Abstract

Abstract. A research on the application of blended learning in the material solubility and solubility product. This study aims to determine (1) the formation of students' mental models after using blended learning, (2) the difference between the results of student learning through the implementation of blended learning and conventional learning material is applied to the solubility and solubility product of high school students of class XI Science PGRI 4 Banjarmasin, (3) students' response to the application of blended learning and conventional learning material that is applied to the solubility and solubility product of high school students of class XI Science PGRI 4 Banjarmasin. The research method used was a quasi experiment. Research sample are high school students of class XI Science PGRI 4 Banjarmasin which consists of class XI IPA 1 as the control class (n = 27) and class 2 as class XI Science experiments (n = 25). Data collection techniques and the value of using student response test and questionnaire techniques. Statistical analysis using ANOVA test path. The results showed that (1) the formation of students' mental models after using blended learning on material solubility and solubility product for the better, (2) learning outcomes between students who learn the material solubility and solubility product using high Lebing blended learning compared with students who learn the material solubility and solubility product using conventional learning, (3) blended learning received a positive response from the students of class XI Science 2 SMA PGRI 4 Banjarmasin on material solubility and solubility product.Keywords: blended learning, mental model, learning outcomes, solubility and solubility product.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to improve teacher and students activities, creative thinking ability, self efficacy, and student learning outcomes in Colloid system material using creative problem solving model. The subjects were 36 students of grade XI IPA SMA PGRI 4 Banjarmasin. This classroom action research was conducted in 2 cycles through the stages of planning, action, evaluation and observation, and reflection. The data were collected using observation instruments, creative thinking skills tests, student achievement test, and questionnaires. Analysis of the data used qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. The results of the cycle I and cycle 2 showed: (1) there was an increase in teacher and student activities from good to very good, (2) students' creative thinking ability increased from moderate to high, (3) self efficacy of students increased from moderate to high, (4) students' learning outcomes on the attitude aspects improved from good (score 71,53) to be very good (score 86.34), the skill aspects improved from good enough to good, and the percentage of students' mastery increased from 52.78% in the first cycle to 83.33% in te second cycle.                  Keywords: Creative problem solving, creative thinking ability, self efficacy, colloid system. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas guru dan aktivitas siswa, kemampuan berpikir kreatif, self efficacy, dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem Koloid menggunakan model pembelajaran creative problem solving. Subjek penelitian adalah 36 orang siswa kelas XI IPA SMA PGRI 4 Banjarmasin. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan dalam 2 siklus melalui tahap-tahap perencanaan, tindakan, evaluasi dan observasi, dan refleksi. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen observasi, tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif, tes hasil belajar, dan angket. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian siklus I dan siklus 2 menunjukkan: (1) terjadi peningkatan aktivitas guru dan aktivitas siswa dari baik menjadi sangat baik, (2) kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa meningkat dari sedang menjadi tinggi, (3) self efficacy siswa menigkat dari sedang menjadi tinggi, (4) hasil belajar siswa pada aspek sikap meningkat dari baik (skor 71,53) menjadi sangat baik (skor 86,34),  aspek keterampilan meningkat dari cukup baik menjadi baik, dan persentase ketuntasan pengetahuan siswa meningkat dari 52,78% pada siklus I menjadi 83,33% di siklus II.Kata kunci: creative problem solving, kemampuan berpikir kreatif, self efikasi, sistem koloid.

