Abstract

This study investigates the critical thinking profiles of junior high school students based on their cognitive styles, Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD), within the context of solving contextual geometry problems. Critical thinking is an essential component of 21st-century mathematics learning, yet national and international assessments indicate that Indonesian students still struggle to demonstrate higher-order reasoning, particularly in geometry. To explore how cognitive style shapes students’ thinking processes, this study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving four eighth-grade students selected purposively, consisting of two FI and two FD students determined using the GEFT. Data were collected through contextual geometry tests, task-based interviews, documentation, and field notes. The data were analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña’s interactive model with support from NVivo for qualitative coding. Findings show that FI students produced higher and more consistent coding frequencies on the indicators of interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and explanation, and displayed more structured reasoning. In contrast, FD students demonstrated limited elaboration, intuitive responses, and lower coding frequencies. These results confirm that cognitive style significantly influences the depth of critical thinking. The study implies the need for differentiated mathematics instruction that accommodates students’ cognitive profiles to enhance critical thinking in geometry learning.

Abstract

Algebraic thinking ability is the ability to connect algebraic concepts with various problems, both in academic contexts and in everyday life. The purpose of this study was to describe junior high school students’ algebraic thinking ability in solving mathematics problems based on ethnomathematics. The study was conducted at a private junior high school in the city of Semarang during the 2025–2026 academic year. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through tests, interviews, and documentation. The subjects consisted of three female students categorized based on high, moderate, and low mathematical ability. The results showed that the student with high mathematical ability was able to fulfill all indicators of algebraic thinking ability, the student with moderate mathematical ability fulfilled only four indicators, while the student with low mathematical ability fulfilled only two indicators of algebraic thinking ability.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru Bahasa Inggris tingkat SMP di Kota Semarang melalui pelatihan penyusunan lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD) interaktif berbasis Liveworksheet. Sebanyak 25 guru anggota MGMP Bahasa Inggris mengikuti pelatihan dengan pendekatan praktik langsung yang menekankan pengalaman aplikatif. Rangkaian kegiatan mencakup penyampaian materi teori, latihan teknis, serta sesi pendampingan dalam proses perancangan, konversi, dan penerapan LKPD digital interaktif. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada literasi digital dan kreativitas pedagogis peserta. Penguasaan guru terhadap fitur-fitur Liveworksheet meningkat sebesar 66%, sedangkan kemampuan mereka dalam mengintegrasikan LKPD interaktif ke dalam pembelajaran naik sebesar 62%. Guru berhasil menghasilkan lembar kerja digital yang kemudian diterapkan dalam kelas, sehingga berkontribusi pada peningkatan motivasi dan keterlibatan siswa. Pembentukan English Teacher Digital Learning Community turut menjamin keberlanjutan program melalui penguatan kolaborasi dan pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini berhasil mengatasi kesenjangan kompetensi teknologi guru dan mendukung agenda nasional terkait pembelajaran mendalam berbasis digital.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV) dengan menggunakan enam indikator berpikir kritis yang dikembangkan oleh Facione, yaitu interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, dan self-regulation. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif. Data kualitatif dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam untuk menelusuri proses berpikir siswa secara lebih detail. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan siswa pada indikator interpretation dan analysis berada pada kategori sedang hingga tinggi, namun kemampuan pada indikator evaluation, inference, dan self-regulation masih rendah. Banyak siswa mampu mengidentifikasi informasi dan menerapkan prosedur penyelesaian, tetapi belum mampu mengevaluasi langkah-langkah secara kritis serta menjelaskan alasan logis di balik proses penyelesaian yang dipilih. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam konteks SPLDV belum berkembang secara optimal dan masih memerlukan intervensi pembelajaran yang lebih terstruktur. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa indikator berpikir kritis Facione efektif digunakan untuk memetakan proses berpikir siswa dan dapat menjadi dasar dalam merancang strategi pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan kualitas pemahaman konsep serta kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa.

