Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Although TB is a curable disease, it continues tobe one of the most important infectious causes of death worldwide. Indonesia ranks 3rd on the list of TB highburden countries in the world with 86,000 cases deaths and the Multi Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR TB)estimated cases in Indonesia is 10,000. This research was aimed to isolate and characterize of soft coralSinularia sp.-associated bacteria having antibacterial activity against Tuberculosis bacteria. There were109 isolates collected from Sinularia sp. Two isolates from Sinularia sp.-associated bacteria, SC4TGZ3 andSC4TGZ4 were successfully screened for antibacterial against Tuberculosis bacteria. SC4TGZ3 was found toinhibit the growth of MDR TB strain HE, MDR TB strain SR and H37Rv. Whereas, SC4TGZ4 was found toinhibit the growth of MDR TB strain HE. Based on PCR amplification 16S rDNA softcoral bacateria wereidentified as follows: SC4TGZ3 was closely related to Pseudovibrio sp. and SC4TGZ4 was closely related toAlpha proteobacterium sp.

Abstract

Carotenoids are pigments that can be used in various applications including cosmetics and precursor ofvitamins A. Carotenoids are mostly found in higher plant leaves, fruit, and bacteria. Marine bacteriaassociated with seagrass Thalassia hemprichii collected from Menjangan Kecil Waters, KarimunjawaIslands were screened to produce the pigment and has allowed the use of these microrganism as anenvironmental friendly alternative source of new natural pigment. The isolation of bacterial symbionts onZobell 2216E medium from seagrass Thalassia hemprichii resulted in 20 isolates of which 8 bacterialsymbionts have produced pigments but only one bacterium positively synthesize carotenoids. Initial analysiswith atomic absorption spectrophotometric method revealed that the wave lengt of bacterial pigment were inthe range of 300-600 nm, which are categorized that within the group of carotenoid pigments. From theresults of molecular identification by 16S rDNA method, it was shown that bacterium TH8 was closelyrelated to Bacillus licheniformis with 98% homology value.

Abstract

Kata kunci: Kolaborasi, Kesehatan reproduksi, Calon Pengantin.ABSTRACTThe number of marriages in the Grobogan Regency in 2018 was 13,915 pairs, but only 12% (1680 pairs) attended the bride and groom courses, so 88% (12,235 pairs) did not get a bride-to-be course. The purpose of the study was to analyze collaboration in the bride-to-be course in the Regency Grobogan The study uses qualitative observational in-depth interviews and observations by purposive sampling, namely Puskesmas that already have an MOU with KUA. Main informants were 5 Puskesmas Coordinating Midwives and triangulation informants 4 KUA Heads, 1 Head of the Health and Mother Section of the Health Office, and 1 Head of the Islamic Community Guidance Section of the Ministry of Religion Office, and analyzed with content analysis. The results showed that the implementation of independent guidance was carried out according to the Puskesmas schedule and face-to-face guidance was carried out by one batch each year, due to budget constraints and the number of prospective brides participating in the guidance had been determined by the center so that not all prospective brides could follow face-to-face guidance, this matter less supported too, many brides cannot attend, because the activities coincide with working hours or one of their partners lives in a different area, while the obstacle of independent guidance is that not all brides to the Puskesmas will get reproductive health IEC, IEC of reproductive health is only given to the bride and groom who have risks or are underage only, due to lack of health workers caused by many tasks other than the bride and groom’s health services. This collaboration has an MOU and a lack of coordination of the division of reporting responsibilities. Research recommendations are adding health workers and budget, coordinating reporting, and adding guidance on implementing the schedule so that all brides-to-be receive reproductive health IEC.Keywords: Collaboration, Reproduction health, Prospective bride.

Abstract

Tetanus Toxoid (TT) immunization for pregnant women is a crucial public health issue. This study aimed to identify the predisposing and reinforcing factors and their association with the completion of TT immunization for pregnant women. This mixed-method research included 50 pregnant women in their 2nd and 3rd trimesters who attend the Posyandu and three mother-and-child health (MHC) workers in Getasan Public Health Center. The predisposing factors include knowledge and attitude of the pregnant women and reinforcing spouse support and perception toward health workers. The result shows a significant correlation among predisposing and reinforcing factors with the completion of TT immunization. On the other hand, the MHC workers indicate loss of follow-up and maladministration, which further act on TT immunization among pregnant mothers. We suggest MHC workers strengthen the administration and education among pregnant women

Abstract

One of the causes of a high maternal mortality rate is the low knowledge of women's reproductive health, especially about the prevention of pregnancy risks. This can be overcome by increasing the knowledge of prospective brides, one of them is by providing health education with booklet media. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of booklets on the knowledge and attitudes of reproductive health of brides related to the prevention of the pregnancy risks.       This type of research is quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group design. The study population was the future brides who attended the course of Future Bride and Groom at the Religious Affairs Office in Pemalang Regency. The samples were 50 brides for the intervention group and 50 brides for the control group. The instruments were questionnaires and booklets. An intervention group and a control group were compared based on the result of pre and post intervention. Statistical analysis used t-test and mann whitney test.       The results showed that there is a differentiation in reproductive health knowledge after intervention between intervention group and control group (p = 0,000 <0,05) and there is a differentiation in reproductive health attitudes after intervention between intervention group and control group (p = 0,008 <0,05). The knowledge average of future brides increased by 4.28 points and the attitude average increased by 1.84 points after intervention.       It can be concluded that the booklet can be used to increase the reproductive health knowledge and attitudes of future brides in prevention of pregnancy risks, especially in the case of anemia causing bleeding, chronic energy deficiency, and puerperal danger signs. It is recommended that the booklet can be developed as a media for reproductive health education in the course of Bride and Groom at the Religious Affairs Office.Key Words: Reproductive health; Knowledge; Attitudes; Booklet; Brides

AbstrakBerdasarkan SDKI survei terakhir tahun 2007 AKI Indonesia sebesar 228 per 100.000 Kelahiran Hidup. AbstractBased on the last SDKI survey in 2007, Indonesian maternal mortality rate (AKI) was 228/100000 live-births. One of causes of maternal death was anemia. To solve iron deficiency anemia problems on pregnant women, Indonesian Ministry of Health had implemented iron tablet distribution program to pregnant women in all puskesmas (primary healthcare center) and posyandu (integrated health services post) since 1970. In reality, that program was difficult to implement; it was shown by the fact that coverage of iron tablet distribution in Kendal was only 53.2%. Results of preliminary survey showed that no monitoring program was performed during the last year, no standard operating procedure was formulated, and funding provided for the program was insufficient; the available funding was only 40%. Objective of this study was to analyze the implementation of iron tablet supplementation program for pregnant women in the work area of Kendal district health office. This was a descriptive-explorative study with qualitative method, and using content analysis method. Main informants were 4 nutritional staffs in puskesmas. Triangulation informants were 4 heads of puskesmas, 2 policy makers from Semarang city health office, and 4 pregnant women. Results of the study showed that implementation of iron tablet supplementation for pregnant women in the puskesmas with high and low iron tablet coverage indicated no significant difference. For the continuity of the program and to attain the objective, discussions on the problems are needed; then decisions are legitimated by issuing decrees and conducting socialization.
