Abstract

Abstract: Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) plays a crucial role in bridging the needs of the industrial world with the goals of sustainable human development. Within the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4.7 on Education for Sustainable Development, this study revisits the philosophy of TVET through three dimensions: realism, heart, and logic. The research aims to uncover the philosophical foundations of TVET within the SDG framework by tracing classical German thought (Kerschensteiner, Spranger, Fischer) alongside modern paradigms rooted in technology, vocational psychology, and educational sustainability. The method employed is an integrative bibliometric-based literature analysis of 1,041 Scopus-indexed articles (20152024), combined with a philosophical review of five major sources from Germany, the United Kingdom, China, and Indonesia. The findings reveal four key insights: (1) Educational realism emphasizes contextual and meaningful work competencies; (2) The dimension of heart highlights moral values, humanity, and psychological well-being within the TVET system; (3) Educational logic is reflected in technology-based curricula that integrate knowledge, skills, and values; and (4) The integration of SDGs fosters ecological awareness and social responsibility. TVET is thus conceptualized as a philosophical system that unites work reality, humanity, and scientific rationality toward a sustainable vocational curriculum for the 21st century.Keyword: Philosophy of TVET; SDGs; vocational ethics; vocational psychology; educational sustainabilityAbstrak: Pendidikan Teknik dan Kejuruan (TVET) berperan penting dalam menjembatani kebutuhan dunia industri dengan tujuan pembangunan manusia berkelanjutan. Dalam konteks Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs), khususnya poin 4.7 tentang Education for Sustainable Development, kajian ini meninjau ulang filsafat TVET melalui tiga dimensi: realisme, hati, dan logika. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap fondasi filosofis TVET dalam kerangka SDGs dengan menelusuri pemikiran klasik Jerman (Kerschensteiner, Spranger, Fischer) serta paradigma modern berbasis teknologi, psikologi vokasional, dan keberlanjutan pendidikan. Metode yang digunakan adalah integrative literature analysis berbasis bibliometrik terhadap 1.041 artikel Scopus (20152024), dipadukan dengan telaah filosofis terhadap lima sumber utama dari Jerman, Inggris, Tiongkok, dan Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan empat temuan utama: (1) realisme pendidikan menekankan kompetensi kerja kontekstual dan bermakna; (2) dimensi hati menyoroti nilai moral, kemanusiaan, dan kesejahteraan psikologis dalam sistem TVET; (3) logika pendidikan tercermin pada kurikulum berbasis teknologi yang menghubungkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan nilai; serta (4) integrasi SDGs menumbuhkan kesadaran ekologis dan tanggung jawab sosial. TVET dipandang sebagai sistem filosofis yang menyatukan realitas kerja, kemanusiaan, dan rasionalitas ilmiah menuju kurikulum kejuruan berkelanjutan abad ke-21.Kata kunci: Filsafat TVET; SDGs; etika vokasional; psikologi kejuruan; keberlanjutan pendidikan.

Abstract

Sejak pandemi covid-19 muncul di indonesia, kebijakan barupun bermunculan, seperti Work From Home (WFH) yang mana masyarakat dibatasi untuk keluar rumah dan disarankan untuk melakukan pekerjaan dirumah saja. Masyrakatpun menghabiskan banyak waktu dirumah selama pandemi. Hal ini membuat orang banyak melakukan hal-hal baru selama dirumah salah satunya yakni memelihara tanaman hias dirumah. Memelihara tanaman hias bisa memberikan banyak manfaat salah satunya memberi keindahan pada rumah. Namun keindahakan yang dihasilkan oleh tanaman hias tentunya tidak lepas dari cara memelihara dan pemberiaan pupuk. Pupuk bagi tanaman sangat diperlukan untuk menambah unsur hara bagi pertumbuhan tanaman. Pupuk yang banyak diminati oleh oleh para perajin tanaman hias adalah pupuk gradul karena bentuknya yang menarik, keterbiasaan menggunakan pupuk gradul dan kemudahan dalam menggunakannya. Banyaknya minat akan pupuk granul menjadikan peluang produsen pupuk granul terutama di Kenagarian Andiang Kabupaten 50 Kota yang terdapat banyak populasi ternak ayam, sehingga kotoran ayam bisa dijadikan bahan baku pupuk granul. Dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini, dilakukan pengolahan pupuk granul menggunakan alat dengan sistem pirangan putar sehingga pengolahan pupuk granul menjadi lebiih mudah. Hasil dari pelaksanaan kegiatan ini memberikan manfaat yang begitu terasa bagi masyarakat terutama bagi perekonomian masyarakat di Kenagarian Andiang Kabupaten 50 Kota.

