Abstract

Hypertension remains a major public health concern worldwide, largely driven by unhealthy lifestyles such as poor diet, physical inactivity, and excess body weight. Early identification of modifiable risk factors, including cholesterol levels, body mass index (BMI), and physical activity, is crucial for preventing hypertension. This community-based screening activity was conducted on 7 August 2025, at SMA Negeri 9 Padang, targeting teachers, administrative staff, and food vendors. A total of 80 adults participated in the study using convenience sampling. The activity included health education followed by individual health screenings, which consisted of blood pressure measurement, BMI calculation, cholesterol testing using portable point-of-care devices, and physical activity assessment using structured questionnaires. The results showed that 45% of participants were classified as prehypertensive, 83.8% had high cholesterol levels, and 66.3% were overweight or obese. Most participants (72.5%) reported moderate physical activity levels, which fell short of the World Health Organization’s recommendations. These findings indicate a high risk of hypertension among adults in the school community, particularly related to elevated cholesterol, excess body weight, and insufficient physical activity. We identified hypertension risk factors and provided health education and individualized screening feedback to raise awareness of cardiovascular risks and emphasize the importance of regular screening.

Abstract

Abstract: Hypertension is becoming more frequently seen among adolescents, potentially increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease and health complications later in life. This community outreach initiative aimed to assess the prevalence of hypertension risk among adolescents via health screenings in schools and to identify hypertension-related risk factors. The activity included 66 students from SMAN 9 Padang. Methods consisted of health assessments and educational sessions. Blood pressure results showed that 50 participants (76%) had systolic blood pressure below 120 mmHg, while 5 participants (7.3%) had systolic pressure exceeding 129 mmHg. For diastolic pressure, 58 participants (88%) had readings below 80 mmHg, with 4 participants (5%) showing diastolic pressure above 84 mmHg. The results of health education indicate a significant impact on students' knowledge about hypertension, with a p-value < 0.005. This initiative highlights the value of regular health screenings as an early detection measure for hypertension in adolescents, fostering awareness and encouraging preventive practices.

Abstract

Kelompok intervensi diberikan terapi akupresur selama 3 hari dengan pengukuran mual muntah 4 kali, sedangkan kelompok kontrol hanya dilakukan pengukuran mual muntah 4 kali tanpa terapi. Instrumen menggunakan kuesioner Rhodes Index of Nausea, Vomiting, and Retching (INVR).

Abstract

Background Problems: During the observation, many students were unable to perform cartwheel skills. This research is important so that students can pass the minimum completion criteria so that their physical education learning outcomes are not low. Research Objectives: This study aims to determine the factors that influence the skills of cartwheel. Methods: This type of research is quantitative. The population amounted to 392 students in class XI. The technique used to obtain the sample is simple random sampling using the slovin formula with an error rate of 10%. Based on this, the sample amounted to 80 students. The physical fitness test instrument used the Indonesian Student Fitness Test, the motor ability test instrument used the Barrow Motor Ability Test, the learning motivation data was collected using a questionnaire, and the cartwheel skill data used an observation sheet which contained the criteria for implementing the cartwheel movement. Path analysis was used as a data analysis technique. Finding/Results: The results of the study consist of: 1. Physical fitness and motor skills have a significant influence on cartwheel skills. 2. Learning motivation has no significant effect directly on cartwheel skills. 3. Physical fitness indirectly through learning motivation has no significant effect on cartwheel skills. 4. Motor ability indirectly through learning motivation has no significant effect on cartwheel skills. Conclusion: Physical fitness and motor skills have a significant influence on cartwheel skills. Students need to do it outside of PJOK class hours. For Further Researchers Conduct research on other gymnastic movements.

Abstract

The problem in this research is the lack of explosive power of the leg muscles of pencak silat leg pencak silat catch snake roll in Lintau. For this reason, pencak silat leg pencak silat catch snake roll in Lintau needs to be trained programmatically through training principles that can be carried out both theoretically and practically in achieving maximum explosive power. There are several forms of exercise that can increase leg muscle explosive power, including an exercise program by going up and down stairs. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research. The population is the Pencak Silat College of tungkai pencak silat tangkap gulung ular in Lintau. Samples were taken by total sampling technique so that the sample amounted to 15 people. The research instrument uses a vertical jump test and the data analysis technique used is the t test hypothesis testing. As a result of research and hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that "There is an effect of going up and down stairs on the explosiveness of leg muscles in Pencak Silat Tangkap Snake Roll, which is evidenced by the tcount > ttable with a value of (3,310> 1,761).
