Abstract

Dalam era digital ini, budaya perlu ditanamkan sejak dini kepada anak-anak. Sayangnya, banyak yang merasa kurang tertarik pada pembelajaran budaya lokal, terutama di tengah dominasi game online. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghadirkan solusi dengan mengintegrasikan inovasi media pembelajaran berbasis budaya Sasambo dan Augmented Reality (AR). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif untuk mendapatkan data deskriptif yang akurat. Fokusnya adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran AR berbasis budaya Sasak, Samawa, Mbojo di Nusa Tenggara Barat. Konsep pengembangan mencakup sejarah rumah adat, adat istiadat, pakaian adat, dan makanan khas dalam format tiga dimensi. Hasil dan implikasi dari penggunaan media ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan minat belajar anak-anak terhadap budaya lokal, mengingat interaksi langsung dengan perangkat ponsel mereka. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa konsep inovatif ini dapat meningkatkan pemahaman budaya sejak dini, dan diharapkan dapat mendukung peningkatan kualitas pendidikan serta minat generasi muda terhadap warisan budaya Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran Flipped book berbasis Augmented Reality (AR) pada materi sistem pertahanan tubuh di SMA. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya motivasi belajar dan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS) peserta didik akibat pembelajaran yang masih didominasi metode konvensional serta keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang inovatif. Penelitian ini merupakan research and development (R&D) dengan model 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua dosen ahli (media dan materi), empat guru biologi sebagai penilai kepraktisan, dan peserta didik kelas XI untuk uji coba terbatas. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar validasi dan angket kepraktisan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan persentase kelayakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Flipped Book berbasis AR memperoleh skor rata-rata validasi media 90,34%, E-LKPD 94,31%, modul ajar dan ATP 96,42%, serta materi 96,87% dengan kategori sangat valid. Hasil uji kepraktisan oleh guru biologi mencapai 98,75% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Dengan demikian, Flipped Book berbasis AR dinyatakan layak dan praktis digunakan dalam pembelajaran biologi khususnya pada materi sistem pertahanan tubuh.

Abstract

Student interest in STEM-based biology learning is essential to support the development of science and technology, yet the trends and dynamics of this interest over seven decades have not been mapped in depth. This study analyzes students' interest in biology learning through the STEM approach over seven decades using Scopus data, offering valuable insights for biology education at all educational levels. The study utilizes a systematic literature review (SLR) method, adapted from the PRISMA model. The SLR findings reveal that interest and persistence in STEM learning peaked in 2022, particularly in Indonesia and the United States. In Indonesia, biology education faces challenges such as outdated curricula, lack of resources, and insufficient teacher training, which decrease student motivation. The STEM approach can address these issues by integrating biology with technology, engineering, and mathematics, allowing students to see real-world applications and enhancing engagement in learning. The study suggests aligning biology education with the STEM approach, which can be applied across all science subjects, making learning more meaningful and boosting students' interest. STEM is included in this SLR due to its importance in education, as it helps engage students in science education and provides supportive conditions for their interests to grow. The ultimate goal is to make science education accessible to all learners in the 21st century, fostering an environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.Abstrak. Minat siswa dalam pembelajaran biologi berbasis STEM sangat penting untuk mendukung perkembangan sains dan teknologi, namun tren dan dinamika minat ini selama tujuh dekade belum dipetakan secara mendalam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis minat siswa dalam pembelajaran biologi dengan pendekatan STEM selama tujuh dekade, menggunakan data dari Scopus, yang akan memberikan wawasan berharga bagi pendidikan biologi di semua tingkat pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tinjauan literatur sistematis (SLR) yang diadaptasi dari model PRISMA. Hasil SLR ini mengungkapkan beberapa temuan menarik, termasuk fakta bahwa minat dan ketekunan dalam pembelajaran STEM mencapai puncaknya pada tahun 2022, khususnya di Indonesia dan Amerika Serikat. Di Indonesia, pendidikan biologi menghadapi tantangan seperti kurikulum yang sudah ketinggalan zaman, kurangnya sumber daya, dan pelatihan guru yang tidak memadai, yang menurunkan motivasi siswa. Pendekatan STEM dapat mengatasi masalah ini dengan mengintegrasikan biologi dengan teknologi, teknik, dan matematika, sehingga siswa dapat melihat aplikasi di dunia nyata dan meningkatkan keterlibatan dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menyarankan untuk menyelaraskan pendidikan biologi dengan pendekatan STEM, yang dapat diterapkan di semua mata pelajaran sains, membuat pembelajaran lebih bermakna dan meningkatkan minat siswa. STEM dimasukkan dalam SLR ini karena pentingnya STEM dalam pendidikan, karena STEM membantu melibatkan siswa dalam pendidikan sains dan menyediakan kondisi yang mendukung agar minat mereka tumbuh. Tujuan utamanya adalah membuat pendidikan sains dapat diakses oleh semua siswa di abad ke-21, menumbuhkan lingkungan yang mendorong keingintahuan, kreativitas, dan pemikiran kritis.

