Abstract

Aeromonas hydrophila causes Motile Aeromonads Septicemia disease in catfish. Phytopharmaca can be performed as an alternative to increasing the nonspecific immune response of catfish. One of the potentially phytopharmaca is cinnamon, Cinnamomum burmanii. This study was conducted to evaluate the potential of cinnamon leaves to increase the nonspecific immune responses of infected catfish by A. hydrophila. Cinna-mon leaf extract was given through fish diet at doses 0.5% and 1% for fourteen days. The challenge test was performed on the day 15. The method used in this study was a completely randomized design with six treatments and three replications. The six treatments were the preventive treatment of 0.5% (A) and 1% (B), the controlling treatment of 0.5% (C) and 1% (D), negative control (K -) and positive control (K +). The results showed that the controlling treatment of 0.5% (C) was the best treatment with the phagocytic activi-ty of blood cells of 77.59±2.50% and respiratory burst activity of 0.072 ± 0.004 after challenge test. More-over, the survival rate of fish was 100% in the C treatment, whereas in the positive control (K+) only 63.33%. Abstrak Bakteri Aeromonas hydrophila dapat menyebabkan penyakit Motile Aeromonads Septicaemia pada ikan patin. Penggunaan fitofarmaka dilakukan sebagai alternatif peningkatan respon imun non spesifik ikan patin. Salah satu bahan fitofarmaka yang dapat dimanfaatkan adalah tumbuhan kayu manis Cinnamomum burmanii. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi potensi daun kayu manis dalam meningkatkan respon imun non spesifik ikan patin yang diinfeksi A. hydrophila. Daun kayu manis diberikan dalam bentuk ekstrak melalui pakan dengan dosis 0,5% dan 1% selama 14 hari. Uji tantang dilakukan pada hari ke-15. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan enam perlakuan dan masing-masing tiga ulangan. Perlakuan pencegahan 0,5% (A) dan 1% (B), perlakuan pengendalian 0,5% (C) dan 1% (D), serta kontrol negatif (K-) dan positif (K+). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan C merupakan hasil terbaik dalam meningkatkan respon imun non spesifik pada ikan patin pascauji tantang. Hal tersebut terlihat dari peningkatan aktifitas fagositik 77,59±2,50% dan aktifitas ledakan respiratori 0,072±0,004 ikan patin dan juga pada dosis ini tingkat kelangsungan hidup ikan mencapai 100% sementara pada kontrol positif tingkat kelangsungan hidup ikan hanya 63,33%.

Abstract

This experiment was performed to evaluate the effect of rotifers enriched with taurine on the growth and survival rate of larval humpback grouper Cromileptes altivelis. A duplicate feeding experiment was conducted in 1000 L rectangular fiberglass tanks supplied with seawater. Hatched-larvae were stocked into the tanks at a density of 10 ind. L-1 and cultured for 16 days. Larvae were fed on rotifers either from mass culture (control), or enriched with 0 and 0.5 g taurine in 10 L culture medium, respectively. Results shows that larvae fed on rotifers enriched with 0.5 g taurine significantly had the highest survival rate (58.4%), ratio of RNA/DNA (0.2), and total length (5.86 mm). The survival rate, ratio of RNA/DNA, and total length for fish in control and 0 taurine treatments were 17.6% and 33.6%; 0.1 and 0.15; 5.43 mm and 5.70 mm, respectively. It was also found that larvae consumed more rotifers when enriched with 0.5 taurine. These results suggest that the larval growth of humpback grouper was significantly improved by the feeding of rotifers enriched with taurine. AbstrakPenelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh rotifera yang diperkaya dengan taurin terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup larva ikan kerapu bebek Cromileptes altivelis. Percobaan pemberian pakan secara duplikasi dilakukan pada tangki fiber persegi panjang dengan kapasitas 1000 L air laut. Larva ikan yang baru menetas ditebar ke dalam tangki dengan kepadatan 10 ekor.L-1 dan dipelihara selama 16 hari. Selama masa pemeliharaan, ikan diberi pakan tiga jenis rotifera, yakni rotifera yang diambil dari kultur massal (kontrol), serta rotifera yang diperkaya dengan 0 atau 0,5 g taurin per 10 L media. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa larva ikan yang diberi rotifera yang diperkaya dengan 0,5 g taurin secara signifikan memiliki nilai kelangsungan hidup (58,4%), nisbah RNA/DNA (0,2), serta panjang total (5,86 mm) tertinggi. Nilai kelangsungan hidup, nisbah RNA/DNA, serta panjang total ikan pada perlakuan kontrol dan 0 g taurin masing-masing sebesar 17,6% dan 33,6%; 0,1 dan 0,15; 5,43 mm dan 5,70 mm. Ditemukan pula bahwa larva ikan lebih banyak mengkonsumsi rotifera yang diperkaya dengan 0,5 g taurin dibanding perlakuan lainnya. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan larva ikan kerapu bebek secara signifikan meningkat dengan mengkonsumsi rotifer yang diperkaya dengan taurin.

