Abstract

Educational planning is a systematic effort to achieve the desired educational goals, and can be divided into several types based on scale, time and specific goals. Types of educational planning include strategic, operational, curriculum and financing planning. Strategic planning focuses on achieving the long-term vision of the education system, taking into account external and internal factors that can influence the direction of national education. Meanwhile, operational planning is more practical and oriented towards the implementation of daily educational activities at the institutional level. Curriculum planning focuses on developing and structuring teaching materials to meet learning needs in line with current developments and job market demands. Financing planning involves managing resources to support the sustainability of planned educational programs. Each type of planning is interrelated and has an important role in creating an education system that is effective, efficient and responsive to change. This article will review in more depth the characteristics of each type of educational planning, the challenges faced in its implementation, as well as recommendations for strengthening integration between types of planning in order to achieve better educational goals.

Abstract

The focus of this research is on how Islamic religious teachers can implement environmental awareness attitudes at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Falah Tanjung Baru Merbabu Mataram, South Lampung using a qualitative case study approach. Primary data consists of: teachers, students, and school administrators. In this research, interview, observation, and documentation techniques were used to collect data. Furthermore, the author uses data triangulation techniques to ensure that the data is accurate. The results of this study indicate that maintaining environmental cleanliness at MTs Nurul Falah involves various programs and activities designed to increase the awareness and participation of students, teachers, and the community. Programs such as tree planting, daily and monthly cleanliness systems, and recycling education have shown positive results in increasing students' awareness of the importance of maintaining cleanliness and environmental sustainability. However, several challenges still need to be addressed, including the lack of separation between the school and the surrounding environment, the absence of a canteen, low student awareness, limited cleanliness facilities, and inconsistent supervision.

Abstract

Recruitment and selection processes play a crucial role in determining the quality and performance of employees within organizations. This study investigates the impact of recruitment and selection on employee performance, particularly in relation to job placement in various organizations. A literature review methodology was employed to examine recent research on how effective recruitment and selection strategies influence organizational outcomes, employee satisfaction, and job performance. Findings from various studies suggest that competency-based recruitment and selection lead to higher employee performance and productivity. Additionally, transparent and fair selection processes improve employee engagement, motivation, and retention. The role of technology in recruitment and selection has also been highlighted as a key factor in enhancing efficiency and reducing biases in the selection process. However, despite the advantages of technological tools, human judgment remains critical in evaluating candidates’ fit with organizational culture and job requirements. This study concludes that recruitment and selection processes, when conducted effectively, significantly contribute to enhancing employee performance and organizational success.

Abstract

The implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) protocols in schools is essential for fostering a safe, healthy, and productive learning environment. This study aims to analyze how OHS protocols are applied in Integrated Islamic Schools (SIT) by reviewing recent literature published between 2020 and 2025. Using a literature review method, this research identifies five key themes: integration of Islamic values, school leadership, student participation, institutional readiness, and social collaboration. The findings show that values such as amanah (responsibility), ihsan (excellence), and ukhuwah (brotherhood) strengthen the internalization of safety culture in SIT environments. Leadership that is transformational and religiously grounded plays a crucial role in shaping sustainable OHS practices. However, various systemic limitations, including lack of resources, contextual SOPs, and formal reporting systems, continue to hinder optimal implementation. This study concludes that OHS protocols in SIT require an adaptive, integrative, and values-based approach that aligns with the spiritual and structural uniqueness of Islamic education institutions.