Abstract

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) is an integrated approach in the 21st century that aims to develop learners' soft skills and form human resources through 4C skills, namely critical thinking, creative, innovative, communicative and collaborative where the learning process is based on real-life problems. The STEM approach combined with the 21st century learning model can help students in optimising learning outcomes and forming character as human resources with 4C skills. This study aims to examine STEM-integrated biology learning in Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Project-Based Learning (PjBL) learning models and provide an overview of education in the STEM approach over the past decade at all levels of education in Indonesia. This research used a systematic literature review (SLR) method adapted from the PRISMA model. The results of this study reveal some interesting facts and findings related to the STEM approach in PBL and PjBL models, that student skills and learning outcomes also affect the approach, model and learning media used in biology learning. STEM integration is able to overcome problems in learning biology through scientific phenomena and real-world applications that support the learning process. This research suggests developing and deepening findings in the field of STEM biology in order to achieve optimal, quality and relevant learning outcomes by harmonising the demands of future scientific and technological developments.Abstrak. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) merupakan pendekatan terintegrasi di abad 21 yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan soft skill peserta didik dan membentuk sumber daya manusia melalui kecakapan 4C yaitu berpikir kritis, kreatif, inovatif, komunikatif dan, kolaboratif dimana proses pembelajarannya berbasis masalah dalam kehidupan nyata. Pendekatan STEM yang dipadukan dengan model pembelajaran abad 21 dapat membantu peserta didik dalam mengoptimalisasi hasil belajar dan membentuk karakter sebagai sumber daya manusia dengan kecakapan 4C. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pembelajaran biologi terintegrasi STEM dalam model pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning (PBL) dan Project-Based Learning (PjBL) serta memberikan gambaran pendidikan dalam pendekatan STEM selama satu dekade terakhir pada semua jenjang pendidikan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tinjauan literatur sistematis (SLR) yang diadaptasi dari model PRISMA. Hasil kajian ini mengungkapkan beberapa fakta dan temuan menarik terkait pendekatan STEM dalam model PBL dan PjBL, bahwa keterampilan dan hasil belajar siswa turut berpengaruh pada pendekatan, model hingga media pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran biologi. Integrasi STEM mampu mengatasi permasalahan dalam pembelajaran biologi melalui fenomena ilmiah dan aplikasi dunia nyata yang menunjang proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menyarankan untuk mengembangkan dan memperdalam temuan di bidang biologi STEM agar tercapainya hasil belajar yang optimal, berkualitas dan relevan dengan menyelaraskan tuntutan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang akan datang.

Abstract

Enhancing critical thinking skills is a valuable learning asset in the twenty-first century, and utilizing an educational framework that promotes this development can aid students' growth. Research reveals problem-based learning as the sole form of instruction most effective at fostering critical thinking abilities among pupils. In light of these findings, this study examines articles from Sinta-indexed journals to evaluate research on PBL models regarding their impact on promoting critical thought processes. The purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive overview of reputable publications released within the last five years (2020-2024), highlighting how PBL strategies assist learners in cultivating crucial analytic capabilities. The primary focus of this study is data on critical thinking abilities and problem-based learning models in the fields of science, biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. This research used the PRISMA approach, a literature study methodology consisting of four parts (identification, screening, feasibility, and inclusion). It is found through identification, screening, and eligibility there are 12 articles collected from various journal publishers and hundreds of journal articles. The study's conclusions indicate that most research on PBL models and critical thinking abilities is carried out in Indonesia at different educational levels. Scientific research frequently makes use of experimental procedures. Furthermore, it was shown that PBL research encompasses more traits than only critical thinking abilities. The examination of current publications makes it clear that the PBL technique can promote critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to identify various challenges encountered in implementing STEM education, as well as to describe the problems faced by several countries in implementing STEM education. To achieve the objectives of this study, the researcher conducted a literature review related to STEM education and learning, especially by conducting a Systematic Literature Review (SRL) study. This article is an SLR conducted by accessing the Scopus and Google Scholar databases as sources of information. Scopus and Google Scholar database exploration by entering the keywords "challenge" + "STEM education". The search results were exported in *CSV format (to facilitate the simulation process) and *RIS for synchronization with Mendeley. The selected articles are in the 2017-2024 period. The results of the study indicate that the challenges faced are mostly intrinsic challenges, namely the difficulty of teachers in managing learning time, as well as the lack of teachers in the STEM field who have adequate certification. Other problems were also encountered, such as the unavailability of supporting facilities for STEM education, and the lack of support from education administrators and stakeholders, which are challenges that must be considered in realizing STEM education.

