Abstract

In human life, health is the most valuable asset. a healthy body and soul gives happiness to everyone. But sometimes circumstances make human health decline. One of the causes of declining human health is due to viruses or bacteria that spread without people knowing it. One of the infectious diseases is tuberculosis (TB). Tuberculosis is a disease that occurs due to an infection caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. TB is a disease that spreads very easily, namely by air. The patient will spread germs through the air if the patient coughs or sneezes. Death is not uncommon because those with symptoms are afraid to go to the hospital for medical check-ups because they are hampered by a lack of funds. This situation is very concerning. Because of these circumstances, technological developments can be used as an alternative solution in replacing or assisting in diagnosing diseases experienced by people based on their symptoms. One of the technologies that develop about diagnosing disease is by using an expert system. An expert system is a system created by experts by developing technology based on science. In expert systems, their use must be combined with a method so that they can work properly and optimally. In this study the method used is the Bayes Theorem method. The Bayes Theorem method was developed by a priest named Thomas Bayes. The pastor comes from England who is a Presbyterian pastor. The Rev. Thomas Bayes developed Bayes' Theorem in 1763 and was perfected and redeveloped by an expert named Laplace. Based on the results of the above process, information was obtained that 87% of patients who consulted had pulmonary tuberculosis

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the use of simple teaching aids on the learning motivation of grade X students of SMK Harapan Kristen Rantepao. In this study, the method used was an experimental method with a quasi-experimental research design of a nonequivalent control group design. The sample in this study is students of class X Tab B and X Tab H of SMK Harapan Kristen Rantepao. The instruments used in this study are test and questionnaire instruments. Data analysis technique using SPSS 21.The results of the study showed that the use of teaching aids as a learning medium could increase the motivation to learn physics of grade X students of Harapan Rantepao Christian Vocational School on business and energy materials. This can be seen in the experimental class from an increase in the average pretest result of 28.36 to 81.00 in the posttest. In the control class, the average increase in pretest test results of 27.73 increased to 76.36 in the posttest. Meanwhile, in the t-test, the sig value (2-tailed) was 0.005 < 0.05. These results show that there is a difference in student learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the educational messages related to character education and environmental conservation in the film The Lion King (1994). Using a qualitative research design and content analysis, the film's narrative structure, dialogue, and visual elements were analyzed to identify key themes and sub-themes related to character education and environmental conservation. The results reveal that The Lion King contains important educational messages related to responsibility, leadership, respect for nature, and the interconnectedness of all living things. These findings highlight the potential of films as a tool for promoting positive values and education. The study's implications for education and media literacy are discussed, emphasizing the importance of incorporating media into educational curricula to enhance students' understanding of important concepts and foster critical thinking and analysis skills. Overall, this study shows that films, such as The Lion King, can be a valuable tool for promoting positive values and education, especially for character education and environmental conservation. The findings suggest that educators can use media content analysis as a means to identify and analyze the educational messages embedded in films, and incorporate these messages into educational curricula to enhance students' learning and development.

Abstract

Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendampingan dalam bimbingan belajar bagi anak-anak usia sekolah dasar di Lembang Rea Tulak Langi’. Masih terbatasnya akses pendidikan yang memadai di daerah tersebut menyebabkan banyak anak kesulitan dalam mengikuti pembelajaran di sekolah. Oleh karena itu, melalui kegiatan pendampingan bimbingan belajar, diharapkan dapat membantu meningkatkan pemahaman dan prestasi belajar anak-anak, serta memperkenalkan metode pembelajaran yang lebih efektif. Program ini melibatkan dosen dan mahasiswa dari program studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar untuk melakukan pendampingan secara langsung di lokasi.

Abstract

This research provides knowledge regarding the existence of physical principles in Toraja pa'gellu dance. This research aims to identify, analyze and describe the physical principles involved in the movements that occur in a pa'gellu dance. The type of research used is qualitative research. Data collection was carried out through observation, documentation and interviews. The location of the research was the lunar dao art studio. The research results show that there are physical principles in pa'gellu dance that need to be known, such as displacement, circular motion, pressure and equilibrium. The movement can be seen from the dancer's initial position to the next position. Circular motion occurs when the dancer rotates around a certain point on one of the toes. Pressure can occur on the soles of the dancer's feet as a cross-sectional area to support the weight of the upper body. Balance can be seen when the dancer cannot balance the body, where when the legs cannot balance the dancer's body can go backwards or forwards and even fall.

