Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemandirian dan prestasi belajar kimia antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe Everyone is A Teacher Here dan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran tanpa strategi tersebut, apabila pengetahuan awal kimia dikendalikan secara statistik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Cangkringan tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 yang berjumlah 96 siswa. Sampel penelitian meliputi satu kelas eksperimen dengan 24 siswa dan 24 siswa pada kelas kontrol. Pengujian hipotesis penelitian menggunakan uji t sama subjek, uji t beda subjek, dan anakova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemandirian belajar kimia siswa antara sebelum dan setelah mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe Everyone is A Teacher Here. Tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemandirian belajar kimia antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe Everyone is A Teacher Here dan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran tanpa strategi tersebut. Ada perbedaan yang signifikan pada prestasi belajar kimia antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe Everyone is A Teacher Here dan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran tanpa strategi tersebut, apabila pengetahuan awal kimia dikendalikan secara statistik.

Abstract

Literation level, one of them is scientific literation, is possible to be the measurement of a national improvement in education. Scientific literation could be specified by chemistry literation which has four aspects; one of them is the affective domain. In this study, the research focuses on the affective domain consisting of five phases; phase of receiving, phase of responding, phase of valuing, phase of organizing, and phase of characterizing by value set. The study aims to describe the students' chemistry attitude skills related to hydrocarbon materials by integrating local case of everyday life. The local case taken is the cooking oil used in the “penyetan” stall. The research is descriptive qualitative research. The participants of this research are whole students of grade eleventh in a senior high school in Magelang who had been taught hydrocarbon materials. The sample of this research is 70 students of grade eleventh. Questionary is used in the research as a data collection method. The instrument used is a form of a questionnaire, which was a close-ended questionnaire with four possible answers; strongly disagree, disagree, agree, and strongly agree. The result shows the skill of chemistry attitude of hydrocarbon material is 69.12857%. It means that the student's skill chemistry attitude is in a category of fair.

Abstract

Sappana (Caesalpinnia sappan L.) has been known as a natural dye in textiles and food. This research aimed to develop a sappan-based natural dye for fabrics dyeing by SiO2 modification as the UV protection agent. The sappan dye and its color were measured by colorimetric methods on UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The testing of the material includes a standard color detection test on the solution and washing resistance on cotton fabrics. The product is the prototype of a stable natural dye product of SiO2 modified - sappan (Si-Cs) which will be performed consistently on cotton fabrics. The result showed that SiO2-modified sappan dye had a higher absorbance in UV-Vis Spectrometer. The performance of the coloring product was also better than the standard sappan dye, indicated by the higher Ultraviolet Protection Factor and the fastness value. Variations of coloring products affected by the mordant agents varied from orange-red-purple caused by non-mordant–alum acetate and iron mordant respectively.

Abstract

Various media that utilize technology in implementing teaching materials make the teaching-learning process more innovative and increase students' curiosity. This study aims to develop a digital flipbook for studying physics in reproduction and to validate the developed flipbook. This study applied the research and development (R&D) design using the 4-D model which consists of define, design, develop, and disseminates. This study is only up to the validation stage and revision of the validation results. The validation subjects in this study are 16 people. The result shows that the developed media is valid, totalling 97.51%. It is expected that the digital flipbook of physics in reproduction can be further developed in further research, namely in the implementation stage, to test how effective it is in the science learning process.

Abstract

Teaching materials play a significant role in facilitating effective learning, particularly when utilizing inquiry-based approaches and incorporating an appreciation of local wisdom. This research has the purpose to create an E-Worksheet based on inquiry and enriched with local wisdom from Brebes, Central Java, specifically designed for the topic of reaction rates. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D) utilizing a 4D development model. The developed E-Worksheet encompasses six learning activities that align with the guided inquiry model, with support from the Flip PDF Professional program. The quality of the E-Worksheet is evaluated by a variety of experts, such as subject matter experts, media experts, peer reviewers, chemistry teachers, and high school students. The assessment results reveal a high degree of validity, with peer reviewers assigning a rating of 88.56% (Very Good), reviewers evaluating it as 92.05% (Very Practical), and students rating it at 91.37% (Very Good) in terms of readability. Hence, this E-Worksheet is regarded as an effective learning tool in the field of chemistry education, enabling students to actively participate in the learning process while also gaining an appreciation for indigenous knowledge.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang akan dicarikan solusinya, yaitu mencari solusi terhadap penumpukkan limbah anorganik yang dihasilkan oleh kegiatan masyarakat, meningkatkan literasi masyarakat tentang pengolahan limbah anorganik, serta meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengolah limbah anorganik menjadi berbagai produk souvenir sehingga masalah lingkungan dan ekonomi dapat terselesaikan.  Tujuan kegiatan pelatihan pendampingan ini, yaitu untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat terkait cara pengolahan sampah anorganik serta untuk meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengolah sampah anorganik menjadi berbagai produk souvenir yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi. Solusi yang ditawarkan yaitu melalui kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan cara mengolah limbah anorganik menjadi berbagai produk souvenir seperti bros, tempat pensil, dompet, dan tas, menjadi media tanam, dan ecobrick. Target pelatihan yaitu para pemuda, warga masyarakat sekitar Taman Kyai Langgeng (TKL) Magelang, serta para pendidik di lingkungan kota Magelang. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta, terutama dalam mengolah limbah anorganik, kesempatan kepada peserta dan mitra untuk membiasakan diri peka terhadap lingkungan, terutama pemisahan sampah/limbah anorganik dari rumah tangga atau lingkungan sekitar dan mampu mengolahnya menjadi produk bermanfaat dan bernilai ekonomi, serta mempraktekkannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Sampah rumah tangga umumnya berupa sampah organik, demikian juga limbah/sampah pedagang lotis/rujak, jus, sayur dan buah, yang umumna hanya dibuang begitu saja, menumpuk dan menyebabkan aroma tidak sedap dan menyebabkan sarang lalat, yang berakibat terhadap kesehatan masyarakat sekitar. Untuk itu perlu diupayakan pengolahan limbah rumah tangga, penjual lotis/rujak, jus, sayur dan buah yang berupa limbah/sampah organik menjadi produk yang bermanfaat dan memiliki nilai ekonom. Pada kegiatan pendampingan guru-guru SMP se-Kabupaten Magelang dengan dana dari Program MF (Matching Fund) 2023 (Ristekdikti) telah dikenalkan produk ecoenzim sebagai produk fermentasi limbah/sampah organik, yang memiliki banyak manfaat, antara lain, pupuk, insektisida, dan memiliki khasiat obat (obat luar). Selama kegiatan pendampingan, peserta tidak hanya dikenalkan produk ecoenzim secara teori, tetapi langsung mempraktekkan pembuatan ecoenzim, dengan bahan-bahan dan peralatan yang telah disediakan. Peserta sangat menikmati dan sangat bersemangat selama pendampingan, secara umum peserta menyatakan bahwa kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat, penyampaian materi dapat diterima dnegan sangat baik, metoda yang digunakan sangat sesuai dan kegiatan ini sangat membantu membuka wawasan peserta pendampingan.

