Abstract

Body image concerns represent a significant mental health challenge among contemporary adolescent populations, particularly for girls navigating developmental transitions and sociocultural pressures related to physical appearance. The increasing prevalence of body dissatisfaction among youth has been associated with various psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and diminished self-esteem, underscoring the urgency of understanding the factors that shape body image perceptions during this critical developmental period. This study aims to determine the extent to which self-esteem and social comparison can predict body image in adolescent girls. This research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational design. The subjects consisted of 100 female adolescents aged 16–21 years, located in Yogyakarta. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires, namely the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), the Iowa–Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measure (INCOM), and the Positive Body Image Adolescent Scale (PBIAS), all of which were adapted into Indonesian. Reliability testing used Cronbach’s Alpha, producing reliability coefficient values of 0.875, 0.857, and 0.950, respectively. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS version 26. The results showed that the hypothesis was accepted, with R = 0.642, R² = 0.412, and a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). Therefore, self-esteem and social comparison have a positive and significant effect on body image in adolescent girls. This indicates that self-esteem and social comparison can predict body image in teenage girls by 41.2%, while other factors account for the remaining 58.8%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecenderungan gaya cinta mania terhadap kepuasan hubungan romantis pada subjek emerging adulthood.  Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian survei. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 310 orang dengan menggunakan metode accidental sampling. Kriteria subjek yang terlibat yaitu berusia 18 – 25 tahun, sedang menjalin hubungan romantis (berpacaran), dan berdomisili di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode kuesioner yang disebarkan secara online, dengan menggunakan instrumen subskala dari Love Attitude Scale (LAS) yaitu gaya cinta mania (α=0,861) dan skala kepuasan hubungan (reliabilitas α=0,759). Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh gaya cinta mania terhadap kepuasan hubungan romantis dengan signifikansi sebesar 0,118 (p  >  0,05). Hal ini dimungkinkan karena adanya faktor lain seperti: 1) subjek memiliki lebih dari satu gaya cinta, 2) adanya afeksi yang diterima pasangan meskipun pasangan memiliki gaya cinta mania, dan 3) adanya faktor budaya

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of low prosocial behavior among high school teenagers in Palopo City. Authoritative parenting by parents and self-esteem are supporting factors for adolescents to increase prosocial behavior. Therefore, this study aims to prove the influence of authoritative parenting and self-esteem on prosocial behavior in high school teenagers in Palopo City. This research employed quantitative research with an ex-post facto type of research with a sample of 335 teenagers. The data collection technique used an accidental sampling technique with research instruments in the form of psychological scales, namely the prosocial behavior scale, authoritative parenting scale, and self-esteem scale. The validity test used the results of factor loading, and the reliability test used Cronbach's Alpha, with a reliability coefficient value for the prosocial behavior scale = 0.910, the self- esteem parenting scale = 0.885, and the self-esteem scale = 0.890. Data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis techniques. The study's results show that authoritative parenting and self-esteem influence prosocial behavior in adolescents (p=0.000). Therefore, it can be concluded that authoritative research and self-esteem influence prosocial behavior in adolescents. The regression line equation is 14.204 + 0.326 X1 + 0.539 X2. The effective contribution of authoritative parenting and self-esteem to prosocial behavior was 44.8%, consisting of authoritative parenting at 17.2% and self-esteem at 27.6%.

Abstract

Academic resilience has emerged as a problem in education and mental health among society, especially among teenagers. Positive parenting and self-efficacy are supporting factors that help adolescents develop academic resilience. This research aims to prove the influence of self-efficacy as a mediator between positive parenting and academic resilience in adolescents. This study employed a quantitative research design, specifically an ex-post facto, with a sample size of 302 adolescents. The sample for this research was determined using an accidental sampling technique. Data collection for this research involved the use of the Academic Resilience Scale-30 (ARS), positive parenting scale, and self-efficacy scale. The validity test employed factor loading results, while the reliability test utilized Cronbach's Alpha. The reliability coefficient values for the academic resilience scale, positive parenting scale, and self-efficacy scale are 0.911, 0.897, and 0.879, respectively. The data analysis utilized various techniques of multiple regression analysis. The findings of this study suggest that favourable parenting characteristics have a moderating effect on academic resilience. The impact of favourable parenting factors on academic resilience, initially at 27.1%, increases to 30.5% when the self-efficacy variable is considered.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena masih ditemukannya karyawan wanita yang memiliki tingkat organizational commitment rendah di Sektor Formal Sulawesi Tenggara. Work life balance dan organizational justice diketahui mampu menjadi faktor pendukung karyawan wanita untuk meningkatkan serta mengoptimalkan organizational commitment. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan ada tidaknya pengaruh work-life balance dan organizational justice terhadap organizational commitment pada karyawan wanita di sektor formal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian ex-post facto. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 400 karyawan wanita di Sulawesi Tenggara, yang dipilih menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa skala psikologis, yaitu skala work life balance, skala organizational justice, dan skala organizational commitment. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa work life balance dan organizational justice secara simultan memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap organizational commitment pada karyawan wanita di sektor formal (p=0,000). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin baik keseimbangan antara kehidupan kerja dan pribadi yang dirasakan karyawan, serta semakin tinggi persepsi terhadap keadilan dalam organisasi, maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat komitmen terhadap organisasi.

