Abstract

Pelatihan Microsoft Word sebagai upaya peningkatan literasi digital siswa dilaksanakan di MA Darul Kamilin, Desa Bakan, Kecamatan Janapria, Kabupaten Lombok Tengah, Nusa Tenggara Barat, pada tanggal 7–9 Agustus 2025. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 11 siswa dari kelas X, XI, dan XII yang memiliki kemampuan dasar komputer yang masih terbatas. Tujuan utama kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pemahaman dan keterampilan dasar dalam menggunakan aplikasi Microsoft Word untuk mendukung aktivitas akademik siswa. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu perencanaan, pra-pelatihan melalui pretest, penyampaian materi, praktik langsung, serta evaluasi menggunakan posttest. Selama kegiatan, peserta mendapatkan bimbingan langsung dalam mengetik, mengatur format teks, membuat tabel, serta menyisipkan gambar. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan yang signifikan, di mana nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 32,73 meningkat menjadi 80,91 pada posttest dengan capaian rata-rata 72%. Hasil tersebut membuktikan bahwa pelatihan memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam mengoperasikan Microsoft Word dan memanfaatkan teknologi digital dalam kegiatan belajar. Selain peningkatan keterampilan teknis, pelatihan ini juga mendorong motivasi belajar dan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam menggunakan komputer secara mandiri. Dengan demikian, pelatihan Microsoft Word dapat direkomendasikan sebagai salah satu program berkelanjutan yang efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi digital di lingkungan sekolah, khususnya bagi lembaga pendidikan berbasis madrasah yang masih menghadapi keterbatasan dalam pemanfaatan teknologi informasi.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve the dental and oral hygiene of school-age children at SDN 12 Puhun Pintu Kabun, Mandiangin Koto Selayan District, Bukittinggi City, through education using poster media. The implementation method consisted of three main stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The implementation stage included oral health education, demonstrations of proper tooth brushing techniques using the “4 Right 5 Perfect” principle, and hands-on practice with a disclosing solution made from red dragon fruit extract to identify uncleaned tooth areas. Evaluation was carried out through pre-test and post-test assessments to measure knowledge improvement and Hygiene Index (HI) examinations before and after the activity. The results showed a significant increase in students’ oral hygiene, with good dental cleanliness rising from 58% to 94%, and good knowledge increasing from 51% to 96%. The program also successfully established new habits of brushing teeth twice daily using the correct technique. In conclusion, this community service program effectively improved children’s oral health knowledge and behavior through interactive education and hands-on learning using poster-based media.

Abstract

The transition to college is a very challenging phase for new students, especially for students in boarding schools where academic and social demands occur simultaneously. This study aims to obtain an overview of the adjustment process of new students, identify the most challenging dimensions of adjustment, and determine the factors that support new students' adjustment efforts. The study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method on four first-year students at Semarang X Boarding School (MWM, BJP, NA, and BS). Data were obtained through in-depth interviews and observations, then the data were analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The results of the study indicate that the four participants were able to adjust well. The adjustments that were perceived as the most challenging were academic adjustment. Support from parents, friends, and caregivers, involvement in campus activities, and time management skills were supporting factors for the success of the students' adjustment process. The results of this study strengthen previous studies on the importance of social support and the role of institutions in the adjustment process of new students and provide recommendations for the development of new student orientation programs in boarding schools.

Abstract

The role of social media for students, namely to improve the quality of student education, has become an important focus in the development of the contemporary education system. The presence of social media has brought significant changes in the way students and educators interact, collaborate and learn. This paper investigates the impact of social media in education, considering its positive and negative aspects. On the positive side, social media provides easy access to information, enables collaboration and project-based learning, and facilitates the development of digital and professional skills. Students are recorded as having used social media before entering college. They at least have more than one social media account. This research aims to investigate the role of social media in improving the quality of student education by analyzing how the impact of social media such as social structure, culture and interactions between individuals influence the learning process. The research method used involved literature analysis and case studies to understand the impact of social structure, culture, and social interactions on the educational experiences of TBI students. By understanding the social dynamics in the classroom, educators can adopt more effective strategies to overcome the challenges faced by students in learning. Through this approach, social media has an impact as an important tool in shaping educational policies that are more inclusive and responsive to the needs of diverse students. By examining the various impacts of social media on educational opportunities, social media can encourage the adoption of policies that are inclusive and responsive to the needs of diverse students.

Abstract

This paper reports on a qualitative investigation of several students at one of the state high schools in Medan. Many students lose their academic achievements. For this reason, the author examines students' achievements from where they get their academic achievements. The author's aim in conducting this research is to try to find out how effective the interaction between families and students is in influencing students' academic achievement. With the hope that the author will get results and some interesting conclusions from it. The author used qualitative descriptive using primary data to get results in the form of 74 informants through school data from the number of students they accepted at state universities and 5 of the 74 informants interviewed. This research shows that social interaction in the family has an impact on learning achievement, social interaction in the family, achievement motivation, learning independence. It is important for parents to focus on establishing interactions with their children, because the more frequently they interact, the it will have a lot of positive impacts on student academic achievement.
