Abstract

This literature review analyzes the use of various learning media in Social Studies learning, especially the economic activities topic in grade V elementary school. The study aims to identify the dominant media types, describe their pedagogical strengths, and formulate recommendations for media selection that fit the characteristics of economic activities content. The review employed a descriptive qualitative literature review by examining 15 Indonesian-language journal articles published from 2020 to 2025. The selected studies were analyzed through reduction, categorization, comparison, and synthesis of findings. The results indicate that visual media, audio-visual media, contextual video, posters, interactive multimedia, technology-based media, and local-culture-based media consistently support learning motivation, conceptual understanding, and student engagement in Social Studies. For economic activities content, the most relevant media are those that visualize processes, present concrete examples from students’ surroundings, and encourage active discussion and observation. The study concludes that no single medium is universally superior; effectiveness depends on the alignment among learning objectives, learner characteristics, classroom conditions, and the sequence of learning activities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pesatnya arus globalisasi yang memicu perilaku imitasi budaya asing di kalangan peserta didik, sehingga berdampak pada pergeseran nilai sopan santun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk perilaku imitasi budaya asing dan dampaknya terhadap karakter sopan santun siswa dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi literatur. Data dikumpulkan secara sistematis melalui aplikasi Publish or Perish pada basis data Google Scholar dengan kriteria sumber berupa artikel jurnal ilmiah, buku, dan tesis yang relevan dalam rentang waktu 2021 hingga 2026.  Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik analisis isi (content analysis), yang meliputi tahap reduksi data dari berbagai sumber, display data untuk membandingkan temuan, serta penarikan kesimpulan guna menyintesis teori ekologi perkembangan dalam konteks pembelajaran IPS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemudahan akses platform digital seperti YouTube dan TikTok mendorong siswa meniru gaya hidup luar negeri yang seringkali bertentangan dengan norma lokal. Dampak signifikannya meliputi penurunan rasa hormat kepada guru, penggunaan bahasa yang kurang santun, dan meningkatnya sikap individualistik. Pembelajaran IPS memiliki peran strategis dalam membekali siswa kemampuan menyaring pengaruh asing, namun efektivitasnya masih terhambat oleh fokus yang terlalu dominan pada aspek kognitif. Kesimpulannya, penguatan nilai karakter dan pengawasan penggunaan teknologi sangat diperlukan untuk menjaga identitas budaya bangsa di era global.

Abstract

Globalisasi merupakan fenomena yang tidak dapat dihindari dan berdampak luas terhadap kehidupan, termasuk pada siswa sekolah dasar. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan peran pendidikan yang mampu membekali siswa dengan pemahaman global serta karakter yang kuat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) dalam menanamkan pemahaman globalisasi berbasis Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif melalui analisis berbagai sumber ilmiah yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran IPS berperan strategis dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, keterampilan sosial, serta membentuk karakter siswa agar mampu menyikapi globalisasi secara bijak. Namun, implementasinya masih menghadapi kendala seperti metode pembelajaran yang kurang variatif, keterbatasan media, serta belum optimalnya pemanfaatan teknologi dan integrasi nilai-nilai SDGs, khususnya pada aspek afektif. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan inovasi pembelajaran yang kontekstual, interaktif, dan berbasis teknologi serta peningkatan kompetensi guru. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran IPS diharapkan mampu menghasilkan generasi yang memiliki wawasan global tanpa kehilangan identitas dan nilai budaya bangsa.