Abstract

This research was conducted to evaluate the effect of supplementation of crude enzyme from rumen fluid in the natural protein-based diet for the growth performance of nile tilapia. The weight average of nile tilapia juvenile which used in this research was 6.10±0.49 g. The fish were reared in the aquarium with measuring 35 x 40 x 50 cm3 with a density of eight fish per aquarium for 54 days. Aquariums equipped with recirculation system. Fish were fed ad libitum three times a day. Four types of feed that used in this research have the similar protein content (28% and 4,050 kcal GE kg-1). All feed were supplemented with different level of crude enzyme namely 0 ml kg-1 (diet A), 200 ml kg-1 (diet B), 400 ml kg-1 (diet C) and 600 ml kg-1 (diet D). Food consumption, feed efficiency, protein retention rate, lipid retention, daily growth, and survival rate were used as parameters tested. Research design was complete randomized block design with four treatments and each of the treatment with three replications. Research results showed that supplementation of crude enzyme from rumen fluid have significant effect on feed efficiency, protein retention and lipid retention of nile tilapia (p<0.01). The effect of crude enzyme supplementation was not significant on survival rate, specific growth and feed consumption, but supplementation of 200 ml kg-1 crude enzyme showed the best effect on the growth performance of nile tilapia. AbstrakPenelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh suplementasi crude enzim cairan rumen pada pakan berbasis protein nabati terhadap kinerja pertumbuhan ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus). Ikan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah juwana ikan nila yang berukuran 6,10±0,49 g. Ikan dipelihara dalam akuarium berukuran 35x40x50 cm3 de-ngan kepadatan delapan ekor per akuarium, yang dilengkapi dengan sistem resirkulasi selama 54 hari. Ikan diberi pakan sampai kenyang dengan frekuensi tiga kali sehari. Empat macam pakan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini memiliki kadar protein dan energi yang sama yakni 28% dan 4.050 kkal GE kg-1 dan berbeda pada jumlah penambahan crude enzim cairan rumen domba (crude enzyme) yakni 0 ml kg-1 (pakan A), 200 ml kg-1 (pakan B), 400 ml kg-1 (pakan C) dan 600 ml kg-1 (pakan D). Konsumsi pakan, efisiensi pakan, laju retensi protein, retensi lemak, pertumbuhan harian, dan kelangsungan hidup digunakan sebagai paramer yang diuji. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan dan setiap perlakuan diulang tiga kali. Hasil penelitian ini memper-lihatkan bahwa penambahan crude enzim cairan domba memberi pengaruh yang nyata terhadap efisiensi pakan, retensi protein dan retensi lemak ikan nila (p<0,01). Adapun nilai kelangsungan hidup, laju pertumbuhan spesifik dan konsumsi pakan terlihat tidak berbeda akibat adanya penambahan crude enzim tersebut. Penambahan enzim sebanyak 200 ml kg-1 memberikan hasil yang terbaik terhadap kinerja pertumbuhan ikan nila.