Abstract

The prevalence of internalizing behavior problems, namely depression, anxiety, and stress, among adolescents has increased globally. Poor levels of hope have been previously identified in a vast body of literature as one of the factors which has contributed to a large number of internalization behaviour problems . This study aimed to examine hope as a significant predictor of depression tendencies, anxiety, and stress among adolescents in Yogyakarta, Indonesia using an incidental sampling method. The Depression Anxiety Stress Scales-21 (DAAS-21) and the Snyder's Hope Scale were modified and validated for an online survey. Four hundred Indonesian teenagers between 12 and 21 years took part in the online poll. The data were analyzed using regression analysis to evaluate the correlations between internalizing behavioral issues and hope. Based on the regression analysis, this study found that hope had a negative correlation with stress (r = -0.16, p .01; BCa 95% CI [-0.28; 0.05]), anxiety (r = -0.20, p .01; BCa 95% CI [-0.31; 0.10), and depression (r = -0.36, p .01; BCa 95% CI [-0.45; -0.26). Furthermore, it was found that hope could predict lower levels of stress, anxiety, and depression in the sample (t = -3.27; B = -.13; p .01; BCa 95% CI [-.29; -.05]).

Abstract

Minimnya pengasuhan dan perlindungan merupakan permasalahan yang terjadi pada Anak Pekerja Migran Indonesia (APM). Apalagi Pekerja Migran Indonesia tinggal jauh dari keluarga dan anak dan menghadapi stresor yang menjadi tantangan dalam mengembangkan keterampilan pengasuhan positif. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya upaya dari berbagai pihak untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek dari Program Pengabdian Masyarakat (PPM) berupa pelatihan keterampilan pengasuhan terhadap pengetahuan pengasuhan Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI), mencakup pengetahuan tentang pemahaman diri PMI sebagai orang tua, hubungan yang sehat dalam keluarga, hak-hak anak, dan pola asuh yang positif. Program PPM yang dilakukan berupa workshop online sebagai bagian dari layanan psikologis melalui platform Zoom dan konsultasi psikologis melalui WhatsApp. Untuk menguji keberhasilan pelatihan ini, digunakan metode pra-eksperimental dengan desain one group pre test-post test. Peserta pelatihan ini adalah 80 Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI) yang berdomisili di Singapura (dengan rentang usia 18-43 tahun dan semuanya berjenis kelamin perempuan). Rangkaian program dilaksanakan dari tanggal 18-25 Juli 2021. Pengetahuan orang tua mengenai mindful parenting dievaluasi menggunakan pre dan post-test (tes awal dan akhir) dengan analisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil penghitungan uji beda menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan antar peserta mengenai topik atau isu yang dibahas dalam Pelatihan (p = 0,00, p<0,05) sehingga implementasi PPM dapat dibuktikan berhasil.

Abstract

Resilience is an important character for career women. Resilience is needed so that dual-role career women can balance career and family. Internal and external factors in career women can also affect their psychological resilience in undergoing dual roles. This study aims to determine how the description of resilience abilities in dual-role career women. The method used is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The subjects taken were four dual-role career women at Mulawarman University, Samarinda City, East Kalimantan. The research was conducted using in-depth interview method. Data analysis was done by data reduction, categorization, and data presentation. The conclusion of the results showed that the four subjects had high resilience, because they fulfilled five aspects of resilience, namely personal competence, trust in instincts, positive self-acceptance of change, control, and spiritual influence. Suggestions for further research may be able to conduct more in-depth interviews and observations, because researchers can only interview online because they are in different cities.

