Relational aggression among Indonesian adolescents manifests in social exclusion, rumor?spreading, and the manipulation of friendships, undermining psychological well?being, academic achievement, and the overall school climate. The urgency to address it is heightened because these covert forms often go undetected compared with physical aggression. This study examined the association between emotional maturity and relational aggression among early adolescents. A correlational design was employed with 150 seventh? and eighth?grade students from a public junior high school in Bekasi City, selected through class?based cluster sampling. Two instruments were used: the Emotional Maturity Scale (20 items; ? = .868) and the Relational Aggression Scale (30 items; ? = .937). Analyses included assumption checks (normality and linearity), Pearson’s correlation, and mean comparisons by gender. Results indicated a moderate negative correlation between emotional maturity and relational aggression (r = ?.36; 95% CI [?.49, ?.21]; p < .001), with no significant gender differences. These findings suggest that strengthening emotional maturity may reduce relational aggression and support the implementation of school?based social?emotional learning programs. The original contribution of this study lies in providing up?to?date empirical evidence from Indonesian public junior high schools and in offering culturally attuned, concise adaptations of measures to assess emotional maturity and relational aggression. ABSTRAK Agresi relasional pada remaja Indonesia terus muncul dalam berbagai bentuk seperti pengucilan sosial, penyebaran rumor, dan manipulasi pertemanan yang berdampak pada kesejahteraan psikologis, prestasi akademik, dan iklim sekolah. Urgensi penanganan meningkat karena bentuk agresi ini sering luput dari deteksi dibanding agresi fisik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji hubungan antara kematangan emosional dan agresi relasional pada remaja awal. Desain yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif korelasional dengan partisipan 150 siswa kelas VII-VIII di salah satu SMP negeri di Kota Bekasi yang dipilih melalui cluster (berbasis kelas). Dua instrumen digunakan: Skala Kematangan Emosional (20 aitem; ? = 0,868) dan Skala Agresi Relasional (30 aitem; ? = 0,937). Analisis meliputi uji asumsi (normalitas dan linearitas), korelasi Pearson, serta uji beda berdasarkan jenis kelamin. Hasil menunjukkan korelasi negatif sedang antara kematangan emosional dan agresi relasional (r = -0,36; 95% CI [-0,49, -0,21]; p < 0,001), serta tidak ada perbedaan signifikan antara laki?laki dan perempuan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa peningkatan kematangan emosi berpotensi menurunkan perilaku agresi relasional dan mendukung perlunya program pengembangan kompetensi sosial?emosional berbasis sekolah. Kontribusi orisinal studi ini adalah penyediaan bukti empiris terkini pada konteks SMP negeri Indonesia sekaligus adaptasi singkat alat ukur yang relevan secara kultural untuk menilai kematangan emosional dan agresi relasional.
