Abstract

In general to find out verbal abuse in Jozeph Paul Zhang's youtube content. And specifically to find out about verbal violence against the Islamic religion in Jozeph Paul Zhang's Youtube Content. The research method uses a qualitative approach to content analysis with the research subject, namely Jozeph Paul Zhang's YouTube content, data collection techniques using coding sheets. Data analysis techniques use content analysis using the Roland Barthers method. The results of the research are: 1. The contents of Jozeph Paul Zhang's youtube content are hate speech (Head Speech). 2. As for verbal violence in Joseph Paul Zhang's youtube content, it can be found in videos that aired in April 2021 and February 2023 with verbal abuse sayings including: "Speaking of a prophetic voice because there are many injustices against minorities", "He said God is thirsty blood killed one thousand two hundred people", "Islamic Allah punishes his own people", "Muslims are repeatedly punished by Allah SWT, he says it's a trial" and "Muslims who are bastards and cant believe in gebleg teachings". The aims of this study are: 1. To find out the contents of Jozeph Paul Zhang's YouTube content. 2. To find out verbal violence against Islam in Jozeph Paul Zhang's YouTube content.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of increasing gender equality for girl in Pargarutan Jae Village. The aim of this research is to determine the communication used by parents towards girls about gender equality and girls' responses to parents' communication about gender equality. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. In collecting data, researchers used observation, interview and documentation data collection techniques. The informants in this research were 15 (fifteen) people from 5 (five) families (father, mother and one daughter). The research results obtained are first, related to parents' communication with girls about gender equality, it was found that parents when communicating with girls applied an attitude of openness, empathy, supportiveness, positive attitude and equality. Parents also began to let go of the influence of the patrilineal and rigid Batak Angkola culture on women. Second, related to girls' responses to parental communication about gender equality, it was found that girls felt equality so that they had the same access, participation, control and benefits as boys.

Abstract

The poem is an image that contains advice that needs to be interpreted in general. The poem also contains religious values. The poem used in the henna dance is taken from the Berjanzi, which is a poem of singing stories, Islamic stories and also prayers for the Prophet. This research aims to communicate messages in the tradition of henna dance poetry at weddings in Teluk Piai village, where henna dance poetry is sung when the bride and groom are sitting on the altar. In this research the author used the library research method (library research) at the stage of data collection, observation and interviews. The results of this research show that the henna dance poetry is a prayer chant for the prophet, where in the henna dance poetry is advice in a marriage so that it is sakinah mawaddah and warahmah.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the digital footprint of social media use and its relationship to family harmony in the village. Through a qualitative approach, data was collected through interviews and observations of families in the village. Data was collected by observation and interviews. The informants for this research were 10 families who met the criteria for the purposive sampling technique. The research results stated that families in Kedai Damar Village use social media to make their daily lives easier. The social media they use are WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Results showed that social media use had a complex impact on family dynamics, with 7 families finding improvements in interpersonal communication and connections, while 3 others faced the challenge of finding the right proportion of social media use to avoid conflict. The implications of the research emphasize the importance of understanding the role of social media in shaping family life in rural areas, as well as designing strategies that support healthy use and have a positive impact on family harmony.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of journalists in carrying out journalistic duties in Medan City. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The research informants were ten people who were determined purposively. Observation, interviews, and documentation are data collection. Data analysis refers to the Milles-Hubberman model: data reduction, data presentation, drawing, and testing conclusions. The results of research on the application of journalists in carrying out journalistic duties in Medan City cannot be realized in totality because there are conflicts of interest, such as the interests of media authorities, advertisers, and the government who drive the news and the personal interests of journalists. It is possible to implement the independence of journalists with the style of writing Feature news (typical essays).

Abstract

This research was carried out with the aim of further identifying the educational messages contained in the film Under Age by using 3 levels in John Fiske’s Semiotic analysis, namely the level of reality, representation and ideology. Researchers used qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. The research results show that in this film there are many educational messageto be conveyet to the audience, such as conveying the values of frienship, family value, and honestywhich must be uphelp as highly as possible within every human being. The educational message from the level of reality that can be seen in that the environment influences the behavior of teenagers who are still searching for their identity. The level of representation depicted is a shooting technique that focuses on medium shots and close-up shot so that you can see the character’s expressions clearly, as well as the level of ideology in the film. Thus is the ideology of socialism with middle class social life.

