Abstract

This research aims to know the problem of what is the students’ perception toward E-Learning at English Education Study Program of IAI Muhammadiyah Sinjai, especially during the pandemic era. The researchers use the descriptive qualitative method in this research. The population in this research were all students in English Education Study Program, Academic Year 2017/2018 of Faculty Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, IAI Muhammadiyah Sinjai that consist of 34 people. While the sample of this research is also 34 people by using Total Sampling technique. Technique of collection data that used in this research were interview, coding, classifying, and documentation. The result of this research showed that most of the students thought that the use of E-Learning in pandemic era was negative perceptions. These negative perception caused by some reasons, namely: the limitation of network and internet quotes; unsupportive facilities, such as laptop and gadget or handphone; limited time in interacting with lecturers.

Abstract

This research sets the goal to identify and document the resources supporting the success of the 2013 curriculum at SMKN 2 Sinjai and to question these contributions based on empirical facts. There are many factors and even cases related to various supporting resources, but in different contexts and places. Qualitative data were collected descriptively-exploratively as an option to see events in objects. The criteria for contributing informants were principals, related teachers and other educators and were selected by purposive sampling. Interview, observation and document review techniques were combined to obtain data and ensured validity through triangulation techniques. The collected data was then analyzed by identified, grouped, verified, synthesized, and compared. Interpretive analysis reveals that various factors and resources have contributed to the success of the learning curriculum such as representative facilities and infrastructure, managerial principals, resource competence and educator collaboration, educator learning management, utilization of learning resources, and use of learning strategies and models. These findings can contribute and have implications for the management of educational curriculum implementation and in different educational institutions.

Abstract

This research aims to discover the causes of the language learners of English Education study program in Islamic Institute of Muhammadiyah Sinjai procrastination behaviour. This research is categorized as a phenomenological research by using qualitative approach. The subject of this research is the students of English Education Study Program of IAI Muhammadiyah Sinjai. The techniques of data collection used are observation, interview, and documentation and the technique of data analysis is using Miles and Huberman theory. The result shows that the students are intended to do the academic procrastination behaviour which caused by: (1) delay in starting and completing task at hand, (2) delay in doing assignments, (3) time gap between planned and actual performance, and (4) doing other activities that are more fun than doing the task that must be done. Abstract

Speaking is not only conveying certain meanings but sometimes producing utterances has other meanings, speaking often suddenly changes thoughts, this then results in non-fluency in English. The purpose of this study was to find out the types of hesitation in speaking English in the English language education study program and to find out the factors of students' hesitation in speaking English in the English language education study program Classes of Islamic University of Ahmad Dahlan Sinjai. The type of research used in this research is phenomenological research, qualitative research pays attention to qualitative phenomena related to quality or diversity. Individual beliefs, experiences, and systems of meaning are of particular concern to qualitative researchers. The results of this study found that the most common doubts were fillers that were not lexical such as uhh, err, ee, aah, umm, and ehmm. The slightest hesitation is that a false start must be traced back. And also, there are nine types of doubt that occur viz 1).Silent Pause 2).Filler, 3).Repeat, 4).False Start, (Unrestricted), 5). False Start (Retraced) 6).Corrections, 7). nterjection, 8). Stutters, and 9). Slip of tongue. Based on previous observations, it can be concluded that all students of Islamic University of Ahmad Dahlan Sinjai who are the object of research show hesitation when speaking English.

Abstract

This study aims to know the influence of teacher-students' proximity towards student activeness in learning English at MTs. Darul Ihsan Salohe. The type of this research is descriptive quantitative research. The sample of this research is 64 students. The data collection techniques are questionnaires, observations, and documentation, with data analysis techniques using Normality test, linearity test, simple linear regression, and T-Test. The results of this research can be proven from the results of the first normality test, the significant value of 0,200 > 0,05 it can be concluded that the data is normally distributed. The linearity test shows that the significance value of deviation from linearity is 0,179. It can be concluded that the deviation significance value of 0,179 >0,05 means that there is a relationship between the X variable (proximity) and the Y variable (Students Activeness). Then, the hypothesis test through simple linear regression that there is an influence between the X and Y variables because the significant value is 0,0001 < 0,05. Second, the T-test shows a significant value of 0,0001 < 0,05, which means H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. There is a 38% significant influence of proximity towards students activeness.

Abstract

This research sets the goals to find out the form of gamification in the learning evaluation on the learning outcomes of English Education students and the effectiveness of using gamification in the learning evaluation on the learning outcomes of English Education students. English Book Grammar Application and Cue Card used as the media in implementing the gamification. Quantitative research with pre-experimental was conducted in this research. The research was conducted at English Education Study Program Islamic Institute of Muhammadiyah (IAIM) Sinjai and English Education Study Program of Makassar Islamic University (UIM). The sample of this research were 25 students from IAIM Sinjai and UIM by using purposive sampling technique. Test and documentation techniques were combined to obtain the data. The collected data then analyzed by descriptive statistics and inferential statistic. The result showed that: (1) the form of gamification in the learning evaluation of English Education students using the English Book Grammar application and Cue Card is like playing the game with its components, such as grouping the students, explaining the rules, giving question to the students, the students competing answer the question by using English Book Grammar App and Cue Card, scoring the result, and giving rewards to the winner. (2) the use of gamification in the learning evaluation is effective on the learning outcomes of English Education students. It can be seen from the result of data analysis by using t-test where sig. 0,000 < 0,05 means H1 is accepted.

