Abstract

This study aims to identify problems in the field by describing the challenges faced by teachers in implementing the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach to mathematics learning in class X-A. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The data analyzed includes primary and secondary data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis process includes the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, while the validity of the data is tested using triangulation techniques. The results of the study revealed a number of challenges in implementing the TaRL approach, namely: (1) lack of teacher understanding of the TaRL concept and techniques, (2) a heterogeneous classroom environment with 30 students, (3) limited time, costs, and monitoring of learning implementation, (4) minimal resources such as learning devices, and (5) limited training and socialization related to learning planning and evaluation with the TaRL approach. To overcome these challenges, schools or principals need to provide support in the form of training on the TaRL learning approach for teachers, as well as provide adequate facilities, learning resources, and budget allocations that support the implementation of learning.

Abstract

Education and the Society 5.0 era are interconnected through technological advancements that influence the role of teachers, teaching methods, mindsets, and educational media, particularly in mathematics education. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation and impact of technology in mathematics education in the Society 5.0 era. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review design to collect, analyze, and disseminate previous research related to the topic. The findings highlight several pioneers in mathematics education in the Society 5.0 era, such as the importance of integrating technology, technology-based learning approaches, technological tools in mathematics education, digital collaboration and communication, interactive technology, and real-time learning technology. Furthermore, both positive and negative impacts of implementing these technologies were found. Based on the research results, it is recommended that educational institutions integrate technology into mathematics education through teacher training, providing supporting infrastructure, and designing curricula that align with these advancements to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and problem-solving skills of students in facing the challenges of the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

Poetry writing competency in the Merdeka Curriculum is crucial in Indonesian language learning, but many students struggle to express creative ideas due to a lack of innovative teaching strategies. The acrostic technique, chosen for its clear structure and ability to stimulate imagination through keywords, was employed to address this challenge. This study analyzes the effectiveness of the acrostic technique in improving poetry writing skills among class VIII students at State Junior High School 3 Banguntapan. A quasi-experimental method with a Control Group Pre-test and Post-test Design was used, with two classes: the experimental class (40 students) using the acrostic technique and the control class (40 students) using conventional methods. Data were collected through tests and interviews. The findings reveal that the acrostic technique significantly improved students' writing skills compared to conventional methods, with a significance value of 0.000. This study contributes to the development of innovative teaching methods that enhance students' writing abilities in language and literature education.