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to determine the effect of dietary vitamin E (VE) on the diet of catfish broodstock, Pangasius hypophthalmus on the egg quality. Four isonitrogenous (37.68-38.05% crude protein) and isocaloric (3066.66-3104.71 kcal digestible energy/kg of feed) practical diets contained either 28.08, 146.55, 189.65, or 251.80 mg VE/kg of feed, respectively, were applied the to catfish broodstock. The broodstock were cultivated in net cages held in earthen pond. Fishes were fed daily at 4% of body weight for 15 months using these diets. During feeding period, gonad maturation stage were examined, and egg ovulation was induced artificially. The vitamin E and the total lipid contents in the eggs produced were increase as the dosage of VE in the diet elevated. The vitamin E affected the gonad somatic index, fecundity, egg diameter, hatching rate, abnormal larvae, and total number of larvae produced. Fishes fed on diet containing 189.65 mg VE/kg of feed significantly produced the highest hatching rate (78.77%), total number of larva 332,339/kg of brood stock, and lowest abnormal larvae (0.19%). Supplementation 189.65 mg VE/kg of feed significantly improve the eggs quality of catfish. AbstrakPercobaan ini dilakukan untuk menentukan pengaruh dari vitamin E (VE) dalam pakan induk ikan patin, Pangasius hypophthalmus terhadap kualitas telurnya. Empat macam pakan yang digunakan yaitu yang mengandung protein relatif sama yaitu berkisar antara 37.68-38.05% dan kalorinya 3066.66-3104.71 kkal/kg pakan, kandungan VE yang digunakan dalam pakan secara berturut-turut antara lain 28.08, 146.55, 189.65, dan 251.80 mg VE/kg pakan. Induk dipelihara dalam jaring yang ditempatkan dalam kolam beton. Setiap liari ikan diberi makan sebanyak 4% dari berat tubuh untuk selama 15 bulan. Selama periode pemberian pakan, tingkat kematangan gonad diperiksa, dan pembuahan dilakukan secara buatan. Vitamin E dan kandungan lemak dalam telur yang dihasilkan meningkat sesuai dengan peningkatan dosis VE dalam pakan. Vitamin E mempengaruhi gonad somatik indek, fekunditas, diameter telur, laju penetasan, larva abnormal, dan jumlah total larva yang dihasilkan. Pakan yang mengandung 189.65 mg VE/kg pakan menghasilkan tingkat penetasan yang tinggi (78.77%), jumlah total larva 332,339 ekor/kg induk, dan larva abnormal terendah (0.19%). Penambahan 189.65 mg/kg pakan dapat meningkatkan kualitas telur ikan patin.

