Abstract

Human activities such as uncontrolled industrialization, deforestation, and the exploitation of natural resources have caused severe environmental degradation, and this global ecological crisis also involves Indonesia. The presence of educational methods that can foster ecological ethics and responsibility is necessary due to the low awareness of environmental conservation. In such circumstances, Islamic education holds a strategic role because it integrates spiritual, moral, and social principles related to environmental preservation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the efforts made by Islamic higher education institutions to enhance their curricula by incorporating environmental awareness to support sustainable development. This library research employs a descriptive qualitative approach and content analysis of national and international scholarly literature (2020–2025). The results show that Islamic values such as khilafah (stewardship), mizan (balance), ‘adl (justice), and amanah (trustworthiness) serve as essential foundations for developing environmental education in Islamic universities. These values can be implemented through cross-disciplinary integration, interdisciplinary approaches, action-based ecological activities, and the use of digital media for green literacy. However, there are several challenges in strengthening these educational programs. Lecturers have limited understanding of ecopedagogy, there is a lack of policy and budgetary support, and students demonstrate low environmental awareness. According to this study, Islamic education has the potential to become a transformational tool for producing a generation of Muslims who are faithful, intelligent, and environmentally conscious. This aligns with Islamic values and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

Krisis lingkungan global yang semakin kompleks, seperti pencemaran udara, deforestasi, dan perubahan iklim, menunjukkan adanya kegagalan manusia dalam menjalankan perannya sebagai khalifah di muka bumi. Islam memandang alam sebagai amanah ilahi yang harus dijaga keseimbangannya, sebagaimana ditegaskan dalam Al-Qur’an dan Sunnah. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan lingkungan dalam Islam memiliki posisi strategis dalam membentuk kesadaran ekologis yang berakar pada nilai-nilai tauhid, khalifah, dan amanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep dasar, implementasi, serta peran perguruan tinggi Islam dalam menumbuhkan kesadaran ekologis mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka (library research) dengan menelaah karya ilmiah dosen UIN Raden Intan Lampung dan berbagai literatur relevan lainnya. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan lingkungan berbasis Islam tidak hanya menekankan aspek kognitif, tetapi juga dimensi spiritual dan moral sebagai manifestasi penghambaan kepada Allah SWT. Perguruan tinggi Islam, khususnya UIN Raden Intan Lampung, telah mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai ekologis ke dalam kurikulum, kegiatan green campus, serta dakwah berbasis lingkungan. Upaya ini berperan penting dalam membentuk karakter mahasiswa yang peduli lingkungan dan memiliki tanggung jawab sosial ekologis. Dengan demikian, pendidikan lingkungan dalam perspektif Islam merupakan instrumen penting dalam membangun generasi beriman, berilmu, dan berakhlak ekologis, yang menjadi agen perubahan bagi keberlanjutan kehidupan di masa depan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of flannel board media on data presentation concept on the cognitive abilities of 5th students of SD Negeri 3 Peukan Pidie. The research design used by the researcher is an experimental research type with a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest research design. The population in this study amounted to 175 people and the sample of this study was 30 of 5th students SD Negeri 3 Peukan Pidie consisting of 18 male students and 12 female students. Data collection techniques used were observation and tests. The results of the t-test where the significance level was 5% (0.05) obtained t-count 3.855> t-table 2.060. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of flannel board media on students' cognitive abilities on 5th data presentation concept of SD Negeri 3 Peukan Pidie

Abstract

Instructional media plays a crucial role in conveying educational messages, capturing students’ attention, and enhancing their learning motivation. One effective medium to support the learning process is the use of diorama-based media. This community service activity aims to: (1) assist in clarifying the presentation of learning materials to improve students’ knowledge and understanding through the use of diorama media designed by students of the PGMI Program at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Tarbiyah Al-Hilal Sigli; and (2) facilitate collaborative learning between students of MIN 18 Pidie and university students through inter-institutional cooperation. This activity employed a qualitative descriptive method with a participatory approach. The results indicated that the presentation of the diorama media was carried out smoothly and received positive responses from the students. As a combination of visual elements and three-dimensional forms, the diorama effectively represents subject matter in a realistic way, enhances learning motivation, and provides students with direct learning experiences. In conclusion, diorama media not only offers in-depth visualization of the subject matter but also improves students’ memory retention through direct engagement with attractive and contextual visual media.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of a democratic leadership style by a school principal in improving educational quality. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was employed to explore leadership practices within the school context. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and educational staff. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing to ensure systematic interpretation. The findings reveal that the principal implemented democratic leadership by actively involving teachers in decision-making processes, fostering open communication, distributing responsibilities proportionally, and providing trust and recognition for teacher performance. These practices contributed to the improvement of educational quality, reflected in enhanced instructional processes, increased teacher motivation and professionalism, and the development of a collaborative and quality-oriented school culture. The study implies that democratic leadership serves as an effective strategic approach for strengthening educational quality, particularly in schools facing resource limitations.
