Abstract

This research explores the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in accompanying students during puberty, a critical transition phase in the lives of Muslim adolescents that involves significant physical, emotional, and spiritual changes. Appropriate assistance during this period is crucial to help teenagers understand the changes occurring and carry out their religious responsibilities well. Using a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods, this research involved in-depth interviews with 10 PAI teachers from elementary and junior high schools. The analysis using NVivo 12 shows that the PAI teacher's role includes religious education, emotional guidance, spiritual formation, and social facilitation. Despite facing unique challenges, PAI teachers overcame them with various adaptive and responsive strategies. Through intensive personal guidance, key strategies that have proven effective include creating a supportive and open environment where students feel comfortable discussing sensitive topics. This research highlights the importance of a holistic and integrative approach in assisting puberty and provides practical recommendations such as [specific recommendations] to increase the effectiveness of this assistance. This research contributes to the Islamic religious education literature by providing new insights into the multifaceted role of PAI teachers and the challenges they face, as well as suggesting strategies for improving student support during puberty.

Abstract

The world of education today faces a variety of complex and diverse challenges. One significant challenge is the shift towards the industrial era 4.0, which potentially negatively impacts student morals. This study explores the concept of Sufism akhlaqi as proposed by experts and its implications for teaching Islamic Religious Education (IRE) at a university in Indonesia, aiming to strengthen students' noble morals. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a descriptive-analytical method through literature review. The findings of this study indicate that: (1) Sufism akhlaqi emphasizes the purification of the soul to strengthen students' noble character; (2) The implications of the Sufism akhlaqi concept for IRE teaching support the instructional objectives of fostering faith and piety in students, while also focusing on promoting noble morals. IRE learning materials should integrate the values of Sufism akhlaqi in each relevant subject, and lecturers must serve as role models of noble morals. Dunia pendidikan saat ini menghadapi berbagai tantangan yang kompleks dan beragam. Salah satu tantangan yang cukup besar adalah peralihan menuju era industri 4.0 yang berpotensi memberikan dampak negatif terhadap moral mahasiswa. Penelitian ini mendalami konsep tasawuf akhlaqi yang dikemukakan oleh para ahli dan implikasinya dalam pengajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (IRE) di salah satu universitas di Indonesia, yang bertujuan untuk memantapkan akhlak mulia mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif-analitis melalui tinjauan pustaka. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) tasawuf akhlaqi menekankan pada penyucian jiwa untuk memperkuat akhlak mulia peserta didik; (2) Implikasi konsep tasawuf akhlaqi terhadap pengajaran IRE mendukung tujuan pembelajaran untuk menumbuhkan keimanan dan ketakwaan pada peserta didik, sekaligus fokus pada peningkatan akhlak mulia. Materi pembelajaran IRE hendaknya mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai tasawuf akhlaqi pada setiap mata pelajaran yang relevan, dan dosen harus menjadi teladan akhlak mulia.

Abstract

Abstract Character education is a crucial aspect in forming a young generation that is strong and has integrity. This research aims to explore character training through school programs at SMA Islam Nurul Fikri Boarding School Lembang. The selection of this school as a research object was based on the success of its superior programs, which allegedly had a significant role in shaping student character. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and document study. Data analysis was done using data reduction, display, verification, and conclusion. The results of the research show that the superior programs at SMA Islam Nurul Fikri Boarding School Lembang include Al-Quran tahfidz, science competitions, OSIS activities, extracurriculars, the Adiwiyata School program, child-friendly, Satuan Pendidikan Aman Bencana (SPAB), Cambridge Curriculum, and activities -habituation and acculturation activities effectively shape students' character with religious values, leadership and responsibility. The supporting factors for its success are integrating the program with the school's vision, mission, and motto, a collaboration between foundation management, leaders, and teachers, adequate infrastructure, and active support from parents. Keywords: Character Development, Young Generation, School Programs Abstrak Pendidikan karakter menjadi aspek krusial dalam membentuk generasi muda yang tangguh dan berintegritas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi pembinaan karakter melalui program-program sekolah di SMA Islam Nurul Fikri Boarding School Lembang. Pemilihan sekolah ini sebagai objek penelitian didasarkan pada keberhasilan program-program unggulannya yang disinyalir memiliki peran signifikan dalam membentuk karakter siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, display data, verifikasi data, dan pengambilan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program-program unggulan di SMA Islam Nurul Fikri Boarding School Lembang seperti tahfidz Al-Quran, kompetisi sains, kegiatan OSIS, ekstrakurikuler, program Sekolah Adiwiyata, ramah anak, Satuan Pendidikan Aman Bencana (SPAB), Kurikulum Camridge, serta kegiatan-kegiatan pembiasaan dan pembudayaan efektif membentuk karakter siswa dengan nilai-nilai religius, kepemimpinan, dan tanggung jawab. Faktor pendukung kesuksesannya adalah keterpaduan program dengan visi, misi dan moto sekolah, kolaborasi antara pengelola yayasan, para pimpinan dan guru-guru, sarana prasarana yang memadai, serta dukungan aktif orangtua. Abstract