Abstract

Learning generally still takes place traditionally with teacher-centered characteristics, using an expository approach so that the teacher dominates the process of learning activities in the class-room while the students are passive. Problem solving learning model is expected to be able to solve these problems. The research method uses a quasi-experimental model (quasi-experimental) with a "non-equivalent control group design" design. The research sample was taken from SMPN 5 Banjarmasin with a total of 183 students taken randomly and divided into two classes, the con-trol class and the experimental group. The results showed that the problem-solving model was able to improve student learning outcomes at SMPN 5 Banjarmasin based on the Gain value of 0.64 which was in the medium category increase. Through data analysis that meets the prerequi-site test this model is also able to improve students' problem-solving skills with an average in-crease of 82.58 with a significance test result of 0.029 meaning that there is a significant effect on the application of the problem-solving model with high significance.Keywords: Problem solving models, problem solving skills, junior high school students.ABSTRAKPembelajaran umumnya masih berlangsung secara tradisional dengan karakteristik berpusat pada guru, menggunakan pendekatan yang bersifat ekspositori sehingga guru lebih mendominasi proses aktivitas pembelajaran di kelas. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan model pembelajaran problem solving diharapkan mampu untuk memecahkan permasalahan tersebut. Metode penelitian menggunakan model quasi experiment dengan desain non-equivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian diambil dari SMPN 5 kota Banjarmasin dengan total 183 siswa yang diambil secara acak dan dibagi menjadi dua kelas sebagai kelas kontrol dan eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukan model problem solving telah mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa SMPN 5 Banjarmasin berdasarkan nilai gain 0,64 yang berada dalam peningkatan kategori sedang. Melalui analisis data yang memenuhi uji prasyarat model ini juga mampu meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah siswa dengan peningkatan rata-rata sebesar 82,58 dengan hasil uji signifikansi sebesar 0,029 yang berarti ada pengaruh yang signifikan pada penerapan model problem solving dengan siginifikansi tinggi.Kata kunci: Problem solving, keterampilan pemecahan masalah, siswa SMP

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdiaan masyarakat ini ialah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan pengelola laboratorium dalam mengelola laboratorium IPA. Kegiatan ini melibatkan peserta yakni guru-guru mata pelajaran eksakta di SMAN 1 Amuntai. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah metode kombinasi yaitu ceramah, demonstrasi, dan sosialisasi formal dengan penyampaian materi secara teoritis (ceramah) tentang pengelolaan dan manajemen laboratorium IPA, kemudian diikuti dengan praktik lapangan di laboratorium IPA. Praktek lapangan berupa kunjungan ke laboratorium IPA untuk melakukan manajeman secara langsung dalam hal tata letak dan desain laboratorium IPA. Hasil kegiatan ini ialah peserta telah memperoleh wawasan dan pengetahuan terkait manajemen, pengelolaan dan K3 laboratorium. Artinya, kegiatan ini bisa menjadi pedoman dalam meningkatkan kualitas mutu dan pengelolaan laboratorium di sekolah.  The purpose of this community service activity is to improve the skills of laboratory managers in managing the science laboratory. This activity involved the participants, the exact subject of teachers at SMAN 1 Amuntai. The method of carrying out activities carried out is a combination method, namely lectures, demonstrations, and formal socialization with the delivery of theoretical material (lectures) about the management and management of the Natural Sciences laboratory, then followed by field practice in the Natural Sciences laboratory. Field practice in the form of a visit to the science laboratory to conduct direct management in terms of the layout and design of the science laboratory. The result of this activity is that the participants have gained insight and knowledge related to management, management, and laboratory K3. That is, this activity can be a guideline in improving the quality and management of laboratories in schools.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan evaluasi pembelajaran merupakan salah satu kompetensi profesional guru yang penting untuk mengukur kualitas hasil belajar siswa. Pada mata pelajaran kimia, evaluasi pembelajaran tersebut perlu dilakukan secara detil hingga diketahui sejauh mana pemahaman konsep yang dimiliki siswa. Salah satu instrumen evaluasi pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan adalah tes diagnostik bentuk bertingkat atau multi–tier. Beberapa penelitian di Indonesia melaporkan bahwa guru cenderung mengalami kesulitan dalam mengembangkan instrumen evaluasi yang berbasis diagnostic multi–tier. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) berikut bertujuan untuk membantu guru menjadi terampil dalam mengembangkan instrumen evaluasi diagnostik multi–tier. Peserta kegiatan adalah seluruh guru kimia dari MGMP (Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran) Kimia Kabupaten Barito Kuala, Kalimantan Selatan. Kegiatan PkM dilaksanakan sebanyak dua kali secara daring. Metode kegiatan meliputi: (1) Penyampaian materi oleh narasumber; (2) Diskusi dan tanya–jawab antara narasumber dengan peserta; (3) Penugasan kepada peserta; dan (4) Evaluasi hasil penugasan. Instrumen evaluasi diagnostik multi–tier yang telah dikembangkan oleh peserta kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat diharapkan dapat menguatkan kompetensi profesional guru Kimia Implementation of learning evaluation is one of the teacher's professional competence that is important to survey students' quality of learning outcomes. The evaluation in chemistry subject needs to be done detailly in determining how students understand the concepts. One of the learning evaluation instruments that can be used is multi-tier diagnostic. Several studies in Indonesia reported that teachers experience difficulties developing evaluation instruments based on multi-tier diagnostic. The following community service activities aimed to help teachers become skilled in developing multi-tier diagnostic evaluation instruments. Participants in the activity were all chemistry teachers from the MGMP (Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran) of Barito Kuala Regency, South Kalimantan. The activity was carried out twice online. Methods of activity included: (1) Delivering material by the speakers; (2) Discussions between speakers and participants; (3) Assigning participants; and (4) Evaluating the assignment's result. There was expected that the multi-tier diagnostic evaluation instruments developed by participants of community service could strengthen their professional competence.

