Abstract

This study aims to examine parental involvement in fostering Islamic character development among students at SDN Tlogosari 1, as well as the factors influencing it. The research employed a qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the level of parental involvement is significantly influenced by three main factors: educational background, occupational workload, and understanding of the importance of Islamic character education. Parents with higher educational backgrounds tend to be more active in accompanying their children and participating in school activities, while those with longer working hours rely more heavily on the school’s role in character formation. Furthermore, a strong understanding of the importance of Islamic values encourages greater synergy between families and schools. In conclusion, the success of Islamic character education requires close collaboration between schools and parents to ensure that Islamic values are consistently and sustainably instilled in students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the collaborative strategies between regular teachers and Special Assistant Teachers (GPK) in managing the behavior of students with special needs (ABK) through the Low Arousal Approach in inclusive classrooms. A qualitative approach with a case study design was implemented at SD Muhammadiyah Plus, Probolinggo City, in December 2025. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The results indicate that Low Arousal principles such as calm communication, providing time out opportunities, environmental adjustments, and the use of a calming corner effectively reduced challenging behaviors such as tantrums, mild aggression, and anxiety. Collaboration between regular teachers and GPK played a key role in de-escalation and supported students’ self-regulation. The implementation of this strategy also fostered a more stable, empathetic, and conducive learning atmosphere for all students, while strengthening inclusive education practices in primary schools.

Abstract

This study examines parental divorce's impact on elementary school children at MI Hidayatul Islam Clarak. The research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques used in this study include interviews and observations. The subjects of this research are 10 students from MI Hidayatul Islam Clarak, one teacher, and two student guardians. The student subjects were selected from families who have experienced divorce. The age range of the research subjects is between 7 and 12 years old, corresponding to elementary school age. The results indicate that following a divorce, most children tend to live with their mothers, while only a few live with their fathers. Additionally, it is not uncommon for children after a divorce to be taken in by one of their grandmothers and enrolled in an elementary school, such as MI Hidayatul Islam, where the research was conducted. Research findings indicate that the impact of parental divorce on students' character can be observed primarily in psychological dimensions. Emotionally, children often experience feelings of loss, confusion, and even anxiety due to changes in family support, especially when they live only with their mother or other relatives, such as a grandmother. This limited parental presence may lead to a perceived lack of attention or support from their father, affecting their emotional stability. Psychologically, children may face identity crises and become more vulnerable to issues like prolonged insecurity or depression, which can have long-term effects on their character development and behavior.

Abstract

The learning process at the elementary school level is still dominated by conventional approaches that are repetitive and lack participation and tolerance of students. In this context, the integration of game-based learning media (games) as a strategic alternative that has the potential to increase participation and tolerance that is relevant to the progress of the times. This study aims to describe the use of educational games in Civic Education (PKn) learning as an effort to increase participation and tolerance of elementary school students. Abstract

This study aims to enhance students’ motivation and participation in elementary mathematics learning by utilising the interactive digital media “Wordwall” as an alternative solution to the low levels of student interest and engagement in a subject often perceived as complex and less appealing. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analysed descriptively through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The informants consisted of the principal, teachers, and fourth-grade students at MI Darus Sholihin, Boto District, Probolinggo Regency. The results of the study indicate that the use of Wordwall media effectively increased students’ motivation and participation in mathematics learning. This is evidenced by the increased number of students who actively asked questions, responded, engaged in discussions, and interacted during the learning process. Moreover, the classroom atmosphere became more conducive, enjoyable, and interactive. Thus, the implementation of Wordwall media serves as an innovative strategy to improve the quality of mathematics learning in elementary schools

Abstract

The process of teaching natural sciences at the elementary education level faces challenges in presenting abstract concepts, such as the mechanism of the human digestive system, which requires a high level of visualization ability. This study aims to describe the implementation of a three-dimensional learning aid based on plasticine to improve mastery of the digestive system concept among fifth-grade students at MI Muhammadiyah 2 Probolinggo. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with the science teacher and fifth-grade students as the research subjects. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings indicate that the implementation of the 3D plasticine learning aid combined with thematic songs produced a significant transformation in classroom learning dynamics and students’ conceptual mastery. Students who were initially passive became more enthusiastic, were able to systematically explain the digestive process from the mouth to the anus, and demonstrated a significant increase in the class average score. The plasticine learning aid enables multimodal learning that accommodates kinesthetic, visual, and auditory learning styles while fostering creativity, collaboration skills, and students’ fine motor abilities. These findings reinforce that concrete teaching aids based on locally available materials can serve as an effective and economical alternative for improving scientific literacy in elementary schools, particularly in areas with limited technological access. This study contributes to the development of constructivist and experiential learning-based instruction aligned with 21st-century education paradigms and the Merdeka Belajar policy, which emphasizes student independence and creativity.