Dalam era digital yang terus berkembang, integrasi teknologi dalam pendidikan khususnya Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) menjadi semakin penting. Penelitian ini mengkaji implementasi Vocational Education and Training (VET) dalam bidang Media Pembelajaran PAI Berbasis Digital melalui Program Praktisi Mengajar. Tujuan utama dari program ini yaitu untuk memperkuat keterampilan digital mahasiswa sebagai calon guru, meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran, dan membekali mahasiswa keahlian yang relevan untuk dunia kerja modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed-method, adapun data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, survei, observasi, dan studi dokumen. Hasil penelitain menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas mahasiswa yang mengikuti kelas kolaborasi mata kuliah literasi ICT dan Media Pembelajaran PAI mengalami peningkatan keterampilan digital dan lebih siap memasuki dunia kerja. Program Praktisi Mengajar tidak hanya meningkatkan pengalaman pembelajaran tetapi juga membantu mengatasi kesenjangan keterampilan yang dihadapi oleh lulusan yang memasuki dunia kerja. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya memadukan antara pendidikan agama dengan keterampilan praktis melalui pendekatan pembelajaran kolaboratif dan integrasi teknologi digital.

Abstract

Islamic education in Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Bandung City faces the challenge of integrating Islamic values in the general curriculum. To address this issue, this community service program aims to train general subject teachers in integrating Islamic values into daily learning. The activity involved 70 teachers and used interactive training methods, including workshops and group discussions. The focus of the training was on improving teachers' understanding and skills in applying Islamic values, such as honesty, justice, and cooperation, into subjects such as math, science, and social studies. The results of the program showed a significant improvement in teachers' ability to integrate Islamic values effectively, which contributed to stronger student character building. The activity also identified some challenges in implementing the integration of Islamic values, such as limited time and resources. Therefore, continued support and additional resources are needed to ensure the sustainability of this program. The impact of this service program is expected to make a meaningful contribution to improving the quality of Islamic education in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Bandung City and can be replicated in other schools.

Abstract

The utilization of digital media in learning is crucial in the current era of education, especially in training 21st-century skills. This study explores digital media's role in optimizing project-based learning in an Islamic high school in Indonesia. The selection of this school as the research subject is based on the utilization of digital media in the learning process, which has been carried out regularly, so it is beneficial in optimizing project-based learning. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection was conducted through observation, interview, and document analysis. Data analysis techniques include reduction, display, verification, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that examples of project-based learning activities in this school include learning to make dioramas from recycled paper, resin bed lamps, generator mock-ups, environmental campaign posters, and plant naming signs. These project-based learning activities are instrumental in training students' 21st-century critical thinking, creativity, digital literacy, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Digital media in this study acts as an idea generator and inspiration to find much scientific information, not least related to making name signs on a plant. This study indirectly contributes insight into examples of teacher creativity regarding the use of digital media to create interesting and meaningful learning.

Abstract

AbstractThis study analyzes the implementation, challenges, and opportunities of using digital-based learning media in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in Junior High Schools (SMP) in Bandung. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 17 PAI teachers from 17 SMPs. The results showed that although conventional learning media such as textbooks and whiteboards are still dominant, there has been a significant increase in digital media such as PowerPoint, videos, and interactive applications such as Quizizz and Wordwall. Internal challenges teachers face include limited technological knowledge, resistance to change, time constraints, and dependence on traditional teaching methods. External challenges include more technological infrastructure, internet network problems, and limited resources. Nevertheless, integrating digital media offers excellent opportunities to improve the quality of learning, develop 21st-century skills, and prepare students for the digital era. This study recommends comprehensive strategies such as teacher training and professional development, institutional support in providing technological infrastructure, and collaboration between teachers, schools, government, and other stakeholders.Keywords: Learning Media, Digital, Islamic Religious Education, Quality of Learning, Junior High SchoolAbstrakPenelitian ini menganalisis implementasi, tantangan, dan peluang penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis digital dalam Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) di Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun media pembelajaran konvensional seperti buku paket dan papan tulis masih dominan, terdapat peningkatan signifikan dalam penggunaan media digital seperti PowerPoint, video, dan aplikasi interaktif seperti Quizizz dan Wordwall. Tantangan internal yang dihadapi guru meliputi keterbatasan pengetahuan teknologi, resistensi terhadap perubahan, keterbatasan waktu, dan ketergantungan pada metode pengajaran tradisional. Tantangan eksternal mencakup kurangnya infrastruktur teknologi, masalah jaringan internet, dan keterbatasan sumber daya. Meskipun demikian, integrasi media digital menawarkan peluang besar untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, mengembangkan keterampilan abad ke-21, dan mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi era digital. Studi ini merekomendasikan strategi komprehensif seperti pelatihan dan pengembangan profesional bagi guru, dukungan institusional dalam penyediaan infrastruktur teknologi, serta kolaborasi antara guru, sekolah, pemerintah, dan pemangku kepentingan lainnya. Abstract

