Abstract

Background: Tai Chi and many other Mind-body therapies have been very popular over the last few decades as useful tools for reducing stress and improving health. These methods are non-invasive and inexpensive. There are several reports showing that Tai Chi (TC) can regulate the host's immune system in many illnesses. This review summarizes the Tai Chi’s influence on breast cancer (BC) patients. Survivors of breast cancer often experience symptoms that reduce their quality of life during and after treatment, such as cognitive dysfunction, fatigue, sleep disturbances, depression, pain, and weight gain. The proinflammatory biomarkers like TNF-a, IL-1, IL-6 which activated through the central nervous system were believed inducing fatigue, pain , and other complications that caused hidarance on life activity. This becomes a serious problem as the number of survivors increases. The results of most studies show that Tai Chi reduced fatigue, pain, plasma levels of TNF-a and overall quality of life in breast cancer patients. Objective: To identify and evaluate the effect of TC training on inflammatory biomarkers, especially TNF-a, pain, and cancer-related fatigue (CRF) in breast cancer patients. Methods: Journal searching processes were performed through five electronic databases (ProQuest, Sciencedirect, PubMed, Google Scholar, and Sage Publications) and restricted from 2012 to 2022. The search strategy on the electronic databases was using terms like 'tai ji', 'tai chi', 'tumor necrosis factor-alpha', 'Interleukin-6', 'fatigue', 'pain', 'breast cancer', ‘biomarker’, 'TNF', 'TNF-a', and 'TNF-alpha'. The limitation of the study was only using academic journals and limited to Tai Chi training as an intervention. Reviewers obtained as many as 1.557 research journals. Then the reviewers analyzed the journal's contents obtained based on the eligibility of the topics, indexes or journal ratings through the Scimagojr website with journal criteria that met Q1 and Q2 quality, sample size, results from each journal, and limitations that occurred. Result: 15 journals were chosen to be reviewed and discussed about the intervention of Tai Chi, research methodology and study results using pain, fatigue and TNF-a biomarker. Conclusion: Tai Chi seems to be effective to reduce pain, cancer-related fatigue, and improves quality of life for breast cancer patients. accepts to TNF-a level plasma seems to be no different between usual care dan Tai chi practice. Moreover, it requires rigorous methodologies and randomized controlled trials to provide more reliable evidence.

Abstract

Abstract

Today the development of volleyball in the country is quite rapid, this is indicated by the increasing number of existing communities. Therefore, it is necessary to have a shoe design that can support the movement of volleyball in addition to being able to provide comfort and increase the performance of athletes. Unfortunately, despite the development of sports volleyball in soil water enough fast, however, development design of volleyball shoes did not experience significant development. This can be seen from the many complaints about the use of shoes on the market today. One of the problems that exist in the design of volleyball shoes, among others, is the complaint of feeling hot in the interior shoe because not enough presence ventilation on the upper part of shoes, and shoe soles are less flexible so that they are not able to support the jumping movement and there is no significant protection for the athlete's ankles when landing after jumping. Meanwhile, the shoes used by athletes do not fully provide a sense of comfort and cannot fully support volleyball movements. Some of the problems that arise are due to the lack of conducted analysis stages planning. Because that for getting design result shoe volleyball which truly good must through stages design which Correct. Besides, to provide comfort and satisfaction to the wearer in the analysis product should use approach ergonomics total (PET), through SHIP and appropriate technology (TTG).

Abstract

Many studies have been conducted to establish the connection between exercise and telomere length, but still have varying results. Telomeres are reiterative DNA sequences (5'-TTAGGGn-3') which function to protect genomic DNA from enzymatic degradation. Telomere length can be used as a biomarker of aging because its repetitive structures are known to be highly relevant in the cellular aging process and the shortening of telomeres that occurs with increasing age is considered as an important contributor to aging in organisms. Several factors that affect telomere length are oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, BMI, lifestyle such as smoking, alcohol intake, stress, increased insulin resistance, and exercise. This study aims to determine the correlation of exercise at different intensities on telomere length. The method used in this study is internet search for journals and articles through several websites. The eligible criteria include studies in English language published between 2012 and 2022. The studies that report the correlation of different intensities exercise on telomere length were selected for the systematic literature review. As a result, the people who perform moderate to vigorous physical activity more in their leisure time, have longer leukocyte telomere length (LTL) and long-term resistance training may exert a protective effect on muscle telomere length in the elderly. Several studies have reported a correlation between prevention of leukocyte telomere length shortening and exercise at a certain intensity successfully.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Aging is something that definitely happens and we can't avoid it but we can prevent it. The quality and quantity of muscle mass decreases with age. Sarcopenia is a decrease in muscle mass accompanied by a decrease in muscle strength. Muscle metabolism is influenced by many factors and signaling pathways. The level of IGF-1 plays an important role in maintaining the quality of skeletal muscle. Recent studies have shown that resistance training is essential for muscle development and increasing the efficiency of agonist and antagonist muscle groups. However, research on this topic varies greatly in terms of the frequency, intensity, duration, and type of exercise that builds IGF-1. The study was conducted using the literature method. We reviewed and compared the most recent journals discussing the relationship between sarcopenia and regular long-term physical exercise. Physical exercise with resistance training showed significant results for muscle strength and muscle mass in the elderly. High-resistance training has a major effect on increasing GH and cortisol. In conclusion, certain physical activities have a positive effect on muscle health that can be withdrawn by IGF1. Keywords: Sarcopenia; IGF-1; Resistance training
