Abstract

WHO defines stunting in the Global Nutrition Targets 2025 as an irreversible growth disorder primarily driven by inadequate nutritional intake and infections that occur repeatedly in the first 1000 days of life. Reducing stunting rates is the primary goal of the six goals in the 2025 Global Nutrition Targets. Stunting is also a vital indicator of the second goal of sustainable development, namely, no hunger. As many as 149.2 million toddlers (22%) worldwide were stunted in 2020. Southeast Asia has as many as 10.8 million toddlers (13.9%). This study analyzes the determinants of toddler stunting in Lubuklinggau City in 2022. The method used is an analytic observational research design with a case-control approach. Data were collected using a questionnaire on 71 stunted respondents and 71 respondents who were not stunted through the Cluster Random Sampling technique. The population to be studied was divided into sub-populations (clusters). A sample was selected for each cluster by random sampling. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that the variables Gender, Low Birth Weight, History of Exclusive Breastfeeding, Maternal Age at Birth, Parents' Income, History of ANC, and History of Infectious Diseases had a significant relationship affecting the incidence of stunting in toddlers in Lubuklinggau City in 2022. The results of the multivariate analysis test also show that parents' income is the most dominant factor influencing toddler stunting incidence in Lubuklinggau City in 2022.

Abstract

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, with significant global mortality rates. The World Health Organization (WHO, 2012) reported that in 2011, over 508,000 women worldwide died from this disease, which accounts for the highest percentage of new cases at 43.3% and a mortality rate of 12.9%. Existing therapies, including surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, often accompany side effects such as pain, weakness, hair loss, and menstrual disorders. Acupressure, as a form of non-pharmacological therapy, has the potential to mitigate these side effects through the application on meridian points LI4, SP6, and LR3, selected for their relevance to the energy flow affecting pain and the reproductive system. This study investigates the impact of acupressure on points LI4, SP6, and LR3 concerning pain and menstrual disorders in patients with carcinoma mammae undergoing chemotherapy in Bengkulu City. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design and a two-group pretest-posttest with control approach, this study involved 30 participants divided into two groups: 15 in the control group and 15 in the intervention group, selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicated no significant differences in the reduction of pain and menstrual disorders between the groups, with a p-value showing no statistical significance. This suggests that acupressure might be more effective if applied continuously in the early stages of chemotherapy. These findings invite further research to explore the therapeutic potential of acupressure in managing breast cancer, particularly for mitigating chemotherapy side effects.

Abstract

Hospitalization is a plan that requires children to stay in the hospital to undergo therapy and treatment. During this process children can experience traumatic and stressful. Most children who experience hospitalization show uncooperative behavior towards health workers shown by crying reactions. playing games will release children from the tension and stress they experience because by playing games, children will be able to divert their pain to the game. The type of research is Quasi Experimental, with a research design of One Group pre test and post test design. Sample 58 people. Structured mini-modules were given to every mother whose child was treated at Rupit Hospital. Questionnaires were given to respondents to assess the level of knowledge. Data analysis using Paired T-test parametric test. The average knowledge of respondents before being given a mini module is 54.7 and after being given a mini module to 71.21, with p < α = 0.05 with knowledge (p = 0.000). From these results it is concluded that there is an effect of giving mini modules about play therapy during hospitalization on knowledge. It is expected that the Rupit Hospital can provide a special room for play and play programs for children.