Abstract

The millennial generation presents challenges and opportunities for educational institutions, including Perbanas Institute in Jakarta. To effectively educate millennials entering the 21st century, it is crucial to implement new approaches to information technology-based teaching that caters to their unique characteristics and learning preferences. This abstract summarizes the essential findings and recommendations regarding these new approaches. A comprehensive literature review has identified that gamification, blended learning, adaptive learning technologies, and online collaboration platforms effectively engage millennial learners and maximize their learning outcomes. Gamification incorporates game elements to motivate learners through rewards and interactive experiences. Blended learning combines online and face-to-face instruction, providing flexibility and personalized learning experiences. Adaptive learning technologies customize learning based on individual needs, while online collaboration platforms promote collaboration and effective communication skills. To successfully implement these new approaches, Perbanas Institute should invest in faculty development programs, upgrade technological infrastructure, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration. Faculty members need the training to integrate technology effectively, while students require the necessary resources and support. By embracing these new approaches, Perbanas Institute can enhance the educational experiences of millennial learners and equip them with the skills required for the 21st-century workforce. Aligning teaching methods with the needs and preferences of millennials will prepare them for the evolving digital landscape and ensure their future success. Abstract

Second order ordinary differential equation (ODE) has many applications in science and engineering. Undergraduate students in science and engineering departments must study this subject in order to understand other subjects which are related to real applications they will encounter later. There are many excellent textbooks on differential equations where the students can study the theory and solve the problems. However, a textbook cannot give a quick answer for a problem particularly when the problem is quite difficult. A good choice is to use software such as Maple or Mathematica. However, this software is not always available for the teaching and purchasing it is usually beyond the ability of a student or even a lecturer. On the other hand, lecturers who want to create problems by themselves will follow the theory of the ODE. While creating the problems may not be difficult, answering them are harder. Problems which are very easy to answer are less worthless because they will not increase the students’ knowledge. Here comes the solution. A C program has been created to help lecturers create problems and solve them quickly. The program is interactive and can be easily understood by anyone who has basic theory of ODE. No knowledge of programming is needed; a user just runs it and follows the instruction. Students can also use the program to sharpen their knowledge. They can compare the solution of a problem they have solved with the answer given by the program. While commercial software such as Maple and Mathematica is very powerful, they cannot be used without writing necessary commands to solve a problem.

Abstract

In higher education institutions, one of the main challenges faced by students is how to understand complex lecture material, especially in computer application courses. This study aims to create a mobile learning module based on microlearning that is integrated with a Learning Management System (LMS) to improve the effectiveness of learning in computer application courses. This study is a development research. The subjects of this study were 40 students from the educational technology program, with a purposive sampling technique and the sample size determined using the Slovin method. The analysis results showed that the majority of students preferred mobile devices for learning and favored video-based media, followed by interactive simulations. The data also revealed that 95% of students had adequate internet access, while 5% faced challenges. The developed microlearning modules cover various computer application topics, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, presented through video-based content, interactive simulations, and practical exercises integrated into SPADA. The feasibility test of the modules by subject matter experts and media experts showed that the developed modules meet the criteria for high feasibility. The integration of microlearning modules into the LMS provides learning flexibility and supports a more inclusive, interactive, and effective learning process. This research makes a significant contribution to technology-based learning innovation in higher education, particularly in addressing learning challenges in the digital age.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate how physics education students respond to the use of tracker software in the implementation of physics laboratory experiments covering projectile motion. The study was conducted in the physics laboratory at the Universitas Kristen Indonesia Toraja (UKI Toraja) and involved 10 (ten) physics education students. Research data were obtained through questionnaires and analyzed quantitatively by calculating percentages. The utilization of tracker software in the implementation of projectile motion experiments enables students to easily observe and analyze the phenomenon of projectile motion. Students feel that experiments on projectile motion using tracker software are relatively straightforward to understand and learn. The results of student responses to the implementation of physics laboratory experiments involving tracker software in projectile motion show an approval rate of 64.4%. Therefore, it can be concluded that students exhibit a positive response and agree with the use of tracker software in physics laboratory experiments.

Abstract

Pengelolaan limbah organik yang efektif memiliki peran penting dalam mengurangi dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan sekaligus memberikan manfaat ekonomi bagi masyarakat. Artikel ini membahas kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang berfokus pada optimalisasi pengelolaan limbah organik melalui konversi menjadi pupuk organik. Kegiatan ini mencakup edukasi, pelatihan, dan implementasi teknologi sederhana yang dapat diterapkan oleh masyarakat untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterampilan dalam memanfaatkan limbah organik. Hasil dari kegiatan ini telah menghasilkan dampak yang dirasakan secara langsung oleh masyarakat dengan adanya peningkatan hasil pertanian di Lembang Maroson seperti tananman cabe dan sayur-sayuran yang tidak hanya dapat dikonsumsi sendiri namun meningkatkan penghasilan mereka dengan penjualan hasil pertanian tersebut.
