The sandal industry is one of the industries that poses health risks to workers, particularly due to the physical conditions of the work environment and the production process, which serve as potential hazards. One form of control that can be implemented is the measurement of physical factors in the workplaces. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to measure the physical hazard factors, specifically noise and lighting, and to describe the potential health risks faced by workers in a shoe manufacturing company in Surabaya. This research employed an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach, involving 25 respondents selected using a total sampling technique. The study was conducted from Juli to August 2024. Data on respondents’ characteristics were collected through interviews using a questionnaire, while blood pressure was measured using an Omron digital sphygmomanometer. Blood pressure was assessed before and after work on the same day. Physical factors in the work environment, such as noise, were measured using a sound level meter, and lighting was measured using a lux meter. The results showed that the average noise level range from 80.5-82.4 dBA, which l does not exceed the threshold limit value (TLV) of 85 dBA according to the Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 5 of 2018 concerning Occupational Safety and Health in the Work Environment. The average lighting level 107.8 lux, which is below the minimum lighting standard for sewing activities, s (500-700 lux), based on the Minister of Health Regulation No. 70 of 2016 concerning Standards and Requirements for Environmental Health in Industrial Workplaces. Health examinations showed an increase in average systolic and diastolic blood pressure s among the workers. Further examination is required to determine whether physical factors in the work environment contribute to the observed increase in blood pressure among workers in the sandal and shoe industry. Confined space is a high-risk workplace because it contains various sources of danger such as toxic gases, lack of oxygen, and fire risk. PT. Sinergi Gula Nusantara PG Tjoekir has implemented work procedures based on BINWASNAKER No. 113/DJPPK/XI/2006, but evaluation is needed to ensure compliance with the latest regulations, namely Permenaker No. 11 of 2023. The study aimed to evaluate the OSH Requirements in confined space turbine maintenance at PT. SGN PG Tjoekir is by Permenaker no. 11 of 2023, including confined space classification, access restrictions to enter confined spaces, entry permits, safe work procedures, equipment and equipment, and OSH confined space personnel. The type of research method used is qualitative descriptive, namely providing an overview of OSH requirements in a limited space for turbine maintenance. Then the data obtained is compared to its conformity with Permenaker No. 11 of 2023. The results of this study out of 17 conditions that must be met only 60% that have been met. The conditions that have not been met are the classification of confined space, testing and monitoring of hazardous atmospheric gases, labeling and energy isolation forms, supply respirators, testing, and monitoring equipment for hazardous atmospheric gases, penetrating voltage measuring instruments, and OSH confined space personnel. This study concludes that the OSH requirements in confined space turbine maintenance are in the category of lacking. The advice provided by the company can update the entry permit procedure and increase compliance with the latest regulation, namely Permenaker No. 11 of 2023 to improve work safety.

Permasalahan pengelolaan limbah organik di sektor Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) masih menjadi tantangan, terutama di wilayah pedesaan seperti Desa Kemiri, Kecamatan Pacet, Kabupaten Mojokerto. Sejak Maret hingga Juni 2025, tidak adanya aktivitas pengangkutan sampah oleh petugas pengankut sampah yang menyebabkan pelaku UMKM membakar limbah organik, yang berdampak pada pencemaran udara dan gangguan kesehatan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan solusi alternatif ramah lingkungan melalui metode banana circle teknik kompos alami berbasis tanaman pisang yang sederhana, murah, dan mudah diterapkan di lingkungan usaha maupun rumah tangga. Metode ini dikenalkan melalui pendekatan edukatif dalam bentuk sosialisasi dan wawancara kepada pelaku UMKM. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta mengenai bahaya pembakaran sampah dan pentingnya prinsip Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) lingkungan. Mayoritas peserta menyatakan metode banana circle mudah diterapkan, efisien secara biaya, serta memberikan manfaat ekologis dan ekonomis berupa pupuk organik. Dengan demikian, banana circle menjadi solusi strategis dalam pengelolaan limbah organik di sektor UMKM dan mendukung terciptanya lingkungan kerja yang sehat dan berkelanjutan.