This study examines the challenges faced by Muslim female students in maintaining their physical appearance while ensuring the validity of their ablution (wudhu), specifically regarding the use of waterproof makeup. A qualitative approach was employed, combining a literature review and survey data collected from 23 Muslim female respondents. The results reveal that most respondents prefer regular makeup over waterproof makeup, with 56.5% disliking waterproof makeup and 43.5% using it infrequently. A significant portion of participants expressed inconsistency in removing makeup, particularly mascara, before performing wudhu, with 60.9% uncertain about the implications of not removing makeup. Despite the benefits of waterproof makeup in terms of longevity, most respondents favoured products that are easier to remove for the sake of convenience during wudhu, although they acknowledged the need for touch-ups afterward. Furthermore, 87% of respondents were aware that wudhu is invalid if water does not reach the skin, and 95.7% recognised the importance of removing waterproof makeup to ensure valid wudhu. These findings highlight the difficulties Muslim female students face in balancing appearance with religious obligations. Abstrak: Studi ini menyoroti tantangan yang dihadapi oleh mahasiswi Muslim dalam menjaga penampilan fisik mereka sambil memastikan keabsahan wudhu, khususnya terkait penggunaan makeup waterproof. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan kajian pustaka dan pengumpulan data melalui survei yang disebarkan menggunakan Google Form. Sebanyak 23 responden yang merupakan mahasiswi Muslimah berpartisipasi dalam survei ini. Hasilnya mengungkapkan bahwa sebagian besar responden lebih menyukai riasan biasa daripada riasan tahan air, dengan 56,5% tidak menyukai riasan tahan air dan 43,5% jarang menggunakannya. Sebagian besar peserta menyatakan ketidakkonsistenan dalam menghapus riasan, terutama maskara, sebelum berwudhu, dengan 60,9% tidak yakin tentang implikasi dari tidak menghapus riasan. Terlepas dari manfaat riasan tahan air dalam hal keawetan, sebagian besar responden lebih menyukai produk yang lebih mudah dihapus demi kenyamanan selama berwudhu, meskipun mereka mengakui perlunya sentuhan ulang setelahnya. Lebih lanjut, 87% responden menyadari bahwa wudhu tidak sah jika air tidak mengenai kulit, dan 95,7% mengakui pentingnya menghapus riasan tahan air untuk memastikan wudhu yang sah. Temuan ini menyoroti kesulitan yang dihadapi siswi Muslim dalam menyeimbangkan penampilan dengan kewajiban agama.

Abstract

Digital literacy, including Islamic Religious Education (IRE), has become essential in modern education. This article discusses the efforts of IRE teachers in improving digital literacy to strengthen students' religious interactions toward forming a Good Digital Citizenship society. This study uses a qualitative approach to explore the experiences and strategies of IRE teachers in Junior High Schools (JHS) and Senior High Schools (SHS) in integrating technology into learning. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with 10 IRE teachers skilled in digital literacy and accustomed to using digital media and content in teaching. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman framework, involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing to identify patterns and themes related to digital literacy integration. The study results show that IRE teachers integrate technology through digital tools such as Google For Education, Quizizz, Canva, and video platforms such as YouTube to enrich the learning experience. Teachers also create digital content such as interactive modules, educational videos, and podcasts, which engage students and expand access to relevant religious information. Additionally, teachers provide digital literacy education that includes training on digital ethics, online security, and responsible social media usage. This study concludes that digital literacy in IRE supports students' technological skills and helps shape their moral character in the digital world. This effort significantly contributes to forming students as good digital citizens who can interact ethically and productively in the digital space. The implications of this study indicate the importance of ongoing digital literacy training for teachers and students to support relevant religious education in the digital era.

Abstract

Ekstremisme agama menjadi tantangan global yang mengancam stabilitas sosial, politik, dan keamanan. Di tengah ancaman fenomena ekstremisme ini, pendidikan agama memiliki peran yang krusial, terutama di perguruan tinggi. Maka, untuk mengetahui peran program keagamaan di perguruan tinggi, peneliti memfokuskan penelitian ini pada peran program keagamaan di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, yaitu kegiatan Seminar Pendidikan Agama Islam yang merupakan agenda yang wajib diikuti oleh Mahasiswa UPI yang mengontrak mata kuliah SPAI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif - kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui penyebaran angket/kuesioner yang disebar kepada 30 mahasiswa Fakultas Pendidikan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial sebagai sumber data primer dan subjek kajian serta dengan melakukan kajian pustaka sebagai sumber data sekunder. Setelah data terkumpul, dilakukan analisis data. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Program Tutorial SPAI di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia memiliki tingkat partisipasi yang tinggi dari mahasiswa dan dapat berperan dalam mencegah ekstremisme dengan menjadi kegiatan kokurikuler pilihan di perguruan tinggi.
