Abstract

This research aims to develop an assessment test for Arabic reading comprehension skills by utilizing the Wondershare Quiz Creator application. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). In the analysis stage, the needs and problems in the evaluation of Arabic reading comprehension skills were identified. The design stage includes the preparation of product specifications, the formulation of learning objectives, and the selection of materials. The development stage includes the creation of an evaluation tool based on the Wondershare Quiz Creator application. The product implementation was carried out through a trial with 30 students. The evaluation stage was conducted to assess the effectiveness of the product through statistical tests using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, as well as pre-test and post-test. The research results show that the Wondershare Quiz Creator application is effectively used as an evaluation and assessment tool for Arabic reading comprehension skills. The significance value of 0.000 indicates a significant difference between the evaluation results before and after the use of the application. Students gave a positive response to the use of the application, which was considered capable of attracting interest, increasing motivation, and facilitating the evaluation process. This research concludes that the development of evaluation and assessment of reading comprehension skills using the Wondershare Quiz Creator application has been proven effective and can be an alternative for Arabic language teachers in conducting assessments of reading comprehension skills.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan alat tes penilaian keterampilan membaca pemahaman bahasa Arab dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi Wondershare Quiz Creator. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Pada tahap analisis dilakukan identifikasi kebutuhan dan permasalahan dalam evaluasi keterampilan membaca pemahaman bahasa Arab. Tahap desain meliputi penyusunan spesifikasi produk, perumusan tujuan pembelajaran, dan pemilihan materi. Tahap pengembangan meliputi pembuatan alat evaluasi berbasis aplikasi Wondershare Quiz Creator. Implementasi produk dilakukan melalui uji coba kepada 30 orang peserta didik. Tahap evaluasi dilakukan untuk menilai keefektifan produk melalui uji statistik menggunakan Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, serta pre-test dan post-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi Wondershare Quiz Creator efektif digunakan sebagai alat evaluasi dan penilaian keterampilan membaca pemahaman bahasa Arab. Nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil evaluasi sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan aplikasi. Respon siswa terhadap penggunaan aplikasi dinilai positif karena mampu menarik minat, meningkatkan motivasi, dan memudahkan dalam proses evaluasi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pengembangan evaluasi dan asesmen keterampilan membaca pemahaman menggunakan aplikasi Wondershare Quiz Creator terbukti efektif dan dapat menjadi alternatif bagi guru bahasa Arab dalam melakukan asesmen keterampilan membaca pemahaman.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran Fiqih berbasis Kurikulum Merdeka guna meningkatkan penguasaan materi shalat fardhu lima waktu pada siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri 1 Kota Gorontalo. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Pada tahap analisis, ditemukan bahwa media konvensional bersifat monoton dan kurang mengakomodasi gaya belajar siswa. Oleh karena itu, media pembelajaran dikembangkan menggunakan aplikasi Kahoot! yang memuat kuis interaktif, ilustrasi gerakan shalat, dan audio bacaan. Produk diuji dalam dua tahap: skala terbatas (5 siswa) dan skala luas (36 siswa). Hasil uji menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam penguasaan materi, yang ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan nilai dan hasil uji statistik (paired t-test dan Wilcoxon). Validasi guru dan siswa juga menunjukkan respons positif terhadap media yang dikembangkan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis Kurikulum Merdeka efektif meningkatkan pemahaman materi fiqih siswa. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perluasan materi, pelatihan guru, dan penguatan infrastruktur digital untuk optimalisasi implementasi di madrasah.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the improvement of the maharah kalam ability of class VIII MTs Negeri 3 Kabupaten Gorontalo students by using a team quiz strategy. This research is a Class Action Research conducted at MTs Negeri 3 Gorontalo Regency. This research was carried out in 2 cycles. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, tests and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive and quantitative qualitative data analysis. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII C MTs Negeri 3 Gorontalo Regency, totaling 25 students. This research was conducted through 4 stages, namely the planning stage, implementation of actions, observation and reflection. The results of this study show that the application of the team quiz strategy can improve students' maharah kalam. This increase can be seen from the average value of the pre-test results, which is 33.2. After applying the team quiz strategy on the post test cycle 1 the average score result increased to 62.2, then in the post test cycle II the average score result increased to 79.8. With a successful pre-test result of 0%, post test cycle I 24% and post test cycle II 80%. Thus, it can be concluded that the team quiz strategy can improve the maharah kalam of class VIII MTs Negeri 3 students of Gorontalo Regency.

