Abstract

The community service activity was carried out to assist SMPS Waladun Sholeh in conducting an inspection of school building conditions, specifically regarding structural, architectural, and utility elements, which have posed challenges due to limited technical expertise within the school. The inspection plays an important role since school buildings are fundamental to maintaining the continuity of the teaching–learning process. The method employed was on-site inspection, including visual observation, measurements, inventorying building elements, and quantitative analysis of damage levels. In addition, interviews were conducted with school representatives to obtain supporting information regarding the history of damage and maintenance. The activity stages included: (a) initial coordination and collection of basic building data; (b) field inspection of structural, architectural, and utility components; (c) analysis of damage levels and determination of the building condition category; and (d) dissemination of inspection results and proposed follow-up plans to the school. The results indicate that most building components remain in good condition, with minor damage predominating and accounting for 13.40% of the total elements inspected. However, an uneven settlement of the foundation was detected, causing cracks and deformations in several parts of the building.

Abstract

Ketimpangan distribusi pelayanan kesehatan di Jawa Timur menjadi salah satu tantangan dalam upaya pemerataan akses dan kualitas layanan kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menggunakan pendekatan Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) untuk menentukan kualitas pelayanan kesehatan di 38 kabupaten dan kota di Jawa Timur. Variabel data yang digunakan meliputi kepadatan penduduk, tenaga kesehatan, dan fasilitas kesehatan di tahun 2024. Sebelum proses klasterisasi, dilakukan analisis korelasi untuk menyederhanakan variabel melalui penggabungan kelompok variabel yang saling berkorelasi tinggi. Hasil klasterisasi FCM menunjukkan bahwa wilayah di Jawa Timur terbagi menjadi tiga klaster, yaitu klaster dengan kualitas pelayanan sangat memadai, cukup memadai, dan kurang memadai. Nilai 0,725 diperoleh melalui evaluasi menggunakan Silhouette Coefficient, yang menunjukkan bahwa struktur klaster yang dihasilkan memiliki kualitas yang tergolong baik. Hasil pemetaan menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar wilayah berada dalam kategori cukup memadai, namun masih terdapat beberapa wilayah yang memerlukan perhatian lebih dalam pemerataan tenaga dan fasilitas kesehatan. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi dasar pertimbangan kebijakan pemerataan pelayanan kesehatan di Jawa Timur melalui program Jatim Sehat.

Abstract

The development of buildings in urban areas has the potential to increase trip generation and attraction, which in turn affects the performance of the surrounding road network. This condition needs to be examined, particularly in areas with relatively high traffic growth, such as Jl. Ir. PH. Moch. Noor, Murung Pudak District, Tabalong Regency. This study aims to evaluate existing traffic conditions and road performance, and subsequently compare them with the performance of the road network after the building becomes operational. The methods employed include traffic volume surveys on four road segments surrounding the development site, road capacity analysis based on the Indonesian Highway Capacity Guidelines (PKJI) 2023, and traffic projection modeling using trip generation (ITE), trip distribution (Furness method), and traffic assignment with the CONTRAM software. The results indicate that under existing conditions, road performance ranges from Level of Service (LOS) A to C. However, in the five-year post-operation projection, several road segments experience an increase in the degree of saturation, reaching LOS D, particularly on segments with the highest traffic volumes. The newly generated and attracted trips, combined with overall traffic growth, have the potential to degrade road performance if not accompanied by adequate traffic management and access control measures implemented by the facility operator to maintain the performance of the road network.

Abstract

Improving the thermal efficiency of biomass cookstoves remains essential for enhancing energy utilization and reducing fuel consumption in household applications. This study investigates the effect of geometric size reduction on the thermal performance of a galvanized steel biomass stove equipped with a 12 V DC blower. The original biomass stove constructed from galvanized steel plates with dimensions of 50 × 50 × 55 cm³ equipped with a 12 V DC blower was developed in 2022. Due to its relatively large size, the air–fuel mixture delivered to the combustion chamber was not fully optimized, resulting in a thermal efficiency of only 10%. To address this limitation, the stove dimensions were reduced to 40 × 40 × 40 cm³. The performance evaluation was conducted using the Water Boiling Test (WBT) method with two water volumes (2 L and 5 L) and three fuel masses (40%, 60%, and 80%). The results indicate that reducing the stove dimensions contributes to a significant improvement in thermal efficiency, reaching up to 14.6%.

Abstract

This study examines changes in the behavior of mutual cooperation of junior high school students in the context of modern society characterized by the intensification of the use of digital media and shifts in social interaction patterns. The purpose of the study is to identify the form of change in mutual cooperation behavior, the factors that affect it, and its implications on the quality of adolescent social relations. The research uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interview techniques and observation of students as the main informants, as well as educators as key informants. Data analysis was carried out thematically to capture the dynamics of social meaning that developed in the school environment. The results of the study show that there is a transformation of mutual cooperation behavior from a direct pattern of collective participation to a more individualistic and digital-based form of social engagement. Students tend to build relationships through social media, which on the one hand expands the network of friends, but on the other hand reduces the intensity of face-to-face togetherness and weakens the practice of spontaneous mutual cooperation in the school environment. The findings also show a decrease in social sensitivity and empathy in collective activities, as the orientation to virtual interactions increases. In addition, this change is influenced by the factors of gadget usage habits, peer communication patterns, and the lack of social space that encourages direct cooperation.Sociologically, this condition reflects the process of social modernization that shifts the value of togetherness towards a more pragmatic and instrumental orientation of relationships. This study emphasizes the importance of the role of the educational and family environment in revitalizing the value of mutual cooperation through strengthening collaborative activities and habituating offline social interactions. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for consideration for educators and policymakers in designing social education strategies that are adaptive to the challenges of modern society.Keywords: mutual cooperation, junior high school students, social interaction, modern society, behavior change

Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to analyze and compare theoretical and actual power transfer in a coconut squeezer machine to determine the efficiency of the transmission system used. This coconut squeezer machine is designed using a 220 V electric motor with a rotational speed of 4500 rpm connected to a transmission system consisting of a pulley, a V-belt (type M33), and a gearbox with a reduction ratio of 1:30. This power transmission process results in a reduction in rotational speed from the motor to the screw press shaft, which functions to squeeze the coconuts into coconut milk. The research method used was theoretical computation based on the mechanical parameters of the transmission components and comparative analysis with actual test results. The calculation data included theoretical motor power, output power at the screw press shaft, torque, and transmission system efficiency. The calculation results showed that the theoretical motor power was 280 Watts, while the actual power at the screw press shaft was 239.4 Watts. A power loss of 40.6 watts, or approximately 14.5%, occurred due to V-belt inaccuracy, slippage, and mechanical losses in the gearbox. The total efficiency of the transmission system was 85.5%, indicating adequate mechanical performance. Based on the analysis, this coconut press machine is capable of operating well and stably for both household and industrial applications. Mesin pemeras kelapa ini dirancang menggunakan motor listrik bertenaga 220 V dengan kecepatan putar 4500 rpm yang dihubungkan ke sistem transmisi berupa pulley, sabuk-V (V-belt tipe M33), dan gearbox dengan rasio reduksi 1:30. Proses transmisi daya ini menghasilkan penurunan putaran dari motor menuju poros ulir press yang berfungsi untuk memeras kelapa menjadi santan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah komputasi teoritis berdasarkan parameter mekanik komponen transmisi serta analisis perbandingan dengan hasil pengujian aktual. Data perhitungan meliputi daya teoritis motor, daya keluaran pada poros ulir press, torsi, dan efisiensi sistem transmisi. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa daya teoritis motor sebesar 280 Watt, sedangkan daya aktual pada poros ulir press sebesar 239,4 Watt. terjadi kehilangan daya sebesar 40,6 Watt atau sekitar 14,5% akibat akurasi pada V-belt, slip, serta rugi mekanis pada gearbox. Efisiensi total sistem transmisi diperoleh sebesar 85,5%, yang menunjukkan bahwa sistem mekanik bekerja cukup Berdasarkan hasil analisa, mesin pemeras kelapa ini mampu bekerja dengan baik dan stabil untuk skala rumah tangga maupun industri. Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of integral education at Al Wildan Islamic Boarding School 13 Tambelang, focusing on its role in shaping an Islamic generation with high academic and moral achievements. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation from school stakeholders, including teachers, students, and parents. The findings reveal that the integral education model successfully integrates Islamic values with modern academic competencies, highlighted by programs such as Tahfizhul Qur’an, leadership training, and extracurricular activities. However, challenges such as balancing academic and religious commitments, student motivation, and parental awareness were identified. The study concludes that the holistic approach of Al Wildan supports the development of students who are both spiritually grounded and academically capable, providing a valuable reference for Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi kecerdasan buatan (AI) telah mendorong peningkatan signifikan dalam interaksi antara manusia dan mesin, khususnya dalam menyediakan akses komunikasi yang lebih baik bagi individu dengan gangguan bicara. Penelitian ini mengusulkan sebuah sistem penerjemah Bahasa Isyarat Indonesia (BISINDO) berbasis computer vision yang mengintegrasikan deteksi landmark tangan secara real-time menggunakan MediaPipe dengan proses klasifikasi gestur berbasis Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). Sistem ini dirancang untuk mengenali pola gerakan tangan secara dinamis dan mengubahnya menjadi teks atau suara sintetis melalui modul Google Text-to-Speech (gTTS). Pendekatan yang digunakan menggabungkan analisis spasial dan temporal untuk menghasilkan interpretasi gestur yang akurat dan responsif terhadap konteks. Penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi tantangan implementasi terkait kemampuan generalisasi model terhadap perbedaan pengguna, kondisi pencahayaan, dan lingkungan, serta menawarkan solusi melalui teknik augmentasi data dan optimalisasi arsitektur jaringan saraf. Dengan desain yang fleksibel dan adaptif, sistem ini memiliki potensi besar untuk menjadi dasar pengembangan teknologi bantuan komunikasi inklusif berbasis AI di Indonesia serta mendorong kolaborasi antara bidang visi komputer, bahasa isyarat, dan teknologi Internet of Things (IoT).   Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) technology have driven significant improvements in human–machine interaction, particularly in enhancing communication accessibility for individuals with speech impairments. This study proposes an Indonesian Sign Language (BISINDO) interpreter system based on computer vision, integrating real-time hand landmark detection using the MediaPipe framework with gesture classification powered by a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The system is designed to dynamically recognize hand gesture patterns and convert them into text or synthetic speech through the Google Text-to-Speech (gTTS) module. This approach combines spatial and temporal analysis to produce accurate and contextually responsive gesture interpretations. The study also identifies implementation challenges related to the model’s generalizability across different users, lighting conditions, and environments, while offering solutions through data augmentation techniques and neural network architecture optimization. With its flexible and adaptive design, the proposed system has strong potential to serve as a foundation for the development of AI-based inclusive communication technologies in Indonesia and to foster collaboration across the fields of computer vision, sign language, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
