Abstract

The challenge faced in basic education is how to present learning materials so that they are interesting, relevant, and able to encourage students to be motivated to learn actively. This study aims to find out whether there is a difference and influence of the PhET Virtual Lab Assisted PBL Model on Energy Transformation Material on the Learning Motivation of SDN Triharjo State Elementary School Students. The methodology adopted is a Quantitative approach quasi-experimental. The analysis use normality test, homogeneity of variance test, independent sample, and paired sample t test. The results of the study that sig. independent sample test 0.00 < 0.05 (there’s different with applying the PhET Virtual Lab of 44.09 and not applying the PhET Virtual Lab of 37.73) and sig. paired sample t test (H0 is rejected). So, the PBL Model assisted by PhET Virtual Lab has a significant influence on students motivation which is higher compared to the PBL Model without the assistance of PhET Virtual Lab of Triharjo State Elementary School Students.

Abstract

According to some elementary school students, science subject matter is included in the category of difficult and less interesting material to learn. Because most of the materials in Science Lessons are abstract. This causes a lack of student motivation and suboptimal learning outcomes. Responding to these challenges, many learning media have been developed, one of which is android-based learning media which is desired to be one of the innovative solutions to overcome challenges in science learning. This study aims to analyze the validity and effectiveness of android-based learning media, especially in science learning in elementary schools in an effort to increase student motivation and learning outcomes. The methodology in this study is by means of a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) which involves 21 relevant articles that are searched using Harzing's Publish or Perish machine with scopus and crossref reference categories, then processed using the PRISMA flow. The results of this study show that all learning media written in the article show a valid and effective category for increasing student motivation and learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using flipbook media on improving student learning outcomes at Ngrenak State Elementary School on the topic of eating and being eaten by comparing the results of the pretest and posttest. The methodology used is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type with descriptive analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, paired t-test to determine the variance of pretest and posttest data, simple linear regression test to determine the relationship between independent variables and dependent variables and N-Gain test to determine the effectiveness of flipbook media on science learning outcomes with the SPSS version 26 application. The population in this study were all fifth grade students of Ngrenak State Elementary School, totaling 31 students. The results showed that flipbook media had a significant effect on science learning outcomes of fifth grade students of Ngrenak State Elementary School by 79% on the topic of eating and being eaten. Based on the N-Gain test, the level of effectiveness of using flipbook media in improving science learning outcomes was 49%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model assisted by Genially media in improving the activity and learning outcomes of fifth grade students of Triharjo Elementary School in the subject of science. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with the Kemmis and McTaggart model which is carried out in two cycles at Triharjo Elementary School, Sleman, to improve the activity and learning outcomes of fifth grade students in the subject of science. Data were collected through observations of student learning activities using observation sheets and multiple-choice tests of 20 questions that have been validated by material experts. The success of this study was determined based on an increase in student activity that reached a minimum of 75% and student learning outcomes that met the achievement criteria of 80% with a minimum score of 75. This study shows that the implementation of the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model assisted by Genially media is effective in improving the activity and learning outcomes of fifth grade students of Triharjo Elementary School in the subject of science. Before the action, student participation and learning outcomes were still low, but after the implementation of this model, there was a significant increase, especially in Cycle II with an average learning outcome reaching 77.71%. This learning model has been proven to increase student motivation, engagement, and understanding, making it a more effective alternative learning method.

Abstract

The use of project-based collaborative models in learning can hone critical thinking skills in learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of collaborative project-based learning model innovations on the critical thinking skills of elementary school students in science lessons. The research method is a quasi-experiment with one-group pretest-posttest design. The data collection tool uses observation sheets for the implementation of learning models and critical thinking description tests. Indicators of critical thinking are inference, explanation, interpretation, and metacognition. The results of the research obtained in the form of a collaborative project-based learning model ran very well in phase one 92% and phase two 100%. There was an increase in the average pretest score of 56.73 and posttest of 91.57. The results of the effect size test (cohen'd) showed a very high category of 5.94, in the very high category. It can be concluded that collaborative project-based learning models are very effective in improving critical thinking in elementary school science.

Abstract

Students' scientific literacy skills are still categorized as very low, this occurs due to the lack of innovative learning media capable. This research aims to develop educational games based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) to improve the scientific literacy of elementary school students. This research is a type of development research (R&D) with the ADDIE development model. The methods used in this research are quantitative and qualitative methods. Data were collected through model validation assessment sheets, implementation observations, and documentation. The model was tested on 115 fifth-grade students from three elementary schools in Kulon Progo Regency. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively, then analyzed inferentially with a paired sample t-test. The results of the study indicate: (1) the validation of the educational game product obtained an average score of 89.91% from experts and 82.82% from practitioners and (2) The analysis results show a probability value of 0.00 < 0.05, meaning there is a difference between the results of the pretest of science literacy skills and the posttest. So it can be concluded that the development of PjBL-based educational games is proven to be valid, feasible, and effective in improving the scientific literacy of elementary school students.