Abstract

Pembelajaran yang mengembangkan kemampuan sosial terutama keterampilan sosial belum dilakukan dengan perencanaan yang baik di Taman Kanak-kanak. Hal ini dapat mengakibatkan tujuan pembelajaran di Taman Kanak-kanak menjadi kurang terprogram. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan dari Dick & Carry yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan panduan program pembelajaran yang yang mengembangkan keterampilan sosial anak Taman Kanak-kanak. Subyek penelitian adalah para pendidik di Taman Kanak-kanak yang berasal di Kabupaten Sleman, Bantul, Gunung Kidul, Kulon Progo, dan Kotamadya Yogyakarta. Setiap kabupaten diwakili oleh 15 pendidik. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan pemberian angket dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) pada pendidik dan observasi pada anak menggunakan pedoman observasi berupa cheklist. Data yang sudah terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis dengan diskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data-data hasil dari FGD dan angket dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif, sedangkan data dari observasi melalui cheklist dianalisis dengan teknik statistik uji t parametrik untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan sosial anak TK setelah mendapatkan program pembelajaran menggunakan buku panduan yang menstimulasi keterampilan sosial. Hasil dari penelitian dengan terciptanya pedoman pembelajaran keterampilan sosial yang telah melalui evaluasi awal atau uji ahli dan ujicoba di lapangan. Hasil validasi ahli menunjukkan pedoman pembelajaran keterampilan sosial layak untuk digunakan setelah melengkapi daftar isi, evaluasi pembelajaran dan memperbaiki kesalahan tata tulis. Demikian pula hasil masukan dari pendidik TK menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan pedoman pembelajaran keterampilan sosial yang dibuat peneliti menunjukkan cukup baik dari aspek pembelajaran, tampilan. Hasil implementasi di TK menunjukkan bahwa panduan pembelajaran keterampilan sosial dapat meningkatkan rata-rata skor keterampilan sosial anak TK pada ketiga aspek keterampilan sosial dengan signifikan, yaitu pada pada aspek empati, afiliasi dan resolusi konflik, dan pengembangan kebiasaan positif.

Abstract

Friendship is one of the forms of interpersonal relationship which may be experienced by people at some point in their lives. Friendships play larger roles when people move into adolescence, when peers begin to play larger roles. However, studies concerning friendship tend greatly to be focused upon mental health benefits for adolescents and their role as factors protective against mental health problems, predominantly internalizing disorder. Nonetheless, several of the latest pieces of research indicate that friendship does not always provide protection against internalizing disorder. Experts in the field of developmental psychopathology have recommended looking at the connection between friendships and internalizing disorder from a different viewpoint. Not just viewing friendships as protection against internalizing disorder, there are guidelines asking about the effects of internalizing disorder influencing friendships. This study attempted to delve deeper into whether the internalizing disorder such as depression and anxiety, regarding two indexes of the features of friendship (the positive features of friendship and the negative features of friendship), with non-clinical adolescents in the South East Asian context, involving 400 Indonesian participants (84% female adolescents; 16% male adolescents; Mage = 16.04) and 269 Malaysian participants (73% female adolescents; 27% male adolescents; Mage = 15.86). The results of hierarchical linear regression analysis indicated that the increase in depression rates predicted lower levels of the positive features of friendships and higher levels of the negative features of friendship. Meanwhile, an increase in anxiety predicted higher levels of the negative features of friendship. Besides this, there were no significant results from regression analysis regarding anxiety and the positive features of friendship. Additional findings and practical implications are discussed comprehensively. Persahabatan merupakan salah satu bentuk relasi interpersonal yang akan dialami seseorang pada satu titik dalam kehidupannya. Persahabatan mengambil peran yang lebih besar ketika individu beranjak ke masa remaja, ketika teman sebaya mulai mengambil peran yang lebih besar. Hanya saja, studi tentang persahabatan cenderung banyak difokuskan pada manfaatnya bagi kesehatan mental remaja serta perannya sebagai faktor protektif terhadap masalah kesehatan mental, terutama masalah internalisasi. Namun, beberapa penelitian terkini menunjukkan bahwa persahabatan tidak selalu memberikan proteksi terhadap masalah internalisasi. Ahli-ahli psikopatologi perkembangan sebenarnya sudah memberi saran untuk melihat hubungan antara persahabatan dan permasalahan internalisasi dari sudut pandang yang berbeda. Alih-alih melihat persahabatan sebagai pelindung dari permasalahan internalisasi, ada arahan untuk bertanya apa efek masalah internalisasi mempengaruhi persahabatan. Studi ini mencoba untuk mendalami lebih jauh mengenai peran masalah internalisasi seperti depresi dan kecemasan kepada dua indeks fitur persahabatan (fitur persahabatan positif dan fitur persahabatan negatif) pada remaja non klinis dalam konteks Asia Tenggara, dengan melibatkan 400 partisipan Indonesia (84% remaja perempuan; 16% remaja laki-laki; Musia = 16,04) dan 269 peserta Malaysia (73% remaja perempuan; 27% remaja laki-laki; Musia = 15,86). Hasil analisis hierarchical linear regression menunjukkan bahwa naiknya depresi memprediksi fitur persahabatan positif yang lebih rendah dan memprediksi fitur persahabatan negatif yang lebih tinggi. Sedangkan naiknya kecemasan memprediksi fitur persahabatan negatif yang lebih tinggi. Selain itu, tidak ditemukan hasil yang signifikan pada hasil analisis regresi untuk kecemasan dan fitur persahabatan positif. Temuan tambahan dan implikasi praktis didiskusikan secara komprehensif.