Abstract

This study examines illocutionary acts in Surah Luqman of the Quran. The research method used is qualitative-descriptive, with the Quran as the primary data source and relevant secondary sources. The analysis of illocutionary acts is conducted to understand the communicative purposes contained in the verses of Surah Luqman. The results of the study show the presence of various types of illocutionary acts in Surah Luqman. One type is assertive acts, which relate to statements of a neutral nature. An example of a verse containing an assertive act is verse 6, which warns about the dangers of idle talk that misleads people from the path of Allah. Additionally, other illocutionary acts found in Surah Luqman include directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative acts. Each type of illocutionary act has implications and implicit messages that are important to understand in the context of Quranic translation. This study contributes to understanding the meanings and messages in Surah Luqman and illustrates the various illocutionary acts contained in the surah. This research can serve as a basis for further studies on Quranic pragmatics and contextual understanding in interpreting the verses of the holy Islamic scripture.

Abstract

The advancement of information and communication technology brought significant changes to the field of education, including in learning evaluation. This study aimed to develop an evaluation tool based on the ProProfs application, specifically designed for Arabic language learning, focusing on validity, reliability, feasibility, and practicality. The study employed an R&D method using the ADDIE model, consisting of need analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of the study included ninth-grade students and teachers at MTs. Negeri 1 Boalemo. The results indicated that the developed evaluation tool demonstrated excellent validity, with scores of 95% for media and 92% for content. The reliability level was also very high, as shown by an Alpha Cronbach score of 0.924. The implementation of this tool significantly improved students’ learning outcomes, with data showing that 25 out of 30 items were deemed valid, along with optimal difficulty levels and discrimination indices. In conclusion, the ProProfs application proved effective in supporting the evaluation of Arabic language learning, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in assessments while fostering students’ motivation. Adequate facilities, such as computers and internet access in schools, were essential for its implementation. Further research was recommended to expand offline usability features and enrich content to increase its flexibility and benefits.

Abstract

This study measures the correlation between the Intensive Training Program (ITP) and the English and Arabic Proficiency Test (EAPT) scores among 100 postgraduate students at IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo from four non-language programs. A quantitative method with an ex-post facto design was used, and data analysis was conducted using Spearman’s correlation test. Data were collected through a three-aspect proficiency test: listening (istima’), structure (tarakib), and reading (qira’ah), using a Computer Assisted Test (CAT) application with 140 items. The test results were processed using score conversion and SPSS Version 30. Before the ITP, none of the students achieved the minimum passing score for the EPT (450), and only six passed the APT. After the training, 18% reached the minimum EPT score, and the number of students who passed the APT increased significantly to 32. Correlation analysis showed that ITP effectively improved listening (correlation 0.582; p=0.002) and structure (correlation 0.592; p=0.002) in EPT, but was less effective for reading (correlation 0.085; p=0.686). In contrast, ITP greatly enhanced all aspects of APT: istima’ (correlation 0.972; p=0.000), tarakib (correlation 0.993; p=0.000), and qira’ah (correlation 0.997; p=0.000). The short duration of the training affects its effectiveness, along with students’ educational backgrounds and learning motivation. To enhance efficacy, it is recommended to extend the training duration, provide relevant modules for non-language students, enhance motivation through regular practice, and improve reading instruction methods. ITP positively impacts Arabic and English language proficiency, particularly for APT, suggesting that targeted training can significantly benefit non-language students’ language skills.

Abstract

The development of critical thinking and metacognitive skills is an important focus in professional teacher education, including in the Islamic Religious Education Teacher Professional Program (PPG PAI). However, there are still limited studies comparing the relative contribution of these two skills to the learning outcomes of prospective teachers. This study aims to analyze the significance of the role of critical thinking and metacognitive skills in shaping PPG PAI learning outcomes. This study used a quantitative research design with a correlational approach. Data were collected from 60 participants across two cohorts selected by purposive sampling. The data collection method was through tests. The research instrument was an integrated essay test. The data analysis technique used was inferential statistical analysis, analyzed through multiple linear regression. The results showed a statistically significant relationship (F = 12.828, p < 0.001) with a combined contribution of 28.6% of both variables to learning outcomes. Critical thinking had a slightly greater influence (Beta = 0.478) than metacognition (Beta = 0.499). This finding emphasizes the need for an integrated strategy for developing both skills in the PPG PAI curriculum to improve prospective teachers' reflective and analytical competencies. The implications of this research are relevant for improving teacher education programs to be more responsive to the needs of contemporary Islamic education.

