Abstract

This research aims to develop an Academic Progress Information System (SIsKA) in the Computer Science Study Program, Postgraduate Program at Ganesha University of Education. The incremental development model is used in the development of SIsKA. The evaluation stage is carried out using the Focus Group Discussions technique to validate user input for the development stage. Evaluation was carried out on 20 respondents, who were selected using simple random sampling technique from active SIsKA users. Testing of the SIsKA development code is also carried out using White Box Testing. The results of the evaluation of phase 1 and phase 2 of development succeeded in providing recommendations for improvements according to user needs. The evaluation results from phase 3 of development show that SIsKA is in accordance with user needs. The results of the White Box test show that all lecturer page functions are at a simple level. Future development and evaluation can focus on improving the complexity of the 14 functions on the administrator and student pages, as well as analyzing data security related to SIsKA.

Abstract

MURDER cooperative learning model is based on cognitive theory that focuses on how humans acquire, embed, and process what they learn, as well as how the thinking and learning process occurs. This study aims to (1) determine whether the Edmodo-assisted MURDER cooperative learning model has a positive effect on students' problem solving ability and students’ motivation in learning mathematics (2) determine whether the Edmodo-assisted MURDER cooperative learning model has a positive effect on students' mathematical problem solving abilities (3) to determine whether the The MURDER cooperative learning model assisted by edmodo has a positive effect on students' motivation to learn mathematics. The research method used is a quasi experiment (quasi experiment) with the research hypothesis testing technique used is MANOVA. The experimental results show that (1) the problem solving ability and motivation to learn mathematics of students who take the Edmodo-assisted MURDER cooperative learning model is significantly better than problem solving ability and motivation to learn mathematics of students who take conventional learning, (2) the mathematics problem solving ability of students who following the Edmodo-assisted MURDER cooperative learning model is significantly better than the mathematics problem solving ability of students who take conventional learning, (3) the motivation to learn mathematics of students who take the Edmodo-assisted MURDER cooperative learning model is significantly better than the motivation to learn mathematics of students who take conventional learning .

Abstract

The learning of addition and subtraction that usually be done in sequence impact students’ tendency to separate type of the strategies employ to solve the related problems. In fact, there are a number of situations that can be observed and solved through both lenses. Therefore, in this study we designed a simultaneous addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers learning trajectory. The learning activities were constructed based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) Approach. This design study was conducted in three steps consist of preliminary study, teaching experiments, and retrospective analysis. The teaching experiments were done in two cycle, the first was done with four students and the second was done with 33 students in two classes of an elementary school located in Singaraja, Bali. The data related to number sense ability were gathered from observation and students’ written work in solving worksheet and post-test. The collected data were analyzed using constant comparative method. From the results, we found that a simultaneous learning of two-digit numbers addition and subtraction were effectively develop the students’ number sense and encourage the students to develop efficient counting strategies.

Abstract

Pengaruh Integrasi Media GeoGebra terhadap Pemahaman Konsep Geometri Ditinjau dari Kemampuan Spasial Siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh integrasi media GeoGebra terhadap pemahaman konsep geometri ditinjau dari kemampuan spasial siswa. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP SANTU Stanislaus Borong sebanyak 113 siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperiemn semu dengan desain penelitian menggunakan factorial design dengan desain treatment by level yang melibatkan sampel sebanyak 60 orang. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik simple random sampling. Dalam penelitian ini data yang diperlukan adalah data tentang kemampuan spasial dan pemahaman konsep geometri siswa. Data kemampuan spasial siswa diperoleh melalaui tes kemampuan spasial dan data pemahaman konsep matematika diperoleh melalui tes pemahaman konsep geometry siswa. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan untuk pegujian hipotesis digunakan analisis varians (ANAVA) dua jalur melalui uji F. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukan bahwa: 1) Pemahaman konsep geometri siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran berbantuan media GeoGebralebih lebih baik dari pemahaman konsep geometri siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. 2) Tidak terdapat interaksi antara pembelajaran berbantuan media GeoGebra dan kemampuan spasial siswa terhadap pemahaman konsep geometri siswa.

Abstract

English for Mathematics (EFM) is one of the important courses to prepare the prospective mathematics teacher in teaching mathematics using English as language of instruction. Besides that, EFM also enable the students in mathematics education department to employ more references as learning sources. Reflected to the important of students’ ability in EFM, we plan to develop the textbook related to the course. The whole study will use the method of Research & Development with three steps of Preliminary Research, Prototyping Stage dan Assessment Phase. The present study was focused on the first stage to analysis the needs of the textbook development. The subjects were 27 students of second year mathematics education study program in a state university in Nusa Tenggara Barat, Indonesia. The subjects were experienced the course of EFM in previous year. The data were gathered from students’ written work and interview with students and lecturers of EFM. We analyzed the data using quantitative descriptive method to evaluate the students’ mastery in EFM. From the analysis, it was found that the students’ score were lacking in mathematical terms and spoken language of mathematical symbols. The interview with the lecturers also confirmed that the learning sources in EFM is still limited. Therefore, to support the students in learning EFM better, the textbook is highly needed.

