The process of learning in the natural environment support the educators to provide comprehension, direction and experience to students for increasing social skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran collaborative learning berbasis kearifan lokal yang layak untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan karakter bersahabat siswa dan (2) mengetahui keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran collaborative learning berbasis kearifan lokal untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan karakter bersahabat siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan mengacu pendapat Borg dan Gall, namun desain pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran ini hanya meliputi 9 langkah, yaitu (1) penelitian pendahuluan dan pengumpulan informasi, (2) perencanaan, (3) pengembangan draft produk, (4) uji coba terbatas, (5) merevisi hasil uji coba terbatas, (6) uji coba lapangan, (7) penyempurnaan produk hasil uji coba lapangan, (8) uji coba lapangan operasional, dan (9) penyempurnaan produk akhir. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV SD Piyungan Bantul. Hasil penilaian perangkat pembelajaran menurut ahli materi sebesar 96 % untuk Silabus dan 97,30 % untuk RPP dan menurut ahli pembelajaran sebesar 97,6% untuk Silabus dan 97,84% untuk RPP, sehingga perangkat pembelajaran ini layak digunakan dengan kategori valid. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui p 0,05,yang berarti bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar dan karakter bersahabat antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan perangkat pembelajaran collaborative learning berbasis kearifan lokal dan yang tidak menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran hasil pengembangan.Kata Kunci: perangkat pembelajaran, collaborative learning, motivasi, karakter DEVELOPING LEARNING KITS TO ENHANCE LEARNING MOTIVATION AND FRIENDLY CHARACTER IN FOURTH GRADE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AbstractThis study aims to (1) produce a collaborative learning kit based on local wisdom that is feasible to increase learning motivation and friendly character and (2) determine the effectiveness of the collaborative learning kit based on local wisdom to improve learning motivation and friendly character. This study is a research and development refering to the opinion of Borg and Gall, but this developing learning kit only consisting of nine steps including (1) research and information collection, (2) planning, (3) developing preliminary form of draft product, (4) preliminary field testing, (5) main product revision, (6) main field testing, (7) operational product testing, (8) operational field testing, and (9) final product revision. Subjects were fourth grade students Piyungan Bantul. The results of the assessment learning kits according to subject material expert by 96 % for syllabus and 97.30 % for lesson plan and learning expert by 97.6 % for syllabus and 97.84 % lesson plan, so that the learning kits are effective for use with a valid category. The operational field testing obtained p0.05, which means that there are significant differences on motivation to learn and friendly character of the students who take the collaborative learning with learning kits based on local wisdom and those who do not use the results of the development of learning kits.Keywords: kit learning, collaborative learning, motivation, character

Abstract

This research was conducted based on three considerations. Firstly, childhood is a critical developmental stage that forms the foundation for the psychological well-being and future learning development of children. Secondly, the prevalence of child and adolescent behavioral problems is increasing, assumed to be caused by unhappiness. Thirdly, studies related to happiness in early childhood in Indonesia are still lacking. Therefore, this study aims to explore the meaning, situation, and parties associated with happiness in children. Our study is exploratory using a qualitative approach. The respondents include 51 children aged 4 to 6 years. The research took place in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. We interviewed the respondents and later analyzed the data using content analysis. The latter consist of three coding steps: open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The results show that, 1) the meaning of happiness refers to positive affects (55%), activities (28.9%), getting something (8.89%), positive physical conditions (4.44%), and affiliation (2.22%), 2) The situations that make children happy are activities (36.61%), learning (11.61%), entertainment (9.82%), and sports (2.62%), 3) The parties who make children happy are families (77.92%), extended families (3.90%), non-family (19.48%), God (1.30%) and toys (1.30%).

Abstract

Perilaku merokok adalah permasalahan kesehatan yang ada di Indonesia. Bahkan prevalensi perokok meningkat setiap tahunnya. Permasalahan perilaku merokok sering muncul pada remaja awal karena remaja menjadi sasaran utama pada pemasaran rokok. Berdasarkan Data Riset Kesehatan Dasar Kota Palembang tahun 2014 jumlah perokok remaja mencapai sebesar 58,17 %. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh konformitas teman sebaya terhadap perilaku merokok di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan di Palembang yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Subjek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 120 siswa dengan usia 15-17 tahun yang dipilih secara random sampling dan diberikan untuk skala perilaku merokok dan konformitas teman sebaya. Data dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara konformitas teman sebaya dan perilaku merokok. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa konformitas teman sebaya yang tinggi maka perilaku merokok pada remaja juga semakin tinggi.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop a picture story book media feasible for building the self-awareness of early childhood children and reveal the effectiveness of the developed picture story book media.This research and development (RD) referred to the development procedure developed by Borg and Gall. The data analysis used the qualitative anaylisis and independent sample t-test. Sampling technique used purposive sampling. The preliminary field testing sujects consisted of 6 students of Al Amien Kindergarten. The main field testing subjects consisted of 30 students of Al Amien Kindergarten. The operational field testing subjects consisted of 40 students of ABA Karangmalang Kindergarten. The result of this research was as follows. First, the developed picture story book media was feasible to be used for building the self-awareness of early childhood students. It was proven from the result of media and material validation, also the result from teacher and children questionnaire. Second, the developed picture story book media was effective in building the self-awareness of 5 – 6 years old students significantly.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the problems faced by child nurture and learning assistance for children in the family during the covid -19 pandemic. This research is a descriptive qualitative study with a survey method. This research was conducted in Yogyakarta Province. The respondents of this study were parents, totaling 78 people.This study used a closed questionnaire. The results of the study are that the Covid 19 pandemic has made parents experience various obstacles related to parenting and assisting children in learning, ranging from the inability of parents to explain school material, disciplining children, spending too much time with gadgets and technical obstacles faced by 50% of families. These technical constraints are related to signal, wifi, quota and the ability to own gadgets. So that in providing assistance such as quotas, it would be better if support was also given to students who do not have gadgets and assistance for areas that are still having problems with signals because there are no transmitters.

Abstract

Indonesian government has regulated that the basic age of readiness of a child to attend elementary schools is 7 years old. In fact, some children are not exactly 7 years old when they first go to school because they develop more rapidly. This study is aimed at investigating some aspects of child development which affect their readiness to attend elementary school. The subjects were 101 grade 1, 2, and 3 teachers of elementary schools in Yogyakarta, a special Region in Indonesia. The data were collected through interviews. The results of the data collection were analyzed using both descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results of the study show some aspects of child development affecting their readiness to attend elementary schools, including cognitive and language ability, social emotional skills, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, arts, religion and moral values, and some others. Beside these aspects, some problems in grades 1, 2, and 3 are also found. This study is expected to give significant indicators to create the construct of school readiness.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendekripsikan hubungan antara harapan dan kesejahteraan subjektif pada remaja yang pernah menjadi korban perundungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling dengan kriteria berusia 14 sampai 17 tahun, berdomisili di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dan pernah menjadi korban perundungan. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 131. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala harapan dan kesejahteraan subjektif yang telah melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Instrumen tersebut disebar menggunakan GoogleForm melalui WhatsApp Group. Analisis data dilakukan dengan Pearson product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara harapan dan kesejahteraan subjektifsecara signifikan 0.001 (p0.05). Dengan demikian jika harapan meningkat maka kesejahteraan subjektifnya pun meningkat, begitu juga sebaliknya
