Abstract

Abstrak Kota Jakarta merupakan kota metropolitan yang tidak lepas dari permasalahan lingkungan seperti adanya timbulan air limbah domestik. Air limbah domestik di kota Jakarta salah satunya diolah dengan waste stabilization pond (WSP) dan dengan sistem terpusat. Peningkatan jumlah pelayanan dan berubahnya karakteristik air limbah dapat mempengaruhi kinerja WSP. Tujuan dari studi ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi kinerja pengolahan air limbah dengan WSP di kota Jakarta. Adapun pengukuran dilakukan pada inlet dan outlet sistem WSP dan pengukuran berdasarkan parameter dari Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD5), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), pH dan amonia. Berdasarkan standar yang ditetapkan oleh pemerintah Indonesia, semua parameter tersebut telah memenuhi baku mutu. Efisiensi penyisihan parameter BOD, COD, TSS, amonia masing-masing adalah 96,22%; 88,66%, 96,19%, 98,62%. pH hasil pengolahan juga berada pada kondisi netral yaitu 6,5-8,5. Hasil dari pengolahan dengan WSP dapat dikatakan berjalan dengan baik dan diperlukan upaya untuk peningkatan yang berkelanjutan seperti perencanaan penggunaan ulang air hasil pengolahan. Kata kunci: waste stabilization pond, air limbah, efisiensi, parameter Abstract The city of Jakarta is a metropolitan city that cannot be separated from environmental problems such as the generation of domestic wastewater. One of the domestic wastewaters in the city of Jakarta is treated with a centralized system and treated with a waste stabilization pond (WSP). Increasing the number of services and changing wastewater characteristics can affect WSP performance. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of wastewater treatment with WSP in the city of Jakarta. The measurements were carried out at the inlet and outlet of the WSP system and based on the parameters of Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD5), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), pH and Ammonia. Based on the standards set by the Indonesian government, all of these parameters have met the quality standards. Efficiency of removal of parameters BOD, COD, TSS, ammonia is 96.22% respectively; 88.66%, 96.19%, 98.62%. The pH of the processing is also in a neutral pH condition, namely 6.5-8.5. The results of the treatment with WSP can be said to be going well and efforts are needed for continuous improvement such as planning for the reuse of treated water. Keywords: waste stabilization pond, wastewater, efficiency, parameters

Abstract

This study explores the influence of various sanitation practices on the Human Development Index (HDI) in the Malang District from 2011 to 2020. Employing a multiple linear regression analysis, the research examines the relationship between the HDI and five critical sanitation practices: access to wastewater treatment plants, open defecation prevalence, septic tank usage, and direct waste disposal into water bodies and onto land. Secondary data was sourced from the Badan Pusat Statistika of Malang District, ensuring robust and authoritative information spanning over a decade. Preliminary diagnostics were performed to affirm the data's suitability for regression analysis. The results indicated a significant negative impact of direct disposal into water bodies on HDI, emphasizing the critical role of effective waste management practices in promoting human development. The study underscores the need for integrated policy approaches that address sanitation infrastructure improvements, environmental protection, and education on public health practices. This paper contributes to the literature by quantifying the effects of sanitation on human development over an extended period. It offers evidence-based recommendations for policymakers to support sustainable development goals in the region.

