Abstract

Recently, the virtual laboratory is developing rapidly. One indicator is the number of Mathematics students both state and private Universities in Central Java who are looking for references related to practical geometry courses via online between lectures.  This raises concern as a lecturer in adding value to lectures, which are adapted to the 21st-century learning era today by creating virtual laboratories based on Virtual Reality. This research employed the ADDIE R & D model (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation and Evaluation) after the product is finished, the next step is implementing and marketing the product in state and private university in the region of Central Java and its surroundings. The consideration of creating the virtual lab is that the science virtual lab product has not been developed much in Indonesia, in fact, this lab is able to display virtual and augmented reality which can increase motivation and learning outcomes. Based on the validation of media and material experts on the virtual geometry lab product, the scores show that the virtual geometry lab product is very suitable for implementing and more than 90% of lecturers and students at the PGRI Semarang University are very happy to implement it.

Abstract

The quality improvement of the university becomes one of the considerations in choosing the study program. Therefore, higher education branding is essential to maintain its existence in society.   As a part of the Teacher Preparation Program in Central Java, FPMIPATI UPGRIS needs a branding effort to increase its existence in the community so that it can increase the interest of prospective new students to choose it as a destination for undergraduate education. This study aims to determine public perceptions about the profile of FPMIPATI UPGRIS. The method used in this study is a cross-sectional quantitative survey method. The results showed that the profile of each Study Program at FPMIPATI consists of (1) excellent curriculum and competencies, (2) partnerships that exist in the study program, (3) Facilities, (4) programs to facilitate students to obtain funding other than scholarships, (4) profiles of graduates from each Study Program, able to be an attraction for the public, especially prospective new students.