Abstract

ITB STIKOM BALI is an educational institution that uses a lecturer information system to help work.  However, there are still some obstacles regarding how effective the lecturers' satisfaction is in using the Lecturer Information System.  This research is focused on the analysis of the effectiveness of satisfaction using the Lecturer Information System as measured by the PIECES variables.  The population of this study includes all active lecturers who use the lecturer information system as many as 155 people. The samples were determined by applying the SRS (Simple Random Sampling) technique using tables developed by Isaac and Michael.  Of the 155 populations based on the 10% significance calculation selected to get a total of 99 samples, data collection was carried out by giving a questionnaire to all samples and there were as many as 93 people that returned it.  The technique used to evaluate the Lecturer Information System is the PIECES method which focuses on 6 variables; Performance, Information, Economic, Control, Efficiency, and Service.  This technique is more suitable to use and can focus on measuring the accuracy of each variable.  To measure the level of user satisfaction from each variable, the questionnaire had 17 statements using a Likert scale to determine the value of the user's opinion on the system.  The results of the analysis were obtained from the calculation of the questionnaire value of all respondents using the satisfaction calculation formula developed by Kaplan and Norton.  From the reference criteria for the assessment of satisfaction, the results of the analysis show that the average value is 3.4 - 4.91, which means that users are satisfied using the Lecturer Information System with details of the scores on the variables Performance 4.19, Information 4.16, Economic 4.26, Control 3.85, Efficiency 4.23, and Service 4.21.  It can be concluded that the use of Lecturer Information Systems statistically shows that it is quite effective.  After getting the results of the value of each variable, a summary of recommendations will be given based on the smallest value in the sub-variables in each variable that received dissatisfied and very dissatisfied responses from the average questionnaire value.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mendeskripsikan perbedaan pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif script berbantuan geogebra dan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap kemampuan representasi dan disposisi matematika siswa SMP N 3 Tampaksiring. Penelitian eksperimen semu ini menggunakan disain The statistic Group Postest only design yang melibatkan 306 siswa. Dengan teknik cluster random sampling dipilih 2 kelas sebagai sampel kemudian dilakukan pengudian untuk terpilih kelas eksperimen I dan kelas eksperimen II. Intervensi pada kelompok eksperimen I adalah pengajaran dengan pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif script berbantuan geogebra dan pada kelas eksperimen II dengan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah serta dilaksanakan dalam 8 pertemuan. Data kemampuan representasi matematis siswa dikumpulkan menggunakan tes esai dan data disposisi dikumpulkan dengan angket. Selanjutnya, data tersebut dianalisis menggunakan uji MANOVA dengan tingkat signifikansi 5%. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan representasi dan disposisi matematika siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif script berbantuan geogebra secara signifikan lebih baik daripada siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran model berbasis masalah. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan terdapat perbedaan pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif script berbantuan geogebra dan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap kemampuan representasi dan disposisi matematika siswa SMP N 3 Tampaksiring

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan pemahaman konsep dan motivasi belajar siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran Blended Learning berbasis moodle dengan pemahaman konsep dan motivasi belajar siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 5 Denpasar tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Sampel penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling sehingga ada dua kelas. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji MANOVA dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep dan motivasi belajar siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran Blended Learning berbasis moodle lebih baik daripada pemahaman konsep dan motivasi belajar siswa siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Blended Learning berbasis moodle berpengaruh positif terhadap pemahaman konsep dan motivasi belajar siswa.

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to compare problem solving ability and mathematical connection of students who were learned using reciprocal teaching model with authentic problems and students who were learned using conventional learning. This research applied quasi experiment method with control only group design. The sample of this study consisted of 75 junior high school students who are divided into two groups. The experimental group was learned using reciprocal teaching model with authentic problems and the control group received conventional learning. The data was collected using test and analized using Manova. The result showed that problem solving abilities and mathematical connection of students who were learned using reciprocal teaching model with authentic problems were higher than students who were learned by conventional learning (F = 4.310, p(0,014). Thus, it can be concluded that the reciprocal teaching model with authentic problem has positive effect on problem solving abilities and mathematical connection of students.

Abstract

Balinese script writing, as one of Balinese cultural richness, is going to extinct because of its decreasing use. This research is one of the ways to preserve Balinese script writing using technological approach. Through collaboration between Computer Science and Balinese Language discipline, this research focused on the development of a Latin-to-Balinese script transliteration robotic system that was called LBtrans-Bot. LBtrans-Bot can be used as a learning system to give the transliteration knowledge as one aspect of Balinese script writing. In this research area, LBtrans-Bot was known as the first system that utilize Noto Sans Balinese font and was developed based on the identified seventeen kinds of special word. LBtrans-Bot consists of the transliterator web application, the transceiver console application, and the robotic arm with its GUI controller application. The transliterator used the Model-View-Controller architectural pattern, where each of them was implemented by using MySQL database (as the repository for the words belong to the seventeen kinds of special word), HTML, PHP, CSS, and Bootstrap (mostly for the User Interface responsive design), and JavaScript (mostly for the transliteration algorithm and as the controller between the Model and the View). Dictionary data structure was used in the transliterator memory as a place to hold data (words) from the Model. The transceiver used batch script and AutoIt script to receive and trasmit data from the transliterator to the GUI controller, which control the Balinese script writing of the robotic arm. The robotic arm with its GUI controller used open-source mDrawBot Arduino Robot Building platform. Through the experiment, LBtrans-Bot has been able to write the 34-pixel font size of the Noto Sans Balinese font from HTML 5 canvas that has been setup with additional 10-pixel length of the width and the height of the Balinese script writing area. Its transliterator gave the accuracy result up to 91% (138 of 151) testing cases of The Balinese Alphabet writing rules and examples document by Sudewa. This transliterator result outperformed the best result of the known existing transliterator based on Bali Simbar font, i.e. Transliterasi Aksara Bali, that only has accuracy up to 68% (103 of 151) cases of the same testing document. In the future work, LBtrans-Bot could be improved by: 1) Accommodating more complex Balinese script with trade off to the limited writing area of robotic system; 2) Enhancing its transliterator to accommodating the rules and/or examples from the testing document that recently cannot be handled or gave incorrect transliteration result; enriching the database consists of words belong to the seventeen kinds of special word; and implementing semantic relation transliteration.
