Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penggunaan RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) berbantuan Assembler Edu dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa pada materi bangun ruang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen jenis one-group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V SDN Tajur 2 sebanyak 19 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes berpikir kritis matematis yang diberikan sebelum (pretest) dan sesudah (posttest) perlakuan. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji paired sample t-test. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai pretest dan posttest dengan nilai signifikansi < 0,001. Rata-rata peningkatan sebesar 40 poin menunjukkan bahwa RME berbantuan Assembler Edu efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbantuan media Pop Up terhadap keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas V pada mata pelajaran IPAS. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya variasi model pembelajaran dan minimnya penggunaan media pembelajaran yang menarik. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain quasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V SDN Cipinang III sebagai kelas eksperimen dan SDN Cipinang I sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen tes berpikir kreatif disusun berdasarkan empat indikator menurut Torrance: fluency, flexibility, originality, dan elaboration. Hasil analisis menggunakan uji independent sample t-test menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai posttest kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan nilai sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 0,05. Selain itu, hasil uji paired sample t-test juga menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara pretest dan posttest kelas eksperimen dengan nilai sig. = 0,000 0,05. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran Project Based Learning berbantuan media Pop Up berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakuakan untuk melihat apakah ada pengaruh dari penggunaan model Project Based Learning berbantuan video interaktif terhadap keterampilan berpikir kreatif pada mata pelajaran IPAS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan quasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Sample penilitian sebanyak 22 siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan 22 siswa pada kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data menggunkan pretest dan posttest. Hasil dari penelitian dikatakan bahwa pada hasil nilai pretetst dan posttest pada kelas ekperimen maupun kelas kontrol, uji paired sample t-test nilai sig. (2- tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, maka Ho ditolak, Ha diterima. Adanya perbedaan antara hasil nilai pretest dan posttest yang mana nilai posttest jauh lebih meningkat di bandingkan sebelum treatment. Artinya Model Project Based Learning berbantuan video interaktif dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa pada mata pelajaran IPAS. Hasil uji N-Gain memperoleh skor rata –rata pada kelas eksperimen mencapai 56,18 lebih tingi dibandingkan kelas kontrol yang hanya sebesar 23,63. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa model Project Based Learning berbantuan video interaktif lebih efektif meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dibandingkan pembelajran Direct Instruction.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the mathematical problem-solving skills of students. Up to three fifth-grade students were selected to represent high, medium, and low mathematical problem-solving skills. This study uses a qualitative approach based on a case study methodology. Data collection methods included examinations, interviews, questionnaires, and records. Triangulation tests were carried out using triangulation procedures, analyzing informants, and designing member checks. The data analysis technique included data collection, reduction, presentation, inference, and verification. The results showed that students with above-average abilities can deal effectively with challenges. Pupils of average ability can only reach the planning stage, and when it comes to carrying out the plan, they often make mistakes in entering numbers and performing calculations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the types and causes of learning difficulties among seventh-grade students in solving problems related to plane geometry. The research specifically focuses on identifying challenges in three major dimensions of mathematical learning: conceptual understanding, application of mathematical principles, and problem-solving skills. A descriptive qualitative method was employed to explore students’ learning behaviors and errors in depth. The participants consisted of three seventh-grade students from SMP Negeri 3 Sungai Ambawang, selected through purposive sampling to represent high, medium, and low academic ability groups. Data were collected through open-ended written tests on plane geometry (covering perimeter, area, and real-life applications of two-dimensional shapes) and semi-structured interviews designed to probe students’ reasoning and sources of error. The collected data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, supported by data triangulation to enhance validity. The results reveal three dominant categories of learning difficulties: (1) conceptual misunderstanding, such as misinterpreting formulas for area and perimeter; (2) procedural inaccuracy, including misapplication of principles and arithmetic errors; and (3) problem-solving challenges, particularly in multi-step reasoning and contextual interpretation. These findings demonstrate that students’ errors are interconnected—conceptual weaknesses often trigger procedural and strategic failures. The study concludes that improving students’ geometry achievement requires integrated instructional strategies emphasizing conceptual clarity, contextualized learning, and guided problem-solving practice. Such approaches can enhance students’ reasoning, visualization, and confidence in mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of innovative learning media that can help elementary school students understand basic arithmetic operations. The Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) was chosen as a game-based medium that is expected to make learning mathematics more enjoyable. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using Pokemon TCG on students' arithmetic skills and to compare the learning outcomes between classes that used this medium and conventional classes. The research used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest–posttest control group design. The research subjects were second-grade students at SDN Karamat 1 (23 students) as the control class and SDN Tenjolayar 3 (27 students) as the experimental class. The instrument used was a valid and reliable 10-question descriptive test on basic arithmetic operations. Data analysis included descriptive tests, Wilcoxon, Mann-Whitney, and N-Gain calculations. The results showed a significant increase in the experimental class after using Pokemon TCG (p < 0.05). Although there was no significant difference in the posttest results between classes (p > 0.05), the N-Gain values of both classes were high, with the experimental class slightly superior.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach assisted by ARCA media on the conceptual understanding of fourth-grade elementary school students in fractions. The background of this study stems from the low level of students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics, especially in fractions, which are often taught abstractly without real-life context. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The subjects were 43 fourth-grade students from SD Negeri Maniis III and SD Negeri Cintaasih II, divided into experimental and control classes. The research instrument was a conceptual understanding test covering indicators: defining, giving examples, classifying, applying concepts, and making conclusions. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students’ conceptual understanding taught using the RME approach with ARCA media compared to conventional teaching. This proves that RME with ARCA media makes learning more contextual, meaningful, and engaging, thereby enhancing students’ involvement and understanding. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa, khususnya dalam memahami pecahan yang sering diajarkan secara abstrak tanpa konteks nyata. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Maniis III dan SD Negeri Cintaasih II Kabupaten Majalengka sebanyak 43 siswa, dengan pembagian kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pemahaman konsep yang mencakup indikator: menyebutkan pengertian, memberikan contoh, mengklasifikasikan, menerapkan konsep, dan menyimpulkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan pemahaman konsep siswa yang diajar menggunakan pendekatan RME berbantuan media ARCA dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa penggunaan RME dan media ARCA mampu menjadikan pembelajaran lebih kontekstual, bermakna, dan menarik, sehingga meningkatkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman siswa.