Abstract

Jeruk Siam Banjar (Citrus nobilis Lour. Var. microcarpa Hassk) merupakan varietas unggul asli pulau Kalimantan. Salah satu daerah yang membudidayakan jeruk Siam Banjar adalah Desa Karang Bunga, Kecamatan Mandastana, Kabupaten Barito Kuala, Kalimantan Selatan. Salah satu produk hasil budidaya tersebut berupa penyanitasi tangan aromaterapi dari limbah kulit jeruk. Program pelatihan ini ditujukan kepada pengelola unit usaha Rumah Jeruk dalam memproduksi penyanitasi tangan aromaterapi dari ekstrak kulit jeruk Siam Banjar dan mengetahui efektivitas produk tersebut dalam membunuh kuman. Metode yang digunakan terdiri dari tiga tahap, yaitu: (1) tahap maserasi; (2) tahap pengolahan penyanitasi tangan aromaterapi; dan (3) tahap uji angka kuman produk penyanitasi tangan aromaterapi. Kegiatan tersebut menghasilkan produk penyanitasi tangan aromaterapi yang dapat diolah secara mandiri oleh pengelola unit usaha Rumah Jeruk. Produk penyanitasi tangan aromaterapi memiliki beberapa persentase efektivitas membunuh kuman, tergantung dari bahan dasar yang digunakan. Penyanitasi tangan tanpa kulit jeruk (blanko) memiliki efektivitas 33,3%. Sementara itu, penyanitasi tangan dengan ekstrak kulit jeruk kering memiliki efektivitas 69,5%, sedangkan penyanitasi tangan dengan ekstrak kulit jeruk segar memiliki efektivitas 95%. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kulit jeruk Siam Banjar dalam keadaan segar paling efektif dalam membunuh kuman. Siam Banjar Orange (Citrus nobilis Lour. Var. microcarpa Hassk) is the prime variety originally from Kalimantan island. One region that cultivates the Siam Banjar Orange is Karang Bunga Village, Mandastana, Barito Kuala, South Kalimantan Province. One cultivated product is the aromatherapy hand sanitiser from orange peel waste. The training program addressed the Rumah Jeruk business unit employees in producing aromatherapy hand sanitizer from Siam Banjar orange peel extract and finding out the effectiveness in killing germs of the product. The methods used consisted of three stages, namely: (1) maceration; (2) processing aromatherapy hand sanitizer; and (3) germ number testing of aromatherapy hand sanitiser. The activity produced aromatherapy hand sanitizer that can be processed independently by the Rumah Jeruk business unit employees. The aromatherapy hand sanitizer had several percentages of effectiveness in killing germs, depending on the basic substance used. Hand sanitizer without orange peel (blanko) has 33.3% effectiveness. Meanwhile, hand sanitizer with dried orange peel extract had an effect in killing germs by 69.5%, while hand sanitizer with fresh orange peel extract had 95% effectiveness. These results indicated that the Siam Banjar orange peel in a fresh state is the most effective in killing germs.