Abstract

Guru bertugas sebagai fasilitator dalam mempersiapkan pembelajaran yang akan dilaksanakan sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta didik dan tuntutan abad ke-21. Permasalahan di sekolah yang dihadapi adalah guru masih mengajar dengan metode konvensional dan penggunaan ICT yang belum maksimal, sehingga mengakibatkan ketuntasan belajar kurang dari 75%. Maka dilakukan penelitian tindakan kelas ini untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar pada aspek kognitif dan afektif pada mata pelajaran matematika menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan LKPD melalui platform Liveworksheet. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis data kuantitatif dengan teknik deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan jumlah peserta didik kelas XB  MAN 2 Kota Semarang  sebanyak 25 peserta didik. Pada prasiklus, peserta didik memiliki tingkat ketuntasan 72% dan nilai rata-rata 78,2. Selanjutnya, siklus I meningkatkan tingkat ketuntasan menjadi 80% dan nilai rata-rata  sebesar  83. Kemudian pada siklus II  peserta didik memiliki tingkat ketuntasan 92% dan nilai rata-rata 86,4. Selain itu, keaktifan peserta didik meningkat, yaitu dari 81% pada siklus I menjadi 86% pada siklus II.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of entrepreneurship education and perceived economic opportunities on students’ entrepreneurial decisions through risk-taking behavior as a mediating variable. This research integrates the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and Behavioral Finance Theory (BFT) to explain how knowledge, opportunity perception, and psychological attitudes toward risk shape entrepreneurial decision-making among students. A quantitative approach was employed using a structured questionnaire distributed to university students in Semarang City who had participated in entrepreneurship courses. A total of 104 valid responses were analyzed using SEM-PLS, with respondents selected through a purposive sampling technique based on specific research criteria. The results indicate that entrepreneurship education and perceived economic opportunities have positive and significant effects on students’ risk-taking behavior. Furthermore, risk-taking behavior significantly influences students’ entrepreneurial decisions. The analysis also confirms that risk-taking behavior partially mediates the relationship between entrepreneurship education, perceived economic opportunities, and students’ entrepreneurial decisions. These findings highlight that entrepreneurial decisions among students are influenced not only by entrepreneurial knowledge and opportunity recognition but also by psychological readiness to take risks in uncertain economic conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of educational financial management in supporting the improvement of educational quality at SD Negeri Cikandang 01. The study employed a qualitative approach with a single-case study design. Research participants consisted of the school principal, the school treasurer, two teachers, and the chairperson of the school committee, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and document analysis of the School Activity and Budget Plan (RKAS) for the 2026 fiscal year. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model involving data reduction, thematic categorization, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that the school remains highly dependent on Regular School Operational Assistance Funds (BOSP), amounting to IDR 135,780,000, with budget allocations predominantly directed toward routine operational needs rather than teacher capacity development. Under these fiscal constraints, the school implemented an adaptive fiscal prioritization strategy through the optimization of Teacher Working Group forums, continuous academic supervision, internal reflective discussions, and the utilization of free online professional development programs. This study concludes that the effectiveness of educational financial management in resource-constrained primary schools is determined more by strategic budget prioritization, managerial creativity of school leaders, and internal collaboration than by the nominal amount of available funding. The findings propose a conceptual model of efficiency- and collaboration-based financial optimization as a strategic alternative for public primary schools operating under limited fiscal capacity.

Abstract

Inequalities in education funding in Indonesia’s underdeveloped regions remain a serious problem that affects the quality of education received. This study aims to analyze the education financing system in underdeveloped regions and identify the challenges faced. The method used is a systematic literature review (SLR) employing the PRISMA approach through the selection and screening of articles based on specific criteria. The literature search yielded eight articles, which were analyzed thematically. The results indicate that financing in 3T regions is still dominated by BOS funds, which are not yet optimally utilized as they are primarily focused on basic needs, and are further constrained by high operational costs, limited resources, and low community participation. Therefore, more adaptive financing policies grounded in local needs, along with more effective fund management, are required to support equitable distribution and improvements in educational quality.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of quality-based education financing as a strategic approach to supporting educational development and improving educational quality. Using a qualitative literature review approach, the study analyzes scholarly articles, academic books, policy documents, and educational regulations related to educational finance and quality management. Data were analyzed through content analysis involving data reduction, classification, interpretation, and conceptual synthesis. The findings indicate that quality-based education financing emphasizes the alignment of financial planning, resource allocation, implementation, and evaluation with educational quality objectives. Such an approach contributes to improved management effectiveness, enhanced learning services, greater financial transparency, and stronger achievement of educational quality standards. The analysis further reveals that leadership commitment, regulatory support, stakeholder participation, and digital financial management systems serve as key enabling factors, whereas budget limitations, inadequate oversight mechanisms, and limited financial management capacity remain significant challenges. This study proposes a conceptual framework for quality-based education financing that integrates accountability, transparency, innovation, and technology-based governance to support sustainable educational development. The findings contribute to the growing discourse on educational finance by highlighting the role of quality-oriented funding strategies in strengthening educational outcomes and institutional performance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of technology and digital transparency in modern education financing systems and its implications for financial management effectiveness and educational service quality. This study adopts a qualitative literature review approach. Data were collected from scholarly publications, educational regulations, and relevant policy documents and analyzed using thematic content analysis to identify key themes related to technology integration and digital transparency in education financing systems. The findings reveal that technology integration enhances the efficiency, accuracy, and accountability of education financing through the implementation of financial information systems, digital reporting platforms, and technology-based budgeting mechanisms. Digital transparency strengthens information disclosure, public oversight, and stakeholder trust in educational institutions. Furthermore, the synergy between technological innovation and transparent governance supports more strategic and accountable resource allocation, contributing to improved educational service quality. The study implies that digital transformation in education financing is not merely an administrative innovation but also a strategic framework for strengthening transparent, adaptive, and sustainable educational governance.
