Abstract

Translation is a fundamental concept in geometric transformation, teaching the movement of objects without changing their shape, size, or direction. A good understanding of translation can develop students' visualization and spatial skills, which are relevant to various disciplines such as engineering, physics, and architecture. This study integrates translation learning with the context of the game of gobak sodor. This research produces a learning trajectory that contributes to students' understanding of the concept of translation. The design research method used consisted of the following stages: experimental preparation, experimental implementation, and retrospective analysis. Data collection techniques included documentation, observation, and interviews. Data analysis techniques used were qualitative. The study was conducted in grade IX, with eight students participating in the pilot experiment and 14 students participating in the teaching experiment. The results showed that the series of activities contributed to students' understanding of the concept of translation.

Abstract

This study investigates how an Islamic-based international school in Indonesia, Global Islamic School (GIS) Yogyakarta, forms globally minded young citizens through curricular and non-curricular initiatives. Amid the growing importance of global citizenship education (GCE) in the 21st century, the study explores how GIS integrates core global citizenship competencies into its educational vision, pedagogical design, and student development programs. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, document analysis, and classroom observations. Findings indicate that GIS utilizes a four-pillar model within the national curriculum plus framework to cultivate a generation of globally engaged Muslim youth. Additionally, extracurricular programs such as bilingual learning days, international competitions, and educational trips abroad provide meaningful spaces for students to develop global competencies in authentic contexts. This study contributes to the discourse on faith-based approaches to global citizenship education and offers implications for schools cultivating inclusive, ethical, and globally engaged young people.

Abstract

Students' low understanding of fractions is a major obstacle to achieving basic mathematical competence at the primary school level. To address this issue, innovative, engaging, and easy-to-understand learning media are required to help students grasp fraction concepts more effectively. This study aims to design and evaluate a participatory and interactive game-based learning medium called Box Fraction Fun. The Research and Development (R&D) method was employed, using the ADDIE model. Validation by two subject matter experts and two media experts showed that the medium was considered suitable to highly suitable based on a four-level suitability scale. Practicality was assessed through questionnaires given to three fourth-grade students and one teacher at a public elementary school in Bukit Lama district, Palembang, with results indicating that the medium was “very practical.” The effectiveness of the medium was evaluated using pre-test and post-test scores analyzed with N-gain calculations, which demonstrated significant improvement in students’ understanding of fractions. These findings suggest that Box Fraction Fun is highly valid, practical to use, and effective in supporting students’ learning. Theoretically, this study contributes to the literature on the development of interactive game-based mathematics learning media. Practically, it provides teachers with an innovative and effective tool to enhance students’ understanding of fractions.

Abstract

The digital era, especially through platforms like TikTok, has transformed the landscape of public discourse among Indonesia's youth. This research investigates the mechanisms of polarization in the viral socio-cultural trend 'Kabur Aja Dulu' on TikTok, aiming to uncover how algorithmic echo chambers are formed and their impact on digital civic engagement. Utilizing a convergent mixed-methods design, this study combines quantitative analysis of 60 TikTok videos (30 Pro, 30 Contra) with qualitative discourse analysis. The quantitative analysis uses MANOVA to compare user engagement profiles (likes, comments, shares), while the qualitative analysis examines the framing strategies of both sides. Statistical results show that Pro sentiment content significantly achieves higher engagement levels across all metrics (Pillai's Trace = 0.373, p < 0.001) compared to Contra content. Qualitative findings reveal that the Pro camp successfully utilized emotional and aspirational framing (healing, self-care), which resonates more with TikTok's algorithm logic. Conversely, the Contra camp employed normative-critical framing (nationalism, privilege) which is less effective in triggering engagement. It is concluded that polarization is reinforced by algorithmic curation that amplifies affirmative discourse and validates emotions, thus pushing the shift in digital civic practices towards a more therapeutic and individualistic direction, while hindering deliberative public dialogue

Abstract

The low iodine intake, associated with insufficiency of urinary iodine concentration (UIC). Iodine intake is too low, also causes the thyroid gland is unable to maintain adequate hormone secretion, influence the thyroid hypertrophy that causes goitre. This study aimed to examine the relationship of iodine intake, UIC, and goiter on women of childbearing age in endemic areas of iodine deficiency. This cross-sectional observational study was performed 115 randomly selected women of childbearing age at sub-district of Prambanan, Sleman Regency. Iodine intake was measured using 24-hour food recall method, UIC measured by acid digestion method, and goiter measured by palpation method. The association between variables.