Abstract

Clown loach Chromobotia macracanthus is one of Indonesian native species and as a key species for ornamental aquaculture. The problem in mass production of this species are the low of growth rate which causes a long period of rearing and low of survival rate. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate free glutamine supplementation at different doses in diet to increase physiological response, growth performance and survival rate of clown loach. Expe-rimental diets contained four different free glutamine levels, viz 0, 1, 2 and 3%. These diets were given to six repli-cate groups of 50 juvenile clown loaches. The fish were reared in each aquarium with dimensions of 40×30×30 cm3 for 60 days. Fish were fed four times a day at satiation. Parameters observed including intestinal glutamine concen-tration, villous and intestinal morphometry, intestinal protease activity, feed efficiency, nutrient retention, growth performance, survival rate, superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, and malondialdehyde (MDA). The results showed that supplementation of 1% free glutamine significantly affected the morphometry of villi. The length and surface area of villi at a dose of 1% showed the highest values i.e., 320.44 ± 10.39 μm and 27,046.79 ± 250.54 μm2, respect-ively. The 1% dose also had a significant effect on protease activity (13.57 ± 1.92 mg units of protein-1) compared to the 0% dose. The 2% dose showed the highest SOD activity (0.82 ± 0.07 mg protein-1 unit) and the lowest MDA level was found at a dose of 3% (0.25 ± 0.02 nmol mg protein-1). Feed consumption with the supplementation of free glutamine has a significant effect on survival rate with the highest value reached 97.00 ± 1.00%, but no significant effect on intestinal morphometry, feed efficiency, nutrient retention and growth performance. Dietary with the sup-plementation of free glutamine is not able to improve growth performance, but can improve the physiological res-ponse and survival rate. Abstrak Ikan botia merupakan salah satu spesies asli Indonesia. Permasalahan dalam budi daya ikan ini adalah pertumbuhan yang lambat dan sintasan yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penambahan glutamin bebas de-ngan beberapa level dosis pada pakan terhadap respons fisiologis, kinerja pertumbuhan, dan sintasan ikan botia. Pene-litian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap, terdiri atas empat perlakuan dengan enam ulangan. Perlakuan berupa penambahan glutamin bebas pada pakan komersial dengan dosis berbeda yaitu 0, 1, 2, dan 3%. Ikan uji yang diguna-kan adalah yuwana ikan botia umur 40 hari, dipelihara dalam akuarium berukuran 40x30x30cm3 sebanyak 24 unit dengan padat tebar 50 ekor per akuarium. Pakan diberikan selama 60 hari dengan frekuensi pemberian empat kali se-hari secara at satiation. Parameter yang diamati meliputi konsentrasi glutamin usus, morfometri vili dan usus, aktivi-tas protease usus, efisiensi pakan, retensi nutrien, pertumbuhan, sintasan, aktivitas superoxide dismutase (SOD), serta malon-dialdehyde (MDA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan glutamin bebas 1% menunjukkan nilai paling tinggi untuk parameter panjang dan luas permukaan vili yaitu 320,44±10,39 µm dan 27.046,79±250,54 µm2. Dosis 1% menghasilkan pengaruh signifikan terhadap aktivitas protease (13,57±1,92 unit mg protein-1) dibandingkan dosis 0%. Perlakuan dosis 2% menunjukkan aktivitas SOD (0,82±0,07 unit mg protein-1) paling tinggi, sedangkan ka-dar MDA paling rendah terdapat pada dosis 3% (0,25±0,02 nmol mg protein-1). Konsumsi pakan dengan penambahan glutamin bebas berpengaruh nyata terhadap sintasan dengan nilai tertinggi 97,00±1,00%, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap morfometri usus, efisiensi pakan, retensi nutrien, dan pertumbuhan. Penambahan glutamin bebas da-lam pakan belum mampu meningkatkan kinerja pertumbuhan, namun mampu meningkatkan respons fisiologis dan sintasan ikan botia.