Abstract

Vocabulary teaching, especially in early childhood, must be emphasized, because having sufficient vocabulary will make it easier for children to communicate. The Lontara script is a regional language that is now almost forgotten by the younger generation; therefore, this research tries to integrate the Lontara script in learning English vocabulary. The type of research used in this research is quantitative research with experimental methods. In this study, researchers used the One-Group Pre-Test-Post-Test Design. The data obtained can be interpreted to be in positive ranks, with an average value (mean ranks) equal to 24.50, and a total value (sum of ranks) equal to 1176.00. This means that there is an increase in post-test scores after treatment, which means that the integration of Lontara Bugis script in learning English vocabulary is effective in improving understanding of English vocabulary for fifth-grade students at MI Darul Abrar Balle Village, MIS Arrahman Labuaja, and MIS UKI Siputanre Cakkela, which are in Kahu District, Bone Regency, South Sulawesi Province.

Abstract

Evaluasi Pembelajaran adalah salah satu proses untuk menentukan tingkat pencapaian dari suatu pembelajaran yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengumpulkan informasi yang menjadi landasan dalam mengukur perkembangan pelajar pemula. Salah satu cara untuk mengevaluasi Pelajar Pemula dengan memanfaatkan JQuiz yang ada pada aplikasi Hot Potatoes. Aplikasi ini dibuat khusus untuk membuat soal-soal evaluasi pembelajaran. Salah satu bagian dari aplikasi Hot Potatoes adalah JQuiz yang bentuk soalnya terdiri dari pilihan ganda, short answer, Hybrid dan Multi-Select. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bentuk penggunaan JQuiz pada aplikasi Hot Potatoes sebagai media evaluasi pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris Pelajar Pemula serta untuk mengetahui perspektif Pelajar Pemula terhadap media evaluasi pembelajaran yang digunakan di Desa Kompang Kecamatan Sinjai Tengah. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan teori Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data (data reduction), penyajian data (data display) serta penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi (verification). Adapaun hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pelajar pemula menganggap dengan adanya JQuiz ini memberikan perspektif baru dalam pelaksanaan evaluasi pembelajaran. Selain itu, penggunaan aplikasi ini memberikan kemudahan dan antusiasme yang tinggi dikalangan pelajar pemula dalam melaksanakan evaluasi pembelajaran.

Abstract

Learning English especially tenses is still a scary thing to learn for most students. However, the English Education Study Program has a forum that provides space for students to actualize themselves in practicing to become peer tutors, namely the English Meeting Club. The purpose of this study is to find out the application of the concept of peeragogy in learning tenses at the English Meeting Club in the English Language Education Study Program. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative with a sample of English Education study program students consisting of 3 (three) batches. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation with data analysis using the theory of Miles and Huberman. The results obtained from this study are related to the concept of applying peeragogy in learning tenses at the English Meeting Club of the English Education Study Program, namely the teacher (mentor) is a student of English Education Study Program who every week has been arranged in turns by presenting different tenses themes. Material presentation techniques were dominated by discussions and games. In addition, the teacher also provides tricks and tips that make it easier for students to better understand tenses material. The presentation of this material is also not only done in the classroom, but is carried out outside the classroom, both in the afternoon and at night.

Abstract

Pendidikan tidak lepas dari proses pembelajaran karena semua proses pendidikan berlangsung melalui kegiatan belajar. Pendidikan menjadi sangat penting, khususnya pada masa pendidikan usia dini.Pembelajaran yang bermutu tinggi merupakan kunci utama dalam pendidikan. Minat belajar peserta didik yang kurang bisa mengakibatkan hasil belajar peserta didik belum optimal. Untuk itu, perlu alternatif pemecahannya agar minat belajar siswa meningkat. Minat belajar menjadi salah satu faktor penghambat majunya pendidikan. Menurunnya minat belajar biasanya terjadi karena disebabkan berbagai faktor salah satunya yaitu pada setiap proses pembelajaran guru tidak menggunakan metode yang bervariatif. Di UPT SD Inpres 6/80 Latellang, metode pembelajaran yang tepat untuk diterapkan adalah metode reward. Reward dapat berupa hal sederhana seperti pujian dan tepuk tangan ataupun dapat berupa bentuk hadiah yang diberikan kepada siswa. Dengan adanya reward siswa merasa keatifannya atau upaya yang siswa lakukan merasadiapresiasi sehingga muncul rasa senang dan semangat bagi siswa untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran.
