Abstract

Forage consisting of grass and legumes is an important aspect of ruminant but availability is often dependent on the rainy season so preservation technology is needed, namely silage. This study aimed to determine the nutritional content of silage made from a mixture of Pennisetum purpureum and Sesbania grandiflora with different doses of fermentation additives. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used, consisting of four treatments with five replications. They were P0: (75% Pennisetum purpureum + 25% Sesbania grandiflora), P1: (75% Pennisetum purpureum + 25% Sesbania grandiflora + 0.1% additive), P2: (75% Pennisetum purpureum + 25% Sesbania grandiflora + 0.2% additive), P3: (75% Pennisetum purpureum + 25% Sesbania grandiflora + 0.3% additive). Each treatment was added 2% molasses and incubated for 21 days. The results showed that the addition of fermentation additives had no significant effect (P>0.05) on DM and OM content but had a highly significant effect (P<0.01) on increasing CP, EE, and TDN content and reducing CF content. The highest average DM and OM values were observed in P0 (21.02% and 89.27%, respectively), while the highest average increases in CP, EE, and TDN were found in P3 (15.31%, 2.85%, and 50.32%, respectively), and the greatest reduction in CF was also recorded in P3 (27.89%).

Abstract

Aquaculture faces serious threats, one of which is infectious disease caused by Vibrio parahaemolyticus bacteria. These bacteria have shown antibiotic resistance and cause significant economic losses. The need for safe and sustainable antibacterial alternatives is crucial given the negative impact of using synthetic antibiotics. This review explores the potential of Shorea beccariana, Uncaria gambir, and Swietenia macrophylla as natural antibacterial agents against Vibrio parahaemolyticus. A systematic descriptive study method was used to integrate primary literature. Results showed that V. parahaemolyticus is a pathogenic Gram-negative bacterium with a complex virulence mechanism. Various studies have confirmed the antibacterial activity of plant secondary metabolites, such as flavonoids, tannins, and terpenoids, against Vibrio spp. Although the specific effectiveness of these three plants against V. parahaemolyticus has not been widely studied, the bioactive compounds identified in their extracts show strong potential. These compounds work by damaging the integrity of bacterial cells and disrupting their metabolism, offering a promising natural solution for vibriosis control.

Abstract

Pengangkutan di Indonesia memiliki peranan penting dalam memajukan dan memperlancar perdagangan dalam maupun luar negeri karena adanya pengangkutan dapat memperlancar arus barang dari daerah produksi ke konsumen sehingga kebutuhan konsumen dapat terpenuhi. Transportasi atau pengangkutan merupakan bidang kegiatan yang sangat penting dalam kehidupan masyarakat Indonesia. Pentingnya transportasi bagi masyarakat Indonesia disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor antara lain, keadaan geografis Indonesia, yang terdiri dari ribuan pulau kecil dan besar, perairan yang terdiri dari sebagian besar laut, sungai dan danau yang memungkinkan pengangkutan dilakukan melalui darat, perairan, dan udara guna menjangkau seluruh wilayah Indonesia. Tujuan diadakannya pengangkutan adalah untuk memindahkan barang dari tempat asal ke tempat tujuan untuk mencapai dan meninggikan manfaat serta efisiensi. Mengangkut artinya mengangkat dan membawa, memuat dan membawa atau mengirimkan. Undang-undang Nomor 17 Tahun 2008 Tentang Pelayaran. “Angkutan di Perairan adalah kegiatan mengangkut dan/atau memindahkan penumpang dan/atau barang dengan menggunakan kapal.” Perusahaan angkutan di perairan wajib mengangkut penumpang dan/atau barang terutama angkutan pos yang disepakati dalam perjanjian pengangkutan. Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 20 Tahun 2010 Tentang Angkutan Di Perairan. Perjanjian pengangkutan, dibuktikan dengan karcis penumpang atau dokumen muatan. Perusahaan angkutan di perairan harus memastikan: sarana angkutan kapal telah memenuhi persyaratan kelaiklautan; sarana angkutan kapal telah diisi bahan bakar dan air tawar yang cukup serta dilengkapi dengan pasokan logistik; ruang penumpang, ruang muatan, ruang pendingin, dan tempat penyimpanan lain di kapal cukup memadai dan aman untuk ditempati penumpang dan/atau dimuati barang; dan cara pemuatan, penanganan,penyimpanan, penumpukan, dan pembongkaran barang dan/atau naik atau turun penumpang dilakukan secara cermat dan berhati-hati

