Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of innovative learning media that can help elementary school students understand basic arithmetic operations. The Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) was chosen as a game-based medium that is expected to make learning mathematics more enjoyable. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using Pokemon TCG on students' arithmetic skills and to compare the learning outcomes between classes that used this medium and conventional classes. The research used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest–posttest control group design. The research subjects were second-grade students at SDN Karamat 1 (23 students) as the control class and SDN Tenjolayar 3 (27 students) as the experimental class. The instrument used was a valid and reliable 10-question descriptive test on basic arithmetic operations. Data analysis included descriptive tests, Wilcoxon, Mann-Whitney, and N-Gain calculations. The results showed a significant increase in the experimental class after using Pokemon TCG (p < 0.05). Although there was no significant difference in the posttest results between classes (p > 0.05), the N-Gain values of both classes were high, with the experimental class slightly superior.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach assisted by ARCA media on the conceptual understanding of fourth-grade elementary school students in fractions. The background of this study stems from the low level of students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics, especially in fractions, which are often taught abstractly without real-life context. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The subjects were 43 fourth-grade students from SD Negeri Maniis III and SD Negeri Cintaasih II, divided into experimental and control classes. The research instrument was a conceptual understanding test covering indicators: defining, giving examples, classifying, applying concepts, and making conclusions. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students’ conceptual understanding taught using the RME approach with ARCA media compared to conventional teaching. This proves that RME with ARCA media makes learning more contextual, meaningful, and engaging, thereby enhancing students’ involvement and understanding. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa, khususnya dalam memahami pecahan yang sering diajarkan secara abstrak tanpa konteks nyata. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Maniis III dan SD Negeri Cintaasih II Kabupaten Majalengka sebanyak 43 siswa, dengan pembagian kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pemahaman konsep yang mencakup indikator: menyebutkan pengertian, memberikan contoh, mengklasifikasikan, menerapkan konsep, dan menyimpulkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan pemahaman konsep siswa yang diajar menggunakan pendekatan RME berbantuan media ARCA dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa penggunaan RME dan media ARCA mampu menjadikan pembelajaran lebih kontekstual, bermakna, dan menarik, sehingga meningkatkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman siswa.

Abstract

Having scientific literacy skills is a must for every individual, especially elementary school students, so that they can explore, use, and evaluate scientific information to produce the right decisions in everyday life. This study aims to determine the models and media that are most widely used in improving scientific literacy skills in science learning in elementary schools. The technique used in this study is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR), where the study was conducted by reviewing several articles related to the models and media used in improving scientific literacy skills in science learning in elementary schools with a span of 2018-2023. Literature studies were obtained from search results in databases such as Google Scholar, Garuda, Sinta, DOAJ, ERIC, and Taylor and France. Based on the results of data analysis from 25 articles, the results of the data analysis showed that the models and media that were most widely used to improve scientific literacy skills in science learning in elementary schools were the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and video learning media. Thus, the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and video media have proven effective in improving scientific literacy skills in science learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of the guided inquiry method on students' adaptive reasoning ability at the secondary school level. With a quasi-experimental design using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design, class X IPS 1 applied guided discovery, while class X IPS 2 was the control with conventional learning. Adaptive reasoning ability data were obtained from pretests and posttests, then tested using paired-sample T-test. The results showed a significant increase in the experimental class (N-Gain: 0.64) compared to the control class (N-Gain: 0.55), with a significance value of 0.009. This finding indicates that the application of the guided discovery method has a more significant positive impact on improving students' adaptive reasoning ability when compared to conventional learning. The implication is that teachers and education practitioners can consider using this method to improve the quality of mathematics learning at the secondary school level. Further studies could explore specific aspects of this method and its long-term impact on student achievement

Abstract

This study examines descriptive text writing skills using Picture Series Media with Local Cultural Content in fifth-grade elementary school students. The purpose of this research is to determine the difference in the effect of Picture Series Media on the ability to write descriptive texts among fifth-grade students. The research method applied was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of 60 fifth- grade students of SDN Cigasong I, divided into two groups: class VA as the experimental group (30 students) and class VB as the control group (30 students). The research instruments included tests (pre-test and post-test), observations, interviews, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed through normality and homogeneity tests, Independent Sample T-Test, Paired Sample T-Test, and N-Gain test. The findings revealed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous, thereby fulfilling the requirements for parametric testing. The mean post-test score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group. The Paired Sample T-Test showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results in the experimental group. Meanwhile, the N-Gain results indicated an average of 83.89% (high category) for the experimental group, whereas the control group achieved only 33.36% (medium category). Thus, it can be concluded that the use of Picture Series Media has a significant and effective influence in improving elementary school students’ descriptive writing skills.