Abstract

Understanding Arabic syntax, especially verbal (jumlah fi‘liyyah) and nominal sentences (jumlah ismiyyah), is essential for comprehending Qur’anic texts. However, grammar learning in schools often remains theoretical and lacks contextual application. This study aims to develop Quran-based Nahwu Tatbiqi teaching materials to enhance students’ practical understanding of these sentence structures. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Participants included Madrasah Aliyah students and Arabic teachers, with data collected through questionnaires, tests, expert validation sheets, and observations. Expert validation in media, content, and language confirmed the feasibility of the product. The materials were then tested through field implementation with a pretest–posttest design. Data analysis employed SPSS 27 using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings indicate that the developed materials are valid and effective, demonstrated by a significant increase in students’ average scores from 62.15 (pretest) to 82.47 (posttest). This improvement shows that integrating theoretical grammar with Qur’anic-based contextual practice bridges the gap between abstract knowledge and applied understanding. The results confirm that the developed teaching materials enhance grammatical comprehension and provide meaningful contributions to Arabic learning in educational institutions. Moreover, this study suggests further exploration of similar context-based materials for other aspects of Arabic language learning to enrich pedagogical practices.

Abstract

Background: Islamic education in Gorontalo Regency operates within a rich multilingual context, yet it remains insufficiently responsive to local linguistic resources, particularly the Gorontalo language. Although the local language holds significant potential to enhance students’ understanding of Islamic values and engagement, its integration into school management is hindered by a lack of formal policies, academic stigma, and limited supporting resources. Purpose: This study aims to examine how Islamic education management responds to local linguistic contexts and formulate an integrative management model that harmonizes Islamic values with local language practices. Method: Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach with a constructivist design, the research was conducted in Gorontalo Regency through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. Data were collected from 20 informants, including madrasah principals, teachers, Ministry of Religious Affairs officials, and customary leaders. Results and Discussion: Findings reveal that 92% of respondents recognize the importance of the Gorontalo language, only 46% of institutions have implemented it in formal policies, and only 27% of teachers have received relevant training. The local language proves effective in teaching moral character (76%) and religious communication (82%), yet faces structural barriers such as the absence of regulatory support, academic marginalization of local languages, and a scarcity of bilingual teaching materials. Support from customary and religious leaders significantly strengthens cultural legitimacy. Moreover, using the local language demonstrably enhances student participation, comprehension of Islamic values, and religious behavior. Conclusions and Implications: Synthesizing empirical findings with theoretical frameworks—Funds of Knowledge, sociolinguistics, Contextual Teaching and Learning, and Fazlur Rahman’s thought—this study proposes a conceptual model: “Locally Linguistically Responsive Islamic Education Management.” The model comprises four pillars: institutional policy, contextual learning management, culturally grounded teacher capacity building, and socio-religious collaboration. It bridges the universality of Islamic values with local cultural specificity, contributing to both the preservation of indigenous languages and the contextual strengthening of Islamic identity. The study recommends that Islamic education adopt inclusive, context-sensitive management approaches to foster meaningful and sustainable learning.

Abstract

This research aims to develop artificial intelligence (AI)-based teaching performance and behavior measures to support classroom learning evaluation and management. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on Design-Based Research (DBR), this research was conducted at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FTIK) IAIN Gorontalo through four stages: needs analysis, initial model design, limited trials, and improvement evaluation. Data was collected through classroom observations, audio-visual recordings, learning activity logs, and interviews with lecturers and students. The analysis was carried out qualitatively and computationally with pattern recognition and learning analytics techniques using multimodal data. The results of the study produced an annotated audio-visual dataset and a prototype of the Teacher Trainer Dashboard that is able to display indicators of teaching behavior visually, including teacher movements, speech styles, and interaction patterns in the classroom. Initial evaluations by eight researchers showed a positive response to the intuitive and non-judgmental design. This system is considered to be able to support teachers' professional reflection through objective and real-time feedback, without replacing the primary role of educators. Thus, the development of AI-based performance and behavioral measures contributes to the improvement of teacher professionalism and the application of ethical, adaptive, and evidence-based learning analytics in the Islamic education environment.
