Abstract

This study aims to determine: the effect of the application of REBT counseling guidance on the learning motivation of students of SMP Negeri 35 Sinjai. This study is a quantitative study using the ex post facto method. The population of this study was all students in class VII.2 of SMP Negeri 35 Sinjai as many as 23 people consisting of 10 males and 13 females. The data collection techniques were questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique was quantitative research using statistical methods. The results of the study on the questionnaire sheet showed that the application of REBT counseling guidance had an effect of 32.7% on students' learning motivation. The results showed that Thitung counseling REBT 3.193> Ttable student learning motivation 2.085 and the significance value or probability was 0.004 <0.05, this means that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. Based on the description above, it shows that the implementation of REBT counseling guidance has an effect on the learning motivation of students at SMP Negeri 35 Sinjai.

Abstract

The implementation of the independent curriculum continues to raise numerous questions among educators. Teachers face the challenge of adapting to and successfully implementing this curriculum by employing engaging media and effective learning strategies tailored to their respective disciplines. This is especially crucial in the context of English language instruction, a subject often perceived as difficult by students. One potential solution to address these challenges is the adoption of differentiated learning strategies. Differentiated learning aims to unlock and maximize the potential of every student by aligning instructional methods with their individual needs, readiness levels, interests, and learning profiles. Within this framework, Cultural Responsive Teaching (CRT) emerges as a valuable approach, enabling educators to create inclusive and culturally relevant learning experiences that resonate with diverse student backgrounds. This study investigates the implementation of CRT in supporting differentiated learning strategies in English language education. Utilizing a pre-experimental design, the research was conducted at MAS Darul Qalam Bulukumba. Data collection methods included administering questionnaires to assess student interest and conducting pre- and post-tests to measure learning outcomes. The findings reveal a significant positive improvement in students' interest in learning English after the introduction of CRT, compared to their interest levels prior to its implementation. Additionally, the analysis of test results indicates a notable increase in students' academic performance, demonstrating the effectiveness of CRT in fostering both engagement and achievement. These results highlight the potential of CRT as a transformative tool in enhancing English language learning in the context of the independent curriculum.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi dan peningkatan kemampuan komputasi komputer telah membuka peluang untuk menerapkan berbagai aplikasi dan algoritme yang sebelumnya tidak mungkin dijalankan pada perangkat portabel seperti laptop dan ponsel pintar. Salah satu teknik yang semakin populer adalah kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI), yang kini telah menjadi bagian dari kehidupan sehari-hari. AI adalah istilah umum yang mengacu pada simulasi kecerdasan manusia oleh mesin yang menggunakan data besar untuk melakukan berbagai tugas. Kehadiran AI telah membawa dampak positif dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan manusia, termasuk di bidang pendidikan. Namun, di samping manfaatnya, AI juga memiliki dampak negatif yang signifikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi pengaruh AI terhadap pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dari perspektif epistemologis. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dan analisis literatur. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa AI dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis melalui beberapa cara, seperti meningkatkan akses ke sumber daya pembelajaran, personalisasi pembelajaran, mendukung pembelajaran kolaboratif, memberikan umpan balik yang cepat dan akurat, serta mendukung pembelajaran berbasis masalah (Problem-Based Learning/PBL). Namun, penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi beberapa dampak negatif, termasuk ketergantungan pada teknologi, kualitas informasi yang tidak terjamin, isolasi sosial, serta masalah etika dan privasi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan yang seimbang dan strategis dalam mengintegrasikan AI dalam pendidikan untuk memastikan bahwa manfaatnya dapat dimaksimalkan, sementara dampak negatifnya diminimalkan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan sosial emosional anak melalui pembentukan karakter menggunakan media kartu hati di RA Ihya Al-Ulum 1 Universitas Islam Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), dengan melibatkan 10 anak kelompok B sebagai subjek penelitian. Dalam proses pembelajaran, setiap anak diberikan kartu hati yang berfungsi untuk menilai perilaku mereka. Jika anak tidak mematuhi aturan atau menunjukkan perilaku yang kurang baik, guru memberikan titik hitam pada kartu hati, sementara perilaku yang positif diberi simbol hati cerah atau bintang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada indikator kepatuhan terhadap aturan, kemampuan mendengarkan arahan guru, empati terhadap teman, dan pengendalian emosi. Pada siklus pertama, sebagian besar anak menunjukkan perkembangan ke kategori "Mulai Berkembang" (MB), dengan 30% anak mencapai kategori "Berkembang Sesuai Harapan" (BSH). Pada siklus kedua, 80% anak mencapai kategori "Berkembang Sesuai Harapan" (BSH) dan 10% anak mencapai "Berkembang Sangat Baik" (BSB), dengan tingkat keberhasilan keseluruhan mencapai 90%. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media kartu hati dapat menjadi strategi pembelajaran yang efektif dalam membina sosial emosional anak usia dini. Umpan balik yang diberikan secara langsung melalui media ini membantu anak memahami dan memperbaiki perilaku mereka dengan cara yang menyenangkan dan bermakna. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan metode pembelajaran berbasis karakter, khususnya dalam konteks pendidikan Islam.