Abstract

This research aims to determine how the Muslim community communicates and builds an attitude of tolerance in Siborongborong Village, North Tapanuli Regency. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the type of field research. This research data comes from interviews and observations as primary data and relevant literature reviews as secondary data. This research data was analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and verification. The validity of this research data was tested through triangulation techniques. This research shows that communication between Muslim and non-Muslim communities in Siborongborong Village, North Tapanuli Regency, is essential for building tolerance and social harmony attitudes. Village residents can broaden their understanding of religious communities and reduce negative stereotypes through dialogue, discussion, and daily interactions. An attitude of tolerance reflected in mutual respect, appreciation, and assistance strengthens relationships between individuals and builds trust in cultural and religious diversity. Communication and tolerance are the primary keys to maintaining social harmony and diversity in society, making maintaining good communication and strengthening attitudes of tolerance an inevitable priority in efforts to build an inclusive and peaceful society.

Abstract

This article aims to find out how the One Day One Juz communication strategy is in encouraging people to read the Qur'an in Medan City. The type of research used in this research is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Based on the results of the discussion, it is known that the main media used in implementing communication strategies use social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, websites, and so on. Based on the interview results, persuasive communication is a technique used by the community to encourage people's confidence in reading the Qur'an. The program efforts carried out by the community include carrying out community education campaigns, holding group activities and discussions, as well as collaborating with educational institutions and youth.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas dakwah melalui channel YouTube Khalid Basalamah Official dengan fokus pada peran interaksi dan keterlibatan audiens di kalangan mahasiswa UIN Sumatera Utara. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan wawancara mendalam dan observasi partisipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dakwah digital ini efektif dalam menyampaikan pesan keagamaan, dengan audiens tidak hanya berperan sebagai pendengar tetapi juga aktif terlibat dalam diskusi melalui kolom komentar dan fitur live chat. Keterlibatan ini meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap isu-isu keagamaan dan menciptakan suasana diskusi yang interaktif. Namun, penelitian juga menemukan tantangan dalam moderasi komentar dan pemahaman materi yang kompleks. Secara keseluruhan, dakwah di platform YouTube memiliki potensi besar untuk menjangkau dan mendidik audiens, serta memperkuat keterlibatan mereka dalam proses pembelajaran agama. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan strategi dakwah digital yang lebih efektif di era media sosial.

Abstract

This study examines the application of Roland Barthes' semiotic theory in the analysis of da'wah messages disseminated through the social media platform Instagram. This research involved analyzing content posted by the @fuadhnaim account from January to October 2024. The research seeks to elucidate the denotative, connotative, and mythological significances embedded in reel-shaped preaching messages, while also examining the utilization of visual and verbal symbols to communicate Islamic ideals in the digital age. The employed methodology is descriptive qualitative, utilizing content analysis as the primary data collection tool. An investigation of the @fuadhnaim Instagram account revealed that the da'wah messages comprised five postings on faith, four on sharia, four pertaining to worship, and nine about morals. Certain reels also address prevalent topics and offline research articles. The da'wah themes presented encompass self-reflection, prayer, and critique of promiscuity, alongside an examination of falsehoods that expose social constructs, like the morality of "migrating children" and Islamic perspectives on soul mates. The findings indicate that Instagram is beneficial for da'wah, leveraging social trends to communicate Islamic ideals pertinently in the digital age. Penelitian ini berfokus pada penggunaan pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes dalam menganalisis pesan-pesan dakwah yang disampaikan melalui media sosial Instagram. Studi ini dilakukan dengan mengkaji konten yang diunggah oleh akun @fuadhnaim selama periode Januari hingga Oktober 2024. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengungkap makna denotatif, konotatif, dan mitos yang terkandung dalam pesan-pesan dakwah berbentuk reels, serta memahami bagaimana simbol-simbol visual dan verbal digunakan untuk menyampaikan nilai-nilai Islam di era digital. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan analisis konten sebagai teknik utama pengumpulan data. Berdasarkan analisis konten akun Instagram @fuadhnaim ditemukan bahwa pesan dakwah yang disampaikan mencakup lima unggahan tentang akidah, empat tentang syari'ah, empat terkait ibadah, dan sembilan mengenai akhlak. Beberapa reels juga membahas isu populer dan potongan kajian offline. Tema dakwah yang diangkat meliputi introspeksi diri, doa, serta kritik terhadap seks bebas, dengan analisis mitos yang mengungkap konstruksi sosial seperti moralitas "anak hijrah" dan pandangan Islam tentang jodoh. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa Instagram efektif untuk dakwah, memanfaatkan tren sosial untuk menyampaikan nilai keislaman secara relevan di era digital.
