Abstract

Halal tourism is becoming increasingly popular among Muslim tourists interested in international travel. Internationally, Muslim tourists who travel a lot are young tourists, on average 24 years old, and have a good education. Statistically, Generation Z dominates travel in Indonesia. Generation Z is a generation born between 1993-2012 (30-11 years old) and known as "digital natives," which means they quickly adapt to digital technologies and are always connected to the internet and social networks. Understanding the behavior of Generation Z has never been separated from using smartphones. So, understanding the behavior of generation Z travelers in using smartphones on the go is important because they are a potential market in the development of the halal tourism industry in the next 10-15 years. This study focuses on understanding the influence of smartphone digital technology on the behavior of generation Z Muslim tourists in Indonesia when traveling in tourist destinations. This study uses an interpretive phenomenological analysis methodology by conducting in-depth interviews and observations of Gen-Z Muslim travelers using smartphones. The data obtained is then processed using NVIVO software. Data analysis used six stages of interpretive phenomenological analysis. The results in the study will show the superordinate theme that arises from the process of interpreting the experiences of the participants with evidence as presented by the participants.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and understand the practices of religious moderation among students at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Mataram University. Employing a qualitative, descriptive-analytical approach, data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The study participants included students, faculty advisors, and the dean’s office staff. Findings revealed inclusive and tolerant student activities, both within religious-based organizations and interfaith initiatives, with full support from the faculty. The faculty is committed to instilling moderate values by fostering mutual respect, rejecting primordialism, upholding the rule of law, promoting nationalism, and resolving conflicts in an accommodative manner. The implementation of religious moderation practices among FKIK UNRAM students has been successful, evidenced by inclusive and tolerant activities, along with strong institutional support.

Abstract

The Fourth Industrial Revolution and Society 5.0 have created a demand for technology-based skills, including Data Science. This community service program aimed to introduce Data Science concepts to students at SMAN 1 Gunung Sari, preparing them for the digital era. Through interactive training sessions covering Data Science basics, data analysis simulations, and career discussions, both students and teachers gained essential foundational knowledge. The results showed an increase in students' knowledge and motivation towards STEM fields, as well as new skills for teachers in integrating data-driven learning. This program also strengthened the school's profile as an institution proactive in preparing students for future technological challenges.

Abstract

Pernikahan dini merupakan masalah sosial yang signifikan di Indonesia, terutama di Lombok Timur, dengan dampak merugikan bagi kesehatan mental dan fisik remaja serta kesejahteraan keluarga. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mencegah pernikahan dini melalui pendekatan perspektif Islam di MTS Jamaluddin Toya. Metode yang digunakan yaitu service learning dengan tahapan observasi awal, survei, dan kegiatan sosialisasi yang melibatkan 58 siswi dari kelas VII, VIII, dan XI. Kegiatan sosialisasi dilaksanakan secara interaktif dan partisipasi, dengan pengujian pemahaman melalui pre-test dan post-test. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman yang signifikan di kalangan siswi, di mana semua peserta mampu menjawab positif pada pertanyaan mengenai usia minimal untuk menikah serta konsekuensi pernikahan dini. Namun, pemahaman tentang cara-cara untuk menghindari pernikahan dini masih perlu ditingkatkan. Temuan ini menunjukkan pentingnya integrasi nilai-nilai Islam dalam pendidikan untuk memberikan wawasan yang lebih baik tentang pernikahan dini. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar untuk merumuskan solusi yang aplikatif dan berkelanjutan dalam konteks lokal guna menangani pernikahan dini secara efektif.

Abstract

The development of the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Pujut district, while driving economic growth, has raised concerns about declining school interest and high dropout rates among local students. This qualitative study, employing interpretive phenomenological methods, explores the experiences and perceptions of education actors, including the vice principal for student affairs, counseling guidance teachers, Mongge madrasah teachers, and the Head of Sukadana Village, to understand the underlying factors. Findings reveal economic constraints as a primary cause of dropout, with many students from low-income families unable to afford education. Early marriage, particularly among female students, is another significant factor influenced by economic, social, and cultural pressures. Additionally, broken homes, unsupportive social environments, the negative influence of social media, and a lack of motivation contribute to the problem. Schools have responded with counseling, parental engagement, and restrictions on mobile phone use. However, deeper issues like early marriage and broken homes necessitate broader interventions involving government policies and socio-cultural change. This research illuminates the complexity of school dropout in the Mandalika SEZ and highlights the need for a comprehensive approach engaging all stakeholders to ensure educational access and success for all students.

