Abstract

Pengobatan rasional adalah pengobatan yang diberikan sesuai kebutuhan pasien meliputi tepat dosis, tepat obat, tepat lama pengobatan, tepat indikasi, dan tepat efek samping. Dalam upaya mewujudkan pengobatan yang rasional, maka setiap obat harus digunakan sesuai dengan aturan pakainya. Apoteker sebagai profesi yang memiliki keahlian dan wewenang dalam pelayanan kefarmasian, memiliki tanggungjawab untuk mengidentifikasi serta mewujudkan penggunaan obat yang rasional. Masyarakat membutuhkan edukasi dalam memahami bentuk sediaan obat dan cara penggunaan obat yang tepat untuk menjamin rasionalitas pengobatan. Tujuan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang bentuk sediaan obat dan cara penggunaanya sehingga diharapkan dapat menggerakan kesadaran masyarakat untuk menggunakan obat secara rasional. Metode yang dilakukan adalah dengan pendidikan masyarakat yaitu dengan memberikan  penyuluhan. Pengukuran peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat dilakukan dengan pre dan pos test. Hasil post test menunjukan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan secara signifikan setelah masyarakat mengikuti penyuluhan tentang bentuk sediaan dan cara penggunaan obat yang benar.

Abstract

Nanotechnology is widely used in the biomedical purpose as a drug delivery system, cancer, and tumor biomarkers. Currently, metals are most used as precursor agents to form nanoparticles such as silver, gold, iron, zinc, and metal oxides. Acne is one of the skin problems caused by the growth of S. aureus and P. acnes bacteria. Treatment of acne using inappropriate antibiotics can lead to resistance. Silver nanoparticles are known to have the ability to kill pathogenic microorganisms. Pluchea leaf extract contains flavonoid, polyphenol, and tannin compounds that can work as natural bioreductors in the formation of silver nanoparticles while inhibiting bacterial growth. This study aims to synthesize silver nanoparticles using Pluchea leaf extract and testing antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Propionibacterium acnes. Extraction of Pluchea leaves was carried out using the infusion method with the water solvent. The synthesis of silver nanoparticles was used a shaker incubator at a speed of 150 rpm and a temperature of 37 ºC for 48 hours. Characterization of silver nanoparticles using uv-vis spectrophotometry, particle size analyzer (PSA), zeta potential analyzer, and FESEM-EDX. Antibacterial activity test using microdilution method. The characterization results of silver nanoparticles showed a particle size of 20.50 nm, a zeta potential of -38.6 mV, and a spherical morphological shape. Silver nanoparticles have antibacterial activity against S. aureus and P. acnes with a Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) value of 62.5 ppm and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) value >250 ppm.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the mental resilience and emotional well-being of researchers and academics at a higher education institution in Brunei Darussalam through a Self-Resilience Enhancement workshop based on self-existential discovery techniques using a self-existential discovery (tadabbur alam). The Community Service Team from State University of Surabaya (UNESA) organized the program in response to the high levels of stress, burnout, and workload pressure experienced by the academic community. The tadabbur alam was chosen because it can combine self-introspection, strengthening self-identity, and spiritual connection through direct observation of natural phenomena. The program resulted in an increase of self-awareness, clarity of thought, gratitude, and inner peace, and gained adaptive strategies to deal with life's stressors of participants. Participants also understood resilience not only as the ability to bounce back from setbacks, but also as an internal strength derived from self-understanding and a spiritual connection with God. This activity is an example of cross-country collaboration between UNESA and a higher education institution in Brunei Darussalam through Guidance and Counseling Study Program and Counselling and Diverse Learning Needs Unit that is relevant to be developed in a program to improve academic mental health based on Islamic values and local culture.