Abstract

The purpose of implementing this community service activity is to improve the economy of the rice farming community in Dharmasraya Regency, especially Kenagarian Koto Baru. From the results of a survey conducted by the service team, an indication of the basic problem of farmers is in the process of handling rice at post-harvest. In this process, farmers spend a lot of energy, time and money because they tend to be carried out manually. Through this service activity, the service team tries to unravel the problems of farmers by making technological innovations for the power thereser machine. The science and technology offered in this activity is the construction of a power thereser machine that is equipped with a long blow. The function of this blowing tunnel is to efficiently separate filled rice and empty rice. So that the rice yields obtained by farmers are clean with the best quality of grain. The method of applying science and technology in this activity is to provide introductory theory, demonstration, practice and its application directly. The introductory theory is applicable, namely the introduction of tools, how to use them, their functions and application in the field. The results of the implementation of this activity provide significant benefits to the work process of farmers in operating the rice thresher machine. The level of satisfaction and assessment of farmers on this rice thresher machine is very high because it is effective in construction and efficient in operation

Abstract

The dependence on fossil fuels in Indonesia continues to increase in line with the growing energy consumption, thus necessitating alternative energy sources that are more environmentally friendly and sustainable. Oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) are agro-industrial waste with great potential to be utilized as raw material for briquette production; however, their utilization remains suboptimal. This study aims to analyze the effect of molding temperature and compaction pressure on the density and stability of binderless OPEFB briquettes. The research method employed is experimental, using a quantitative descriptive-analytical approach with non-carbonized briquettes. The treatment variations include molding temperatures (230°C, 250°C, and 280°C) and compaction pressures (1 MPa, 3 MPa, and 5 MPa) applied to two types of materials, namely dried and undried OPEFB. The results indicate that increasing temperature and compaction pressure significantly enhances briquette density. At a temperature range of 250–280°C and a pressure of 5 MPa, the briquettes achieved the highest density (>1.0 g/cm³) with strong shape stability. The thermoplastic lignin content in OPEFB melts at high temperatures, acting as a natural binder. Briquettes with a density ?0.80 g/cm³ exhibited strong physical integrity, while those with a density <0.70 g/cm³ tended to be brittle. It can be concluded that the optimum conditions for producing high-quality binderless OPEFB briquettes are achieved at a temperature range of 250–280°C and a compaction pressure of 5 MPa, resulting in briquettes with excellent density and shape stability suitable as a renewable alternative energy source

Abstract

This community service program is motivated by the fact that the people of Jorong Pinang Gadang still face various obstacles in managing agricultural products, especially in the post-harvest stage. The limitations of the tools and technology used are still the main obstacles in increasing agricultural efficiency and productivity. From an economic perspective, the income of the community largely depends on agricultural products, especially from the sale of grain. However, due to the limitations of post-harvest technology, the results obtained often experience shrinkage due to loss of grain in the threshing process. In addition, the selling price of grain which tends to fluctuate makes it difficult for farmers to obtain stable profits. This service aims to increase the efficiency of the rice threshing process and stimulate interest in rice farming among farmers, especially in Jorong Pinang Gadang, Nagari Koto Padang, Kabupaten Dharmasraya. The stages of the activity include: (1) stages starting from field surveys, (2) identifying problems, (3) determining solutions, (4) making designs, (5) making tools, (6) testing tools, (7) demonstrations, (8) handover of tools and, (9) evaluation and monitoring. This training successfully improved post-harvest efficiency for farmers and achieved local food security for the community in Nagari Koto Padang. The innovative rice thresher technology has increased farmers' productivity, both in terms of harvest quality and economics. Furthermore, the community has gained a better understanding of how to effectively manage a farmer group to achieve shared goals. Keywords: Training, innovation in rice thresher technology, post harvest efficiency, food security

