Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (K3) is very important to note for all workers and company owners. Occupational Safety and Health (K3) is a system created for workers and business owners to prevent work accidents and occupational diseases (PAK). This type of research is an observational descriptive which aims to determine the relationship between tenure and level of knowledge regarding the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The research design used was cross-sectional. Based on data analysis, the relationship between knowledge and years of service with adherence to the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in PT. X workers is very influential. many respondents from PT.X workers are reluctant to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) because there are several factors, namely lack of knowledge, lack of years of service and other factors. For PT.X workers who have not used personal protective equipment (PPE) it is expected to be more raise awareness about the importance of using personal protective equipment (PPE) so as to avoid work accidents or occupational diseases (PAK).

Abstract

Fire is an oxidation event involving fuel, oxygen, and energy sources that can cause property. The requirements and implementation of this method using scientific methods such as inspection sheets as a tool to help solve the analysis. The results of the study from a total of 49 APAR were examined. From the results of the inspection that has been carried out, it was found that the indicator of the need for APAR in each room is an excess number of APAR, this is not a problem, the condition of the APAR has been appropriate but there are some that are not appropriate, the maintenance of APAR is only a few APAR that are checked routinely. In conclusion, although the number and type of APAR in each room are adequate, suggestions are needed to improve APAR, installation signs, placement of APAR, and maintenance of APAR to ensure safety.

Abstract

Introduction: Water was a part of the environment that was very susceptible to contamination by various hazardous substances, both physical, chemical, and microbiological. Serious health problems might occur when humans consume contaminated drinking water and can cause infectious and non-infectious diseases. This study aimed to analyze the risk quotient of chemical hazard exposure in drinking water by depot refilling drinking water from 25 cities and regencies in East Java Province. Methods: This study was analytically observational with a cross-sectional research design. The sampling method used was porposive sampling, which took 25 from 38 cities and regencies in East Java province. There were three steps to analyze drinking water health risks: dose-response analysis, exposure path, and risk characteristics analyzed. Results and Discussion: The highest concentrations of each parameter parameter F (1.4132 mg/L), NO_3 (56.2780 mg/L), NO_2 (22,225 mg/L), Fe (0.3845 mg/L), Mg (4.54 mg/L), and Zn (0.4272 mg/L). Analysis of risk quotient > 1 for parameters NO_3 (1.2265), NO_2 (7,748), and Mg (1.1308) Indicates that drinking water in the area is not safe for consumption by people weighing 55kg as much as 2L/day for 350 days. Conclusion: Based on the results of studies conducted on those substances (F, NO_3, NO_2, Fe, Mg, and Zn) there are three substances in the water that have RQ value > 1, NO_3 (1.2265), NO_2 (7,748), and Mg (1.1308) this means that those substances are risking human health and needed to be addressed controlled.

Abstract

Background: Welders and grinding work at PT. X is carried out manually with non-ergonomic working postures, such as bending or prolonged standing. This study aims to describe work-related musculoskeletal disorder (MSDs) complaints based on individual characteristics (age, gender) and job-related factors (length of employment, daily working hours, and type of work). Methods: The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, involving 47 respondents using a total population sampling technique. Data were collected using a musculoskeletal complaint survey instrument based on the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 9011:2021. Results: The results showed that the majority of respondents were male (93%), aged 25-34 years (42%), and had 1-5 years of work experience (70%). The most reported MSDs complaints were in the lower back (36%), upper back (55%), and neck (23%). Conclusion: Based on the descriptive analysis, both individual and occupational factors contributed to MSDs complaints, particularly in body parts affected by non-ergonomic working postures. Recommended interventions include proper posture training, provision of ergonomic aids to reduce physical load, and regular health check-ups to decrease the prevalence of MSDs among workers.

Abstract

In the midst of rapid industrial development, small and medium enterprises such as welding factories play an important role in improving the welfare of the community. Jagiru Wonokuromo No. 326, Jagiru, stingy. Workplace Safety Factory workers are often at risk of accidents due to the use of heavy equipment and welding. Promoting workplace safety practices reduces accidents and helps workers understand the importance of self-protection. This improves the functionality and quality of the product. Jagir Jaya's interaction in the welding workplace is expected to have a positive impact on maintaining occupational safety and health, increasing awareness, and preventing accidents that can threaten worker safety. Socialization in the welding workplace has a significant impact on maintaining worker safety and health. Therefore, increasing safety awareness in the target area will help workers understand the risks associated with the welding process such as fire hazards, smoke, and heavy equipment. With a better understanding, workers tend to be more careful and pay more attention to safety procedures. Emergency training is also conducted during placement to train employees in responding to emergencies such as fires and accidents. Knowledge of evacuation procedures and the use of fire extinguishers can save lives.

Abstract

Socialization of occupational safety and health (OSH) is an important effort to raise community awareness about the importance of implementing OSH principles in the workplace, especially in villages with a high potential for accidents and work-related illnesses. This article examines the implementation of an OSH socialization program in Kemiri Village, aimed at fostering a strong OSH culture and creating an OSH-conscious village. The methods used in this study include observation, interviews, and the distribution of questionnaires to village residents. The research results indicate that the community's understanding of OSH remains low, with numerous cases of workplace accidents occurring due to a lack of knowledge and awareness of safety importance. The socialization program involved training, seminars, and outreach activities that engaged all community members. As a result of the socialization efforts, there was a significant increase in the community's knowledge and awareness of OSH. The community became more proactive in implementing preventive measures, leading to a reduction in workplace accident rates in the village. These findings suggest that effective OSH socialization efforts can create a safer and healthier working environment and encourage the establishment of an OSH-conscious village.
