Abstract

Although Game-Based Learning (GBL) has considerable potential to support quality education, research on its implementation in Islamic primary education remains limited. This study aims to analyze the relationship between GBL and students’ understanding of Fiqh, particularly the topic of fasting (Sawm), in relation to the achievement of SDG 4. Using a quantitative design, the study involved 65 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and comprehension tests and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and regression analysis. The findings reveal a strong positive relationship between student engagement and comprehension (r = 0.825, p < 0.001), indicating that higher engagement significantly improves learning outcomes and supports constructivist learning theory. The study concludes that GBL plays an important role in enhancing both the cognitive and affective dimensions of learning in Islamic education. These findings contribute theoretically to the development of digital pedagogy in Islamic education and offer practical implications for educators seeking to adopt interactive learning strategies that support SDG 4. The study also highlights opportunities for future research involving broader Islamic subjects, diverse educational contexts, and mixed-method approaches.

Abstract

Religious moderation is critical to fostering social cohesion in rural Indonesian communities, where differences in beliefs and practices can occasionally cause conflict. This study develops and evaluates a model for internalizing religious moderation that incorporates four critical societal elements: family, school, community, and government. The approach supports the fundamental ideals of justice, tolerance, patriotism, and reconciliation. To investigate how these values are nurtured in rural settings, data were collected using a qualitative case study technique, including observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that religious moderation is internalized in three stages: value transformation, in which individuals are introduced to moderation principles; value transaction, in which these principles are practiced and exchanged within social environments; and value trans-internalization, in which moderation becomes a deeply ingrained part of communal life. Furthermore, three essential approaches (understanding, habituation, and role modelling) help establish these values and promote a culture of moderation. By supporting these ideas, societies experience fewer religious conflicts and increased social cohesion, resulting in long-term stability and harmony.

Abstract

The main challenge of Islamic Education Management (IEM) today lies in the stagnation of financing innovation, which still relies on conventional schemes and remains highly dependent on government support. This condition has an impact on limited space for innovation, low flexibility in budget management, and minimal transparency and accountability in the financial governance of Islamic educational institutions. This study aims to deconstruct the strategic planning framework for Islamic education financing by integrating the Smart Transparency approach as a basis for adaptive financial governance in the context of digital transformation. The study uses a qualitative method, with a literature-based case study approach, to critically analyse various education financing management models and digital governance practices in the public sector. The results show that the effectiveness of financing Islamic educational institutions is largely determined by two main factors: the digitalization of the financial governance system and the diversification of non-governmental funding sources, including Islamic philanthropy, strategic partnerships, and educational entrepreneurial innovation. The novelty of this study lies in the formulation of the Digital Fiscal Accountability (DFA) model that integrates digital transparency, technology-based financial reporting, and participatory control mechanisms as a preventive strategy to minimize budget inefficiency and strengthen public accountability in the management of Islamic education financing.

Abstract

The research approach used in this study was a qualitative approach. The results showed that strategic management carried out systematically and planned can improve the pedagogical competence, personality, and professionalism of teachers. In addition, the commitment of madrasah management in developing the quality of teaching staff also contributes to improving the quality of learning and the overall success of the madrasah. Appropriate and effective management strategies are the main key in encouraging teachers to continue to develop and innovate according to the needs of the times. Thus, the implementation of good strategic management not only improves the professional competence of teachers, but also has a positive impact on the quality of education at Madrasah Aliyah Aliyah Al Muhajirin and Minhajul Haq Purwakarta, so that they are able to compete and meet national and international education standards.

Abstract

Human resource management (HRM) is a crucial component in strengthening the quality and sustainability of Islamic educational institutions, including Boarding schools. As educational demands increasingly require professionalism, digital competence, and organizational effectiveness, Boarding schools must manage their human resources through systematic planning and recruitment. This study explores HR planning and recruitment at Boarding School Al-Musyarrofah, Cianjur, focusing on how workforce needs are identified, how future HR demands are forecasted, and how recruitment strategies align with institutional goals and Islamic educational values. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation to analyze HR practices and challenges within the Boarding School context. The study is guided by several research questions: how the Boarding School conducts HR planning, how it forecasts future workforce requirements, what recruitment strategies are employed, how Islamic values influence HR processes, and what obstacles arise in implementation. The theoretical framework integrates modern HRM theories such as workforce planning, competency-based recruitment, and structured selection processes with principles of Islamic education emphasizing amanah, adab, khidmah, and educator integrity. This hybrid framework positions HRM not only as a managerial function but also as a moral responsibility. The study contributes by offering an empirical model of HR planning and recruitment suited to Boarding schools, demonstrating how modern HRM principles can be harmonized with Islamic educational philosophy to produce effective, ethical, and culturally grounded HR practices.

Abstract

The inequality in lecturers' research productivity indicates that academic performance is not only determined by individual abilities but is also influenced by organizational leadership and lecturer competency. This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership, pedagogical competence, and professional competence on lecturers' research productivity. The study used a quantitative, cross-sectional survey design with a census of 60 lecturers. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS 26.0 for correlation and regression. The results showed that transformational leadership had a significant effect on research productivity (β = 0.329; R² = 0.110), while pedagogical competence (β = 0.813; R² = 0.833) and professional competence (β = 0.840; R² = 0.822) had a stronger influence. Simultaneously, the three variables explained 85.1% of the variation in lecturers' research productivity (R² = 0.851). This research implies that increasing lecturers' research productivity requires synergy between transformational leadership and strengthening pedagogical and professional competencies through structured, performance-based, and institutionally sound development programs to foster a culture of sustainable research within higher education.

Abstract

This study explores the strategic development of excellent and competitive human resources (HR) in Indonesia’s education sector. The paper integrates the Human Capital Theory and Islamic Educational Values to formulate a holistic conceptual model for improving teacher competence, professionalism, and institutional competitiveness. Adopting a qualitative descriptive approach, the study synthesizes scholarly research and policy documents published between 2018 and 2025. The findings indicate that superior human resources in education must embody three integrated dimensions: intellectual competence, professional capability, and spiritual integrity. Strategic approaches include professional training, innovation-based leadership, digital transformation, and moral-spiritual education. A conceptual framework is presented to show how Human Capital Development, Islamic Educational Values, and Educational Competitiveness intersect to produce excellent educational human resources that can sustain global competitiveness while maintaining ethical integrity.