Abstract

Botia or clown loach is the one of fishes was originated from Indonesia and as an ornamental fish commodity in the global market. Clown loach both nature and cultured have some problems when reared in aquaria that is the decrease of color quality. An innovation technology to improve color quality through diet formulates is needed. The aims of this research were to increase the color quality using astaxanthin in diet and to find out the role of astaxanthin as antioxidant in clown loach. The study consists of four treatments of astaxanthin dosages in the diet with isoprotein and isoenergy, namely 0, 50, 100 and 150 mg kg-1 with four replications. The fish juveniles with size of 3.44±0.51 cm and 0.56±0.02 g of weight with density of one fish per littre were used. The test diet was given three times a day during 60 days. The results showed that there were no significant differences antioxidant activity such as superoxide dismutase enzymes and malondialdehyde. However, there was a significant effect (P<0.05) to color quality of the chroma and total carotenoid, whereas no significantly different in lightness. The addition of astaxanthin was effective to improve the color quality of clown loach juvenile. Thus, 100 mg kg-1 of astaxanthin in diet is an optimal dose for clown loach juvenile. Abstrak Ikan botia adalah salah satu jenis ikan hias asli Indonesia dan merupakan komoditas perdagangan internasional. Ikan botia hasil tangkapan maupun hasil budidaya memiliki permasalahan saat dipelihara karena mengalami penurunan kualitas warna. Inovasi teknologi teknologi diperlukan untuk peningkatan kualitas warna ikan botia melalui ramuan pakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh penambahan astaksantin dalam pakan terhadap kualitas warna dan peran astaksantin sebagai antioksidan pada yuwana ikan botia. Penelitian terdiri atas empat perlakuan de-ngan empat ulangan. Perlakuan berupa penambahan astaksantin dalam pakan dengan dosis yang berbeda yaitu 0, 50, 100, dan 150 mg kg-1. Pakan dibuat isoprotein dan isoenergi. Yuwana ikan botia yang digunakan berukuran 3,44±0,51 cm dan 0,56±0,02 g dengan padat tebar satu ekor per liter. Masa pemeliharaan selama 60 hari dengan frekuensi pemberian pakan tiga kali sehari secara at satiation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan astaksantin tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kecerahan dan aktivitas antioksidan baik enzim superoxide dismutase maupun malondialdehyde, namun berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kepekatan warna dan karotenoid total. Penambahan astaksantin dalam pakan efektif untuk meningkatan kualitas warna ikan botia. Dosis astaksantin100 mg kg-1 dalam pakan merupakan dosis optimal bagi yuwana ikan botia.

