Abstract

Comparative education studies examine the similarities, differences, and factors influencing the education systems of various countries. This study is crucial for understanding the dynamics of global education and supporting national policy development. The primary focus is on identifying similarities and differences in education systems and understanding the historical and contextual factors that shape these policies. This research analyzes relevant national and international literature and journals, including the history of education in Indonesia. The results demonstrate that comparative education is not only analytical but also helps adapt best practices to Indonesia's social, cultural, and political context. Aspects examined include educational philosophy, curriculum, learning methods, policies, educational structures, and external factors such as economics and culture. From pre-colonial times to the reform era, education plays a role in strengthening cultural values, developing human resources, and shaping national identity. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating lessons from other countries while maintaining Indonesia's distinctive characteristics for effective and sustainable policy.

Abstract

This paper discusses a comparative study of educational systems between developing and developed countries, focusing on differences in system design, quality, and management strategies. Education serves as a key indicator of national progress because it plays a crucial role in developing qualified human resources. Developing countries often face challenges such as limited educational facilities, low teacher quality, and unequal access to education. In contrast, developed countries possess well-planned, technology-based education systems that balance theory and practice. Singapore is presented as an example of a developed country that has successfully built an effective education system through curriculum alignment with labor market needs, an emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and teacher development through institutions like the National Institute of Education (NIE). The study reveals that education quality depends on management effectiveness, teacher professionalism, and strong government policy support. Thus, education plays a vital role as a determinant of a nation's advancement and societal welfare.

Abstract

Software is a core component of Management Information Systems (MIS) that transforms data into accurate, relevant, and timely information to support managerial decision-making. In the context of Islamic education management, software functions not merely as an administrative tool but as a strategic instrument to promote transparent, accountable, and data-driven governance. This paper aims to analyze the role of software in optimizing managerial decision effectiveness, identify technical and non-technical challenges in MIS integration, and examine the impact of adopting emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and low-code platforms. The findings indicate that MIS software enhances decision quality through real-time information, analytical features, and cross-unit integration. However, its implementation faces challenges including legacy system compatibility, data security and privacy concerns, infrastructure limitations, user resistance, and human resource readiness. Examples of educational MIS software in Indonesia include Dapodik, EMIS, Siakad, SIMPATIKA, and Moodle, which support data management and quality improvement in education. Properly managed, MIS software becomes a fundamental pillar in the digital transformation of Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze strategies for evaluating and upgrading information systems in elementary schools to support digital transformation in education. The research employed a qualitative approach using library research methods by reviewing relevant books, scientific journals, and policy documents published within the last decade. The data were analyzed through content analysis techniques involving data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that effective digital transformation in elementary schools requires an integrated strategy consisting of system monitoring, information system auditing, preventive and corrective maintenance, and systematic system upgrades. System monitoring ensures performance stability and service quality, while information system audits strengthen governance, security, and accountability. Preventive and corrective maintenance maintains operational continuity, and system upgrades enable schools to adapt to technological advancements and evolving educational needs. The study concludes that sustainable evaluation and upgrade strategies are essential to ensure that information systems function not only as administrative tools but also as strategic instruments to enhance the quality of educational services in the digital era.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konsep dan problematika penerapan pendidikan karakter di Indonesia. Topik ini penting diteliti karena pendidikan karakter sebagai upaya membentuk generasi yang cerdas, terampil dan berkepribadian baik. Urgensi penelitian dilakukan sebagai upaya mengatasi masalah degradasi moral peserta didik. Metode penelitian menggunakan kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur. Data dikumpulkan melalui jurnal hasil pemikiran dan hasil penelitian terdahulu, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan pendidikan karakter penting diterapkan pada peserta didik untuk membentuk generasi berkualitas yang cerdas secara akademik, terampil dan berakhlak mulia, namun pada pelaksanaannya masih menghadapi berbagai kendala baik dari aspek sekolah, guru, kebijakan pendidikan, masyarakat, maupun individu peserta didik. Kendala ini menyebabkan internalisasi nilai karakter pada peserta didik belum berjalan maksimal. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya pendekatan karakter yang melibatkan keluarga, sekolah, masyarakat, dan pemerintah secara sinergis dan berkesimabungan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan literasi siswa di era digital, sehingga diperlukan media pembelajaran yang tidak hanya menarik secara visual, tetapi juga mendukung proses membaca secara efektif. Salah satu media yang dapat dimanfaatkan adalah majalah sekolah, yang tidak hanya memuat teks, tetapi juga mengintegrasikan elemen desain layout. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan majalah sekolah sebagai media pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, menganalisis desain layout yang digunakan, serta mengkaji relevansinya terhadap keterampilan literasi siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis analisis isi berbasis studi dokumen. Data diperoleh melalui teknik dokumentasi dengan menganalisis Majalah Sekolah Alternatif edisi Februari 2024 yang diterbitkan oleh SMP Mutual Kota Magelang, serta didukung oleh sumber literatur yang relevan. Analisis dilakukan berdasarkan prinsip desain layout, meliputi keseimbangan, kesatuan, penekanan, kontras, hierarki, alur, dan repetisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan prinsip-prinsip tersebut membentuk struktur visual yang komunikatif dan sistematis. Secara analitis, karakteristik layout tersebut memiliki relevansi dengan proses membaca, seperti membantu pengenalan ide utama, meningkatkan keterbacaan, serta mendukung pemahaman struktur teks dan penafsiran makna. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa desain layout tidak hanya berfungsi secara estetis, tetapi juga memiliki potensi sebagai pendukung literasi dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

his research aims to describe and analyze the competency levels of Universitas Nurul Huda (UNUHA) students in developing digital-based school magazine rubrics. The focus of the study includes the students' ability to map content variations, craft communicative narratives, and master multimodal design technology. The scope of this research is limited to the analysis of various rubric types, such as school news, inspirational figure profiles, extracurricular activities, and school administrative services. The research method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach using content analysis techniques to provide an in-depth overview of the phenomenon being studied. Data were collected through visual documentation techniques and observation notes of the students' digital works. The results indicate that the students possess excellent competence in developing digital magazine rubrics. This is evidenced by their ability to systematically apply the 5W+1H elements in news rubrics, as well as their sensitivity in selecting relevant profile subjects. Furthermore, students are able to integrate inclusive content—such as scholarship information and New Student Admissions (PPDB)—with interactive multimodal layouts using the Canva application. A compelling finding of this research is the students' ability to create news through inspirational narratives and aesthetic visual elements, ensuring that the digital magazine functions not only as an information medium but also as an adaptive educational tool in the digital era.