Abstract

Sampah perairan di Tempat Penampungan Sementara (TPS) Jakarta memberikan beban polusi yang signifikan akibat aktivitas manusia. Pemulihan energi menyajikan peluang untuk mendapatkan nilai dari puing-puing ini dan mencapai solusi limbah nol. Di antara komponen limbah di TPS Perintis, puing kayu dari puing-puing sungai di Jakarta mendominasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memproses puing kayu melalui proses termal di TPS Perintis. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis hitungan beban di TPS Perintis dan melakukan pengujian laboratorium, termasuk analisis kadar air, analisis kadar abu, penentuan nilai kalor, dan thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). Generasi harian sampah perairan di TPS Perintis rata-rata mencapai 716,4 m3/hari atau 5,2 ton/hari, dengan puing kayu menyumbang 62,8% dari total. Puing kayu menunjukkan potensi pemulihan energi tertinggi di antara komponen limbah, dengan nilai kalor sebesar 16,43 kWh/kg atau 54.123,38 kWh/hari. Hasil uji TGA menunjukkan bahwa puing kayu dapat digunakan sebagai arang, dengan dekomposisi terjadi pada rentang suhu 200–500°C dan hasil sisa sebesar 14%. Temuan ini menyoroti kelayakan pemulihan energi dari puing kayu di TPS Perintis dan potensi untuk mengubahnya menjadi arang. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya penggunaan proses termal dalam mengelola puing-puing sungai, menyediakan solusi berkelanjutan untuk pengelolaan limbah dan pelestarian lingkungan. Abstract River debris at the Waste Temporary Shelter (TPS) Perintis Jakarta poses a significant pollution load resulting from human activities. Energy recovery presents an opportunity to derive value from this debris and achieve a zero-waste solution. Among the waste components at TPS Perintis, wood debris from river debris in Jakarta is predominant. This study aimed to process the wood debris through a thermal process at TPS Perintis. The research employed load count analysis at TPS Perintis and conducted laboratory testing, including moisture content analysis, ash content analysis, calorific value determination, and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The daily generation of river debris at TPS Perintis averaged 7.164 m3/day or 5.2 tons/day, with wood debris accounting for 62.8% of the total. Wood debris exhibited the highest potential for energy recovery among the waste components, with a calorific value of 16.43 kWh/kg or 54,123.38 kWh/day. The TGA test results indicated that wood debris could be utilized as charcoal, with decomposition occurring within the temperature range of 200–500°C and a residue yield of 14%. These findings highlight the feasibility of energy recovery from wood debris at TPS Perintis and the potential for its conversion into charcoal. The study's conclusions emphasize the significance of utilizing thermal processes for managing river debris, providing a sustainable solution for waste management and environmental conservation.

Abstract

Magetan has resources mineral potential of non-metallic minerals and rocks. The mineral variety is a mineral which relates to the people livelihood because it necessary for infrastructure development. There is no mining area zoning until now and it can be used to optimize the management and utilization of potential resources. In Magetan, mining area zoning was carried out by giving weights and assessments to the determining parameters which was conducted by patch method and it utilized Geographic Information System. So, the result of mining area zoning could be grouped into three zones. They were a zone could be granted a mining permit, a zone could be granted a conditional mining permit and a zone could not be granted a mining permit. Determining parameters for mining area zoning were land height, disaster vulnerability, groundwater, river borders, lakes and irrigation buildings, springs, forests and protected areas, agricultural land and cultivation areas, settlements, cultural heritage, tourism and district strategic areas, and land slope. The result of potential resources identification was carried out by analyzing Magetan geological map which was obtained potential resources, like andesite, pumice breccia, sandstone, siltstone and basalt. The zoning of Magetan mining area is a zone could bne granted a mining permit and the area was 9,914.507 Ha or about 14% in a percentage of the area, a zone could be granted a conditional mining permit covering an area of 20,748.29 Ha or about 30% and a zone unable to be granted a mining permit covering an area of 39,296.08 Ha or about 56% of the total area of Magetan.

Abstract

This study evaluates the Hauled Container System (HCS) used in PT. Kamibox Maju Sejahtera's waste management operations. The HCS is a transportation method to transport containers filled with waste and recyclables from collection points to processing or disposal facilities, at PT. Kamibox Maju Sejahtera vehicles travel from a centralized hub in Cisauk to specific pickup locations to load containers. Each vehicle typically handles one location per operational cycle and then transports the loaded container to its destination. Our analysis shows that the HCS system currently enables approximately 2.45 trips per day, which translates to two practical daily trips. This system's simplicity and directness provide ease of management and reduce contamination risk, reassuring the audience about its current effectiveness. The study further explores fuel efficiency and costs, revealing that while the Gran Max is the most fuel-efficient, the Colt Diesel is the most cost-effective. Recommendations include optimizing vehicle use and considering more fuel-efficient alternatives to improve sustainability and reduce operational costs. The findings serve as a guide for PT. Kamibox Maju Sejahtera and similar enterprises were aiming for sustainable waste management.