A major problem frequently faced by the public is clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS). According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health in 2014, health can be achieved by changing unhealthy behaviors into healthy ones and creating a health-supportive environment. Effective measures include handwashing with soap and environmental inspections. This activity aims to increase public awareness of the importance of clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS), while also introducing the dangers of microbiological contamination that can occur on hands and water. Community service activities are carried out through the stages of pre-test, education, post-test, sampling, and sample examination. Of the 34 respondents, the majority experienced a significant reduction in hand bacteria, with 21 showing a reduction in hand bacteria of more than 70% and some reaching 99–100%. Well water examinations at several public facilities for Pekingan village residents showed the presence of Coliform bacteria exceeding the safe limits according to the Ministry of Health Regulation, indicating that the water is not suitable for direct consumption due to possible contamination by domestic waste, septic tank seepage, or poor environmental sanitation. The conclusion of this Community Service activity is that there is an increase in respondents' understanding and an increase in their ability to practice proper handwashing. Water sanitation in public facilities needs to be considered and improved because it should not be used for consumption.

Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Akut merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan yang sering dialami pekerja konstruksi akibat tingginya paparan debu dan kondisi kerja yang kurang aman. Rendahnya pemahaman pekerja mengenai penyebab, gejala, dan pencegahan penyakit ini melatarbelakangi pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan serta kesadaran pekerja terhadap risiko Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Akut dan pentingnya perilaku pencegahan dalam mendukung keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada perusahaan konstruksi Ghalea Elka Persada melalui tahapan koordinasi awal, pengukuran pengetahuan baseline menggunakan tes awal, pemberian edukasi interaktif, dan evaluasi menggunakan tes akhir. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan, dengan rata-rata skor tes akhir meningkat lebih dari 73,8 persen dibandingkan skor tes awal yang berada di bawah 20 persen. Edukasi yang disampaikan secara kontekstual terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi kesehatan pernapasan pekerja. Kegiatan ini menyimpulkan bahwa intervensi edukatif secara langsung di tempat kerja berpotensi besar mendukung pencegahan Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Akut dan memperkuat budaya keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja pada sektor konstruksi.

Background: Welders and grinding work at PT. X is carried out manually with non-ergonomic working postures, such as bending or prolonged standing. This study aims to describe work-related musculoskeletal disorder (MSDs) complaints based on individual characteristics (age, gender) and job-related factors (length of employment, daily working hours, and type of work). Methods: The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, involving 47 respondents using a total population sampling technique. Data were collected using a musculoskeletal complaint survey instrument based on the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 9011:2021. Results: The results showed that the majority of respondents were male (93%), aged 25-34 years (42%), and had 1-5 years of work experience (70%). The most reported MSDs complaints were in the lower back (36%), upper back (55%), and neck (23%). Conclusion: Based on the descriptive analysis, both individual and occupational factors contributed to MSDs complaints, particularly in body parts affected by non-ergonomic working postures. Recommended interventions include proper posture training, provision of ergonomic aids to reduce physical load, and regular health check-ups to decrease the prevalence of MSDs among workers.

The prevalence of chronic energy deficiency(KEK) in Jombang District has a percentage of 15.17% in women who are not pregnant and 12.63% in women of childbearing agewho are pregnant (Kemenkes RI, 2018). The high prevalence of chronic energy deficiency (KEK)in women of childbearing agein JombangDistrict, which exceeds the average in East Java, indicates that there are problems that need special attention. This study aims to analyze the effect of nutrition education with booklet media on preconception nutrition knowledge, attitudes and macronutrient intake of premarital women. This type of research is a quasi-experimental. The design used pre-post test control group design. The results of the study indicate that there is an effect of education with booklet media on nutritional knowledge of premarital women (p = 0,008), there is an effect of education with booklet media on the attitude of premarital women (p = 0,001), there is an effect of education with booklet media on energy intake (p = 0,020), protein (p = 0,025), lemak (p = 0,005), karbohidrat (p = 0,034). Education using booklet media affects preconception nutrition knowledge, attitudes and macronutrient intake. This happens because the booklet media is easy to understand, can be taken anywhere and can be read at any time so that this media isvery effective.