Abstract

Pelecehan seksual di kalangan remaja, khususnya di sekolah menengah, merupakan masalah serius yang membutuhkan perhatian. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran siswa tentang pelecehan seksual melalui sosialisasi berbasis perspektif Islam di SMA NW Suralaga, Lombok Timur. Analisis dilakukan terhadap pemahaman siswa sebelum dan sesudah sosialisasi serta dampaknya terhadap sikap mereka. Sosialisasi berlangsung pada 11 November 2024, melibatkan kurang dari 100 siswa, dengan metode penyajian materi, diskusi kelompok, serta kuesioner pre-test dan post-test. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman siswa secara signifikan, dari skor pre-test 40–60 menjadi mayoritas di atas 80 setelah sosialisasi. Temuan ini menegaskan efektivitas pendekatan edukatif berbasis nilai Islam dalam menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang aman dan setara. Kegiatan ini juga menumbuhkan empati serta tanggung jawab sosial siswa. Implikasi pengabdian ini menunjukkan pentingnya edukasi seksual dalam kurikulum atau melalui sosialisasi dengan melibatkan para ahli dan komunitas peduli pencegahan pelecehan seksual. Kata kunci: Pelecehan seksual, Edukasi seksual, Perspektif Islam, Sosialisasi.

Abstract

Balanced nutrition is a crucial aspect of supporting children’s physical and cognitive growth while maintaining overall health. Nutritional imbalances, whether malnutrition or obesity, remain global issues, including in Indonesia. Early education on the importance of healthy eating habits is a strategic step in building community awareness about nutrition. This study was conducted at SD Negeri 13 Ampenan, aiming to improve the understanding of 5th-grade students regarding balanced nutrition through the “Isi Piringku” program. The methods involved a pre-test to assess students’ initial knowledge, delivery of educational material through engaging visual presentations, and an educational quiz in the form of a team-based competition to evaluate understanding. The results showed a significant increase in students’ comprehension, with most answering questions more accurately after the session. The interactive approach created an enjoyable and participatory learning atmosphere, fostering students’ awareness of the importance of nutrition. This activity not only positively impacted students’ nutrition literacy but also contributed to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 2, which focuses on improving community nutrition quality.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in the modern era must be able to combine various methods to be more effective in accordance with the challenges of modern needs. The use of the lecture method needs to be integrated with other methods so that learners can be more student-centered so that they are more active in learning. Project-based learning is a solution by involving students in real projects that are relevant to life so that they can apply Islamic values contextually. This study aims to describe and analyze the application of the method in PAI courses at the University of Mataram using a qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation that are analyzed thematically. The results of the study show that students are actively involved in problem-solving projects such as SDGs issues based on Islamic values. They showed improvements in critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. Although there are challenges such as lack of time for deepening Islamic materials. The benefits of this method strengthen academic and social skills for students, and provide education, practical solutions, and awareness of pressing social issues for society. In conclusion, this project-based learning is quite effective in improving the quality of Islamic learning and is recommended to be combined with various methods such as the lecture method to create more holistic, applicative, and directly beneficial learning for the wider community. This research makes a real contribution to developing education that not only focuses on theory but also produces positive social impacts.

Abstract

Early marriage is a problem that still occurs in West Nusa Tenggara, with East Lombok accounting for 58.1% of cases and ranking second in the province. This phenomenon contributes to the high stunting rate, especially in Keruak District, which recorded 993 stunting cases related to early marriage. This service activity aims to increase the awareness of students at SMKN 1 Keruak about the dangers of early marriage and its impact on stunting. The methods used include counseling, interactive discussions, and training. The results showed an increase in students' knowledge about the risks of early marriage and its impact on children's health. Proper education can change the views of adolescents and contribute to stunting prevention. The significance of this activity lies in raising awareness among adolescents, which is expected to continue through sustainable programs in the future.

Abstract

Isu kesetaraan gender masih menjadi tantangan dalam dunia pendidikan, khususnya di wilayah dengan indeks pembangunan gender rendah seperti Kabupaten Lombok Utara. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berupaya meningkatkan kesadaran kesetaraan gender melalui edukasi berbasis nilai-nilai Islam di SMPN 1 Pemenang. Metode Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini karena metode ini berfokus pada pemanfaatan aset dan potensi yang sudah ada di dalam komunitas sekolah, bukan pada kekurangan mereka. Dengan demikian, siswa diberdayakan sebagai subjek aktif yang menggerakkan perubahan dari dalam, sehingga program lebih berkelanjutan. Hasil utama dari kegiatan ini adalah peningkatan signifikan pemahaman siswa mengenai nilai-nilai kesetaraan gender, yang terbukti dari evaluasi pre-test dan post-test. Manfaat langsung yang dirasakan adalah menurunnya pandangan stereotipikal bias gender di kalangan siswa. Ajaran Islam yang menekankan kesetaraan hak dan tanggung jawab menjadi landasan edukasi. Untuk mengakselerasi terciptanya lingkungan pendidikan yang adil, kolaborasi antara sekolah, keluarga, dan pembuat kebijakan sangat diperlukan.