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran dan respons masyarakat terhadap tanda-tanda Kekerasan Dalam Rumah Tangga (KDRT) di Desa Pandai, Kecamatan Woha, Kabupaten Bima, NTB. Metode Pengabdian dengan memberikan penyuluhan, workshop, dan pembentukan forum diskusi untuk berbagi informasi dan pengalaman terkait KDRT. Hasil Pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan sekitar 40% dalam respons masyarakat terhadap tanda-tanda KDRT, terutama pada kelompok rentan seperti remaja dan lansia. Meskipun menghadapi tantangan stigma sosial dan ketakutan melaporkan, upaya pengurangan stigma dan penguatan perlindungan korban telah dilakukan. Tim pengabdian menegaskan keberhasilan program deteksi dini dalam menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung pelaporan kasus KDRT. Implikasinya, diperlukan langkah-langkah berkelanjutan, termasuk adaptasi program serupa di wilayah lain dengan mempertimbangkan karakteristik lokal. Dengan demikian, upaya pencegahan dan penanganan KDRT dapat terus berkembang, memberikan kontribusi positif bagi masyarakat, dan memperkuat fondasi perubahan budaya yang mendukung keadilan dan keamanan di tingkat lokal

Abstract

In tropical areas like Indonesia, the presence of forage feed is significantly impacted by seasonal changes, resulting in abundance during the wet season and scarcity during the dry season. Agricultural waste is a solution as an alternative animal feed, one of which is corn stover. Research aimed at determining the nutritional composition of corn stover fermented with different fermentor was conducted at the Nutrition and Animal Feed Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Science, University of Mataram. This research was organized based on a completely randomized design with four treatments and five replications. They were T0: 1 kg corn stover (CS) without treatment, T1: 1 kg CS + 40 g Saccharomyces cerevisiae (SC); T2: 1 kg CS + 40 ml MA-11; T3: 1 kg CS + 20 gr SC + 20 ml MA-11. The variables observed were physical properties such as colour, texture and aroma and nutritional content (Dry matter (DM), Organic matter (OM), Crude Protein (CP), Crude Fibre (CF) and Crude Fat (CFa). The results showed that the addition of SC and MA-11 not give a significant effect (P>0.05) on CFa. However, the addition of them had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the decrease of DM, BO and SK content and the increase of PK content. The highest average BK and OM contents were obtained in T0 (control) at 81.44%, and 82.20%, the highest average CP and CFa contents were obtained in T2 (MA-11) at 9.36%, and 1.90%. The lowest average CF content was obtained in T2 (MA-11) at 26.40%.

Abstract

Tilapia is a commodity that is widely consumed by the public, especially in Indonesia. Fresh tilapia offal has a protein content composition of 55.55%, so to increase its selling value it is often made into protein hydrolysate. Protein hydrolysis using enzymes is an effective way, because it can make protein hydrolysates avoid damage to certain amino acids. Proteolytic enzymes have many types and one that can be used as a hydrolyzer, in producing protein hydrolysates is bromelain enzyme. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of proteolytic enzyme type and hydrolysis time on antioxidant activity of protein hydrolysate from Oreochromis sp. offal waste. This study used RAL 2 factors and each was repeated 3 times. The first factor was the concentration of bromelain enzyme used, namely control concentration, 1%, 2% and 3%. The second factor was the hydrolysis time, which was 4 hours, 6 hours and 8 hours. The data obtained were analyzed and continued with antioxidant activity test, hydrolysis degree test and protein content test. The best concentration of bromelain enzyme as antioxidant was 3% concentration for 6 hours hydrolysis with IC50 value of 82.53µg/mL, the best DH of 82.25%±4.03 and the highest protein content of 54.55%. Abstract

Siamese catfish (Pangasius hypophthalamus) is one of the most economically importantfreshwater commodities in Indonesian aquaculture. A major challenge during the growth-out phase, is the limited ability to digest plant-based diets due to high cellulose and crude fiber content, which reduce feed digestibility. Supplementation of cellulase in feed has been proposed as a strategy to improve nutrient utilization. Therefore the present study investigated the effect of dietary celulase supplementation on feed digestibility and growth performance in Seamese catfish. Juvenile catfish with an average initial length of 6cm were reared for 30 days in floating net in a cement pond. A complete reandomized design was employed with four treatments, two control, and four replciates. Treatments included cellulase derived from mivrobes sources T1 = Plant feed + WT, T2 = Plant feed + (WT + SKIK), T3 = Plant feed + Mutant, T4 = Plant feed + (mutant + SKIK). The control consisted of C1 = Commercial feed and C2 = Plant-based feed without enzyme supplementation. The results showed that C1 showed the best results for the growth of fish. However, T2, T3 and T4 showed the best results when compared to C2 and T1 which used 100% vegetable protein feed. Therefore, it can be concluded that the addition of cellulase enzymes to the feed has an effect on increasing the growth of Siamese catfish.

