Abstract

Bakri et al, 2019. Characteristics of Soil Physical Properties and Water Management Network Systems In Bandar Jaya Village, Primer 25 Air Sugihan. pp. 138-145.The development of the potential of tidal land for annual crops, especially rice plants, is very needed information on the physical properties of the soil and the systems of water management. There are two conditions in Bandar Jaya Village, namely the use of tidal water in the dry season and water discharge during the rainy season. The objective of this research was to determine characteristics of soil physical properties and water management network systems.  The condition is intended to not lack water in the dry season and there will be no flooding in the rainy season. Soil sampling activity was carried out intentionally on the fourth tertiary plot of Primer 25 Air Sugihan in Bandar Jaya Village. The physical condition of the soil at a depth of 0 - 30 cm BD is low (0.67 g / cm3), the Total Pore is high (77%), while in the depth of the soil 30 - 60 cm BD 0.74 g/cm3, and Total Pore 73 %. At soil depth> 60 cm BD 0.98 g / cm3 and Total Pore  64%. Dusty clay texture. This soil condition can support plant growth and production. Water management network is built with a pair comb system, tertiary canals have been equipped with sluice gates and modified goose neck sluice, so that water management can be carried out to support cropping indices.

Abstract

Bakri B, Prayitno MH, Dirgantara AN. 2022. Soil Organic matter distribution in rice fields with rice - rice and rice - palawija crop rotation at subdistrict Pagar Alam Selatan, Pagar Alam City. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 143-152. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The aimed of the study was to compare the levels of soil organic matter in cultivated paddy fields with rice-paddy and rice-palawija cropping patterns in Pagar Alam Selatan District, Pagar Alam City. This research was conducted in Pagar Alam Selatan District, Pagar Alam City and soil analysis was carried out at the Laboratory of Chemistry, Biology and Soil Fertility, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. Sampling was carried out using a grid survey method with a detailed survey level to compare between treatments using the T test. The parameter measured was C-organic analyzed by the Walkey and Black method. The results showed that the levels of organic matter in the two paddy fields in Pagar Alam Selatan District, Pagar Alam City were very high with the average soil organic matter content in paddy fields with a rice-paddy cropping pattern of 11.96% and an average organic matter content of 11.96%. soil in paddy fields with rice-crop crops pattern is 9.96%. The organic matter content of paddy fields with rice-paddy cropping patterns was significantly different from that of paddy-palawija cropping patterns.

Abstract

Ulama DA, Bakri B. 2022. Evaluation of distribution oil palm roots (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) with different groundwater levels. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds), Prosding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 682-694. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).This research aimed to influence about groundwater levels and some soil physical properties on the distribution of palm oil roots. This research uses the observation method, then the data that has been obtained is presented in the form of tables and figures. To determine the effect of swamp distance and groundwater level depth on the distribution of oil palm roots, a T-test was carried out with a real level of 5%. In addition, Pearson (r) correlation and linear regression between the values of soil physical properties and the distribution of oil palm roots per soil depth were carried out. The results showed that the groundwater level did not have a significant effect on the value of oil palm root distribution. The physical properties of the soil in the form of color, moisture content, and total pore space have a positive correlation with the distribution value of the oil palm roots. But the value of bulk density has a negative correlation with the value of the distribution of oil palm roots. In this study, it was also found that texture has a positive influence on the distribution value of oil palm roots at 30 cm deep but has a negative influence on the distribution value of oil palm roots at depths of 60cm and 90 cm. So, the level of groundwater does not have a significant effect on the distribution of oil palm roots. However, the physical properties of soils have diverse correlations.

Abstract

Bakri, B., Siagian, P. E. 2023. Analysis of distribution of oil palm plant roots (Elaeis guinneensis Jacq.) at different distances depths and soil N, P, K content. In: Herlinda S. et al. (Eds), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp.172-184). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI)The roots of the oil palm plant grow from the base of the stem and spread to the sides and consist of primary, secondary, tertiary, and quarter roots. NPK is a macro nutrient needed by oil palm plants to grow and produce good production. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of soil NPK nutrients on the distribution patterns of oil palm roots, both primary, secondary and tertiary roots at different soil spacings and depths. This study used a survey method by observing. The data obtained are in the form of distribution of roots, N-Total, Available P, and Potassium which are presented in the form of tables and figures and are discussed in a descriptive way. To determine the relationship between roots and NPK, Pearson Correlation (r) and linear regression tests were carried out. The results showed that the distribution of primary, secondary, and tertiary roots of oil palm plants was higher at a distance of 100 cm and a depth of 0-30 cm and 31-60 cm. the total distribution of primary, secondary, and tertiary roots in plants 1, 2, and 3 based on distance and depth, the highest root distribution was obtained, namely in plant 3 with a depth of 0-30 cm and a distance of 100 cm, namely 7.839 g/dm3. Soil chemical properties in the form of nutrients N and P have a positive correlation with the distribution of oil palm roots.