Abstract

This study examines the interaction of preservice mathematics teachers (PSTs) with Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI), specifically ChatGPT, during the lesson design and reflective microteaching processes. The research aims to explore how PSTs evaluate mathematical reasoning, adapt pedagogical ideas, and develop reflective practices when using ChatGPT as a cognitive and pedagogical partner. Employing a qualitative descriptive design, the study involved 14 PSTs enrolled in a Mathematics Learning Strategy course at Universitas Majalengka, Indonesia. Data were collected through lesson plans, ChatGPT interaction transcripts, reflective journals, and post-teaching reports, then analyzed using open, axial, and selective coding following Charmaz (2006) and Saldaña (2016). The analysis revealed three major themes: Critical Statistical Reasoning and AI Evaluation, AI as a Reflective Catalyst for Pedagogical Decision-Making, and Pedagogical and Conceptual Constraints of AI Guidance. Results showed that ChatGPT supported PSTs in reformulating objectives, identifying misconceptions, and improving pedagogical structure, but its reasoning occasionally contained conceptual errors in statistics. PSTs perceived ChatGPT as a reflective stimulus rather than a final pedagogical authority, highlighting the need for guided reflection and AI literacy. The study concludes that GAI can foster critical and adaptive thinking when integrated with mentoring and reflective scaffolds. These findings contribute to the growing body of knowledge on AI-supported teacher education, offering implications for curriculum design and the development of AI literacy in mathematics pedagogy.

Abstract

Dewasa ini, pendidikan mengarahkan orientasinya pada teknologi digital, sehingga guru harus menyesuaikan cara mengajar dengan memanfaatkan teknologi tersebut. Namun digitalisasi pembelajaran masih sulit masuk di ruang-ruang kelas, disebabkan masih banyaknya guru-guru yang gagap teknologi. Kesulitan ini dialami semua guru hampir di seluruh Indonesia, termasuk guru-guru di Kabupaten Majalengka. Ketika dilakukan observasi ke SDN Jatipamor di Majalengka ditemukan informasi terkait permasalah yang dihadapi guru, diantaranya adalah guru belum sepenuhnya mengetahui tentang media digital yang dapat digunakan  dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam menggunakan media digital dalam pembelajaran, khusunya google classroom, google meet, google form, dan google drive. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini menggunakan pendekatan seminar, diskusi, dan pelatihan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini  dilaksanakan  di  SDN Jatipamor Kabupaten  Majalengka dengan peserta guru yang berjumlah 14 orang. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan selama berlangsungnya kegiatan dan di akhir kegiatan diberikan kuisioner. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa guru dapat memahami materi kegiatan dan mampu menggunakan media-media digital sebagai media yang dapat membantu dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dan efisien.

Abstract

Program Ketahanan Pangan menjadi salah satu fokus utama KKN-T Universitas Majalengka di Desa Kawahmanuk, Kabupaten Kuningan. Mahasiswa KKN-T bekerja sama dengan warga desa, ibu-ibu KWT dan PKK, serta pemerintah desa untuk memanfaatkan limbah eceng gondok sebagai kompos organik dalam budidaya cabai. Kegiatan ini meliputi pencacahan, pengomposan, penyemaian bibit, hingga edukasi dan pembagian media tanam kepada masyarakat. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan kompos eceng gondok dengan dosis ±60% mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman cabai, serta memperkuat kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya pemanfaatan limbah organik untuk mewujudkan ketahanan pangan lokal. Kolaborasi lintas sektor ini menjadi model alternatif dalam memanfaatkan potensi lokal untuk solusi pangan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Program Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik (KKNT) Universitas Majalengka di Desa Kawahmanuk, Kecamatan Darma, dilaksanakan sebagai bentuk pengabdian masyarakat dengan tujuan melakukan sosialisasi dan penyuluhan terkait pencegahan stunting. Stunting menjadi masalah serius karena dapat menyebabkan kesakitan, kematian, keterlambatan perkembangan motorik, serta hambatan pertumbuhan mental pada anak. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah ibu hamil dan ibu yang memiliki balita. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan melalui kerja sama dengan ibu-ibu posyandu dan bidan desa menggunakan metode sosialisasi dan ceramah interaktif. Materi penyuluhan mencakup pengertian stunting, faktor penyebab, peran pemerintah, peran masyarakat, pola makan sehat dan bergizi, serta monitoring tumbuh kembang anak. Program Gerakan Berantas Stunting Kawahmanuk (GENTASNUK) yang diinisiasi oleh KKNT Universitas Majalengka bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya gizi seimbang dan kesehatan lingkungan sejak masa kehamilan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa edukasi terpadu dan keterlibatan aktif keluarga menjadi kunci keberhasilan upaya pencegahan stunting.

Abstract

Permasalahan gizi seperti stunting dan anemia masih menjadi tantangan di Idonesia, terutama pada kelompok rentan seperti balita dan ibu hamil. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi gizi serta mempraktikkan pemanfaatan pangan lokal berupa daun kelor dan ubi ungu sebagai pangan fungsional. Pelaksanaan dilakukan di Desa Paninggaran, Kabupaten Kuningan, dengan sasaran 140 balita dan 15 ibu hamil. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi pencegahan stunting dengan pembagian puding daun kelor, serta Forum Group Discussion (FGD) pencegahan anemia melalui pemberian smoothies ubi ungu. Hasil kegiatan menunjukan tingkat partisipasi yang tinggi (70% untuk penyuluhan stunting dan 80% untuk FGD anemia), antusiasme peserta, serta penerimaan positif terhadap produk olahan. Kesimpulannya pemanfaatan pangan lokal berbasis potensi desa dapat menjadi solusi alternatif, aplikatif, dan berkelanjutan dalam peningkatan status gizi masyarakat.
