Abstract

This study examines a published short story that has received the best award among other short stories selected by Kompas, and the short story "Ihwal Nama Majid Pucuk" by T. Agus Khaidir is rich in character education values. The purpose of this study is to conduct an in-depth description of the various character education values contained in the short story collection "Ihwal Nama Majid Pucuk" by T. Agus Khaidir. This research is qualitative and uses descriptive methods. The instrument used is the researcher himself, supported by an analysis guide table that helps the researcher summarize the data obtained. The data in this study are in the form of dialogue excerpts or sentences from the Short Story Collection "Ihwal Nama Majid Pucuk" by T. Agus Khaidir, which consists of 20 short stories. The data collection technique used to obtain research data uses listening and note-taking techniques. In this study, the researcher uses qualitative analysis techniques, which means data processing techniques used to understand complex phenomena. The steps in analyzing data are presenting the data to be analyzed, grouping the data and concluding related to the character education values contained in Character Education in the Short Story Collection "Ihwal Nama Majid Pucuk" by T. Agus Khaidir. Based on the analysis, the short story collection Ihwal Nama Majid Pucuk by T. Agus Khaidir comprehensively contains 18 character education values according to the Ministry of National Education, including religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, national spirit, love of the homeland, respect for achievement, friendly/communicative, love of peace, love of reading, care for the environment, care for society, and responsibility. These values are conveyed implicitly through character conflicts, storylines, social settings, and narrative symbols that reflect the reality of life.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the mechanisms of integrating educational activities and nonformal factors to achieve the maximum success of Majelis Raodhatul Khairat in strengthening Islamic education for Al-Khairat Muslim women in South Tinggede Village, despite operating with limited formal resources. The Research employs a qualitative approach with a single-case study design, data collection through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, as well as interactive model-based data analysis. The findings reveal that the majelis implements a holistic educational mechanism through the integration of four activities: recitation, yasinan, maulid, and funeral bathing training that address cognitive, spiritual, affective, and psychomotor dimensions in a balanced manner with strategies of Material contextualization, cyclical learning, and tiered development. Maximum success is supported by the synergy of ten nonformal factors: strong emotional bonds, transformative leadership, program flexibility, participatory learning, cultural support, social solidarity, nonformal incentive systems, program continuity, the use of simple technology, and alignment of vision with congregation aspirations, which interact within an organic learning ecosystem. The Research generates theoretical findings that social capital and the synergy of contextual factors are more determinative of the success of community-based nonformal Islamic education than the fulfillment of formal prerequisites, such as a rigidlya , structured curriculum and academically highly qualified teaching personnel. Implications for the SDGs include providing a replicable model of quality inclusive education (Goal 4), women's empowerment (Goal 5), and reduction of educational access disparities (Goal 10), demonstrating that community-based nonformal education can serve as an effective solution for sustainable development.

Abstract

This study aims to explore: 1) the learning outcomes of expository text reading skills using Google Form media based on the learning community program; 2) the similarity of learning outcomes of expository text reading skills using Google Form media based on the learning community program per sample group.The population of this study were grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Teluk Bintan who participated in expository text reading skills learning using Google Form media based on the learning community program. They numbered 105 students divided into three parallel classes with the same number of students. The sample was determined at 84 students based on a statistical formula drawn randomly from the population group. Data on expository text reading skills learning outcomes were collected using a valid test instrument. Data were analyzed using parametric inferential statistics. The results of the study: 1) the learning outcomes of expository text reading skills using Google Form media based on the learning community program reached a mean of 81.11 exceeding the KKM of 80.00; 2) There is no difference in learning outcomes for expository text reading skills using Google Form media based on the learning community program per sample group.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: 1) the plan and implementation of the principal's leadership strategy in the pedagogical competency aspect in improving teacher performance; 2) improving teacher performance in the pedagogical competency aspect. This study employs a descriptive-qualitative method, implemented at SMA Negeri 1 Singkep during the 2025/2026 academic year. The respondents of this study were the principal and compulsory subject group A teachers who teach in class X. Data on the principal's leadership strategy in the pedagogical competency aspect were collected using participatory observation guidelines, interview guidelines, and documentation instruments. In contrast, data on teacher performance in the pedagogical competency aspect were collected using portfolio instruments and questionnaires that were compiled objectively and systematically to meet the requirements of validity and reliability. The research data were analyzed thematically and qualitatively, based on the triangulation of tools, time, and sources. The results of the study: 1) the principal's leadership strategy in improving teacher performance to improve teacher performance in the pedagogical aspect can be implemented accordingly, namely: pedagogical competency development programs, quality academic supervision, and providing supporting resources and facilities for teachers; 2) there was a very significant increase in teacher performance in the pedagogical aspect through the principal's leadership strategy.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) abad 21 menuntut pendekatan yang mampu menjawab tantangan perkembangan zaman tanpa mengabaikan nilai-nilai keislaman. Salah satu pendekatan yang dinilai relevan adalah student centered learning yang menempatkan peserta didik sebagai subjek aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Permasalahan yang dihadapi dalam pembelajaran PAI selama ini adalah masih dominannya pendekatan berpusat pada guru, sehingga pembelajaran cenderung bersifat verbalistik dan kurang melibatkan peserta didik secara aktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep student centered learning dalam desain pembelajaran PAI abad 21 melalui kajian literatur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi pustaka, dengan sumber data berupa buku teks, artikel jurnal nasional dan internasional, serta dokumen kebijakan pendidikan yang relevan. Data dianalisis melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa desain pembelajaran berbasis student centered learning memiliki landasan filosofis dan teoretis yang kuat, sejalan dengan tujuan PAI dalam membentuk peserta didik yang beriman, berilmu, dan berakhlak mulia. Pendekatan ini mendorong pembelajaran yang aktif, dialogis, reflektif, dan kontekstual, serta mampu meningkatkan motivasi, kemandirian, dan keterlibatan peserta didik. Dengan demikian, student centered learning merupakan pendekatan yang relevan dan strategis dalam desain pembelajaran PAI abad 21.