Autokorindo Pratama memiliki 5 line produksi yaitu Side ring line, Disc line, Rim line, Assy line dan Painting line untuk memproduksi velg, dalam proses produksi masih banyak ditemukan pekerjaan yang masih menggunakan penanganan manual dengan tenaga pekerja seperti mendorong, mengangkat dan memindahkan beban. Observasi dan wawancara pada Painting line mendapati keluhan dari para perkerja di sana tentang nyeri pungung bawah dikarenakan melakukan kegiatan angkat angkut dan mendorong berulang. Metode Langkah Pertama Melakukan survey lokasi untuk menemukan pekerjaan yang berisiko menderita low back pain. Tahap kedua Pada tahap kedua, dilakukan persiapan berupa sarana prasarana yang dibutuhkan saat melakukan edukasi, serta pembuatan power point sebagai media penyuluhan. Tahap ketiga Pada tahap ini dilaksanakan edukasi dengan pekerja dan pengerjaan pre test post test sebagai gambaran pengetahuan pekerja sebelum dan sesudah edukasi. Dilanjutkan dengan praktik Mckenzie Exercise dan penggunaan. Hasil : adanya peningkatan pengetahuan para pekerja yang semula hanya 8 pekerja yang skor diatas rata-rata menjadi 13 pekerja. Dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan pekerja dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang low back pain dan faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan terjadinya keluhan tersebut. Pengetahuan ini dapat ditingkatkan melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini. Selain memberikan edukasi pengabdian masyarakat ini juga memberikan cara untuk mengatasi atau meminimalisir low back pain dengan melalui Mckenzie Exercise dan penggunaan support back belt. Kesimpulan Edukasi ini dapat dikatakan berhasil karena adanya peningkatan pengetahuan pekerja terhadap low back paindan cara menangani dengan Mckenzie Exercise dan penggunaan support back belt.

The purpose of this community service activity is to helpincrease the intensity of additional lighting in each work unitthat is still low in lighting intensity. The implementationmethod in this activity starts from a site survey, coordinationwith related parties such as the Surabaya city health officeand the local health center as the coordinator of theoccupational health post. Then measure the intensity oflighting and increase additional lighting on work units withless lighting intensity. The measurement results in all workunits obtained an average lighting intensity value of 107 lux(standard 500 lux). After installing additional local lighting,the results obtained are the intensity of the lighting with anaverage of 928 lux. When viewed from the measurementresults before and after local lighting was installed, there wasan increase in lighting intensity. After the intervention withthe installation of local lighting there was an increase in theintensity of the lighting in accordance with the standardlighting for the type of sewing work. This condition needs tobe maintained so that workers feel comfortable andcomplaints of eye fatigue can be minimized. In addition, it isnecessary to measure periodically to ensure the intensity ofthe lighting is in accordance with the standard.

Dust is one type of potential hazardzs in the workplace that can affect the health of the workers. The occupation that are always exposed to dust is furniture industry workers so that they have higher risk of getting acute respiratory tract infection (ARI) disorder which can interfere with breathing. The wood dust is formed from some of the sawn wood and sanding that will lead to an acute respiratory tract infection. The study aimed to determine the effect of environmental factor and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) against the symptoms of acute respiratory infections in the furniture industry workers. The research method used was quantitative method with observational and cross-sectional research types and it was analysed by using logistic regression test. The population in this study was the workers of the furniture industry at Semarang street, Surabaya City, with a total of 57 people, of which 37 furniture workers as a sample. The results show that most of the workers has symptoms of acute respiratory tract infection. It could be influenced by the environmental factor such as dust exposure that produced wood dust in each manufacturing processes. Additionally, the use of PPE also affected the occurrence of acute respiratory tract infections symptoms in the workers. In conslusion, many factors can influence the occurrence of acute respiratory tract infection symptoms in the furniture industry workers. Therefore, it is necessary to minimize the dust exposure in workers by wearing PPE such as respirators.