Abstract

Training and human resource (HR) development play a crucial role in enhancing workplace productivity, particularly among teachers. Competent educators can significantly influence the quality of teaching and student learning outcomes. At SMK Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung, vocational teacher training is conducted regularly; however, it often serves as a mere formality and fails to effectively improve teacher competencies. Therefore, evaluating the effectiveness of these training programs is essential to ensure that educational objectives are successfully achieved. This study aims to examine the impact of training and HR development on teacher productivity and to identify the factors that influence training quality at SMKN 2 Bandar Lampung. A quantitative research approach was employed, using surveys administered to vocational teachers. The findings reveal a significant relationship between training and increased teacher productivity. These results underscore the importance of continuous, well-structured, and relevant training programs in enhancing teacher performance, which ultimately contributes to improved educational quality and student achievement. This research offers valuable insights for the development of more effective training policies within the context of vocational education.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the contribution of the driving teacher in improving the quality of the driving school at SMAN 2 Bandar Lampung. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research focus includes the role of the driving teacher in internal training, supervision between teachers, and the development of learning modules that support the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. The results of the study show that the driving teacher plays an active role in improving the professional competence of teachers through internal training, strengthening collaboration and the quality of learning through supervision between teachers, and contributing to the development of an innovative curriculum. These contributions have a positive impact on improving the quality of learning, school management, and a more productive school culture. This research provides an empirical picture that can be used as material for evaluating and developing the mobilising teacher program in the future, as well as helping policy makers in optimising the role of mobilising teachers as agents of change in mobilising schools.

Abstract

Compensation in Islamic educational institutions is not only interpreted as a material reward, but must also be based on sharia values as a manifestation of the principles of justice, balance, and moral responsibility. This research aims to examine how the integration of sharia values in the compensation system can act as an effective strategy in increasing employee loyalty in Islamic educational institutions. Using a qualitative approach through literature review and thematic analysis, the study found that a compensation system that adopts sharia principles such as justice (‘adl), maslahat, and amanah - is able to build employees’ emotional and spiritual attachment to the institution. Employee loyalty increases along with transparency, contribution-based rewards, and certainty and blessings in income. The findings emphasise the urgency of a holistic approach to human resource management based on Islamic values to create loyal, professional and dedicated employees.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between work motivation and work discipline with teacher performance at SD IT Baitul Insan. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of the interrelation between variables within the social context of an integrated Islamic school. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that work motivation both intrinsic (such as a sense of calling and devotion) and extrinsic (such as incentives and appreciation) plays a crucial role in driving teachers’ enthusiasm. Work discipline, reflected in punctuality, adherence to school rules, and administrative responsibility, also contributes significantly to teacher professionalism. Teacher performance, as the final output, is greatly influenced by the synergy between motivation and discipline. Teachers with high motivation and strong discipline demonstrate optimal performance, whereas an imbalance between these factors tends to lower work quality. This study highlights the importance of school management that fosters motivation and cultivates a disciplined work culture to improve educational quality.

Abstract

Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor is a well-known Islamic boarding school that applies a distinctive human resource (HR) development model rooted in moral values and internal leadership training. As educational management becomes increasingly complex, optimizing HR presents specific challenges for Gontor. This study aims to explore how Gontor develops and manages its human resources while identifying key challenges and the strategies used to address them. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that Gontor’s internal cadre system, value-driven work culture based on sincerity (ikhlas), and strong alumni support serve as pillars of its HR system. The challenges identified include leadership regeneration, technological adaptation, and work-related fatigue. Solutions include continuous training, administrative digitalization, and early-stage commitment building. These insights offer valuable lessons for value-based educational institutions seeking to develop sustainable HR systems without reliance on financial incentives.

Abstract

Religious leadership in Islamic educational institutions plays a strategic role in shaping a humanistic and ethical organizational culture. Amid growing moral challenges and value crises in education, there is a pressing need for leadership that is not only managerial but also deeply rooted in spiritual values. This study aims to analyze the role of religious leadership in developing an organizational culture that emphasizes human dignity and strengthens ethical values in educational governance. Using a literature review approach, this article examines recent studies related to religious leadership, organizational culture, and Islamic educational ethics. The findings reveal that the core characteristics of religious leaders include integrity, exemplary conduct, and strong adherence to Islamic teachings, which are reflected in their daily behavior and institutional policies. The organizational culture fostered by such leadership tends to be inclusive, participatory, and anchored in values such as rahmah (compassion), justice, and trustworthiness. Moreover, ethical values are not merely formal norms but are internalized within the collective behavior of school communities. The study concludes that religious leadership serves as a foundational pillar in creating a sustainable and dignified Islamic education ecosystem. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of Islamic leadership models that are relevant to contemporary educational management needs.