Abstract

The COVID-19 outbreak has brought multiple profound effects on the economic sector worldwide. This study aims to determine the socio-economic impact caused by the COVID-19. Considering Indonesian lower-classes, this study used a quantitative method with a descriptive approach and collected 274 respondents. Data were obtained from questionnaire interviews with poor women in rural East Java. The data source was selected using a random sampling technique. Literature studies were carried out to collect data related to research. The results show that the pandemic in Indonesia has caused a tremendous impact on the socio-economic sector of society and women from the lower classes in rural areas. They suffer from huge losses ranging from reduced income to loss of work. This study also highlights the Work From Home (WFH) policy, which cannot be implemented on the lower classes because many of them are laid off, and some employees who continue to work are at risk of disease exposure. Likewise, the COVID-19 pandemic and Work From Home (WFH) policy evoke several problems for women. The household responsibility of women is proven to increase during the pandemic. The women who do WFH seem to be preoccupied in two roles, first, as a worker, second, as a housewife who assists the household. Specifically, it means women are required to do domestic and public work. Therefore, gender awareness is needed to minimize women’s disadvantages in this case.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic impacted the social and economic sectors. Family, the smallest social unit, is experiencing the impact, particularly for the woman as single-parent. Being a single parent is either a choice, decision, or condition that must be accepted due to the spouse’s passing or other condition. Single parents carried numerous burdens alone, including earning a living and raising the children. These burdens have a significant impact on single parents. This study aims to reveal single-parent families’ survival mechanisms. The research applied a qualitative method by interviewing single mothers from university students in East Java Province, Indonesia. This study used the theory of survival mechanism proposed by James Scott. The study found that instabilities generated by the COVID-19 pandemic produced enormous diminishing income. Such ordeals faced by single parents are burdensome because they initially had to support the family amid the feeble economy. Income vulnerability becomes a deep concern for single mothers. Pandemic COVID-19 caused these mothers to empower themselves and develop various survival strategies. The mothers from middle-class families live frugally and selective when they buy something they need. While mothers from lower-class families did different survival mechanisms, range from careful spending, owe some money, and open a business using their ex-husband’s savings. Furthermore, they are also working overtime, empowering their children to help with the work, diversifying jobs by opening food stalls up to have an online shop. Therefore, it can be assumed that the COVID-19 pandemic has made single parents struggle even more to fulfil their family needs.

Abstract

Sexual violence during dating is a serious issue. The increased sexual violence during dating demonstrates that this phenomenon is becoming increasingly dangerous. This study investigates the gender relationship between perpetrators and victims of sexual violence during dating among university students. This study employed a mixed method. This study included 404 male and female students who had experienced sexual violence as respondents. This study discovered various types of sexual violence that occurred in the context of a loving relationship pattern. The perpetrators tend to control and manipulate the victim, making them want to do whatever they want. The victim loved the perpetrator excessively and was forced to serve the perpetrator’s sexual desires as a form of attention and love for the partner, even though the victim was undergoing psychological treatment. Love is transformed into a “desire to have,” causing the individual to lose himself. The subject has become an object as a result of the dating relationship. The perpetrator was repeatedly abused and was very possessive of their partner. The perpetrator did not consider their partner as a subject but rather as an object for negative emotions that significantly impacted the victim. Repeated sexual violence indicates a dating relationship that leads to a controlling relationship. This occurs because the perpetrator’s hegemony over the victim is carried out persuasively by convincing the victim to approve of the perpetrator’s actions.