Abstract

Virtual Reality (VR) has become an option to be used as a learning medium in engineering. A study of the effectiveness of VR is needed to determine which fields and types of learning are suitable to employ it. This work aims to reveal the effectiveness of virtual reality media on students' cognitive and practice skills. The role of the media as a tool to make learning more efficient and effective. VR media brings learning in the virtual world that seems to be done in real terms. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with a posttest-only control group design research approach. The research subject consisted of two homogeneous classes. Learning outcomes are evaluated by testing students' cognitive and practice skills. The novelty of this research is the creation of learning media that are identical to the welding process simulator. Visual practice places and equipment in virtual form through VR are made to resemble practice places and equipment used in real situations. This similarity aims to provide concrete information about the welding process. The study revealed that the use of VR media significantly affected their knowledge. However, it did not significantly affect their practice skills. VR has not been able to provide an experience closer to real-life conditions during welding, such as heat, sparks, and sounds that appear when the electrode touches the workpiece. The distance between the electrode and the workpiece significantly affects the welding result in the welding process.

Abstract

Social media has become an integral part of daily life, but its intensive use also increases users’ exposure to various cybersecurity threats, making it important to understand the determinants of cybersecurity behavior. This study examines the effects of cybersecurity knowledge and social media usage intensity on cybersecurity behavior, as well as the role of cybersecurity self-efficacy as both a direct predictor and a moderating variable. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey of 115 university students who actively use social media, and the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that cybersecurity knowledge has a positive and significant effect on cybersecurity behavior (β = 0.309, t = 3.383, p < 0.01), while cybersecurity self-efficacy emerges as the strongest predictor of cybersecurity behavior (β = 0.479, t = 4.725, p < 0.001). In contrast, social media usage intensity does not show a significant effect on cybersecurity behavior (β = 0.003, t = 0.032, p > 0.05). Furthermore, moderation analysis reveals that cybersecurity self-efficacy does not moderate the relationships between cybersecurity knowledge or social media usage intensity and cybersecurity behavior. The structural model explains 58.3% of the variance in cybersecurity behavior (R² = 0.583). These findings suggest that cybersecurity behavior among social media users is more strongly driven by cognitive and psychological factors than by usage intensity alone. Practically, effective cybersecurity interventions should prioritize strengthening users’ cybersecurity knowledge and self-efficacy rather than merely restricting social media use.Keywords— Cybersecurity behavior; Cybersecurity knowledge; Self-efficacy; Social media usage intensity; SEM-PLS