Abstract

This study investigates Indonesian learners’ attitudes toward using The Sims 4 to boost English vocabulary mastery, aiming to identify learners’ vocabulary learning challenges and examining how digital simulation games influence motivation and contextual vocabulary acquisition among English as a foreign language learners aged 18–25. The study employed a mixed-method explanatory sequential design, collecting quantitative data from 99 respondents through a Likert-scale questionnaire followed by semi-structured interviews with selected participants. Descriptive statistics and thematic analysis were used to analyze learners’ perceptions, experiences, and challenges related to vocabulary learning through gameplay. The findings reveal that learners generally perceive The Sims 4 as motivating, enjoyable, and effective in supporting contextual and daily-life vocabulary learning, particularly by providing meaningful exposure through simulated real-life activities. Therefore, while The Sims 4 enhances learners’ engagement, motivation, and incidental vocabulary acquisition, it should be used as a supplementary learning tool to boost students’ vocabulary mastery. It is recommended that educators combine digital games with traditional vocabulary teaching strategies to maximize meaningful learning activities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the local wisdom found in the e-book Legenda di Natuna published by the Natuna Regency Tourism Office. The data sources consist of seven regional legends, namely Legenda Tanjung Senubing, Legenda Batu Kasah, Legenda Pulau Senua, Legenda Telapak Kaki Tok Nyong, Legenda Teluk Panglima, Legenda Pulau Sahi, and Legenda Tok Ibo dan Tok Umbok. This research employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. The data, in the form of words, phrases, and sentences containing elements of local wisdom, were collected through reading and note-taking techniques, and then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that these legends reflect the worldview of the Natuna community related to social and cultural life. Local wisdom is manifested through the attitudes and behaviors of the characters in maintaining social harmony, fulfilling life responsibilities, and preserving cultural continuity. Overall, the legends illustrate a balance between harmonious social life and efforts to sustain the local cultural heritage of the Natuna community. Keywords: local wisdom, legend, folklore

Abstract

The use of interactive digital media in physics learning remains limited, and the integration of local wisdom into science education is often overlooked, resulting in less contextual and engaging learning experiences for students. This study aims to develop and determine the validity of an Augmented Reality (AR)-based electronic student worksheet (E-LKPD) integrated with local wisdom on thermodynamics, specifically the evaporation topic for grade XI high school students. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, focusing on the development and evaluation stages. Product validation involved four validators consisting of two physics education lecturers and two experienced high school physics teachers. The validation instrument assessed interface design, interactivity, visual presentation, AR technology stability, media integration, and digital format consistency. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques through percentage calculations to determine the validity level. The results indicate that the developed AR-based E-LKPD achieved a highly valid category, exceeding the established feasibility criteria. The integration of AR technology enables interactive visualization of thermodynamics concepts, while the incorporation of local wisdom provides contextual learning experiences for students. Therefore, the developed E-LKPD is feasible as an innovative digital learning medium to support more engaging and meaningful physics learning.

Abstract

The rapid development of the 21st century requires teachers to be creative in integrating local culture into the classroom, especially in abstract subjects like mathematics. This study aims to develop learning media based on the traditional game of "Buah Para" (rubber fruit) for integer arithmetic operations for elementary school students in the Selat Gelam District. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data were collected through validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The validation results from material and media experts showed that the developed media was in the "Very Valid" category. Practicality tests conducted with teachers and students also indicated that the media was "Very Practical" to use. Furthermore, the effectiveness test showed a significant increase in students' understanding of integers after using the Buah Para game media. It can be concluded that the development of this ethnomathematics-based media is effective in improving the quality of mathematics learning while preserving local wisdom

Abstract

This study investigated the impact of the AI virtual tutor DeepSeek on students’ writing proficiency among tenth-grade students of a Madrasah Aliyah in Pamulang, Indonesia, using a quantitative pre-test–post-test design with a sample of 31 students. Students completed five essay-based writing tasks measuring content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanics. Their scores were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to determine the significance of improvement after four weeks of DeepSeek-assisted practice. The results showed a statistically significant increase in overall writing performance, indicating that real-time feedback from DeepSeek supported students’ self-regulation, accuracy, and clarity in writing. The novelty of this study lies in examining DeepSeek an emerging AI tutor that has received very limited empirical investigation within an authentic classroom setting, offering new evidence of its pedagogical value compared to more commonly studied tools such as ChatGPT or Quillbot. The study concludes that DeepSeek is a valuable instructional aid and recommends its integration into English writing instruction to complement traditional teaching.
