Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out i) the quality of the accountability management system of superior schools, ii) elementary school digital transformation capabilities, and iii) the relationship between the quality of the accountability management system for superior schools and the digital transformation capabilities of elementary schools in Indonesia. The research approach used is quantitative. The research location is in public elementary schools in Malang City. The population of this research is all 195 public elementary schools. The research sample is 22 public elementary schools. The research subjects were school principals, class teachers, and subject teachers totaling 51 people. Data collection is done by using a questionnaire. Elementary schools with superior school accountability management systems have the ability to drive their digital transformation capabilities. Excellent school accountability management systems and school digital transformation capabilities guarantee equal access to education for all students. Implications for improving teaching and learning are also discussed in this paper. The variables studied can be used to determine the priority scale for planning, implementing and evaluating superior school accountability management systems in digital transformation, in increasing teacher competency.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the obstacles in implementing an accountability management system in state elementary schools, in the aspects of the curriculum, human resources, educational facilities, school management, students, financing, school environment, and obstacles related to parents. The approach of this research is qualitative research. The location of the research is public elementary schools in Malang City, East Java Province, Indonesia. Purposively, the research sample was determined based on schools that had implemented the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS), totaling 22 state elementary schools. Sources of research data are school principals, teachers, and education staff. The data collection involved interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis. The qualitative data collected were process to ensure reliability and validity. Thematic analysis was used to identify patterns, recurring themes, and variations in participant responses. The research results show various domains that hinder the successful integration of accountability management systems. These obstacles can be categorized into curriculum, human resources, educational facilities, school management, students, financing, school environment, and barriers related to parents

Abstract

The rapid advancement of science and technology (Iptek) in the digital era requires educational institutions to focus not only on academic achievement but also on strengthening students’ faith and piety (Imtaq). However, previous studies have predominantly emphasized cognitive development without systematically integrating spiritual dimensions into educational programs. This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of the Islamic Boarding School (IBS) program as an effort to enhance Imtaq and Iptek in developing students’ spiritual potential at MTs Negeri 1 Kebumen. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings reveal that the IBS program is implemented through curriculum integration combining Islamic and digital literacy values, habitual religious activities, and additional services that support spiritual and intellectual formation. Teachers and IBS supervisors play crucial roles not only as educators but also as character facilitators and coordinators of religious activities. Supporting factors include parental involvement, a conducive school environment, and adequate facilities, while inhibiting factors stem from gadget use, student fatigue, and peer influence. This study concludes that the IBS program significantly contributes to balancing Imtaq and Iptek development and enriches the model of spiritual-integrated education in Islamic schools. Theoretically, the study reinforces the concept of holistic pesantren-based education that remains relevant in the digital context