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of vertical-axis wind turbines (VAWTs) with three different configurations, including Savonius, Darrieus, and a Savonius-Darrieus hybrid wind turbine, using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations. The methodology involves 3D geometry modeling, simulation parameter setup, meshing, and post-simulation analysis using SolidWorks 2022 software. The simulation results indicate that the Savonius turbine achieves the highest power coefficient (Cp) and torque coefficient (Ct) among the three designs, with a maximum Cp value of 0.5 at a Tip-Speed Ratio (TSR) of 0.4. Conversely, the hybrid turbine demonstrates lower efficiency, although it theoretically offers potential for improving performance at low wind speeds. Pressure and flow velocity distributions reveal that the Savonius turbine maintains the most stable pressure pattern compared to the other configurations. These findings highlight the potential of the Savonius turbine as a small-scale renewable energy solution, particularly in urban areas with low wind speeds. Further research is recommended to optimize hybrid turbine designs using machine learning approaches and empirical validation through field experiments to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 7, affordable and clean energy.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan untuk memberdayakan kelompok tani Boncah Bungo Tanjuang di Kabupaten Pasaman Barat melalui penerapan teknologi tepat guna dalam pemanfaatan limbah pelepah sawit sebagai bahan pakan ternak alternatif. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi mitra adalah kesulitan memperoleh pakan ternak akibat keterbatasan lahan hijauan, tingginya biaya pakan komersial, dan belum optimalnya pemanfaatan limbah pertanian. Padahal, daerah ini memiliki potensi limbah pelepah sawit yang melimpah dari aktivitas perkebunan, namun selama ini belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal. Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi penyediaan pakan ternak, mengurangi limbah pertanian, dan mendorong kemandirian ekonomi peternak melalui inovasi mesin pencacah pelepah sawit. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi analisis kebutuhan mitra, perancangan dan pembuatan mesin pencacah, uji coba dan pelatihan operasional mesin, serta pendampingan penerapan teknologi di lapangan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa mesin pencacah berkapasitas 200–300 kg/jam mampu menghasilkan potongan pelepah sawit berukuran 1–3 cm yang mudah dikonsumsi ternak. Penggunaan pelepah sawit sebagai pakan mampu menekan biaya pakan hingga 40%, meningkatkan ketersediaan pakan sepanjang tahun, dan mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan akibat pembakaran limbah. Kegiatan ini juga meningkatkan keterampilan peternak dalam penggunaan dan perawatan mesin, serta memperkuat sinergi antara perguruan tinggi dan masyarakat dalam penerapan teknologi tepat guna yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Abstract: The rapid transformation of the automotive industry towards digitalization and electric vehicles requires vocational graduates to have new competencies as well as a clear career path based on self-concept. However, students' unpreparedness in determining their specialization and the mismatch between their competencies and the needs of the EV industry make the development of a career guidance model even more important. This study aims to analyze the relevance of Super's career development theory in specialization guidance in the Automotive Engineering Vocational Program and to formulate a Self-concept-based career guidance model that is adaptive to the demands of electric vehicle technology. For this purpose, an analytical-philosophical literature review was conducted, examining 35 scientific articles and primary literature on Super's theory. The results show that the stages of career exploration, crystallization, specification, and implementation in Super's theory are in line with the process of forming EV competencies such as BMS, HV safety, electric motors, and digital diagnostics. Another important finding is that technical self-concept is formed through direct learning experiences and guided reflection, so career guidance needs to integrate self-assessment, exploration, workshops, and field experience. The study concludes that Super's theory is relevant as a foundation for vocational career guidance in the era of electrification and recommends the development of a curriculum that emphasizes career exploration and empirical research to test the effectiveness of the model.Keyword: Vocational Career; Super Theory; Electric Vehicles; Self-Concept; Career Guidance.Abstrak: Transformasi pesat industri otomotif menuju digitalisasi dan kendaraan listrik menuntut lulusan vokasi memiliki kompetensi baru sekaligus kejelasan arah karier yang berbasis Self-concept. Fenomena ketidaksiapan mahasiswa dalam menentukan spesialisasi serta ketidaksesuaian kompetensi dengan kebutuhan industri EV menjadikan pengembangan model bimbingan karier semakin penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis relevansi teori perkembangan karier Super dalam pembimbingan spesialisasi pada Program Vokasi Teknik Otomotif serta merumuskan model bimbingan karier berbasis Self-concept yang adaptif terhadap tuntutan teknologi kendaraan listrik. Metode penelitian menggunakan kajian pustaka analitik-filosofis dengan menelaah 35 artikel ilmiah dan literatur primer teori Super. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tahapan eksplorasi, kristalisasi, spesifikasi, dan implementasi karier pada teori Super selaras dengan proses pembentukan kompetensi EV seperti BMS, HV safety, motor listrik, dan diagnostik digital. Temuan penting lainnya adalah bahwa Self-concept teknis terbentuk melalui pengalaman belajar langsung dan refleksi terarah, sehingga bimbingan karier perlu mengintegrasikan asesmen diri, eksplorasi, workshop, dan pengalaman lapangan. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa teori Super relevan sebagai landasan pembimbingan karier vokasional pada era elektrifikasi dan merekomendasikan pengembangan kurikulum yang menekankan eksplorasi karier serta penelitian empiris untuk menguji efektivitas model yang diusulkan.Kata kunci: Karier Vokasional; Teori Super; Kendaraan Listrik; Self-Concept; Bimbingan Karier.