Abstract

Graphical Abstract Highlight Research Tuban (Indonesia) aquaculture commodities are surveyed. Aquaculture diversity in Tuban are consisted of 5 fields, namely rice field ponds, floating net cages, freshwater ponds, and brackish aquaculture ponds Aquaculture commodities in Tuban consist of 11 families and 14 species of the main aquatic production. Cyprinus carpio or common carp is one of the commodities cultivated in four different aquacultures. Abstract Fishery is a sector expected to overcome the food crisis. Indonesia is one of the leading countries in high volumes of fishery production in most of its areas, including the Regency of Tuban in East Java Province. The area of Tuban Regency is 1,839.94 km2 with the coastline covers 65 km and a sea area of 22,608 km2. This study aims to provide information regarding aquaculture production, diversity, and distribution in Tuban.  This study used a survey method in collecting fishery commodity data directly from aquaculture areas. The results of this study showed that the highest production came from the brackish water with a value of 32.46% (13,561.79 tons), followed by rice field pond (27.79% or 11,612.45 tons), freshwater pond (25.76% or 10,764.62 tons), floating net cage (13.97% or 5,836.59 tons), and marine (0.1% or 5.67 tons). Aquaculture biodiversity in Tuban consisted of 11 families and 14 species of the main aquatic produces, such as Cyprinidae (Cyprinus carpio, Barbonymus gonionotus, Parastromateus niger), Clariidae (Clarias bathracus), Pangasiidae (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus), Penaeidae (Penaeus monodon, Litopenaeus vannamei), Channidae (Channa striata), Cichlidae (Oreochromis niloticus, Oreochromis mosammbicus), Osphronemidae (Osphronemus gourami), Serranidae (Epinephelus), Lutjanidae (Lutjanus), and Chanidae (Chanos chanos). Cyprinus carpio or common carp is fish cultivated in four different aquacultures, namely rice field pond, floating net cages, freshwater ponds, and brackish aquaculture ponds. Unfortunately, the diversity and production of marine aquaculture has not been improved even though Tuban has large marine areas.

Abstract

Tilapia Lake Virus (TiLV) is a New Emerging Disease that has been defined and included in the WOAH disease list (WOAH, 2022). This virus can infect both freshwater and marine fish, causing high mortality in Ttilapia up to 90%. Reverse transcyptase method - Semi Nested Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-snPCR) for detection of TiLV in Osphronemus goramy. TiLV was discovered for the first time in Thailand and was also found in Jogjakarta in 2021. Further research is needed to see the damage and genetic variation caused by TiLV in Osphronemus goramy. This study aims to study the genetic variability and homology of TiLV isolates in Osphronemus goramy as definitive hosts in East Java. The results showed clinical symptoms of lethargic fish, decreased appetite, abnormal behavior, reduced reflexes, sluggish movements, darker body color, congestion, thinning fins and exopthalmia. The PCR results showed that the Osphronemus goramy showing clinical symptoms of TiLV infection were all positive. The sequencing results were further identified using the BLAST program, showing the highest similarity of the genetic identity of the sample at 96.8% with TiLV from Israel (Genebank Accession Number NC 029927.1).

Abstract

Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemandirian anak-anak di Panti Asuhan Ulil Abshar Dau Sengkaling Malang melalui program kegiatan mandiri dengan pendekatan pendidikan dan pembinaan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyusunan program kegiatan mandiri yang mencakup berbagai keterampilan, pelatihan, serta pembinaan secara individu dan kelompok. Hasil dari pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan pendidikan dan pembinaan telah memberikan dampak positif dalam meningkatkan kemandirian anak-anak di panti asuhan tersebut. Anak-anak berhasil mengembangkan keterampilan teknis, kewirausahaan, dan keterampilan sosial melalui program kegiatan mandiri. Selain itu, keterlibatan keluarga dalam program juga menciptakan lingkungan dukungan yang lebih luas bagi anak-anak, meningkatkan rasa percaya diri dan kemandirian mereka. Kesimpulannya, program "Peningkatan Kemandirian Anak Panti Asuhan Ulil Abshar Dau Sengkaling Malang melalui Program Kegiatan Mandiri: Pendekatan Pendidikan dan Pembinaan" berhasil memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan dalam membantu anak-anak panti asuhan untuk menjadi lebih mandiri dan siap menghadapi tantangan di masa depan. Diperlukan komitmen dan dukungan yang berkelanjutan untuk memastikan kelangsungan program ini dan manfaatnya bagi anak-anak panti asuhan.