Abstract

Nowadays, chemical literacy is something important to discuss, including the benefits of chemical literacy itself. It can be the main purpose for teachers, experts, and curriculum policymakers. Chemical literacy is necessary for students since it can be a background for them to make a decision, build their critical thinking, and creativity, and help them solve daily problems or natural phenomena based on their knowledge. This research aimed to describe the students’ chemical literacy profile on chemical equilibrium materials in coral reef topics. The research question posed in this study is "What is the profile of the chemical literacy level of high school students on the topic of chemical equilibrium on coral reefs?", then this research was designed to determine the chemical literacy profile of high school students on the topic of chemical equilibrium on coral reefs. This research explains the chemical literacy profile from each aspect, chemistry in context, chemistry as knowledge, high-order learning skills, and affective aspect. The type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The research subjects were all students in grade 11th in a senior high school in Magelang who had been taught about chemical equilibrium materials. The sample of the research was 100 students in grade 11th. The research data collection technique used was a questionnaire. The instrument used was the students’ four-option close questionnaire sheet, in which the options were SD (Strongly Disagree), D (Disagree), A (Agree), and SA (Strongly Agree). Then, the data were analyzed by ideal criteria assessment. The result showed that the students’ chemical literacy profile in chemical equilibrium materials is 61.3125%. It showed that the student’s level of chemical literacy profile in chemical equilibrium materials is in a fair category. Therefore, the learning process can be modified to better support the development of high school students' chemical literacy profiles.

Abstract

This literature review aims to analyze the forms of scaffolding strategies and their learning media used in inquiry-based learning (PBI). Scaffolding is a type of guidance given to students in the learning process with many types and strategies that are adapted to their learning objectives. the right scaffolding strategy will improve learning outcomes. Therefore, it is necessary to do a literature review to be able to determine the scaffolding strategy to be used. The study was conducted on 43 research articles that had been published from 2015 to 2022. These articles were selected based on the systematic steps of determining study questions, selecting publications, filtering articles based on keywords. Furthermore, the selected articles were reviewed with the aid of Atlasti.9. The results of this study concluded that the question prompt is a common strategy in guiding students to inquiry. Some of the media used to help students are worksheets and computer-assisted media.

Abstract

The rapid development of science and technology is a challenge for the era of disruption in the 21st century. These phenomena cannot be separated from the hard work of scientists who have scientific habits of mind (SHOM). Science learning that focuses on SHOM can be indicated by the scientific attitude of students during learning, so the benefits of SHOM are to bring out scientific attitudes in students. In addition, SHOM needs to be taught to students so they can solve problems in a structured and systematic way. This study aims to describe the SHOM profile of high school students on chemical equilibrium with the topic of health and the environment. This research includes quantitative descriptive research. The number of samples from this study was 80 students taken from one of the high schools in Magelang City. The data collection technique in this study was a questionnaire. The data research instrument used was a student questionnaire sheet which was a closed questionnaire with five choices namely SD (Strongly Disagree), D (Disagree), QA (Quite Agree), A (Agree), and SA (Strongly Agree). The number of statements that students have to answer is 25 items with details of 14 statements with positive meaning and 11 statements with negative meaning. Then, the data were analyzed by ideal criteria assessment The results of the research that has been done can be seen that the SHOM profile on chemical equilibrium material is 66.7427%. These results indicate that the students' SHOM profile on chemical equilibrium material is classified as fair. So learning modifications are needed such as modification of learning activities, use of learning models and strategies that encourage students to think scientifically, as well as selection of appropriate learning media in order to improve scientific habits of mind.