Abstract

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) learning is an educational approach that integrates science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics to address real-life problems. It aims to develop students’ critical, creative, communicative, and collaborative skills in line with 21st-century competencies. This study aims to explore the potential and reported trends of implementing STEAM in the Independent Curriculum in biology learning in Indonesia, particularly in underdeveloped areas, rather than to determine its direct effectiveness. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted using Google Scholar to identify relevant articles published between 2018 and 2024. The selection process involved screening for relevance to STEAM-based learning in biology and applying inclusion criteria such as focus on senior high school education and Indonesian context. Out of 10 selected articles, the analysis was performed using thematic synthesis to identify common patterns and trends. The results indicate that the Independent Curriculum has the potential to support STEAM-based learning, even in disadvantaged areas, and that this integration can foster the development of students’ competencies in accordance with 21st-century learning goals.Abstrak. Pembelajaran Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) adalah pendekatan pendidikan yang mengintegrasikan sains, teknologi, teknik, seni, dan matematika untuk mengatasi masalah kehidupan nyata. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengembangkan keterampilan kritis, kreatif, komunikatif, dan kolaboratif siswa sesuai dengan kompetensi abad ke-21. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi potensi dan tren yang dilaporkan dari implementasi STEAM dalam Kurikulum Independen dalam pembelajaran biologi di Indonesia, khususnya di daerah yang kurang berkembang, daripada untuk menentukan efektivitas langsungnya. Tinjauan Pustaka Sistematis (SLR) dilakukan menggunakan Google Scholar untuk mengidentifikasi artikel-artikel relevan yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2018 dan 2024. Proses seleksi melibatkan penyaringan relevansi dengan pembelajaran berbasis STEAM dalam biologi dan penerapan kriteria inklusi seperti fokus pada pendidikan SMA dan konteks Indonesia. Dari 10 artikel terpilih, analisis dilakukan menggunakan sintesis tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola dan tren umum. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Kurikulum Independen memiliki potensi untuk mendukung pembelajaran berbasis STEAM, bahkan di daerah yang kurang beruntung, dan integrasi ini dapat mendorong pengembangan kompetensi siswa sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran abad ke-21.

Abstract

River ecosystem degradation caused by pollution and increasing anthropogenic pressure requires culturally grounded and community-based conservation approaches. This study aims to analyse the cultural foundations and ecological functions of the Bersik Kali tradition in supporting community-based river conservation in the karst area of Goa Pindul, Bejiharjo Village, examine its role in enhancing community participation in river ecosystem protection, and assess its alignment with environmental law and SDG 15. Using a qualitative case-study design, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis. Data were analysed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldana's interactive model data condensation, display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through triangulation of techniques, sources, and time. The findings reveal that Bersik Kali serves as an effective culturally rooted mechanism for strengthening ecological awareness, participation, and shared responsibility for river conservation. Beyond improving river cleanliness, the tradition contributes to karst ecosystem functions by enhancing water infiltration, stabilising flow into underground channels, and supporting riparian vegetation recovery. Additional findings show that customary norms, social sanctions, and informal leadership play crucial roles in complementing formal environmental regulations and addressing implementation gaps in local river conservation governance in line with SDG 15. Collaboration with local government and environmental organisations further reinforces program sustainability despite persistent challenges such as waste-disposal habits, limited infrastructure, and uneven legal awareness. The study offers an original contribution by proposing a culturally grounded participatory conservation model that integrates Local Ecological Knowledge, ritual practices, ecological actions, and legal frameworks into a unified system of river and karst management. However, the study is limited to a single tradition and geographic setting, suggesting the need for comparative research across different cultural conservation practices.

Abstract

Implementing formative assessment (FA) in physics learning has been widely acknowledged as an effective strategy for enhancing learning process and student performance. Unfortunately, there was a dearth of thorough research on formative assessment in high school physics learning, including publication opportunities, physics topics evaluated by prior studies, and forms of formative assessment investigated by prior studies. This review mapped studies on formative assessment in physics subjects in the high school context. The research method used was a systematic review by analyzing relevant research results from the Scopus databases that published over the past decade (from 2014 to 2023). A total of 17 articles were examined in this study. This study found that Q1 ranked journals were where the most articles with FA topics in high school physics subjects were published. Mechanics was the most common physics topic investigated by previous research. Technology-based formative assessment was the most common form of FA used by previous studies. The results of this review may benefit researchers, school leaders, and policy makers when they aspire to do research or facilitate the implementation of formative assessment in physics class.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) the influence of the Socio-scientific Issues (SSI) based-instruction on critical thinking skills of the students of SMAN 2 Bantul; and 2) the influence of the Socioscaintific Issues based learning on creative thinking skills of the students of SMAN 2 Bantul. SSI learning steps include problem analysis, clarification of science, refocus on socioscientific dilemmas, role playing tasks, and meta-reflective activities. The conflict raised was whether or not a shrimp pond was needed on the southern coast of Bantul Regency and was discussed in the topic of environmental change. This research was a quasi-experimental research type Nonequivalent control group design. The research sample was taken from 2 classes, one class as the experimental class and the other as the control class. The sampling technique used in this study was cluster random sampling. The data were collected using a written test, the observation sheet for the implementation of the learning model and the student response questionnaire. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA.The results of this study indicate that: 1). The SSI learning model in Biology learning has a very significant effect on the critical thinking skills of students of SMAN 2 Bantul with a significance value 0.00. This effect is on the aspects of providing simple explanations, developing basic skills, concluding, making further explanations and arranging strategies and tactics.; 2) The SSI learning model in Biology learning has a very significant effect on creative thinking skills in students of SMAN 2 Bantul with a significance value 0.00. This influence on the aspects of fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration.