Abstract

A triplicate experiment was conducted to evaluate the supplementation of monosodium glutamate into the diet on physiological responses, growth performances, and feed efficiency of north African catfish Clarias gariepinus cul-tured in high ammonia environment. A hundred fish with an initial body weight of 11.9±0.3 g was rearing for 60 days without any water exchange in nine plastic tanks (1x1x1 m3) at experimental pond of Department of Aquaculture, Bogor Agricultural University. During rearing period, fish were fed on the diet supplemented with 0%, 0.87%, or 1.74 % of monosodium glutamate, two times a day at satiation. Result shows that the supplementation of monoso-dium glutamate in feed stimulates change in fish physiological responses such as lower Alanin Transaminase mono-sodium glutamate enzyme activity, lower blood ammonia, and higher intestinal glutamine. Feeding using monoso-dium glutamate-supplemented feed at three different doses results in the same growth rate. However, the highest feed efficiency of North African catfish was recorded in the treatment of feed supplemented with 0.87% monosodium glutamate. Thus, it can be inferred that the usage of monosodium glutamate may improve physiological response and feed efficiency but does not affect fish growth rate. Abstrak Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengevaluasi pemberian pakan yang ditambah monosodium glutamat terhadap respon fisiologis, kinerja pertumbuhan, dan pemanfaatan pakan oleh ikan lele Clarias gariepinus yang dipelihara dalam media yang mengandung amonia tinggi. Ikan uji sebanyak 100 ekor, bobot rata-rata 11,9±0,3 g, masing-masing dipelihara di dalam sembilan tangki plastik (1×1×1 m3) di kolam percobaan Departemen Budidaya Perairan Institut Pertanian Bogor selama 60 hari. Selama masa pemeliharaan, ikan diberi pakan yang ditambah mo-nosodium glutamat masing-masing sebanyak 0%; 0,87%; dan 1,74%. Setiap perlakuan pemberian monosodium glutamat dilakukan pengulangan tiga kali. Pakan diberikan dua kali sehari secara at satiation. Selama masa budi daya tidak dilakukan pergantian air seperti yang dilakukan pembudidaya di kawasan yang sulit air. Hasil penelitian menun-jukkan bahwa penambahan monosodium glutamat di pakan menyebabkan terjadinya perubahan respons fisiologis ikan, yaitu penurunan nilai aktivitas enzim alanin transaminase dan kandungan amonia darah, serta peningkatan ka-dar glutamin usus. Pemberian pakan yang ditambah monosodium glutamat pada tiga dosis yang berbeda menghasil-kan kinerja pertumbuhan yang sama. Namun, pemberian pakan yang ditambah monosodium glutamat 0,87% meng-hasilkan nilai efisiensi pakan paling tinggi. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaaan monosodium glutamat dapat memperbaiki respon fisiologis dan pemanfaatan pakan, namun tidak meningkatkan kinerja pertum-buhan ikan.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of giving Daphnia sp. as a natural feed enriched with the doses of glutamine to increase growth performance and survival rate of larvae. This study used a completed randomized design which consisted of four treatments, namely 0, 25, 50, dan 75 mgL-1 and three replications. The test feed was given to larvae stocked with 60 fish/aquarium (40 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm) for 21 days. The results showed that significant on growth performance and survival rate were revealed on larvae fed with Daphnia sp. which enriched by glutamine dose of 25-75 mgL-1.The physiological response of protease enzyme and antioxidant activity showed that better performance was found in the treatment with addition of glutamine rather than control. In short, enrichment of Daphnia sp. using glutamine can improve the growth performance and survival rate of goramy larvae. The optimal dose of glutamine for improving the survival of gorami larvae is 25 mg L-1. Abstrak Penelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan mengevaluasi efektivitas pemberian Daphnia sp. sebagai pakan alami yang diper-kaya dengan berbagai dosis glutamin untuk meningkatkan kinerja pertumbuhan dan sintasan larva ikan gurami. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang terdiri atas empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan ditentukan berdasarkan dosis glutamin yang berbeda yaitu 0, 25, 50, dan 75 mg L-1. Pakan uji diberikan pada larva ikan gurami yang ditebar 60 ekor ikan setiap akuarium (40 x 30 x 30 cm3) selama 21 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjuk-kan bahwa larva ikan gurami yang diberi pakan Daphnia sp. dengan pengayaan menggunakan glutamin dosis 25-75 mg L-1 memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja pertumbuhan dan sintasan dibandingkan dengan kontrol (0 glutamin). Respon fisiologi aktivitas enzim protease dan aktivitas antioksidan menunjukkan kinerja yang lebih baik pada perlakuan penambahan glutamin dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Disimpulkan bahwa pengayaan Daphnia sp. menggunakan glutamin mampu meningkatkan kinerja pertumbuhan dan sintasan larva ikan gurami. Dosis optimal untuk meningkatkan sintasan larva ikan gurami adalah 25 mg L-1.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to evaluate the supplementation of turmeric in the diet on antioxidant status and growth performance of African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) in zero water exchange condition. This study used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replications. Each treatment consisted of feed supplementation turmeric at dosage of 0; 2.5; 5 or 7.5 g kg-1 diet. One hundred catfish juvenile (5.95±0.05 g) were stocked in intermediate bulk container (IBC) tank (1×1×1 m3) and rearing in zero water exchange condition for 60 days. Catfish were fed at satiation twice a day, in the morning and evening. The results showed that an increase in antioxidant content in catfish fed with the addition of turmeric, which simultaneously also reduced the percentage of liver damage. The parameters of liver damage can be seen from several parameters i.e. pale liver, droplet fat and fat content in the addition of turmeric treatment is lower than without the addition of turmeric. However, catfish fed with the addition of turmeric did not show significant results in terms of growth performances. Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi penambahan kunyit ke dalam pakan sebagai antioksidan dan kinerja pertumbuhan ikan lele Afrika (Clarias gariepinus). Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Setiap perlakuan terdiri atas penambahan dosis kunyit sebanyak 0; 2,5; 5 dan 7,5 g kg-1 pakan. Seratus benih ikan lele (5,95±0,05 g) dipelihara dalam tangki Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) (1×1×1 m3) dan dipelihara tanpa pergantian air selama 60 hari. Ikan lele diberi pakan secara at satiation dua kali sehari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kandungan antioksidan pada ikan lele yang diberi pakan dengan penambahan kunyit di dalamnya, yang secara bersamaan juga mengurangi persentase kerusakan hati. Parameter kerusakan hati dapat dilihat dari beberapa parameter, seperti hati pucat, droplet lemak dan kandungan lemak pada perlakuan penambahan kunyit lebih rendah dibandingkan tanpa penambahan kunyit. Namun ikan lele yang diberikan pakan dengan penambahan kunyit tidak menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan dari segi pertumbuhannya.

