Abstract

Investing involves allocating funds to achieve optimal returns by evaluating opportunities and managing risks in asset acquisition. Recently, many news reports have highlighted issues in the Indonesian capital market, such as stock investors using online loan funds for trading, which often leads to debt. This research aims to apply the K-Medoids algorithm for stock clustering, enabling investors to select fundamentally sound stocks based on the Price-Earnings Ratio (PER) and Price-Book Value (PBV). The K-Medoids method results show that Cluster 1 includes 93 stocks with moderate PER and PBV values. Cluster 2 comprises 91 stocks with the lowest PER and PBV values. Cluster 3 contains 113 stocks with the highest PER and PBV values. Developing an information system that classifies stocks based on PER and PBV can help investors analyze and make investment decisions more effectively.

Abstract

This study developed a Decision Support System (DSS) to assist the employee selection process for an agricultural company located in North Sumatra by utilizing a combination of the Rank Order Centroid (ROC) and ORESTE methods. The system was designed to address the limitations of the manual selection process, which had been time-consuming and inefficient. The ROC method was used to objectively determine the weights of each selection criterion, while the ORESTE method was applied to rank candidates based on their closeness to the company’s ideal profile. The study evaluated ten candidates based on key aspects such as educational background, competencies, work experience, and completeness of documents. The testing results demonstrated that the system was capable of producing accurate rankings consistent with manual calculations and was able to reduce the selection time from approximately two months to just a few minutes. The implementation of this system improved the objectivity and efficiency of the selection process while minimizing the risk of subjectivity in recruitment decision-making.

Abstract

The research undertaken has the central purpose of creating as well as applying a digital platform accessible through the internet, which is structured specifically to anticipate variations in wind velocity by employing the Prophet algorithm as the analytical framework. The system addresses the need for accurate and accessible forecasting tools in Medan, where highly variable wind patterns affect transportation, agriculture, and disaster mitigation. The research methodology consists of several stages including data collection from BMKG Medan, preprocessing through cleaning and aggregation of daily measurements into monthly averages, forecasting using the Prophet model, system development, and evaluation. Prophet was selected due to its ability to capture trend and seasonal components effectively with minimal parameter tuning. The system was developed using Laravel, MySQL, and Chart.js, integrating Prophet through Python to generate interactive visualizations and downloadable reports. The effectiveness of the predictive framework was measured by means of the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE = 0.19) and Mean Absolute Error (MAE = 0.15), validating the suitability of the method for producing consistent monthly forecasts of wind velocity. The system provides stakeholders such as disaster management agencies, marine operators, and agricultural planners with a practical platform for accessing accurate and timely forecasts. The findings further demonstrate the novelty of integrating Prophet forecasting with a web-based information system equipped with visualization and reporting features, thereby enhancing usability, accessibility, and decision-making support for regional meteorological applications.