Abstract

Mathematical communication skills have an important role in human life because humans are social creatures who cannot live individually but always relate and need other people. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. This study aims to determine the profile of students' mathematical communication skills on statistical material in terms of Adversity Quotient (AQ) which are climbers (high), campers (medium), and quitters (low). This research was conducted on students of class XII MIPA 1 SMA Laboratorium UPGRIS. The research subjects were 6 students consisting of 2 subjects with climbers type (high), 2 subjects with campers type (medium), and 2 subjects with quitters type (low). The instrument used in this research is the ARP Adversity Quotient questionnaire and uses a communication skill test. The data analysis technique was carried out in 3 stages, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The validity of the data using source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that (1) Subjects with the quitters type have not met all indicators of communication skills including written text, drawing, and mathematical expression; (2) Subjects with the campers type meet the indicators of mathematical communication skills, namely written text and drawing, but do not meet the indicators of mathematical expression; (3) Subjects with the climbers type fulfills all indicators of mathematical communication skills including written text, drawing, and mathematical expression.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa dengan kemampuan matematika tinggi dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita aritmatika sosial. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek yang diambil adalah satu siswa kelas VII SMP yang memiliki kemampuan matematika tinggi. Data penelitian diambil melalui dokumentasi, tes tertulis kemampuan literasi matematis dan wawancara. Teknik pemeriksaan keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi teknik yaitu membandingkan hasil tes kemampuan literasi matematis dengan hasil wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, siswa dengan kemampuan matematika tinggi memenuhi indikator kemampuan literasi matematis PISA yaitu, 1) mampu melaksanakan prosedur dalam memecahkan masalah dengan jelas, termasuk prosedur yang memerlukan keputusan secara berurutan, 2) mampu menyelesaikan masalah dan menggunakan strategi yang sederhana, 3) mampu menggunakan dan menafsirkan representasi dari sumber informasi yang berbeda serta menjelaskan alasannya secara langsung, 4) mampu mengkomunikasikan hasil interpretasi dan alasan mereka.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi matematika siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal materi aturan sinus dan kosinus. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek yang diambil yakni 6 siswa di kelas X-Mipa 2 MAN 1 Grobogan berdasarkan hasil tes pemahaman konsep yang berkemampuan tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan yakni tes dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan 3 tahapan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Teknik pemeriksaan keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, diketahui bahwa siswa dengan kemampuan matematika rendah belum sepenuhnya memenuhi indikator, Siswa dengan kemampuan sedang memenuhi sebagian besar indikator literasi matematika Siswa berkemampuan tinggi memenuhi indikator yakni dapat melaksanakan prosedur dengan jelas, mampu memecahkan masalah dan menerapkan strategi yang sederhana.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan melatih guru Sekolah Dasar (SD) membuat media pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi Comic Life 3. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode ceramah dan demonstrasi melalui pelatihan daring secara synchronous dan asynchronous. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diikuti oleh 56 peserta yang merupakan guru-guru SD se-Candisari kota Semarang. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengetahui tingkat keberhasilan dan keterserapan pelatihan adalah angket yang diisi oleh peserta seusai mengikuti program pelatihan. Tingkat keberhasilan dan keterserapan pelatihan diukur dalam beberapa indikator sebagai berikut kegiatan pelatihan menjadi satu solusi permasalahan pembelajaran daring bagi guru SD di era pendemi sebesar 66,1 % peserta menyatakan setuju dan 33,9 % peserta menyatakan sangat setuju; materi dalam kegiatan pelatihan dapat diimplimentasikan dengan mudah untuk pembelajaran sebesar 28,6% peserta menyatakan sangat setuju dan 67,9% peserta menyatakan setuju; penyampaian materi kegiatan pelatihan dapat dipahami dengan baik sebesar 30,4% peserta menyatakan sangat setuju dan 69,6% peserta menyatakan setuju; kegiatan pelatihan bermanfaat dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan guru dalam menjalankan kegiatan pembelajaran daring sebesar 30,4 % peserta menyatakan sangat setuju dan 69,6% peserta menyatakan setuju; pembuatan story line dan comic life mudah dikerjakan sebagai bentuk pelatihan dari materi yang telah di sampaikan sebelumnya sebesar 28,6% peserta menyatakan sangat setuju dan 67,9% peserta menyatakan setuju.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan anak-anak, remaja serta ibu-ibu di kelurahan Bandarharjo Kota Semarang agar menjadi agen sociopreneur yang mampu menjadi pendamping dan fasilitator untuk anak usia sekolah melalui kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis projek STEAM dan meningkatkan produktifitas ibu-ibu secara ekonomi melalui kegiatan green economy. Metode yang dilaksanakan dalam kegiatan ini meliputi persiapan, sosialiasasi program, workshop pelatihan, penerapan teknologi dan pendampingan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah terbentuknya Graha STEAM yang berlokasi di balai RW Kelurahan Bandarharjo sebagai pusat kegiatan STEAM anak usia sekolah serta pemberdayaan anak-anak usia sekolah, remaja dan ibu-ibu melalui kegiatan sociopreneur berbasis green economy; para remaja karang taruna dan anak-anak mendapatkan keterampilan 4C (creative thinking, critical thinking and problem solving, communication, and collaboration) melalui Engineering Design Process (EDP) STEAM dalam mendesain, mengujicobakan, mengevaluasi hingga menghasilkan produk Rocket STEAM dan Windmill STEAM challenge yang berfungsi dengan baik secara berkelompok; para ibu di lingkungan kelurahan Bandarharjo Kota Semarang memiliki keterampilan teori dan praktik untuk memanfaatkan limbah botol dan plastik menjadi Ecobrick yang dapat dimanfaatkan secara ekonomis maupun estetika sebagai kursi; dan terciptanya platform aplikasi steam.mulasi berbasis android yang memberikan akses secara digital bagi anak-anak dengan difasilitasi oleh remaja Karang Taruna Madya Bandarharjo dalam melakukan aktivitas STEAM.

