Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of development of the ability to recognize alphabet letters in group A children at Darut Taqwa Kindergarten, Kediri City, which was caused by a lack of tools or media for learning to recognize alphabet letters that were able to attract children's attention. The problem to be solved in this research is "Can learning using Bulbinca Media develop the ability to recognize letters of the alphabet in group A children of Darut Taqwa Kindergarten, Kediri City, academic year 2023/2024?" The subjects in this study were 17 children, consisting of 9 boys and 8 girls. This research uses Kemmis & Taggard's Classroom Action Research (PTK) design. The characteristic of this classroom action research is that it is carried out in cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. Data collection instruments in this research used teaching modules, children's performance assessment sheets and learning activity observation sheets. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that learning using Bulbinca Media has been proven to be able to develop the ability to recognize letters of the alphabet in group A children of Darut Taqwa Kindergarten, Kediri City for the 2023/2024 school year. This is evidenced by the increase in the percentage of learning completeness from pre-action to cycle II, namely pre-action by 35%, cycle I by 59% and cycle II by 76%. Because the success/completion of classical learning in learning the ability to recognize alphabet letters using Bulbinca Media Cycle II has exceeded 75%, there is no need for the research to continue to Cycle III.

Abstract

The teaching profession is a critical cornerstone for the success of education in Indonesia. However, maintaining teachers' work motivation poses a significant challenge, particularly in rural areas. This study examines the influence of organizational climate and psychological capital on teachers' work motivation, with need satisfaction serving as a mediating factor. Data were collected from 210 teachers in rural schools using a self-report survey and a convenience sampling technique. Participants completed scales measuring organizational climate, psychological capital, need satisfaction, and intrinsic motivation (interest/pleasure subscale). The study employed quantitative methods, including descriptive analysis of respondent profiles, measurement model analysis, and structural model analysis. Findings from structural equation modeling revealed that both organizational climate and psychological capital significantly influence teachers' work motivation, with need satisfaction acting as a crucial mediator. Organizational climate, as an external factor, significantly impacts need satisfaction and work motivation. Meanwhile, psychological capital, an internal factor, serves as a primary source of need satisfaction, which, in turn, plays a pivotal role in fostering work motivation. These findings underscore the importance of cultivating a supportive work climate and fostering psychological capital to enhance teachers' sense of responsibility and resilience in addressing the complexities of teaching in rural settings. The study highlights the need for a self-determination-oriented teacher culture in rural schools to sustain motivation and improve educational outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract

Balancing work and family demands is a major challenge for working mothers with preschool-aged children, affecting their psychological well-being and quality of childcare. This study aims to systematically review the relationship between work-family balance (WFB), psychological well-being, and the mediating and moderating factors involved. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, 10 empirical articles were selected from an initial pool of 250 based on strict inclusion criteria. The studies focused on working mothers with children aged 0-6 years across diverse cultural and occupational contexts, using quantitative survey designs. Narrative thematic analysis synthesized the findings. Results reveal that WFB significantly enhances psychological well-being, mediated by satisfaction of basic psychological needs (autonomy, competence, relatedness), and moderated by social support and workplace flexibility which strengthen this relationship. The novelty of this study lies in its cross-cultural integration and contextualization in the post-pandemic era, highlighting psychological and structural mechanisms as a foundation for interventions. Practical implications emphasize the necessity for family-friendly workplace policies and psychological interventions tailored to individual needs to support working mothers’ well-being and productivity.

Abstract

Patients with diabetes mellitus frequently experience anxiety that negatively affects their quality of life and treatment adherence. Psychological resources such as resilience and self-efficacy are known to play protective roles, yet the psychological mechanisms explaining their influence on anxiety remain not fully understood. This study examined the mediating role of growth mindset in the relationship between resilience, self-efficacy, and anxiety among patients with diabetes mellitus. A cross-sectional correlational quantitative design using Structural Equation Modeling involved 160 patients with diabetes mellitus at hospitals in Kediri, selected through cluster sampling. Instruments included the resilience scale, self-efficacy scale, Growth Mindset Scale, and anxiety scale. Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS 4.0. Resilience showed a significant negative effect on anxiety, while self-efficacy demonstrated a non-significant negative effect. Resilience and self-efficacy exhibited significant positive effects on growth mindset, and growth mindset demonstrated the strongest negative effect on anxiety. Growth mindset partially mediated the role of resilience on anxiety and fully mediated the role of self-efficacy on anxiety. Growth mindset functions as an active psychological mechanism in reducing anxiety related to disease burden. These findings provide an empirical basis for developing growth mindset-based psychoeducational interventions to strengthen self-efficacy and psychological resilience, thereby reducing anxiety, and improving treatment adherence among patients with diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Background: Anxiety is commonly experienced by patients with chronic illnesses and can affect their decision-making and quality of life. Factors such as risk perception and psychosocial support play a crucial role in determining anxiety levels; however, the relationship between these factors has not been widely studied. Methods: This research employed a cross-sectional design using a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 102 patients with chronic illnesses registered at Undata General Hospital, selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire measuring risk perception, psychosocial support, and anxiety prevention behavior. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression after conducting classical assumption tests. Results: Risk perception and psychosocial support were found to have a significant influence on anxiety prevention (F = 8.586; p < 0.05). Risk perception had a negative effect on anxiety prevention (B = -0.277; p = 0.006), while psychosocial support had a positive effect (B = 0.265; p = 0.007). Both variables explained 14.8% of the variance in anxiety prevention behavior. Conclusion: Strong psychosocial support can help reduce anxiety in patients with chronic illnesses, while high risk perception tends to increase it. Appropriate education and the strengthening of social support may serve as effective strategies to enhance patients' ability to manage anxiety. Therefore, integrating physical and psychosocial management in chronic disease care is essential.