Abstract

Desa Tamban Muara, Kecamatan Tamban, Kabupaten Barito Kuala, Kalimantan Selatan merupakan sebuah desa yang memiliki sumber daya alam yang berlimpah berupa tanaman kelapa. Air dari buah kelapa yang ada seringkali tidak digunakan, sehingga pelaksana kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat bermaksud mengolah air kelapa tersebut menjadi Nata de Coco agar lebih bermanfaat. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah agar masyarakat Desa Tamban Muara dapat memanfaatkan dan mengolah air kelapa, serta memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang pengemasan dan pemasaran Nata de Coco hasil produksi rumah tangga. Metode kegiatan yang dilakukan berupa penyuluhan dan praktik tentang pembuatan Nata de Coco serta praktik pengemasan dan sosialisasi tentang pemasaran Nata de Coco kemasan. Peserta kegiatan adalah ibu-ibu yang tergabung dalam kelompok Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) sebagai perwakilan masyarakat Desa Tamban Muara. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan tersebut adalah peserta kegiatan mampu: (1) membuat Nata de Coco dari air kelapa yang diperoleh dari lingkungan sekitar; (2) mengemas Nata de Coco menjadi produk yang siap dijual, dan (3) memasarkan Nata de Coco untuk dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat luas. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat tersebut diharapkan dapat mendukung pemberdayaan perempuan/ibu rumah tangga dan dan meningkatkan ekomomi keluarga. Tamban Muara Village in Tamban Subdistrict, Barito Kuala Regency, South Kalimantan, is a village that has a lot of coconut trees as natural resources. The availability of coconut water is typically unused, so the community service team decided to process the coconut water into Nata de Coco to be more useful. The aims of the activities are to pursue villagers of Tamban Muara in utilizing and processing coconut water and also in getting knowledge and skills in packaging and marketing of Nata de Coco from household production. Activities method that has been done are counseling and practicing about Nata de Coco production, alongside with packaging and marketing. The participants are representative of the Empowerment of Family Welfare of Tamban Muara Village. The result of this activity are the representative can: (1) produce Nata de Coco from coconut water of village; (2) package Nata de Coco become a product that ready to sell; and (3) market Nata de Coco to be consumed by the wider community. The community service activities are expected to support the empowerment of the women/housewife and to increase family economically.

Abstract

Laboratorium sebagai sarana pembelajaran IPA memiliki fungsi sangat penting dalam menfasilitasi peserta didik membangun kompetensi ilmiah. Oleh karena itu diperlukan manajemen yang tepat oleh pengelola yang memiliki kompetensi. Kegiatan workshop ini dilakukan untuk memperkuat kompetensi guru dalam optimalisasi fungsi laboratorium IPA. Kegiatan dilakukan dalam bentuk ceramah-tanya jawab, diskusi, praktik laboratorium berbasis inquiry dan latihan implementasi manajemen laboratorium di laboratorium sekolah. Peserta kegiatan sebanyak 19 orang guru IPA SMP di Kota Banjarmasin dan Kabupaten Banjar. Kegiatan workshop ini mampu memperkuat pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru SMP dalam pengelolaan laboratorium dan keterampilan merancang dan melaksanakan praktikum berbasis guided inquiry serta kemampuan menerapkan hasil workshop di laboratorium IPA sekolah. Peserta workshop sangat antusias selama mengikuti kegiatan dan merasa sangat terbantu dalam mengatasi kendala dan permasalahan yang dialami guru-guru IPA di sekolah masing-masing. Perlu perluasan peserta workshop di berbagai daerah agar mampu meningkatkan peran laboratorium dalam mendukung tujuan pembelajaran IPA yang meliputi pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan ilmiah peserta didik.The laboratory has a very important function as a means of science learning to facilitate students to build their scientific competences. Therefore, we need proper management which is performed by the competent laboratory managers. This workshop was conducted to strengthen the teachers’ competence in optimizing the functions of a science laboratory. The workshop methods including lectures, discussions, inquiry-based laboratory practices and implementation of school’s laboratory management. The participants were 19 junior high school science teachers in Banjarmasin City and Banjar Regency. This workshop was able to strengthen teachers’ knowledge and skills in mining school’s laboratory, teachers’ skills to design and implement guided inquiry-based practicum, and teachers’ ability to apply skills in managing science laboratory. The participants appear very enthusiastic during the workshop and they felt greatly helped in overcoming many laboratory obstacles and problems. It is necessary to expand the workshop’s participants in various regions in order to increase the role of laboratories in supporting science learning objectives which include scientific knowledge, attitudes, and skills of students.