Abstract

Supplemental enzyme in artificial diets with difference doses for African catfish Clarias gariepinus (initial weight of 0.0048±0.0001 g and total length 0.7633±0.0392 cm) were examined for 12 days feeding trial. The aim of this study was to analyze the effectiveness supplemental enzymes in diets for growth performance of catfish larvae. Tubifex sp. (control) and a multi enzyme was included at the level of 0.00 (ME0), 1.00 (ME1) and 2.00 g kg-1 (ME2 diet as a test diets. Each of the four experimental diets was randomly assigned to four plicate groups. Larva was allocated into 150 L aquaria at a density of 1350 larvae per aquarium. Data was analyzed using SPSS 20, followed by Duncan’s test. The result showed that the survival rate and condition factors were no statistical difference between experimental diets and control group. The highest final length, final weight, total food consumption, villi length and enzymes activity were recorded in the Control (P<0.05) and significantly different with other treatments. Feed efficiency’s control significantly different with other. Harvest size distribution, in the small size group (1-2 cm) did not show significantly different, in the medium size group (2-3 cm) and large size group (3-5 cm) the Tubifex sp. treatment were significantly different from the other treatments (P<0.05) whereas between ME0, ME1 and ME2 treatments were not significantly different. Among the supplemental enzyme in test diets, ME2 can improve weight and total length 6.25% and 13.4%, respectively than ME0 treatment. The results suggested that enzyme supplementation can improve intestinal structure and growth performance of catfish larvae. The supplemental enzyme in diets with doses up to 2 g kg-1 can increase intestinal villi’s length but have not been able to increase fish growth performance as use worm. Abstrak Penambahan enzim pada pakan buatan dengan dosis berbeda untuk ikan lele Afrika Clarias gariepinus (bobot awal 0,0048 ± 0,0001 g dan panjang total 0,7633 ± 0,0392 cm) telah dilakukan selama 12 hari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis efektivitas penambahan enzim pada pakan untuk pertumbuhan larva ikan lele. Cacing sutra (kontrol) dan multienzim ditambahkan pada pakan dengan dosis 0,00 g kg-1 (ME0), 1,00 g kg-1 (ME1) dan 2,00 g kg-1 (ME2) pakan. Masing-masing dari empat perlakuan disusun secara acak dengan empat ulangan. Larva ditebar dalam 150 L dengan kepadatan 1350 ekor per akuarium. Data dianalisis menggunakan SPSS 20, dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwas intasan dan faktor kondisi tidak berbeda nyata antarperlakuan. Nilai panjang dan bobot akhir, jumlah konsumsi pakan, panjang vili dan aktivitas enzim tertinggi diperoleh pada kontrol (P<0,05) dan berbeda nyata dengan perlakuan yang lain. Efisiensi pakan kontrol berbeda nyata dengan perlakuan lainnya. Distribusi ukuran panen, pada kelompok kecil (1-2 cm) tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata, pada kelompok sedang (2-3 cm) dan kelompok besar (3-5 cm) kontrol menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata, namun antara ME0, ME1 dan ME2 tidak berbeda nyata. Pada perlakuan pakan buatan yang ditambahkan enzim, ME2 dapat meningkatkan bobot dan panjang total 6,25% dan 13,4% dibandingkan ME0. Diduga bahwa penambahan enzim dapat meningkatkan struktur usus dan kinerja pertumbuhan pada larva lele Afrika. Penambahan enzim dengan dosis sampai 2 g kg-1 pakan dapat meningkatkan panjang villi usus, namun belum mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan ikan sebagaimana penggunaan cacing.