Abstract

In the digital era, the utilization of social media is very important. In the world of education, social media has been massively used since the COVID-19 pandemic, where learning is mainly done online. This study aims to examine the utilization of social media in a flipped classroom to develop blended learning in elementary schools in rural areas. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive research type. The utilization of social media for learning media makes it easier for someone to understand certain learning materials because wherever and whenever we can access the learning media and can even be repeated. In addition, through social media, students and teachers can also share learning information easily. The utilization of social media for learning is very necessary even in the post-pandemic era because science and technology will continue to develop hand in hand. The utilization of social media is the right step in achieving an interactive and quality learning process. The existence of social media platforms makes it easier for students to explore information and knowledge, as well as play an active role, such as asking questions and digging deeper into what they don't know.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masvarakat melalui program Kuliah Keria Nvata Tematik (KKN-T) Universitas Trunojoyo Madura di SDN Bugih 3 dilaksanakan dengan tujuan utama untuk meningkatkan kreativitas siswa melalui pelatihan pembuatan kerajinan ecoprint. Kegiatan ini berangkat dari pentingnya mengembangkan potensi dan daya imajinasi siswa sejak dini, sekaligus menumbuhkan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan sekitar. Pelatihan ecoprint dipilih karena relevan dengan kondisi sekolah yang memiliki lingkungan asri serta kaya akan sumber bahan alami seperti daun dan bunga yang mudah ditemukan di sekitar sekolah. Metode yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif dengan beberapa tahapan, yaitu sosialisasi, praktik langsung, dan evaluasi hasil karya. Tahap sosialisasi bertujuan memperkenalkan konsep, teknik, serta manfaat ecoprint dari sisi estetika maupun ramah lingkungan. Pada tahap praktik, siswa diajak untuk menerapkan teknik pencetakan warna alami pada kain menggunakan daun dan bunga hasil eksplorasi mereka sendiri. Proses ini melatih keterampilan motorik halus, kerja sama, serta kreativitas individu. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa yang tampak dari keberagaman motif dan desain ecoprint Selain itu, iswa menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi, rasa ingin tahu, serta kesadaran untuk memanfaatkan alam secara bijak. Program ini terbukti efektif dalam menumbuhkan kreativitas dan dapat dijadikan model pembelajaran berbasis alam yang berkelanjutan di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesehatan dan kebugaran masyarakat Kelurahan Bugih, Pamekasan, Jawa Timur, melalui senam sehat bersama. Mahasiswa KKN-T Universitas Trunodjoyo Madura menginisiasi program ini untuk membangun kesadaran akan pentingnya gaya hidup aktif. Senam rutin setiap Minggu pagi melibatkan masyarakat dari anak-anak hingga lansia, dipandu instruktur profesional. Hasilnya, partisipasi dan antusiasme warga meningkat, kebugaran tubuh dan mental membaik, serta hubungan sosial antarwarga mengerat. Program ini berpotensi menjadi gerakan kesehatan berbasis komunitas yang berkelanjutan

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted in response to the limited development of critical thinking abilities among elementary school students, particularly in learning activities related to character and characterization, which are still frequently dominated by teacher-centered instruction. Furthermore, empirical investigations concerning the application of the PQ4R strategy in Indonesian language instruction at the elementary education level remain relatively scarce. The objective of this study was to examine the influence of the PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) learning method on the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students at SDN Bugih 1 Pamekasan. A quantitative method was applied using a one-group pretest–posttest research design involving 18 students selected through a total sampling technique. Research data were obtained through essay-based assessments and processed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and the sign test with SPSS software assistance. The findings demonstrated a noticeable enhancement in students’ critical thinking performance following the implementation of the PQ4R method, reflected in the higher posttest scores and a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). These results suggest that PQ4R effectively facilitates students in interpreting, assessing, and formulating conclusions from information in a more organized and analytical manner. Consequently, the PQ4R approach may serve as an effective instructional alternative for strengthening cognitive participation and fostering critical thinking competencies in Indonesian language learning. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan karena kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah dasar pada materi tokoh dan penokohan masih tergolong rendah, yang dipengaruhi oleh proses pembelajaran yang cenderung berorientasi pada guru. Di samping itu, kajian mengenai penerapan metode PQ4R dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di tingkat sekolah dasar belum banyak dilakukan secara mendalam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas IV SDN Bugih 1 Pamekasan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest yang melibatkan 18 siswa melalui teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan tes uraian, kemudian dianalisis melalui uji Shapiro-Wilk dan sign test dengan bantuan SPSS. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa setelah penerapan metode PQ4R, yang terlihat dari kenaikan skor posttest serta nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (<0,05). Temuan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa metode PQ4R efektif dalam membantu siswa memahami, menelaah, serta menarik kesimpulan dari informasi secara lebih terstruktur. Oleh karena itu, metode PQ4R dapat dijadikan salah satu alternatif strategi pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan kognitif dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia.