Abstract

Having scientific literacy skills is a must for every individual, especially elementary school students, so that they can explore, use, and evaluate scientific information to produce the right decisions in everyday life. This study aims to determine the models and media that are most widely used in improving scientific literacy skills in science learning in elementary schools. The technique used in this study is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR), where the study was conducted by reviewing several articles related to the models and media used in improving scientific literacy skills in science learning in elementary schools with a span of 2018-2023. Literature studies were obtained from search results in databases such as Google Scholar, Garuda, Sinta, DOAJ, ERIC, and Taylor and France. Based on the results of data analysis from 25 articles, the results of the data analysis showed that the models and media that were most widely used to improve scientific literacy skills in science learning in elementary schools were the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and video learning media. Thus, the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and video media have proven effective in improving scientific literacy skills in science learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of the guided inquiry method on students' adaptive reasoning ability at the secondary school level. With a quasi-experimental design using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design, class X IPS 1 applied guided discovery, while class X IPS 2 was the control with conventional learning. Adaptive reasoning ability data were obtained from pretests and posttests, then tested using paired-sample T-test. The results showed a significant increase in the experimental class (N-Gain: 0.64) compared to the control class (N-Gain: 0.55), with a significance value of 0.009. This finding indicates that the application of the guided discovery method has a more significant positive impact on improving students' adaptive reasoning ability when compared to conventional learning. The implication is that teachers and education practitioners can consider using this method to improve the quality of mathematics learning at the secondary school level. Further studies could explore specific aspects of this method and its long-term impact on student achievement

Abstract

This study examines descriptive text writing skills using Picture Series Media with Local Cultural Content in fifth-grade elementary school students. The purpose of this research is to determine the difference in the effect of Picture Series Media on the ability to write descriptive texts among fifth-grade students. The research method applied was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of 60 fifth- grade students of SDN Cigasong I, divided into two groups: class VA as the experimental group (30 students) and class VB as the control group (30 students). The research instruments included tests (pre-test and post-test), observations, interviews, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed through normality and homogeneity tests, Independent Sample T-Test, Paired Sample T-Test, and N-Gain test. The findings revealed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous, thereby fulfilling the requirements for parametric testing. The mean post-test score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group. The Paired Sample T-Test showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results in the experimental group. Meanwhile, the N-Gain results indicated an average of 83.89% (high category) for the experimental group, whereas the control group achieved only 33.36% (medium category). Thus, it can be concluded that the use of Picture Series Media has a significant and effective influence in improving elementary school students’ descriptive writing skills.