Abstract

Pesantren Pendidikan Islam (PPI) Darul Abrar di Desa Balle, Kabupaten Bone, memiliki peran penting dalam mencerdaskan masyarakat. Namun, salah satu fasilitas utama yaitu perpustakaan, tidak layak digunakan, sehingga menurunkan minat baca santri. Padahal, perpustakaan seharusnya menjadi sumber informasi pendukung selain dari ustadz/ustadzah. Pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan minat baca santri dan mempermudah akses informasi melalui pengadaan Mosque library berbasis digital. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research dengan pelibatan langsung tim pengabdian dalam seminar, pelatihan, dan pendampingan bagi pengelola pesantren. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan minat baca santri serta kepuasan peserta pelatihan. Kegiatan ini menyimpulkan bahwa digitalisasi perpustakaan efektif dalam mendukung budaya literasi di lingkungan pesantren.

Abstract

Tujuan dari pendampingan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris dengan menggunakan metode diskusi kelompok di SMPN 1 Patimpeng adalah untuk membantu siswa memahami materi Bahasa Inggris dengan lebih baik melalui interaksi dan kolaborasi. Berdasarkan hasil observasi selama pengabdian pada peserta didik di kelas VII.1 dan VIII.2 bahwa banyak siswa tampak mengantuk dan tidak fokus saat penjelasan materi berlangsung. Hal ini karena disebabkan oleh faktor-faktor seperti kurangnya motivasi belajar, kebisingan di lingkungan kelas atau suasana yang tidak kondusif untuk belajar serta ribut di ruang kelas pada saat memberi materi. Dengan diskusi kelompok memungkinkan siswa untuk bertanya, berbagi pendapat, dan saling menjelaskan konsep yang sulit dipahami. Pendampingan ini menggunakan metode Participatory Action Research (PAR), yang terdiri dari beberapa tahapan: identifikasi peserta didik, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil dari pendampingan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan yang signifikan pada peserta didik dalam memahami materi pembelajaran karena interaksi aktif dalam diskusi kelompok. Selain itu, metode ini berhasil memotivasi siswa untuk berpikir kritis dan analitis terhadap materi yang dibahas, dan membantu mereka mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Wordwall application in enhancing English vocabulary learning among fifth-grade students at SDN 4 Balangnipa. Using a quantitative approach with an experimental research design, the study involved 21 students who were assessed through pre-test and post-test evaluations, classroom observations, and questionnaires. Results demonstrated a significant improvement in students' vocabulary acquisition after implementing the Wordwall application, with post-test scores showing marked increases compared to pre-test scores. Statistical analysis using Paired Sample T-Test yielded a significance value of 0.000, indicating that the Wordwall application is highly effective for vocabulary instruction. Classroom observations revealed increased student engagement and enthusiasm during learning activities, while questionnaire responses showed positive student attitudes toward the interactive learning medium. The findings suggest that the Wordwall application provides an engaging, interactive platform that effectively enhances vocabulary acquisition through gamified learning experiences. This research contributes to the growing body of evidence supporting technology-based applications as valuable tools for vocabulary instruction in elementary education settings

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the improvement of the understanding of mathematical concepts of students in the XI class of application at SMK Muhammadiyah Balangnipa through the application of a group investigation-type cooperative learning model. The type of research used in this study is classroom action research (PTK), with a quantitative research approach. The population in this study is all Class XI students at SMK Muhammadiyah Balangnipa totaling 6 people using the total sampling technique in sampling. The data collection techniques in this study are concept comprehension tests, and documentation. The data analysis technique in this study is a prerequisite test consisting of a normality test, a homogeneity test, and a hypothesis test. The application of the group investigation type cooperative learning model provides learning motivation for students, thereby increasing students' understanding of concepts in learning activities. The cooperative learning model of group investigation type is feasible to be applied in the learning process. This is shown from the results of the N Gain Analysis on the understanding of mathematical concepts, namely Frequency in the ineffective category as many as 1 person, fracture in the less effective category is 1 person, frequency in the effective category is 3 people, and frequency in the moderately effective category is 1 person.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) in improving the English vocabulary mastery of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri No. 4 Balangnipa. The research was motivated by the lack of vocabulary mastery among students due to the use of conventional learning models. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest model was employed. The research sample consisted of 21 students. Data collection techniques included vocabulary tests, observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant improvement in vocabulary mastery, as indicated by the increase in students’ average scores from pretest to posttest. Statistical analysis revealed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that the PWIM method was effective. Observational data also showed active student participation and positive responses toward the learning model. The PWIM approach, which integrates visual imagery and contextual learning, was proven to enhance students’ engagement and retention of vocabulary. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that PWIM is an effective teaching model for improving English vocabulary mastery in elementary school students.

Abstract

This study explores the growing trend of English language usage in Indonesian cyberspaces, particularly in social media comments. The researchers employ a qualitative research approach, specifically a phenomenological study. Data is collected using the documentation method, through screenshots of comments containing English on social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook. This methodology allows for an in-depth examination of the real-world manifestations of English usage in Indonesian digital communication. This research aims to understand the motivations, contexts, and implications of this linguistic phenomenon. The results show that the use of English in Indonesian online spaces shows how language, technology, culture, and worldwide connections mix together. It shows Indonesia is more involved in global online talks while trying to keep its own language and culture. The findings suggest that English usage in Indonesian cyberspace is a complex phenomenon driven by various factors, including globalization, digital connectivity, and changing perceptions of language prestige.
