Abstract

This article intended to provides an explaination of how women political comprehension and their party identification in 1999 general election in Padang. The data is collected from 200 respondents by questionaire and analyzed by using quantitative descriptive method. Data finding shows majority of respondents engage to superficial political comprehension. Women political comprehension is only better in case of real political nuance such as presidential power, bureaucracy service and general election management. Meanwhile, in general, level of party identification is found rather weak which is resulted to easiness for women to being politicized. Party preferences of respondents in 1999 general election were PAN, PPP, Golkar, PK and PDI-Perjuangan in a row.

Abstract

This article is based on a study related to marginalization of traditional society in the implementation of Nagari government in West Sumatera, especially in connecting with political/government, economic, and socio-cultural aspects. This study was conducted through an exploratory survey in five regencies and fifteen Nagari in West Sumatera. Data in this study was collected through deep interview, questionnaire, observation, study of documentation and analyzed with descriptive analysis. Abstract

This study tried to explain about the profile women legislator after the quota of 30% women representation in legislator recruitment and their political efficacy toward political system in West Sumatera. The data is collected from 15 respondents of women legislator. Data in this study was collected through questionnaire and analyzed by using quantitative descriptive method. Data was also collected through deep interview and analyzed by using interactive model analysis. The finding of this research indicated that there are variations in their level of education and generally it seemed that their qualifications were good enough, while their efficacy toward political system are very positive. Abstract

The establishment of “Nagari Binaan” aims to realize the Nagari that could empower and capable of performing a real autonomy and responsible with all the strength of its resources. All of the efforts are aiming to provide optimum services for the community of the Nagari (village). This article focuses on the study of development programs and constraints faced in the implementation of the project. The findings of this study showed that of the 11 districts that made ​​coaching pilot project in general showed varying successes. The obstacles encountered this project are: coordination and synchronization program, the effectiveness of program delivery mechanisms, and community support. Abstract

This study intended to provides an explanation about the access and control of Chinese Women in  general election 2004 in Padang. The data is collected from 180 respondents in Kelurahan Pondok, Kecamatan Padang Barat, Padang City  through questionnaire and analyzed by using quantitative descriptive method. Data was also collected through deep interview and analyzed by using interactive model analysis. The finding of this research indicated that the access of Chinese women in general election tended to be low except as voters. The low access is parallel to their weakness of control in the election. Abstract

This research focuses on PKS’s  strategy to win the election in terms of segmentation strategy, targeting, and establishing position. The problem is:“how is PKS, dealing with opportunity and treat, win the election in terms of internal and external context”?. Data was collected through depth interview and analyzed using Miles and Huberman models. The finding of the research showed that in terms of segmentation strategy, PKS focus on  five communities segmentation, those are;  1) group of modern and educated peoples,  2) group of community fishermen, 3)  groups of farmer on the villages, 4) young educated peoples who’s participated in the reform period, and 5) group of women as active voters. From all of segmentations, PKS focuses on young educated peoples as their targeting party, while in terms of positioning strategy, PKS stated it self as dakwah and reform party. PKS opportunity in general election in 2009 relates to three dominant factors, that are; 1) party’s image 2), recruitment member system and 3) Minangkabau society culture. Abstract

At this time, Indonesia is in transition era head for democracy. This process has moved to “uncompleted replacement” following the fall of Neo-patrimonial regime that was ruling for more than three decades. Many of complicated problems has raised by this era, such as disintegration, mass euphoria, segregation elite, parliamentary “noise”, as well as many kinds of conflict among political parties which hit with the fist in anger.
