Abstract

Problem Based Learning Model is a learning model that is intensively promoted at the University of Jambi at this time. This study aims to determine whether there is a significant effect on the learning outcomes of English study program students taught with the Problem Based Learning Model in the course of "Belajar dan Pembelajaran (Learning and Instruction). The research design used is Quasi-Experimental Research. This design involves two groups: one as the control group and one as the experimental group. The data obtained from this research is processed by calculating the gain or difference between the pretest and post-test scores. For time efficiency, data were analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) program for Windows version 24. Because of the Asymp value. Sig. (2-tailed) 0.381, which means greater than 0.025, it can be decided that H0 is accepted. So it can be concluded that the PBL learning model used in the experimental class is not effective enough to improve student learning outcomes in “Belajar dan Pembelajaran” courses.

One indicator of the success of the teaching and learning process is shown by the results of student evaluations. In learning and learning activities involve elements, namely, teachers, students, facilities and processes of learning and learning itself. In the learning process, the success of students in learning is influenced by innovative learning models. This study uses quantitative research methods. The research method used is a causal survey method with correlation techniques. The empirical data collected consisted of two independent variables, namely Learning Independence (X1), Learning Motivation (X2) and the dependent variable, namely Learning Outcomes (Y). Data collection techniques in quantitative research use a questionnaire developed through the indicators of each variable. The total number of population members is 3,239 people. The number of samples was obtained using the Slovin formula. So the minimum sample size in this study was 97 students from a population of 3,239 respondents with a significance level (?) of 10%. The results showed that the correlational hypothesis of the three variables was confirmed. It can be concluded that (1) There is a positive influence between Learning Independence (X1) on Learning Outcomes (Y) The results of hypothesis testing the effect of Learning Independence (X1) on Student Learning Outcomes (Y) with the regression equation = 22.241 + 0.792 X1, linear ( straight line), as evidenced by the linearity test. (2) There are results of hypothesis testing the effect of Learning Motivation (X2) on Students' Learning Outcomes (Y) with the regression equation = 23.197 + 0.799 X2, linear (straight line), (3) There is an Influence of Learning Independence (X1), Learning Motivation (X2) together on Learning Outcomes (Y). The results of hypothesis testing the effect of Learning Independence (X1), Learning Motivation (X2) together on Student Learning Outcomes (Y) with the regression equation = 22.484 + 1.837 X1 – 0.497 X2.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the extent to which Buddhist religious education contributes to strengthening the moral and ethical character of students at the Institute of Business, Information Technology, and Management. Buddhist religious education is viewed as an essential medium for shaping character based on the values of honesty, responsibility, discipline, and empathy. This research employed a pre-test and post-test design. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS, involving validity and reliability tests, normality and homogeneity tests, correlation analysis, regression analysis, and a Paired Sample t-Test. The mean score increased from 19.06 (pre-test) to 41.60 (post-test), indicating an improvement in students’ moral and ethical behaviour after participating in Buddhist religious education. The Paired Sample t-Test results show a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 ( 0.05), demonstrating a significant difference between pre- and post-learning outcomes. The correlation coefficient (R = 0.944) and the coefficient of determination (R² = 0.890) indicate a very strong relationship, in which 89% of the improvement in students’ moral and ethical development is explained by Buddhist religious education. Thus, Buddhist religious education has been proven to exert a positive and significant influence in shaping morally grounded and ethically responsible student character, thereby supporting the creation of a harmonious and integrity-driven campus environment.

Abstract

Women-owned MSMEs (MSMEs) play a significant role in the local economy, but still face challenges in improving business performance, particularly related to leadership, digital capabilities, and psychological well-being at work. This study aims to analyze the influence of women's leadership and digital capabilities on MSME performance, with job satisfaction as an intervening variable. This study used a quantitative approach through a survey of 120 women-owned MSMEs in Medan City. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results show that women's leadership and digital capabilities have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Digital capabilities also have a positive and significant direct effect on MSME performance, while women's leadership does not show a significant direct effect on MSME performance. Furthermore, the results of the indirect effect test indicate that job satisfaction plays a significant role in mediating the relationship between women's leadership and MSME performance, as well as between digital capabilities and MSME performance. These findings emphasize the importance of job satisfaction as a psychological mechanism in explaining the influence of leadership and digital capabilities on the performance of women-owned MSMEs. This study has implications for leadership development, digital capability enhancement, and the formulation of sustainable policies for empowering women-owned MSMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Role Clarity and Communication Quality on Organizational Performance with Job Satisfaction as a mediating variable in MSMEs in Medan City. Field phenomena indicate that most MSMEs still face problems related to unclear tasks, ineffective communication flows, and low job satisfaction that impact performance achievement. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method on 155 MSME respondents. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) to test the direct and indirect relationships between variables. The results show that Role Clarity and Communication Quality have a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction. In addition, Job Satisfaction significantly affects Organizational Performance. Both independent variables also have a direct effect on Organizational Performance, but the indirect effect through Job Satisfaction shows a stronger contribution. These findings confirm that psychological aspects and work relationships play an important role in improving MSME performance. Practically, this study provides recommendations for MSMEs to strengthen role clarity, improve communication quality, and prioritize job satisfaction to encourage improved organizational performance. Theoretically, the research findings support and expand the study of organizational behavior in the context of MSMEs.
