Abstract

Background: Early childhood is a critical period for language and communication development. Deaf children often face significant challenges in acquiring articulation skills due to hearing impairments, which impact their ability to communicate effectively. Despite various interventions, there remains a need for effective, evidence-based strategies to support these skills.Aim: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of picture media in improving articulation skills in children with hearing impairments. By focusing on articulation rather than broader language skills, this research addresses a gap in existing literature.Method: A qualitative approach was employed, involving observations, interviews, and documentation to collect data over six months. The study analyzed changes in articulation skills in a deaf child before and after interventions using picture media. Instruments included standardized articulation tests and feedback from parents and teachers.Result: Findings reveal that picture media significantly enhance articulation skills, enabling children to associate sounds with visual cues effectively. Specific improvements were observed in the pronunciation of vowels and consonants, with gradual progress in constructing syllables and words. Unlike prior studies that primarily explore vocabulary development or general communication in deaf children, this research uniquely focuses on the direct impact of picture media on articulation skills. The study offers evidence-based insights for developing targeted educational interventions for children with hearing impairments. Conclusion: This study confirms the importance of using visual media, especially pictures, in the learning of children with hearing loss. This approach is not only effective in improving articulation skills but also supports children's optimal communication potential. Thus, picture media can be an important tool in inclusive education for deaf children.

Abstract

Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) often experience difficulties in maintaining attention and focus during learning activities. The advancement of technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), has opened new opportunities to support more adaptive and individualized educational interventions for children with ADHD. This article aims to review recent studies on the utilization of AI-based applications to improve learning focus among children with ADHD. The method employed is a literature review by examining scientific articles obtained from several online databases, including Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and ERIC, within the publication range of 2018 to 2024. Inclusion criteria consist of peer-reviewed articles in English or Indonesian that specifically discuss the use of AI applications to enhance attention in children with ADHD. The findings reveal that AI-powered applications, such as adaptive educational games, digital therapies, and cognitive training systems, hold great potential in improving focus and reducing symptoms of inattention and impulsivity. However, certain limitations, such as technological accessibility, device dependency, and data privacy issues, remain challenges that must be addressed. This review concludes that the integration of AI technology into the learning process of children with ADHD is a promising strategic approach, yet it requires ethical, inclusive, and evidence-based implementation.

Abstract

The increase in acts of violence and crime in society, one of the influencing factors is a moral crisis or weak character strengthening. A child's golden age is the time when a child's behavior is formed. Children are more likely to follow what they see compared to what they hear. This means that children tend to imitate and not just follow orders. If parents show exemplary behavior, in the form of honesty, trustworthiness, noble character, courage and staying away from actions that are contrary to religion. This research aims to obtain an overview of the impact of the absence of role models on parents which will result in children easily imitating deviant behavior which then forms behavior that becomes character. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques use interview, observation and documentation techniques. The data collected was analyzed through a reduction process, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that the formation of bad behavior in early childhood has an effect on the subsequent growth period so that later it can turn into someone who experiences a moral crisis. The increasing moral crisis or moral degradation in society will result in an increase in crime, so the role of parents is very important in creating quality human resources. Abstract

The purpose of this article is to comprehensively examine the integration of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and digital technology within the context of 21st-century inclusive education through a narrative literature review. This study employs a narrative literature review method with a qualitative and exploratory approach. The data sources consist of 15 international journal articles published between 2023 and 2025. The research instrument is a manually developed data extraction sheet used to gather information from each article. Data analysis utilizes qualitative thematic analysis with a deductive approach, referencing the UDL theoretical framework. The results of this study: (1) Teachers' knowledge and attitudes towards inclusion remain limited and inconsistent; (2) Structural and policy limitations hinder the implementation of inclusive education; (3) The role of digital technology in supporting the application of UDL to create flexible and adaptive learning; and (4) Issues of access and social justice in higher education, particularly for vulnerable groups such as refugees and individuals with disabilities. This study implies that 21st-century inclusive education cannot be separated from digital transformation and flexible learning design paradigms such as UDL. Technology is positioned not just as an assistive tool but as a structural foundation for designing learning that is responsive to diversity. Approaches based on quality of life, cultural intelligence, and recognition of the socio-political context of learners are key elements in the development of a substantively inclusive educational system.