Abstract

[English]: The article aims to reveal how pre-service mathematics teachers (PMTs) identify the connection between ring theory and the mathematics topics in secondary schools in Indonesia. The data was collected from the students' workgroup as a part of course assignments in ring theory course in 6th semester. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, the identified mathematical connections by the PMTs were analyzed through the concept-by-concept framework. The findings show that connection that PMTs made is categorized as concept-by-concept comparison through common features. They could elaborate on the connected topic explicitly at some points and connect the mathematical ideas from ring theory to the school mathematics topics even though they do not reveal all the existing connections. For mathematics educators who teach advanced algebra, the finding could be a reference for designing a course that enables PMTs to be more aware of the mathematical connections which will be beneficial for their future roles as mathematics teachers. Keywords: Mathematical connections, Pre-service mathematics teachers, Ring theory, School mathematics [Bahasa]: Artikel ini bertujuan mengungkap bagaimana calon guru matematika mengidentifikasi koneksi antara teori Ring dengan topik matematika sekolah di Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan dari hasil kerja kelompok siswa sebagai bagian tugas mata kuliah teori Ring pada semester 6. Melalui pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, koneksi matematika yang diidentifikasi oleh calon guru dianalisis menggunakan kerangka kerja konsep-dengan-konsep. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa koneksi yang dihasilkan calon guru merupakan kategori perbandingan konsep-dengan-konsep yang masih bersifat umum. Calon guru bisa mengelaborasi beberapa koneksi topik matematika secara eksplisit dan menghubungkan ide matematika dari teori Ring terhadap topik matematika sekolah walaupun belum mengungkap semua koneksi yang ada. Untuk pendidik calon guru matematika yang mengajar aljabar lanjut, hasil penelitian ini bisa menjadi panduan untuk merancang (mata) kuliah yang memungkinkan calon guru lebih sadar terkait koneksi matematika yang akan memberikan manfaat untuk peran mereka sebagai guru matematika. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a difference in the average score and the effectiveness of problem based learning with the mathematics model eliciting activities approach to problem solving ability. The type of study is a quantitative research with a quasi experimental design using a pretest-posttest only control group design. The population in this study was class VIII SMPN 5 Jepara in the academic year 2022/2023 which consist of two classes. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling technique, class VIII A was the control class and class VIII B was the experimental class. The data obtained through the pretest and posttest values were then processed by normality test, homogeneity test, T-Test, and N-Gain. The results obtained from the T-Test is a problem based learning model with an approach model of bringing up mathematical activities with a number of respondents 32 students and a mean of 81.22. While the control class taught by conventional learning has 31 students as respondents and the mean is 71.65. The value of t_count = 6.011 and a significance level of 5% obtained t_table = 1.999. Based on the t value, it can be written t_table (5% = 1.999) < t_count (6.011), then the results of the data analysis can be said that  is rejected and   is accepted so that "there is a difference in the average problem-solving ability of students in class that uses the learning problem learning model raises students' mathematical activities. The next test is the N-Gain test. It is found that the experimental class mathematical problem solving is better than the control class, namely the increase in the experimental class has a medium category that is 0.47 and the increase in the control class has a low category that is 0.21 so that it can be said to be increasing and effective.

Abstract

Graha STEAM assistance through Appropriate Technology (TTG): The Steam.mulation application aims to support the learning achievements of school-age youth who have lost their enthusiasm for learning as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. This community service activity is carried out to help children develop 21st century learning skills such as critical thinking and problem solving, creative thinking, collaboration and communication (4C) by mentoring STEAM learning activities and implementing TTG using an Android-based application Steam.mulation. Data on TTG users' responses to improving 4C capabilities was collected by distributing questionnaires to Graha STEAM mentoring participants. The questionnaire included 11 main questions about the application and its perceived benefits. Participants had installed and used the steam application prior to completing the questionnaire. Respondents filled out the questionnaire based on their current situation. The mentoring questionnaire, which was administered using the TTG Steam.mulation application, received a very positive response. Overall, the response provided is excellent and has the potential to improve 4C capabilities
