Abstract

The increasingly pervasive development of digital technology has not been fully accompanied by the strengthening of ethical awareness in its practical use. This situation is reflected in various phenomena among students, including the tendency toward excessive use of social media, the declining quality of ethics in online communication, and the weakening of mutual respect in digital spaces. These conditions indicate that digital ethics cannot be understood merely as a technological problem but are closely related to the direction of values and the fundamental goals of education. Departing from this reality, this study aims to examine the concept of ta’dib in the thought of Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas as an alternative conceptual framework for responding to the digital ethics crisis from the perspective of Islamic education. This study employs a qualitative approach through library research by critically examining al-Attas’s major works as well as national and international scholarly journal articles from the past five years relevant to digital ethics and Islamic education. The findings reveal that the weakening of digital ethics is rooted in an educational paradigm that tends to emphasize cognitive aspects and technical skill mastery, while the formation of adab as the core of education is neglected. Within this framework, the concept of ta’dib offers a holistic philosophical foundation by positioning education as a process of internalizing adab that integrates intellectual, moral, and spiritual dimensions in an integral manner. Therefore, this study concludes that the application of the concept of ta’dib has the potential to serve as a strategic foundation for building sustainable, value-oriented digital ethics among students that are relevant to the challenges of Islamic education in the digital era.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of applying a problem-based learning (PBL) model supported by poster media on the learning outcomes of eleventh-grade students at SMAN 2 Unggulan Tanah Grogot. The integration of posters within the PBL approach is intended to enhance student engagement in biology lessons by presenting authentic problems that encourage critical and creative thinking. A quasi-experimental method was employed involving two groups: an experimental group taught using the poster-assisted PBL model and a control group taught through conventional lecture-based instruction. Data collection was conducted using pretest and posttest instruments consisting of validated multiple-choice and essay questions. The findings revealed a notable improvement in the experimental group’s average posttest score, rising from 66 to 80, while the control group showed an increase from 65 to 75. Statistical analysis indicated that the poster-assisted PBL model had a significant influence on students’ learning outcomes at a significance level of p < 0.05. Furthermore, this learning model not only improved overall achievement but also minimized differences in comprehension among students in the experimental group. The use of poster media as a visual aid proved effective in facilitating students’ understanding of complex biological topics, including human anatomy and the circulatory system. In conclusion, the implementation of innovative instructional models such as poster-assisted PBL enhances students’ conceptual understanding while fostering a more interactive and enjoyable learning environment. Therefore, this approach is recommended for adoption in other educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of an educational video on tolerance material for Phase C at SD Negeri Labuy, Aceh Besar. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects included 26 fifth-grade students and one classroom teacher. The educational video, with a duration of 2 minutes and 43 seconds, was developed using simple content, engaging visuals, and clear audio, adjusted to the characteristics of elementary school students. Media validation was conducted by a subject-matter expert, a media expert, and the classroom teacher, along with trials involving students to measure their responses and understanding. The validation results indicated that the media fell into the “very feasible” and “feasible” categories, with an average feasibility percentage above 75%. Student responses were highly positive, showing increased interest and improved understanding of tolerance material. The use of the educational video created an interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere while helping students comprehend the concept of tolerance more concretely. This study concludes that educational videos are effective and suitable learning media for enhancing students’ learning interest and learning outcomes in tolerance material at SD Negeri Labuy, Aceh Besar.

Abstract

Mathematics education in the digital age faces new challenges and opportunities with the advent of technology. Artificial Intelligence and Search Engines have become tools that are often used in the process of searching for information and learning. This study aims to identify, map, and synthesize the latest scientific research on the role, impact, and challenges of using artificial intelligence and search engines in the context of mathematics education. The method used is a systematic study of 26 relevant articles from 2016 to 2025, which are included in the Q1, Q2, and Q3 indices, obtained through a selection process similar to the PRISMA guidelines. The results of the thematic analysis revealed several key findings: (1) There was a significant boom in research trends in 2024-2025, dominated by Generative AI research (such as ChatGPT). (2) The role of artificial intelligence has evolved from intelligent tutor systems (ITS) to dialogic personal tutors (chatbots) and adaptive learning platforms. (3) The role of traditional search engines as information retrieval tools is shifting and, in some cases, being replaced by generative AI capable of synthesizing answers. (4) Consistent positive impacts reported include increased motivation, problem solving, and self-efficacy, but these are offset by challenges related to accuracy, bias, and the urgent need for AI literacy among teachers and students. This study concludes that the state of mathematics learning technology is rapidly shifting toward AI-based systems, which requires pedagogical adaptation and further research on their integration in the classroom.

Abstract

21st-century education requires students to master mathematical problem-solving skills and self-regulated learning (SRL), but these skills remain a challenge for junior high school students in Indonesia. This study aims to examine the impact of implementing a Collaborative Learning Model of the PBL combined with a scientific approach (observing, questioning, reasoning/trying, communicating) on students' mathematical problem-solving skills and SRL. The study used a pre-experimental method with a One-Group Pretest–Posttest design on 31 seventh-grade students at a junior high school in Sleman Regency. Data on problem-solving skills were collected through a 5-item essay test with a maximum theoretical score of 50, while SRL was measured using a Likert scale questionnaire. Inferential analysis used the Wilcoxon signed-rank test for problem-solving skills (the assumption of normality was not met) and the paired sample t-test for SRL. The results showed a significant increase in problem-solving skills from 15.32 to 30.92 ( ), with posttest achievement equivalent to 61.84% of the theoretical maximum score. SRL also increased significantly from 121.81 to 122.74 ( ), although the mean difference was relatively small compared to the scale range. These findings indicate changes in students’ achievement after the intervention; however, the results should be interpreted cautiously due to the short intervention duration and the limitations of the one-group pretest–posttest design without a control group.
