Abstract

Learning the pronunciation of letters in reading the Qur'an has a very important role in maintaining the authenticity of the meaning of the verses of the Qur'an. Mistakes in pronouncing the hijaiyah letters can significantly change the meaning of the verses, which has an impact on the understanding and practice of Islamic teachings. Along with the development of digital technology, the use of social media, such as TikTok, offers great potential to improve tajwid learning in a more interactive and accessible way to a wider audience. This study aims to examine the application of the tajwidul method in learning the Qur'an through the TikTok Live platform, with a focus on detecting and correcting errors in pronouncing hijaiyah letters in real time. The research method used is qualitative with a case study design, which includes an analysis of 13 TikTok videos of Ustadz Gifari Putra and direct observation during the TikTok Live session. The results of the study show that direct interaction through TikTok Live is effective in improving students' understanding of correct pronunciation, with the help of clear visualization of mouth and tongue movements. However, technical constraints such as signal quality and limited time to provide personal attention remain challenges in implementing this method. This study contributes to the development of tajwid learning in the digital era, and offers recommendations to improve the quality of tajwid teaching through social media, especially TikTok, by optimizing interactive and visualization features.

Abstract

The Qur'anic Literacy Eradication Training through the LITERAT Learning Model aims to enhance the capacity of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in systematically assessing and teaching Qur'anic literacy. The training involved 50 teachers in Bandung Regency and was conducted as an interactive workshop combining theoretical presentations, simulations, and hands-on practice. The LITERAT model—which consists of seven stages: Listening, Identification, Treatment, Explanation, Reading, Assessment, and Testing—equips participants with the ability to categorize students' Qur'anic reading skills into five levels: TPD1, TPD2, TD, TT, and TM. Before the training, most participants could only make general distinctions between "fluent" and "non-fluent" students in reading the Qur'an. After completing the training, participants reported the ability to apply classification indicators in a more measurable and structured manner. Pre-test results showed an average participant score of 61.5, which increased to 83.2 in the post-test. The majority of participants demonstrated improvement in the accuracy of student assessment classifications. Additionally, the majority of participants stated that the training was highly beneficial. The training strengthened participants' understanding of the LITERAT model and improved their pedagogical and evaluative competencies in Qur'anic instruction. This intervention significantly contributes to empowering teachers as objective, data-driven evaluators of religious literacy.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the phenomenon where students often feel bored and sleepy while attending Islamic Religious Education (PAI) classes. This occurs due to monotonous teaching methods and the use of conventional teaching media. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the strategies implemented by teachers to enhance students motivation and learning outcomes. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles in the fifth grade at SD Negeri 21 Kota Pagar Alam. Data were collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and pre-test and post-test assessments. Qualitative data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman approach, while quantitative data were analyzed using a paired sample T-test with the help of SPSS and Excel 2013. The results showed a significant improvement, with 53% of students scoring above the KKM (Minimum Competency Criteria) in the first cycle, which then increased to 80% in the second cycle. The study concludes that implementing the Game-Based Learning (GBL) model using the snake and ladder game as a learning medium is effective in improving student learning outcomes in PAI subjects.

Abstract

Research conducted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs' Research and Development Agency (Balitbang Kemenag) in 2020, the Indonesian Survey Institute in 2022, and the Indonesian National Counterterrorism Agency in 2023 indicates that radicalism continues to be a significant issue in Indonesia, necessitating a variety of solution proposals to achieve harmony among religious communities. This study examines the social dynamics and interactions among religious communities within the context of the Rice Alms Movement in Kampung Toleransi, Bandung, Indonesia. Employing an ethnographic approach, the research aims to understand how the rice alms movement contributes to the development of social harmony and solidarity in a pluralistic society. The study subjects include five key roles in the community: the Neighborhood Association Head (Ketua RW), Religious Leaders, Community Leaders, Youth Leaders, and Academics. Data collection methods involved in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document studies. Data analysis was performed using NVIVO 12 software. The findings indicate that the Rice Alms Movement has successfully strengthened solidarity and empathy among residents from diverse religious backgrounds, while also reducing economic disparities. The involvement of religious communities and the younger generation are key factors in the success of this movement. This research provides empirical evidence on the role of religious practices in promoting social harmony and tolerance among religious communities. Recommendations for enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of the movement include developing a more organized management system, continuous educational programs, and collaboration with local government and non-governmental organizations. The findings of this study contribute to the academic understanding of the relationship between religion, social solidarity, and community development, and provide practical insights for similar initiatives in other pluralistic societies.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Islamic law in diaspora naturalization, comparing dynamics across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the West. While naturalization has expanded globally due to economic integration, political participation, and security concerns, the role of Islamic law varies regionally. Using a qualitative comparative approach, this research analyzes policies in the three regions, supplemented by a Quantitative Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of Scopus-indexed journals under the PRISMA model. Findings reveal stark contrasts: In the Middle East, Islamic law is central to citizenship, particularly in religion-based status and family law, with deep integration into national legal systems. Southeast Asia adopts a more adaptive approach, prioritizing economic and skill-based naturalization while retaining Islamic principles in marriage and inheritance. Conversely, Western secular frameworks exclude formal recognition of Islamic law in naturalization, though diaspora communities often navigate dual legal realities. The study highlights how regional legal traditions, socio-political contexts, and migration policies shape these disparities. It concludes that Islamic law’s influence persists most strongly in the Middle East, remains contextually flexible in Southeast Asia, and operates informally in the West despite systemic secularization. These insights contribute to debates on religion, migration, and legal pluralism in global citizenship regimes.