Abstract

This first phase of research and development is to produce chemistry instructional book for class X based on reduction-didactic which is feasible used in teaching and learning. The sample, three schools of 13 State Senior High Schools of Banjarmasin, are drawn using stratified random sampling. The collected research datas are analyzed descriptively based on instructional book feasibility indicators, where instructional book is considered as a feasible book for teaching and learning if both validation and student’s responses score to it in good or very good category; classically, 80% of students or more achieve mastery level of > 65. This research show that the instructional book is feasible because it’s validity is very good, student’s responses is good and classically, students’ mastery level reaches 80.2%. Futhermore, in order to increase more qualified instructional book and students’ mastery level, hence it’s need to increase the student’s self-learning; to direct students to follow the instructional book guidelines, to conduct futher field test that involve a wide range of samples and develop it as an interactive instructional book. ABSTRAK Penelitian dengan desain Research and Development tahap pertama ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan buku ajar kimia kelas X berbasis reduksi didaktik yang layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Sampel diambil secara stratified random sampling sebanyak 3 sekolah dari 13 SMA Negeri di Banjarmasin. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif berdasarkan indikator kelayakan yaitu buku ajar dianggap layak jika skor validasi maupun respon siswa terhadap buku ajar dalam kategori baik atau sangat baik dan sebanyak 80% atau lebih siswa mencapai tingkat penguasaan >65. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar layak digunakan karena validitas buku ajar dalam kategori sangat baik, respon siswa terhadap buku ajar dalam kategori baik dan ketuntasan belajar siswa secara klasikal mencapai 80,2%. Selanjutnya untuk meningkatkan kualitas buku ajar dan tingkat penguasaan siswa, guru perlu meningkatkan kemandirian belajar siswa, membimbing siswa agar mengikuti panduan penggunaan buku, melakukan ujicoba lanjut yang melibatkan sampel lebih luas dan mengembangkannya menjadi buku ajar interaktif.

Abstract

The result of observation and interview with science teacher at SMPN 23 Banjarmasin shows that students do not use any books when learning at class. The learning progress run by teacher centered while the students just listening and take a notes from teacher explanation. Students also never doing experimental learning in laboratory or in the field. The aim of this research is to describe about valitidy, practicality, and effectivity of the integrated natural science module with local content in wetland environment as media development for science learning. Population of this research is 8th grades students of SMPN 23 Banjarmasin. The method of this research is Research and Development (RnD) method using development design plot by Tessmer. The research indicates that the integrated science module has 81.25 value of validity which is shows the module are valid to use for learning media. The practicality of the module is 91.75 which indicates the module are easy to use bothly the teacher and student. The effectivity of the module calculated with N-gain which get value 0.71, it means the module are effective as learning media to reach learning purposes. The module also gain value 59.41 of science process skills indicates the module can help students to learn about science process skills.