Abstract

This study undertakes a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis of the proposed glass elevator installation at Kelingking Beach, a renowned tourist destination in Bali. The research draws upon diverse scholarly perspectives to offer a comparative lens on infrastructural developments in natural settings. While the glass elevator promises to democratize access, particularly for older people and those with mobility challenges, and possibly amplify economic gains, it also brings forth concerns related to overdevelopment, environmental impact, and the risk of compromising the intrinsic charm of the destination. Our findings elucidate that while there are clear strengths, such as enhanced accessibility and potential for premium pricing, there are notable challenges to consider. The weaknesses, primarily arising from potential safety concerns and the possibility of detracting from the beach's natural allure, call for thoughtful solutions. Opportunities present themselves through collaborative efforts, sustainable practices, and a reinvigorated tourism sector. The study serves as a template for policymakers and stakeholders in natural tourist destinations, aiming to integrate infrastructure without diluting the essence of the locale.

Abstract

Kualitas air minum yang aman dan higienis di lingkungan universitas merupakan aspek fundamental dalam menjaga kesehatan sivitas akademika serta mendukung reputasi institusi sebagai ruang belajar yang berkelanjutan. Salah satu risiko utama terhadap keamanan air minum dan minuman olahan di kantin kampus adalah kontaminasi Escherichia coli (E. coli), yang menjadi indikator adanya pencemaran fekal. Studi ini tidak berfokus pada uji laboratorium, melainkan pada analisis dampak kualitatif dan evaluasi kebijakan pengendalian melalui pendekatan cost–benefit. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi konsekuensi sosial, ekonomi, dan lingkungan dari potensi kontaminasi E. coli, menilai efektivitas pendekatan pencegahan berbasis investasi higienitas, serta merumuskan strategi kebijakan jangka pendek, menengah, dan panjang di tingkat universitas. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan kerangka SWOT dan matriks aksi strategis (Strategic Action Matrix) untuk merumuskan langkah implementasi yang realistis, terukur, dan berorientasi pada keberlanjutan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penerapan sistem desinfeksi air, pelatihan kebersihan bagi pengelola kantin, dan pembentukan mekanisme pemantauan kualitas air secara berkala memberikan manfaat sosial dan ekonomi yang signifikan dibandingkan pendekatan reaktif. Upaya preventif ini terbukti memperkuat tata kelola air kampus, meningkatkan kepercayaan mahasiswa terhadap keamanan konsumsi, dan mendukung penerapan prinsip green campus.

Abstract

Kapasitas adaptasi sanitasi merupakan aspek krusial dalam memastikan keberlanjutan sistem sanitasi di suatu wilayah, terutama di daerah yang mengalami pertumbuhan pesat seperti Labuan Bajo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor utama yang mempengaruhi kapasitas adaptasi sanitasi masyarakat dengan menggunakan pendekatan Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), analisis klaster, dan segmentasi persepsi masyarakat. Hasil EFA mengidentifikasi tiga faktor utama yang berkontribusi terhadap kapasitas adaptasi sanitasi, yaitu kinerja infrastruktur sanitasi, partisipasi masyarakat dalam sanitasi, dan kesadaran sanitasi. Analisis klaster mengelompokkan masyarakat ke dalam klaster rentan dan klaster tahan, dengan klaster rentan memiliki keterbatasan dalam akses sanitasi, partisipasi masyarakat yang rendah, serta kesadaran sanitasi yang terbatas. Hasil segmentasi menunjukkan bahwa jenis kelamin, tingkat pendidikan, dan jenis pekerjaan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kapasitas adaptasi sanitasi, di mana perempuan, individu dengan pendidikan rendah, serta pekerja informal lebih rentan terhadap kondisi sanitasi yang buruk. Implementasi kebijakan sanitasi di Labuan Bajo masih menghadapi tantangan dalam penyediaan akses sanitasi yang lebih inklusif dan adaptif, meskipun telah diterapkan berbagai program sanitasi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan Integrated Climate Governance (ICG) untuk meningkatkan keterpaduan kebijakan sanitasi dengan sektor lainnya. Peningkatan infrastruktur sanitasi, pemberdayaan masyarakat, dan edukasi sanitasi menjadi langkah utama untuk memperkuat ketahanan sanitasi masyarakat. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi perumusan kebijakan yang lebih inklusif dan berkelanjutan guna meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat di Labuan Bajo.

Energy affordability and financial inclusion remain critical challenges for small island communities, where reliance on imported fossil fuels and high energy costs disproportionately impact low-income households. At the same time, high-income households and the growing tourism sector on these islands hold significant financial capacity to drive equitable energy transitions.
